Track Surface & Bias

Saratoga's turf course on summer cards often rewards stalking trips and efficient ground-saving rides, especially when the rail is in play and the course is firm to good. On the dirt, the main track can lean slightly toward forwardly placed runners when the surface is fast and compact, with inside-to-middle posts generally preferred in routes and sprints.
