Race Day Overview — Albuquerque Downs, Sunday August 9, 2026

Albuquerque Downs kicks off what promises to be a full and competitive Sunday card featuring thirteen races, all contested at 440 yards on the dirt. Every race on the card is designated as a Trial, running under either BOF (Bred in New Mexico Filly) or BON (Bred in New Mexico) conditions, with each carrying a $10,000 purse. The trial format means horses are competing for advancement, and connections will be pushing hard for top finishes. The BOF designation covers the first five races, targeting New Mexico-bred fillies, while Races 6 through 13 are open BON trials for New Mexico-breds of either sex.

This is a marathon card for horseplayers, with thirteen consecutive quarter-horse sprints at 440 yards. The nature of the trial card creates some interesting dynamics: morning line favorites carry more pressure, and longshots who fire early will be rewarded with advancement regardless of pari-mutuel results. Trainers managing multiple horses across this card will be making strategic decisions about rider assignments and pre-race prep.

Notable trainer activity on this card includes Marc Jungers, who fields runners in Races 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13 — an extraordinary presence across almost every race. Jason Olmstead is similarly busy with horses entered in Races 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13. Rodolfo Valles and Manuel Rodriguez also appear throughout the card with multiple entrants. Edwin Escobedo picks up the majority of Jungers' mounts, while Luis Martinez handles most of Rodriguez's book. Ramiro Haro Garcia rides consistently for Olmstead. These stable-jockey partnerships will be key factors throughout the day.

Weather and Track Conditions — Albuquerque Downs, August 9, 2026

Albuquerque in early August is firmly in the heart of monsoon season, and the forecast for Sunday reflects that reality. Afternoon temperatures at the track are expected to reach the low 90s Fahrenheit, with a heat index somewhat moderated by elevation — Albuquerque sits above 5,300 feet above sea level, which keeps humidity lower than many southern tracks even during monsoon. Morning temperatures will be in the upper 60s with gradual warming through the post-time window.

The monsoon pattern brings a threat of afternoon thunderstorms, typically building after 2:00 PM local time. The early races should run under partly cloudy skies, but bettors should monitor conditions as the card progresses into the late afternoon. Any significant rainfall during the racing program could alter the track surface mid-card, with later races potentially running on a wet or sloppy strip. The New Mexico Racing Commission track maintenance crews at Albuquerque Downs are experienced with these conditions, and the track is typically harrowed and maintained quickly between races.

Under dry to fast conditions, Albuquerque Downs presents a tight, compact quarter-horse strip where early speed is paramount. The track has historically shown a modest outside post advantage in open fields, as horses breaking clean from wider posts avoid early traffic and can secure position along the rail or in the two-path. In a 440-yard race, there is virtually no room for recovery from a poor break — the entire race is decided in the first three to four strides off the gate and the ability to maintain that speed through the wire.

Track Bias and Post Position Analysis

At Albuquerque Downs in 440-yard sprints, post position analysis is critically important. Quarter-horse racing at this distance is almost entirely about the break and raw speed. Track maintenance and soil composition at Albuquerque favor horses who can secure a clean lane and run without interference.

In wide fields of eight or nine horses, the extreme inside posts (Posts 1 and 2) can sometimes be disadvantaged when the field is speed-heavy, as early traffic and bumping out of the gate can cost fractions. The middle posts — Posts 3 through 6 — tend to perform well at Albuquerque, as they allow clear paths with minimal interference. The outside posts in nine-horse fields (Posts 7, 8, 9) have historically been competitive at Albuquerque because horses breaking from wider posts often get the cleanest run. However, the very outside post (Post 9) can suffer from a disadvantage if the track is riding with any inside bias, as horses must cover slightly more ground.

On a fast, dry track in August, all posts are playable, but handicappers should lean toward horses with established gate speed who can explode out of the gate cleanly regardless of post. In the event of any rainfall making the track soft or muddy, the inside posts tend to play better at Albuquerque as the surface drainage flows toward the outside.

Given that these are trials rather than finals, some connections may be content with a top-three finish (qualifying) rather than an all-out effort for the win, which can occasionally create situations where horses show early speed without fully extending through the wire.

