AQUEDUCT RACE DAY OVERVIEW — SUNDAY, APRIL 19, 2026

Aqueduct Racetrack presents a full eight-race Sunday card on April 19, 2026, with first post at 1:10 PM ET. The card is headlined by Race 7, the Biogos Rosa B Stakes at $135,000, a one-mile dirt route for fillies and mares. The undercard features a pair of optional claiming routes worth $83,000 apiece, a well-constructed optional claiming turf sprint, and a deep 16-horse field in Race 6 on the inner turf course. The card leans heavily toward older female horses, with five of eight races restricted to fillies and mares.

Of note heading into today's card, Sandtrap secured a turf allowance score at Aqueduct on April 18 per TDN reporting, which confirms the inner turf course has been in active use and is holding up well through the spring meet. The Keeneland Spring Meet concluded its final Saturday card on April 18, which may shift some national attention back to the New York circuit this weekend.

Manuel Franco leads the local jockey colony and appears on multiple mounts today across a range of race types, giving him a legitimate shot at a multi-win day. Edgard Zayas, Jose Lezcano, and Ricardo Santana Jr. round out the deep book of riders. On the trainer side, Chad C. Brown, Todd Pletcher, and Linda Rice are the marquee names with live runners throughout the card.

WEATHER AND TRACK CONDITIONS — APRIL 19, 2026

Forecast for the Aqueduct area calls for partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid-50s Fahrenheit at post time. Overnight and early morning conditions have been dry following a brief wet spell mid-week, allowing both the main track and the inner turf course to recover to good or firm footing. The main dirt track at Aqueduct is expected to be listed at fast, with the inner turf course expected to come in at good to firm. No significant precipitation is anticipated during the racing program.

Aqueduct's main track drains well, and a fast surface is the default expectation under these spring conditions. The inner turf course, which hosted action on April 18, appears to be holding up favorably as the spring meet progresses. Bettors should verify official track condition announcements at the paddock and official Equibase listings at the time of wagering, as morning reports are subject to change.

TRACK BIAS AND POST POSITION ANALYSIS

Aqueduct's main dirt track has historically favored horses with early speed, particularly in sprint races and shorter routes. On a fast surface at the main track, inside posts can be advantageous in route races as horses save ground, though the first turn at Aqueduct can cause congestion in large fields. In sprint races on the main track, outside posts can be a slight disadvantage due to the long run to the first turn, though the bias is not as pronounced as at some other tracks.

The inner turf course at Aqueduct is a relatively tight circuit, and inside posts can present a significant advantage when the rail is up and the going is firm. However, in races where the rail is out several feet, the bias flattens considerably and pace becomes the dominant factor. In today's turf races, horses drawn to the outside in larger fields will need to work harder to secure position early.

At today's projected fast main track, horses with natural early pace or those who can secure a stalking position two to three lengths off the lead are favored. Wire-to-wire winners at Aqueduct on a fast track are common in sprint distances. In the 1980-foot and longer routes, closers get more of a look, but true deep closers remain risky without a genuine pace meltdown up front.

For the inner turf course, pace will govern outcomes more than post position. Fields that figure to be contested early over a firm lawn can produce wide-open results. Post position bias is secondary to pace configuration and trainer/jockey skill on the inner turf.

RACE 1 — Post (1:10)/12:10/11:10/10:10 — 1320f | D | C | Clm 10000 | CUM | Purse $28,000

Six fillies and mares go six furlongs on the main track for a $10,000 claiming tag in the bottom tier of the claiming scale. This is a competitive bottom-level event where class and current form are paramount. Purse of $28,000 is modest and the field is tightly constructed from a morning line perspective, with co-favorites Current Climate (POST 3) and Literary (POST 6) installed at 2-1 apiece.

Race 1

Pace Analysis

This six-furlong sprint figures to be contested. Problematica (POST 4) and Open Soul Autism (POST 5) both project as potential pace factors, and the early fractions will likely be honest if not pressured. Current Climate (POST 3) has shown the ability to press the pace, and if multiple horses are dueling up front, a closer or stalker could pick up the pieces in the stretch.

Key Contenders

Current Climate (POST 3), trained by Linda Rice, draws the attention of handicappers as a morning line co-favorite at 2-1. Rice has consistently placed her claimers in the right spots and her horses are routinely fit at first asking off a brief freshening. Ruben Silvera gets the call. At this level, Rice's tactical edge in spot placement is considerable.

Literary (POST 6), the other 2-1 shot, comes from the barn of Chad Summers and gets Dalila A. Rivera up. Literary (POST 6) draws the outside post in this six-horse field, which is not a significant disadvantage at this sprint distance. If she can clear to a comfortable position in the opening quarter, the outside post becomes a non-factor.

Secondary Choices

Problematica (POST 4) at 3-1 for trainer Wayne Potts and jockey Edgard Zayas is a solid second-tier option. Zayas is one of the sharper tactical riders in the New York colony and can place horses in ideal stalking spots. At 3-1 on the morning line, Problematica (POST 4) represents fair value if she brings her best form to the table.

Open Soul Autism (POST 5) at 4-1 is one of two Ilkay Kantarmaci-trained entrants in this race, paired with Manuel Franco up. The Kantarmaci barn has been quietly active throughout the New York spring meet and Franco's ability to dictate terms from the front or press the pace gives Open Soul Autism (POST 5) a legitimate chance to be involved at the top of the stretch.

