Pick Pony Track Condition Report — Parx Racing, May 18, 2026
Track Surface & Bias
Parx's main-track dirt profile typically plays fair but can lean a bit to speed when the surface is fast and tight, especially in the first few dirt races before it gets more cuppy or sealed. On a dry day, inside and forwardly placed horses often hold a slight edge, with outside closers needing either a hot pace or a cleaner trip to fully unwind.
If moisture comes into play, Parx can tighten up and reward runners who secure position early or sit just off the pace. In that setup, stalkers are often the most reliable type, while deep closers usually need an honest pace and a favorable draw to make the most impact.