Race 1 — Post 2:00 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BOF | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

Eight fillies break from the gate in this BOF trial opener. With Toby Sis (POST 4) installed as the even-money morning line favorite and Lookatme Z (POST 2) at 3-1, there is a clear speed bias at the top of the market. In a 440-yard sprint, pace analysis is less about fractions and more about who fires first out of the gate. Toby Sis (POST 4) draws the critical middle post and projects as the speed of the speed in this field. Lookatme Z (POST 2) will attempt to match strides from the inside. Flying Joy 1 (POST 6) at 6-1 gives this race a legitimate third speed element. The question is whether the heavy chalk can get clear immediately.

Key Contenders

Toby Sis (POST 4) trained by Raymond Valerio and ridden by Francisco Calderon draws the pivotal Post 4 in an eight-horse field. Installed at even money, the morning line reflects genuine respect from the morning-line maker. Valerio is an experienced Albuquerque conditioner who knows this circuit well, and Calderon is an established presence in the New Mexico quarter-horse colony. In a BOF trial, the even-money tag on any horse should be respected, as these market prices are set by people familiar with morning workouts, gate behavior, and recent form. Toby Sis (POST 4) is the horse to beat.

Lookatme Z (POST 2) trained by Samuel Mendoza and ridden by Juan Pulido breaks from Post 2. At 3-1 on the morning line, this filly is the clear second choice and presents the most immediate challenge to the favorite. Pulido is one of the busier and more reliable riders on the Albuquerque circuit, and Mendoza has a good grasp of placing horses appropriately. Lookatme Z (POST 2) should break alertly and could be head-and-head with the chalk through the run.

Secondary Choices

Flying Joy 1 (POST 6) from trainer S. Trey Wood and jockey Ricky Ramirez exits Post 6 at 6-1. Wood is a trainer worth watching throughout this card with multiple entrants, and this filly at 6-1 represents a potentially undervalued runner. In a wide-open trial, Flying Joy 1 (POST 6) could benefit from a clean outside post and fire late to qualify in the top spots.

Eyedeale (POST 7) trained by Juan Vazquez and ridden by James Flores breaks from Post 7 at 10-1. Vazquez is a competent Albuquerque-based trainer, and at double-digit odds, Eyedeale (POST 7) could surprise if the favorites tangle early.

Longshots

Diamond Cowgirl 123 (POST 5) at 15-1 for trainer Marc Jungers and jockey Edwin Escobedo is the most notable longshot to consider. Jungers is extremely active on this card, and Diamond Cowgirl 123 (POST 5) draws a favorable middle post. In quarter-horse trials, active trainers sometimes have a sleeper hidden at long odds. My Favorite Sass (POST 3) at 20-1 for Joel Gonzales and Rodrigo Sigala Vallejo is likely outclassed here but will break cleanly. Starr Train (POST 1) at 20-1 for trainer Marco Flores and jockey Jose Luis Enriquez faces a tough inside draw. Candy Slam (POST 8) at 30-1 for Justin Joiner and Mario Delgado is the longest shot on the board and unlikely to factor unless chaos ensues from the gate.

Selections

Win: Toby Sis (POST 4) Place: Lookatme Z (POST 2) Show: Flying Joy 1 (POST 6)

Betting Strategy: Single Toby Sis (POST 4) on top of all exotics as the chalk. Use Lookatme Z (POST 2) and Flying Joy 1 (POST 6) as the underneath legs. An exacta of Toby Sis (POST 4) over Lookatme Z (POST 2) is the primary ticket. A trifecta box of Toby Sis (POST 4), Lookatme Z (POST 2), and Flying Joy 1 (POST 6) offers a reasonable return if the top three come in. At even money, Toby Sis (POST 4) is not a strong win play from a value standpoint, but she anchors all exotics.

Race 2 — Post 2:25 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BOF | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

Nine fillies in a BOF trial creates a crowded gate. With three co-favorites at 3-1 and 4-1 — Wera C (POST 2), Sparks Fly Hr (POST 1), and Rock Star Martini (POST 7) — this race is more evenly contested than the opener. Speed will be spread across the field, with horses from Posts 1, 2, and 7 all capable of breaking sharply. Shezdanstyforsure (POST 5) at 6-1 adds another speed element. With nine horses breaking across 440 yards, clean breaks are everything.