Longshots

My First Love (POST 2) at 5-1, trained by Kantarmaci and ridden by Heman K. Harkie, is the second Kantarmaci runner in the race. Dual-entry trainers can sometimes split focus, though at the $10,000 claiming level, both runners are managed independently. Worth a look in exotics if the price holds.

Bright Kohana (POST 1) at 15-1 for trainer Josue Arce is the longest price in the field. Arce has runners scattered across the card today, but the 15-1 morning line reflects a difficult task ahead for Bright Kohana (POST 1) in this six-horse field.

Betting Strategy

With two co-favorites, the exacta and trifecta boxes are the plays here. Key Current Climate (POST 3) and Literary (POST 6) on top of Problematica (POST 4) and Open Soul Autism (POST 5) in the exacta. The trifecta using the four single-digit price horses offers reasonable cost at this field size. Avoid straight win bets on the 2-1 shots given the minimal value.

Selections

Win: Current Climate (POST 3) Place: Literary (POST 6) Show: Problematica (POST 4)

RACE 2 — Post (1:38)/12:38/11:38/10:38 — 1320f | t | AO | OClm 75000n2x | CUM | Purse $86,000

Eight fillies and mares compete in an optional claiming sprint at six furlongs on the inner turf course for a generous $86,000 purse. The $75,000 claiming option will likely deter any drops in class from quality horses in this field. Four horses are listed at 2-1 on the morning line, making this a wide-open affair and a difficult race to single in exotics. Riders for Artemis Sound (POST 7) and All Class (POST 8) were still listed as TBA at press time.

Race 2

Pace Analysis

With multiple early speed concerns in an eight-horse turf sprint, pace is the central question. So Sophia (POST 5) and Sporting Lady (POST 1) are likely to seek forward positions. If multiple horses battle from the outside posts, the rail-running stalker or closer could have an edge on the inner turf. A compact, contentious early pace could set up the race for a presser or late-running type.

Key Contenders

Modarosa (POST 2), trained by Riley Mott and ridden by Manuel Franco, is among the 2-1 co-favorites and draws favorable attention. The Mott barn has a steady hand at placing horses appropriately, and Riley Mott as a conditioner in the New York circuit has shown competence with turf females. Franco aboard is a plus.

Mz Big Bucks (POST 3), trained by Michelle Nevin with Luis R. Rivera Jr. up, is another 2-1 morning line selection. Nevin has been an active presence at Aqueduct this spring and Mz Big Bucks (POST 3) in the three-hole on the inner turf is a workable post. If she gets a clean run along the rail, she is a serious danger.

Sporting Lady (POST 1), trained by Keri Brion and ridden by Jamie Rodriguez, is the rail horse and another 2-1 chance. The inside post on the inner turf is a double-edged sword — ideal for saving ground but potentially troublesome if she gets boxed in behind traffic. Brion's record with turf females in New York is worth noting positively.

Secondary Choices

Artemis Sound (POST 7), from the Todd Pletcher barn at 4-1, is a standout secondary choice. Even with a TBA rider, Pletcher's turf entrants at Aqueduct and Belmont command respect, particularly in optional claiming company. Once the rider assignment is confirmed, this becomes a horse to take seriously at a price that offers better value than the 2-1 quartet.

All Class (POST 8) at 5-1 for Richard E. Dutrow also carries credentials worth examining. Dutrow has been rebuilding his presence in the New York colony and gets the outside post in the eight-horse field. A TBA rider is a slight concern but the 5-1 morning line suggests the market respects the horse's form.

Longshots

My Magic Wand (POST 6), trained by Gregory D. Sacco and listed with Manuel Franco — though Franco is also listed on Modarosa (POST 2), so a rider change is forthcoming — is another 2-1 shot. Franco will ride one of these and the other will get a different assignment, which could affect the odds.

Roman Grace (POST 4) at 5-1 for trainer Amelia J. Green with Reylu Gutierrez up is a legitimate outside chance in this wide-open event. Green is a developing presence in the New York claiming ranks and Roman Grace (POST 4) at even money relative to the favorites could offer value in the trifecta.

So Sophia (POST 5) at 8-1 for Antonio Arriaga and Edgard Zayas is the longshot of the group but has legitimate credentials as a pace factor. If Zayas can get So Sophia (POST 5) on the lead uncontested or in a comfortable spot, the 8-1 morning line offers genuine value in the exotics.

Betting Strategy

This race is tailor-made for trifecta and superfecta play rather than win betting given the cluster of 2-1 horses. Identify the Franco mount once the conflict is resolved between Modarosa (POST 2) and My Magic Wand (POST 6) — that horse will likely firm in the market. Use Artemis Sound (POST 7) and All Class (POST 8) underneath in the trifecta for value. A saver ticket with So Sophia (POST 5) on top in the trifecta at 8-1 could pay handsomely.

Selections

Win: Modarosa (POST 2) Place: Artemis Sound (POST 7) Show: Mz Big Bucks (POST 3)

RACE 3 — Post (2:11)/1:11/12:11/11:11 — 1540f | D | AO | OClm 100000n1x | BOF | Purse $83,000

Six older fillies and mares go one mile and 70 yards on the main dirt track in an optional claiming event restricted to non-winners of one race other than maiden, claiming, or starter. The $100,000 claiming tag places this in upper-tier claiming company for the New York circuit. Galinda (POST 5) from the Miguel Clement barn is installed as the heavy 1-1 favorite.

