Belterra Park's dirt (D) surface typically plays fair to mildly speed-favoring in midsummer, with front-runners and pace-pressers holding an edge when the track is listed fast.[ ] Inside-to-middle posts on the dirt are generally preferred in sprints, while route races tend to play more evenly across post positions, with tactical speed still an advantage into the relatively short stretch.[ ]