Key Contenders

Wera C (POST 2) trained by Marco Adair Chavez-Gutierrez and ridden by Jonathan Dominguez is the 3-1 morning line co-favorite. Sitting in Post 2 in a nine-horse field gives this filly a favorable draw — she can break quickly and secure position along the inside without fighting traffic. Dominguez is an active jockey on the circuit and should get Wera C (POST 2) away cleanly.

Rock Star Martini (POST 7) trained by Rodolfo Valles and ridden by Joseph Belloc Jr. comes in at 4-1 from the outside third of the gate. Valles runs several horses throughout today's card and appears well-connected on this circuit. Belloc is an experienced hand and should ensure Rock Star Martini (POST 7) gets maximum effort from the gate. The outside Post 7 in a nine-horse field is workable at Albuquerque.

Sparks Fly Hr (POST 1) trained by Manuel Rodriguez and ridden by Luis Martinez gets the rail post at 4-1. Martinez rides frequently for Rodriguez throughout this card, and the inside post can be a liability in a full field. However, if Sparks Fly Hr (POST 1) breaks on top, she can avoid traffic entirely.

Secondary Choices

Shezdanstyforsure (POST 5) from trainer Adam Archuleta and jockey James Flores at 6-1 exits the pivotal middle post. In a nine-horse field, Post 5 is as neutral as it gets, and if this filly fires, she could be splitting the field at the wire. Archuleta is a capable New Mexico trainer.

Exxquisite (POST 4) trained by Jason Olmstead and ridden by Ramiro Haro Garcia at 8-1 is worth noting. Olmstead is one of the most active trainers on today's card, and when he sends horses out at moderate odds in trials, they tend to show up. Exxquisite (POST 4) from Post 4 is ideally placed.

Longshots

Kj Flashing Candy (POST 8) at 10-1 for Wesley Giles and Gabriel Medrano. Blackberri Smoke (POST 3) at 10-1 for John Stinebaugh and Gilberto Linares — Stinebaugh sends runners throughout this card and occasionally lands a big price. Candy Baby (POST 9) at 15-1 for Michael Valenzuela and E.R. Ramirez breaks from the extreme outside. Shannons Dynasty (POST 6) at 15-1 for Marc Jungers and Edwin Escobedo — Jungers' second entrant on the card, and the price is large enough that a good break could provide some value.

Selections

Win: Wera C (POST 2) Place: Rock Star Martini (POST 7) Show: Sparks Fly Hr (POST 1)

Betting Strategy: The three-way competition at the top of the market makes this a trifecta race. Box Wera C (POST 2), Rock Star Martini (POST 7), and Sparks Fly Hr (POST 1) in a trifecta. For more value, include Shezdanstyforsure (POST 5) as a fourth horse in a part-wheel. An exacta wheel of Wera C (POST 2) over Rock Star Martini (POST 7) and Sparks Fly Hr (POST 1) is the primary play.

Race 3 — Post 2:50 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BOF | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

Nine fillies line up in this BOF trial with a clear 2-1 morning line favorite in Apollirevenge (POST 3). The field is spread across several price points, and the pace scenario is interesting given that Illegal Cowgirl 123 (POST 5) at 3-1 and Ruse Ticle Knockout (POST 4) at 4-1 are positioned in adjacent posts to the favorite. Posts 3, 4, and 5 create a central speed cluster that could result in gate bumping if any of these three horses drift at the break. Mw Bcause Im First (POST 6) adds another competitive element from a slightly wider draw.

Key Contenders

Apollirevenge (POST 3) trained by Jed Vane and ridden by Jesus Rios Ayala is the morning line favorite at 2-1. Vane handles horses with Apolitical blood throughout this card — a sire known for producing fast quarter-horse sprinters. Apollirevenge (POST 3) from Post 3 has a clean draw and should be out of trouble immediately. Ayala is a capable pilot who handles Vane's horses throughout today's card.