Race 3

Pace Analysis

With Galinda (POST 5) as a heavy chalk, the pace scenario will be dictated largely by who challenges her. Hot Gossip (POST 3) and Some Ride (POST 4) figure as potential pace setters. Current Yield (POST 1), from Chad Brown's barn, typically comes from off the pace, meaning the early fractions could be honest with horses vying for position. A pace duel up front could benefit Current Yield (POST 1) or Pinky Brier (POST 6) coming from off the pace.

Key Contenders

Galinda (POST 5), trained by Miguel Clement and ridden by Jamie Rodriguez, is the clear morning line choice at 1-1. Clement is a craftsman at placing horses in conditions where they are meant to win, and a 1-1 favorite in optional claiming company at this level commands respect. The five post in a six-horse field at one mile is workable. Rodriguez has been riding confidently in the New York colony. Galinda (POST 5) will need to fend off a quality field, but the morning line reflects a consensus assessment that she is the class of this field.

Current Yield (POST 1), trained by Chad C. Brown and ridden by Manuel Franco, draws the rail in this six-horse field. Brown's optional claiming runners in non-winners conditions routinely run well and often overachieve at their odds. Current Yield (POST 1) at 4-1 with Franco gets a legitimate look as the primary threat to the favorite.

Secondary Choices

Pinky Brier (POST 6), trained by Gustavo Rodriguez with Ruben Silvera aboard, is the outside horse at 3-1. The outside post in a route at one mile can be a concern on the main track at Aqueduct, as horses need to travel extra ground on the first turn. However, if the pace is honest and Pinky Brier (POST 6) can stalk from just off the pace, the three-hole closing position in the stretch could work in her favor.

Hot Gossip (POST 3), trained by Linda Rice and ridden by Jose Lezcano, is another 4-1 shot. Rice-trained route runners on the main track at Aqueduct are worth watching when Lezcano gets the call, as he is adept at rating horses in routes. Hot Gossip (POST 3) in the three-hole could press early and maintain enough energy to threaten in the stretch.

Longshots

Some Ride (POST 4) at 5-1 for Anthony W. Dutrow and Ricardo Santana Jr. is a mid-field price who could complicate the pace scenario. Dutrow's horses frequently run better than their morning lines suggest, and Santana Jr. is a top-tier talent.

My Lady Jbella (POST 2) at 15-1 for trainer Rachel Sells with Christopher Elliott up is the longshot of the field. The 15-1 morning line reflects a difficult assignment, but Elliott has shown the ability to guide horses in trips. Worth a small inclusion in the trifecta for coverage.

Betting Strategy

Galinda (POST 5) at even money offers no win value. The play here is to use Current Yield (POST 1) and Pinky Brier (POST 6) on top in the exacta and trifecta, with Galinda (POST 5) underneath as a saver. If Galinda (POST 5) runs as expected, she will likely be part of the top two or three finishers regardless. Structuring tickets with Current Yield (POST 1) and Pinky Brier (POST 6) on top with Galinda (POST 5) underneath at a combined payout could produce value if the favorite runs second or third.

Selections

Win: Galinda (POST 5) Place: Current Yield (POST 1) Show: Pinky Brier (POST 6)

RACE 4 — Post (2:44)/1:44/12:44/11:44 — 1980f | D | AO | OClm 50000n1x | BUM | Purse $83,000

Eight fillies and mares stretch out to one mile and one furlong — a testing distance — in an optional claiming event for non-winners of one race. The 1980-foot distance at Aqueduct means horses will navigate two turns and the full main track oval. This is the longest distance on today's card for a non-stakes event and stamina will be at a premium.

Race 4

Pace Analysis

Waveless (POST 8), from the Todd Pletcher barn, projects as the most likely pace presser or stalker in this field. Fast And Frisky (POST 1) for Kantarmaci and Rodriguez could attempt to establish the early lead from the inside. Just Music (POST 3), also for Kantarmaci, adds a second option for the barn. With two Kantarmaci runners in the field — Fast And Frisky (POST 1) and Just Music (POST 3) — trainer strategy could influence how both are ridden. At a distance of nearly a mile and an eighth, pace will be more sustainable and the race is less likely to be a sprint-style wire job.

Key Contenders

Waveless (POST 8), trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Manuel Franco, is the morning line co-favorite at 4-1. Pletcher's record in optional claiming routes at Aqueduct is strong, and Franco in the irons for this distance is a sound choice. The outside post eight in an eight-horse field at this distance requires a wide trip on the first turn unless the rider drops in early. Franco has the experience to navigate that.

Big Dig (POST 2) at 4-1 for trainer Joe Sharp and jockey Dylan Davis is another key contender. Sharp is a quality conditioner with a sound record at this class level, and Davis has been an active and effective rider on the New York circuit. Big Dig (POST 2) in the two-hole is a workable post for a route.

Secondary Choices

Fast And Frisky (POST 1), trained by Ilkay Kantarmaci and ridden by Jamie Rodriguez, is the morning line 3-1 favorite. Kantarmaci's barn has multiple runners today across the card and Fast And Frisky (POST 1) gets the inside post with Rodriguez, who rides aggressively from the front. If she can establish a clear lead and control the pace at a comfortable tempo, she is dangerous. The 3-1 morning line makes her the actual morning line favorite.

Minnesota Munny (POST 5) at 6-1 for Linda Rice and Jose Lezcano represents the type of overlay that Rice frequently delivers. Lezcano in a route gives this runner a tactical edge, and the 6-1 morning line could be generous if Minnesota Munny arrives in top form.

Longshots

I'm Buzzy (POST 6) at 6-1 for Rice and Kawther Carmouche is the second Rice entrant in the race. The dual entry from Rice is similar to the Kantarmaci situation. Carmouche is an excellent jockey who handles routes well, and I'm Buzzy (POST 6) at 6-1 deserves a look in deeper exotics.

Just Music (POST 3) at 6-1 for Kantarmaci and Zayas is the second Kantarmaci runner. Zayas tends to get the barn's best chance and the 6-1 morning line with Zayas up could suggest Just Music (POST 3) is the preferred runner over Fast And Frisky (POST 1).

Soundbite (POST 7) at 8-1 for Michelle Nevin and Reylu Gutierrez is an intriguing long price. Nevin has been placing horses aggressively at Aqueduct and the 8-1 morning line with Gutierrez up makes Soundbite (POST 7) a viable trifecta inclusion.

Always Laughing (POST 4) at 15-1 for Josue Arce and Melvis Gonzalez is the longest shot in the field and a difficult inclusion to justify in anything other than a superfecta.

Betting Strategy

The dual trainer entries complicate win wagering. The most efficient play is a trifecta using Waveless (POST 8) and Big Dig (POST 2) on top, with Fast And Frisky (POST 1), Just Music (POST 3), and Minnesota Munny (POST 5) filling out the trifecta. I'm Buzzy (POST 6) is a small saver in the trifecta for value. If Fast And Frisky (POST 1) gets loose on the front end, she could wire the field at a modest price, making exacta plays with her on top more relevant.

Selections

Win: Fast And Frisky (POST 1) Place: Waveless (POST 8) Show: Big Dig (POST 2)

RACE 5 — Post (3:16)/2:16/1:16/12:16 — 1870f | T | A | Alw 83000n1x | BUN | Purse $83,000

Eleven horses — a full field — compete in a one-mile and seventy-yard allowance on the inner turf course for non-winners of one race other than maiden or claiming. This is an open company event, meaning colts, fillies, and geldings all eligible, and the full field with multiple morning line favorites makes this one of the most complex races on the card. Three horses share the 2-1 morning line: Goncora (POST 7), Griffin's Wharf (POST 8), and Run Quiet Run Fast (POST 10).

Race 5

Pace Analysis

An eleven-horse field on the inner turf at one mile creates significant early position battles. Gun Barrel City (POST 5) for Pletcher at 4-1 is likely to press or stalk. Two's A Crowd (POST 6) and Ohio Joe (POST 4) add to the pace picture. If multiple horses contest the early fractions on the firm inner turf, the closers and stalkers will have a distinct advantage in the stretch. The three co-favorites — Goncora (POST 7), Griffin's Wharf (POST 8), and Run Quiet Run Fast (POST 10) — are all likely to position off the pace, meaning a pace collapse would help all three simultaneously, compressing the exacta value.

Key Contenders

Goncora (POST 7), trained by Chad C. Brown and ridden by Manuel Franco, is one of the three 2-1 co-favorites and commands the most attention from a training perspective. Brown's record with turf routers in allowance conditions at the New York tracks is among the best in the country. Franco's ability to rate a horse through traffic in a full turf field is a significant advantage. Goncora (POST 7) is the primary selection.

Griffin's Wharf (POST 8), trained by Thomas Morley and ridden by Ricardo Santana Jr., is the second of the three 2-1 shots. The Morley barn has shown a developing competency at this level and Santana Jr. aboard is always a positive. The eight post in an eleven-horse field on the inner turf is manageable with a skilled rider. Griffin's Wharf (POST 8) deserves equal billing with Goncora (POST 7).

Run Quiet Run Fast (POST 10), also from the Morley barn — giving Morley two runners in this race — and ridden by Ruben Silvera, is the third 2-1 horse. The ten post in an eleven-horse inner turf field is a wide draw that will require Silvera to navigate the horse into contention from the outside. The Morley dual entry forces the question of which runner is the barn's first choice.

Secondary Choices

Gun Barrel City (POST 5), trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Kawther Carmouche, is the 4-1 secondary selection. Pletcher's turf allowance runners are consistently well-prepared and Gun Barrel City (POST 5) in the five-hole with a smooth pace scenario could be right there at the top of the stretch. Carmouche has been excellent on the inner turf.

Two's A Crowd (POST 6) at 8-1 for Derek S. Ryan and Jose Lezcano is a legitimate secondary contender at a price. Ryan has a developing string and Lezcano's experience in full turf fields allows him to find trips. Two's A Crowd (POST 6) at 8-1 could be the best price on the board among legitimate contenders.

Longshots

Ambition (POST 2) at 10-1 for Rachel Sells and Christopher Elliott is worth a mention as a longer price in the trifecta. Ohio Joe (POST 4) at 10-1 for Louis Linder Jr. and Jamie Rodriguez is a potential pace factor whose presence will shape the race but whose win chances are limited at this class level. Street Rockin (POST 3) at 12-1 for Robert A. Werneth and Dylan Davis is a double-digit price unlikely to threaten the top choices in this allowance field.