Illegal Cowgirl 123 (POST 5) trained by Jason Olmstead and ridden by Ramiro Haro Garcia at 3-1 is the second choice and sits just outside the favorite. Olmstead is one of the most prolific trainers on this card, and Illegal Cowgirl 123 (POST 5) is priced to represent genuine competition. Garcia rides consistently well for this barn.

Secondary Choices

Ruse Ticle Knockout (POST 4) trained by Marc Jungers and ridden by Edwin Escobedo at 4-1 breaks from Post 4, sandwiched between the two favorites. In a 440-yard sprint, breaking between two horses with similar speed could create contact, but if Ruse Ticle Knockout (POST 4) fires cleanly, the middle post is favorable. Jungers and Escobedo connect frequently and at a strong clip.

Mw Bcause Im First (POST 6) trained by Rodolfo Valles and ridden by Christian Cardenas at 6-1 offers another credible threat from just outside the speed cluster. Valles' horses are consistent performers at this level.

Longshots

Dakota Stone (POST 1) at 12-1 for John Stinebaugh and Gilberto Linares from the rail. Beautiful Temptation (POST 2) at 15-1 for David Gomez-Barraza and Luis Martinez. Lt Say When (POST 7) at 15-1 for Wesley Giles and Gabriel Medrano — Giles has multiple runners on the card and could spring a surprise. Flying Dynasty (POST 8) at 20-1 for Manuel Rodriguez and Gerardo Vera. Crapoliticaldiamond (POST 9) at 20-1 for Rolando Almanza and Francisco Raul Ramirez Jr. from the extreme outside — likely too much ground to make up in 440 yards.

Selections

Win: Apollirevenge (POST 3) Place: Illegal Cowgirl 123 (POST 5) Show: Ruse Ticle Knockout (POST 4)

Betting Strategy: Apollirevenge (POST 3) at 2-1 is a legitimate favorite with Vane's Apolitical connections. The exacta of Apollirevenge (POST 3) over Illegal Cowgirl 123 (POST 5) is the primary play. A trifecta part-wheel of Apollirevenge (POST 3) with Illegal Cowgirl 123 (POST 5) and Ruse Ticle Knockout (POST 4) in various combinations is recommended. The 2-1 price means singles on the win are low value — focus on exotics.

Race 4 — Post 3:15 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BOF | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

Eight fillies go in this BOF trial with Full Moon Desire (POST 4) the even-money favorite and Bandita (POST 5) the 3-1 second choice. The pace scenario here closely mirrors Race 1, with a heavy chalk in the pivotal Post 4 flanked by a strong second choice in Post 5. If both fire simultaneously, it creates an interesting confrontation in the first stride that could benefit horses breaking cleanly from wider draws. Remarkable Cowgirl (POST 6) at 4-1 gives the race a third significant speed element from just outside.

Key Contenders

Full Moon Desire (POST 4) trained by Heber Deyta-Melendez and ridden by Juan Pulido is the even-money favorite. Pulido is the most active jockey on this card, handling multiple mounts throughout the day across several top barns. Deyta-Melendez is a competent trainer at this level. Full Moon Desire (POST 4) from the ideal middle post draws comparisons to Toby Sis (POST 4) in Race 1 — chalk from Post 4 deserves full respect in these trials.

Bandita (POST 5) trained by Marc Jungers and ridden by Edwin Escobedo at 3-1 is Jungers' Race 4 representative, and Escobedo handles the mount. This partnership has shown up consistently throughout the card, and Bandita (POST 5) from Post 5 with a clean break could push the favorite all the way to the wire.

Secondary Choices

Remarkable Cowgirl (POST 6) trained by Marco Flores and ridden by Sergio Becerra Jr. at 4-1 exits Post 6. Flores trains Starr Train (POST 1) in Race 1 as well, and Remarkable Cowgirl (POST 6) carries more market respect at 4-1. Becerra is a solid jockey on the circuit.

Rc Asticos Kitten (POST 3) trained by Jorge Morales-Flores and ridden by Raul Ortega at 10-1 is a live longshot if the inside posts produce. Morales-Flores is a less-prominent name on this card but should not be ignored entirely.