Superpower (POST 9) at 12-1 for Kantarmaci is the second Kantarmaci entry in this race, with Franco also listed — but Franco is on Goncora (POST 7), so a rider change is expected for Superpower (POST 9). Moment's Notice (POST 11) at 8-1 is the other Kantarmaci runner, with Jamie Rodriguez up — though Rodriguez is also listed on Ohio Joe (POST 4), creating another conflict to resolve. Gametime Gladiator (POST 1) at 20-1 for Arce and Gonzalez is the longest price and a near-impossible inclusion in win or place wagering.

Betting Strategy

With three co-favorites and a wide-open supporting cast, trifecta play is the core strategy. Use Goncora (POST 7) and Griffin's Wharf (POST 8) on top in the trifecta, with Gun Barrel City (POST 5), Two's A Crowd (POST 6), and Run Quiet Run Fast (POST 10) filling the third slot. An exacta box of Goncora (POST 7), Griffin's Wharf (POST 8), and Gun Barrel City (POST 5) is a more focused investment. Check rider changes for Superpower (POST 9) and Moment's Notice (POST 11) as the market opens, as rider reassignments can shift the complexion of the race.

Selections

Win: Goncora (POST 7) Place: Griffin's Wharf (POST 8) Show: Gun Barrel City (POST 5)

RACE 6 — Post (3:48)/2:48/1:48/12:48 — 1320f | t | CO | OClm 45000 | BUN | Purse $60,000

The largest field on today's card — 16 horses — compete in a six-furlong optional claiming event on the inner turf for fillies and mares at the $45,000 claiming level. Managing a 16-horse field in an inner turf sprint requires careful attention to pace, post position, and rider skill in traffic. New York Scrappy (POST 16) is installed as the 2-1 morning line favorite, and Russi (POST 10) is the 3-1 second choice.

Race 6

Pace Analysis

A 16-horse inner turf sprint will see a stampede to the first turn. Horses drawn on the outside — and several are in posts 12 through 16 — will need to work aggressively or be patient. Horses with natural early pace drawn inside are at a premium. Launch Control (POST 6), Russi (POST 10), and New York Scrappy (POST 16) are among the horses that figure to seek good positions early. The 16-post draw for the favorite is the most significant complication in this race. A horse breaking from post 16 in a 16-horse inner turf sprint must use significant energy to establish position or will need to be ridden patiently and hope for a pace collapse.

Key Contenders

New York Scrappy (POST 16), trained by Ilkay Kantarmaci and ridden by Manuel Franco, is the 2-1 morning line favorite despite the difficult outside post. Franco's skill in navigating traffic makes the outside post more manageable than with a lesser rider, but the fundamental challenge of traveling extra ground remains. Kantarmaci has been active and sharp at Aqueduct this spring, and the 2-1 morning line reflects confidence in the horse's form over the surface. This horse demands respect despite the post.

Russi (POST 10), trained by Harold James Bond and ridden by Jamie Rodriguez, is the 3-1 second choice with a far more favorable post in the ten-hole of 16. Rodriguez is a reliable and aggressive rider who can secure a good position from mid-field in the draw. Russi (POST 10) is the preferred win play based on post position advantage over the morning line favorite.

Secondary Choices

Launch Control (POST 6), trained by Keri Brion and ridden by Ricardo Santana Jr., is the 4-1 morning line selection with an ideal post position in a 16-horse inner turf sprint. The six-hole offers a prime opportunity to find a comfortable stalking position along the rail or just off it. Santana Jr. is an excellent turf sprint rider who manages traffic expertly. Launch Control (POST 6) may be the most attractive value play on the card given the combination of trainer quality, rider ability, and post position.

Exploration (POST 14), trained by Richard E. Dutrow at 4-1 with a TBA rider, is a legitimate contender whose value will be shaped by the eventual rider assignment. The 14-post in a 16-horse field is problematic for an inner turf sprint, but at 4-1, the price compensates for the challenge.

City Of Oscars (POST 7) at 6-1 for Mark Casse and Edgard Zayas is worth attention. Casse is a nationally prominent trainer who ships horses to New York with solid preparation, and Zayas in a turf sprint is a quality combination. The seven-post offers a solid draw for this 16-horse field.

Longshots

Typhoon Fury (POST 4) at 6-1 for Gregory E. Charlerie and Reylu Gutierrez has a favorable post with the right rider for a turf sprint. Cloud Music (POST 1) at 5-1 for Michael E. Gorham and Madeline Rowland gets the rail, which is ideal in turf sprints at Aqueduct if she can maintain position. Blown Cover (POST 11) at 5-1 for Rudy R. Rodriguez and Silvera is a mid-field post runner worth including in trifectas. Dylan's Ruby (POST 12) at 6-1 for John C. Servis and F. Pennington is an outside draw but Servis has won this type of race regularly.

Rollin In Dough (POST 2) at 8-1 for Amelia J. Green and Franco — though Franco is on New York Scrappy (POST 16) — will see a rider change. Free Dance (POST 3) at 12-1 for Chris Englehart and Lezcano is a longer shot but Englehart is a competent trainer who places horses thoughtfully. Roar Of The Crowd (POST 5) at 12-1 for Gregory DiPrima and Dylan Davis is a double-digit price in a competitive field. Big Z Og (POST 8) at 12-1, Shakin Loose (POST 9) at 20-1, Ready Set Twirl (POST 13) at 15-1, and Nantz (POST 15) at 12-1 round out the field and are best used as superfecta fill horses only.

Betting Strategy

This is a prime trifecta and superfecta race. With 16 horses and a wide range of prices, the payouts on multi-horse exotics can be substantial. Focus the trifecta on Russi (POST 10) and Launch Control (POST 6) in the top two positions, with City Of Oscars (POST 7), Cloud Music (POST 1), and Typhoon Fury (POST 4) as the third-slot options. Use New York Scrappy (POST 16) as a saver on top given Franco's skill at overcoming difficult draws. A superfecta using Launch Control (POST 6), Russi (POST 10), City Of Oscars (POST 7), and New York Scrappy (POST 16) in a partial wheel could yield outstanding value.

Selections

Win: Russi (POST 10) Place: Launch Control (POST 6) Show: City Of Oscars (POST 7)

RACE 7 — Post (4:21)/3:21/2:21/1:21 — 1760f | D | N | BiogosRosB135k | CUM | Purse $135,000

The featured race of the day is the Biogos Rosa B Stakes at $135,000 for fillies and mares going one mile on the main dirt track. Seven horses are entered, and the morning line is dominated by two 2-1 shots: Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5) and Collect The Data (POST 7). This is the race of the day from a quality and wagering perspective.

Race 7

Pace Analysis

A seven-horse field at one mile on the main track sets up as a classic pace-vs-class confrontation. Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5), from Jorge R. Abreu's barn, figures as either a presser or stalker. Collect The Data (POST 7), from Chad Brown's barn, is likely to rate and come from off the pace. Sweet Brown Sugar (POST 2) could be a pace factor. If Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5) and Sweet Brown Sugar (POST 2) establish a contested early pace, the race sets up perfectly for Collect The Data (POST 7) to close and overtake in the lane. If the pace is moderate, Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5) may be able to control the tempo and hold on.

Key Contenders

Collect The Data (POST 7), trained by Chad C. Brown and ridden by Manuel Franco, is the 2-1 co-favorite and the selection of choice in this stakes race. Brown's ability to develop and peak fillies and mares for stakes at Aqueduct and the New York tracks is unmatched in the current training colony. The seven post — the outermost gate in this seven-horse field — requires Franco to maneuver, but at one mile on the main track, the outside post is manageable at the start. Collect The Data (POST 7) is the top selection in the featured race.

Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5), trained by Jorge R. Abreu and ridden by Jamie Rodriguez, is the other 2-1 morning line selection. Abreu has been among the most active and successful trainers in the New York colony over the past two seasons and this filly is clearly well-regarded at 2-1 in a stakes. Rodriguez provides quality tactical riding and will position this filly optimally to use her strengths.

Secondary Choices

Sweet Brown Sugar (POST 2) at 5-1 for trainer Rob Atras and Kawther Carmouche is a genuine secondary threat. Atras places his horses deliberately and Sweet Brown Sugar (POST 2) at 5-1 with Carmouche up presents solid value if she runs back to her best. If she is involved in shaping the early pace, she could hang on for the minor awards at minimum.

Walk With Me (POST 4) at 6-1 for David P. Duggan and Eric Cancel is a mid-field price with legitimate credentials. Duggan has shown steady improvement as a trainer in the New York circuit and Cancel is an effective tactical rider in graded company. Walk With Me (POST 4) at 6-1 represents a fair price for a horse that could surprise in this field.

Longshots

Midtown Lights (POST 3) at 10-1 for Saffie A. Joseph Jr. and Jose Lezcano is worth noting in trifectas. Joseph is a sharp trainer who wins with horses at Aqueduct across all conditions, and Lezcano aboard is always a positive. The 10-1 morning line may overstate her chances, but the combination is dangerous at a price.

Sweetest Princess (POST 1) at 10-1 for Kantarmaci and Edgard Zayas gets the inside post. Zayas could exploit the rail early, and the 10-1 morning line makes Sweetest Princess (POST 1) an interesting trifecta inclusion. Lika Rolling Stone (POST 6) at 15-1 for Antonio Arriaga and Dalila A. Rivera is the longshot of the field and best used as a superfecta filler.

Betting Strategy

This is the race of the day for serious bettors. The exacta between Collect The Data (POST 7) and Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5) is the core wager. At 2-1 and 2-1, the exacta payout will be modest if both run 1-2 as expected, so value lies in using Sweet Brown Sugar (POST 2) and Walk With Me (POST 4) in the second slot. A trifecta using Collect The Data (POST 7) on top, with Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5) and Sweet Brown Sugar (POST 2) filling the second and third slots, is the primary structure. Include Midtown Lights (POST 3) as a third-slot saver for value.

RACE 8 — Post (4:53)/3:53/2:53/1:53 — 1540f | D | M | Md 35000 | BUN | Purse $40,000

The closing race of the day is a maiden claiming event for a $35,000 tag at one mile and 70 yards on the main dirt track. Ten horses compete, none of whom have broken their maiden. This race is the most unpredictable on the card, as maiden claimers can run erratically and produce surprising results. El Paco (POST 6) is the morning line favorite at 3-1 from the Michael J. Maker barn.

Race 8

Pace Analysis

Ten horses in a maiden claiming route means early pace is likely to be contested by several runners. Vitalize (POST 2) and Central Spirit (POST 9) could be pace factors. El Paco (POST 6) from Michael Maker's operation typically runs well-judged races and is likely to be positioned in a stalking spot. Chris's Song (POST 8), from Linda Rice's barn, could be ridden aggressively early by Lezcano. With first-time past performance patterns or inconsistent previous attempts, pace scenarios in maiden claiming routes are difficult to project with certainty.

Key Contenders

El Paco (POST 6), trained by Michael J. Maker and ridden by Manuel Franco, is the 3-1 morning line choice. Maker is a nationally prominent trainer with an excellent maiden claiming record, and Franco's presence in the saddle for a maiden closer on the main track at Aqueduct is a significant advantage. The six post in a ten-horse field at this distance is workable, and El Paco (POST 6) is the clear top selection.

Chris's Song (POST 8), trained by Linda Rice and ridden by Jose Lezcano, is the 4-1 second choice. Rice has been among the most effective trainers at Aqueduct throughout the spring meet, and Lezcano on a maiden router is a sound combination. The eight post in ten is an outside draw but manageable in a maiden claiming field where tactical discipline often decides the outcome.

Secondary Choices

Vitalize (POST 2) at 5-1 for David Donk and Jamie Rodriguez is a credible secondary contender. Donk is an effective maiden trainer in the New York colony and Vitalize (POST 2) at 5-1 with Rodriguez up has the right combination of trainer acumen and rider skill. The two post provides a near-ideal draw at one mile on the main track.

Central Spirit (POST 9) at 5-1 for John P. Terranova II and Christopher Elliott is tied with Vitalize (POST 2) as a secondary choice. Terranova has been a consistent presence in the maiden claiming ranks and Elliott has been riding competently in support roles throughout the meet.

Longshots

Lucky Dragon (POST 4) at 10-1 for Michael Miceli and Kawther Carmouche is worth a look at a double-digit price. Carmouche's skills are not wasted even in maiden claiming company, and Lucky Dragon (POST 4) with her aboard could surprise at a generous price.

Inonit (POST 7) at 6-1 for Lisa L. Lugovich and Ruben Silvera is a mid-range price worth including in trifectas. Foto (POST 3) at 12-1 for David P. Duggan and Ricardo Santana Jr. is interesting given Santana Jr. riding a 12-1 morning line shot — Santana does not typically accept mounts without upside potential. Anderman (POST 10) at 12-1 for Gregory D. Sacco and Edgard Zayas, similarly, benefits from a quality rider who may know more than the odds suggest. Bootsy's A Rascal (POST 5) at 15-1 for Dominick A. Schettino is a longer price in a competitive field. Baby Meanie (POST 1) at 20-1 for James W. Ferraro is the longest shot and best used only in superfecta coverage.

Betting Strategy

Maiden claiming races are high-variance wagers. The win bet on El Paco (POST 6) at 3-1 is reasonable given Maker and Franco's combined record in this situation. An exacta using El Paco (POST 6) on top with Chris's Song (POST 8), Vitalize (POST 2), and Central Spirit (POST 9) underneath offers a cost-effective structure. For trifecta players, adding Inonit (POST 7) and Foto (POST 3) — noting Santana Jr.'s presence on the latter — as third-slot fillers is prudent. A small win saver on Anderman (POST 10) with Zayas could pay well if the chalk fields disappoint.

JOCKEY NOTES AND INSIGHTS

Manuel Franco enters today's card as the premier rider in the New York colony and appears on multiple key mounts across the eight-race card. His mount slate includes Open Soul Autism (POST 5) in Race 1, a conflict to resolve between Modarosa (POST 2) and My Magic Wand (POST 6) in Race 2, Current Yield (POST 1) in Race 3, Waveless (POST 8) in Race 4, Goncora (POST 7) in Race 5, a conflict with Rollin In Dough (POST 2) vs. New York Scrappy (POST 16) in Race 6, and Collect The Data (POST 7) in Race 7 and El Paco (POST 6) in Race 8. The most consequential conflicts to resolve are in Race 2 and Race 6, where Franco cannot ride two horses simultaneously. Bettors should track rider assignments as the morning progresses, as the horse Franco ultimately stays on will likely firm in the market and the departing mount will see odds drift.

Jose Lezcano brings extensive route experience on the main track at Aqueduct and appears on Hot Gossip (POST 3) in Race 3, Minnesota Munny (POST 5) in Race 4, Two's A Crowd (POST 6) in Race 5, Free Dance (POST 3) in Race 6, Midtown Lights (POST 3) in Race 7, and Chris's Song (POST 8) in Race 8. Lezcano's ability to rate horses in longer routes and find gaps on the turf makes him a rider whose mounts deserve extra scrutiny regardless of morning line odds. He has also been effective on the inner turf at Aqueduct and his engagement in Races 5 and 6 adds value.

Ricardo Santana Jr. is one of the most versatile and talented riders in the country and makes mounts today in several races. His appearance on Foto (POST 3) in Race 8 at 12-1 is particularly worth noting, as Santana rarely accepts maiden claiming mounts without genuine upside. His work on Launch Control (POST 6) in Race 6 is one of the premier wagering angles on the card given the favorable post and trainer combination.

Edgard Zayas is the tactical tactician of the New York colony and handles multiple mounts today, notably Problematica (POST 4) in Race 1, Just Music (POST 3) in Race 4, Sweetest Princess (POST 1) in Race 7, and Anderman (POST 10) in Race 8. Zayas is the type of rider who can compensate for a difficult trip with smart in-race decisions. His presence on Anderman (POST 10) in Race 8 at 12-1 is a sneaky angle.

Jamie Rodriguez takes multiple mounts today, with a conflict to resolve between Ohio Joe (POST 4) and Moment's Notice (POST 11) in Race 5 as both are listed at overlapping positions with Franco creating further conflicts. Rodriguez's most significant mounts are Russi (POST 10) in Race 6 and Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5) in Race 7.

Kawther Carmouche provides quality representation across her mounts, most notably Gun Barrel City (POST 5) in Race 5 and Sweet Brown Sugar (POST 2) in Race 7.

TRAINER NOTES AND INSIGHTS

Chad C. Brown is the single most important trainer name on today's card. Brown has Current Yield (POST 1) in Race 3, Goncora (POST 7) in Race 5, and Collect The Data (POST 7) in Race 7. All three are live contenders at their respective morning line odds. Brown's win percentage with first-time starters in turf allowance and optional claiming events is consistently elite at the New York tracks, and his runners in the featured race Collect The Data (POST 7) should be treated as the primary selection regardless of the paddock appearance. Brown finishers who run second are also highly playable in exotics, as his horses rarely run poorly.

Todd Pletcher has Artemis Sound (POST 7) in Race 2, Waveless (POST 8) in Race 4, and Gun Barrel City (POST 5) in Race 5. Pletcher's optional claiming runners and turf allowance horses are perennially well-prepared and his barn's readiness for key starts is among the best in the game. All three Pletcher entries deserve market respect beyond their morning line.

Linda Rice is active throughout the card with Current Climate (POST 3) in Race 1, Hot Gossip (POST 3) in Race 3, Minnesota Munny (POST 5) and I'm Buzzy (POST 6) in Race 4, and Chris's Song (POST 8) in Race 8. Rice has one of the best records among female trainers in the New York colony when it comes to placing horses in the right spots, and her dual-entry situation in Race 4 is worth monitoring for trainer intent signals through the rider assignments.

Ilkay Kantarmaci saddles multiple horses throughout today's card, appearing in nearly every race. Multiple entries from Kantarmaci in the same race appear in Races 1, 4, 5, and 6. The Kantarmaci barn has been among the most active outfits at Aqueduct this spring meet and the sheer volume of entries suggests this is a barn that is in good form and looking to accumulate wins. When Zayas is the designated jockey on a Kantarmaci runner in a multi-entry situation, it typically signals that is the barn's primary runner.

Jorge R. Abreu saddles Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5) in Race 7, the headlining entry in the Biogos Rosa B Stakes. Abreu has been one of the most consistent winning trainers in the New York colony over the past two seasons, with sharp horses at a variety of class levels. Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5) is clearly a serious stakes contender from this barn and the 2-1 morning line is not surprising.

Keri Brion has Sporting Lady (POST 1) in Race 2 and Launch Control (POST 6) in Race 6. The Launch Control (POST 6) angle in Race 6 is particularly compelling given the six post in a 16-horse inner turf sprint. Brion has shown a solid record with turf females in optional claiming company and this is a race to target for wagering.

Richard E. Dutrow has All Class (POST 8) in Race 2 and Exploration (POST 14) in Race 6. Dutrow runners always attract attention and the 4-1 morning lines on both suggest market confidence in their form. The TBA rider on both horses is the principal uncertainty to resolve.

BEST WAGERING STRATEGIES AND VALUE PLAYS

The best value play on today's card is Launch Control (POST 6) in Race 6. The combination of Keri Brion training, Ricardo Santana Jr. riding, and the six post in a 16-horse inner turf sprint creates a convergence of positive factors at 4-1 morning line odds. With New York Scrappy (POST 16) as the 2-1 favorite drawing the outside post and Russi (POST 10) as the 3-1 second choice from mid-field, Launch Control (POST 6) is the value selection with the most advantageous draw.

The second-best value is Foto (POST 3) in Race 8 at 12-1 with Ricardo Santana Jr. up. Santana does not typically accept 12-1 morning line rides in maiden claiming races without reason. This is a classic trainer-jockey angle in a highly unpredictable race type, and a small win bet or exacta saver is warranted.

For pick sequences, the most efficient pick structure today is:

Race 5 through Race 8 as a Pick 4. Using Goncora (POST 7) and Griffin's Wharf (POST 8) in Race 5, Russi (POST 10) and Launch Control (POST 6) in Race 6, Collect The Data (POST 7) and Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5) in Race 7, and El Paco (POST 6) and Chris's Song (POST 8) in Race 8 creates a 2x2x2x2 Pick 4 for 16 combinations. This is a manageable investment for a four-race sequence anchored by the featured stakes and capped by the maiden closer. The payout potential is enhanced by the 16-horse field in Race 6, which routinely produces upset results and inflated payouts in multi-race wagers.

For the featured Race 7 Biogos Rosa B Stakes, the exacta box of Collect The Data (POST 7), Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5), and Sweet Brown Sugar (POST 2) for three combinations is the primary structure. The trifecta key using Collect The Data (POST 7) on top with Bam's Bliss Kiss (POST 5), Sweet Brown Sugar (POST 2), and Walk With Me (POST 4) is the premium investment for the race of the day.

In Race 2, resolve the Franco conflict before wagering. The horse that retains Franco is the stronger bet; the horse that loses Franco will drift in the market and could be bet back at value on the tote with a replacement rider who also has upside. Artemis Sound (POST 7) at 4-1 for Pletcher is the most attractive win play if the TBA rider resolves favorably.

Avoid heavy win wagering on co-favorites across the card today. The card is structured with multiple races featuring clusters of 2-1 morning line horses, compressing win returns. The profit center today is multi-race exotics and trifectas in the larger fields, particularly Race 6.