Longshots

Feliz Dreaming (POST 2) at 15-1 for Manuel Rodriguez and Luis Martinez. Sin Tachas Favorite (POST 7) at 15-1 for S. Trey Wood and Ricky Ramirez from Post 7. Windbeneathherwings (POST 1) at 20-1 for Clinton Crawford and Jacob Enriquez from the rail — tough spot from Post 1 in an eight-horse field. Aj Gold Player (POST 8) at 20-1 for Justin Joiner and Francisco Calderon from the outside — Calderon is on the chart favorite in Race 1 but transitions here at a long price.

Selections

Win: Full Moon Desire (POST 4) Place: Bandita (POST 5) Show: Remarkable Cowgirl (POST 6)

Betting Strategy: Mirror the Race 1 approach. Full Moon Desire (POST 4) anchors all exotic wagers. Exacta of Full Moon Desire (POST 4) over Bandita (POST 5) is the base ticket. Trifecta of Full Moon Desire (POST 4), Bandita (POST 5), and Remarkable Cowgirl (POST 6) in a wheel. Rc Asticos Kitten (POST 3) at 10-1 is worth a sprinkle in the trifecta third slot for value.

Race 5 — Post 3:40 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BOF | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

Nine fillies close out the BOF portion of the card. Dr Americas Dynasty (POST 8) at 3-1 and Where Is Queen B (POST 3) and Shimmery (POST 6) share the 4-1 co-second choice price. This race has a more spread-out price structure than the previous BOF trials, suggesting a more genuinely contested field. The pace dynamic here features several speed types across multiple posts, and the wide field could result in early congestion.

Key Contenders

Dr Americas Dynasty (POST 8) trained by Jed Vane and ridden by Juan Pulido is the 3-1 favorite from Post 8. Vane runs Dr Americas Dynasty (POST 8) alongside other prominent runners on this card, and Pulido handles the mount. Post 8 in a nine-horse field at Albuquerque is workable, and the wide draw could actually help Dr Americas Dynasty (POST 8) get a clean lane immediately.

Where Is Queen B (POST 3) trained by Rodolfo Valles and ridden by Christian Cardenas at 4-1 breaks from a favorable Post 3. Valles is among the most active trainers on the card and places his horses carefully. Cardenas is sharp from the gate and should get Where Is Queen B (POST 3) away cleanly.

Shimmery (POST 6) trained by Tony Lello and ridden by Jacob Enriquez at 4-1 breaks from Post 6. Lello is not as frequently represented on this card as other trainers, which makes Shimmery (POST 6) worth a closer look — when smaller operations are this well-priced, there is often something behind the number.

Secondary Choices

Shes Judge Tee (POST 2) trained by John Stinebaugh and ridden by Gilberto Linares at 6-1 exits Post 2. Stinebaugh is active throughout the day and this pair — Shes Judge Tee (POST 2) with Linares — shows up multiple times on the card with competitive prices.

Ms Famous Corona (POST 1) trained by Wesley Giles and ridden by Noe Garcia Jr. at 8-1 breaks from the rail. Giles is a productive Albuquerque trainer, and Ms Famous Corona (POST 1) from the inside at a price is a horse to watch if she breaks sharply.

Longshots

Post Time Favorite (POST 4) at 10-1 for David Gomez-Barraza and Oscar Andrade Jr. — somewhat ironic naming for a double-digit morning line price. On The Monee (POST 7) at 12-1 for Manuel Rodriguez and Luis Martinez — Rodriguez's runner in this spot at a price. A Twisted Cowgirl (POST 5) at 15-1 for Tammy Johnson and Jonathan Dominguez. Her Majessty (POST 9) at 20-1 for Jason Olmstead and Ramiro Haro Garcia from the extreme outside — Olmstead's representative in this BOF closer is priced at the longest on the board.

Selections

Win: Dr Americas Dynasty (POST 8) Place: Where Is Queen B (POST 3) Show: Shimmery (POST 6)

Betting Strategy: Dr Americas Dynasty (POST 8) at 3-1 offers reasonable win value. An exacta wheel of Dr Americas Dynasty (POST 8) with Where Is Queen B (POST 3), Shimmery (POST 6), and Shes Judge Tee (POST 2) covers the top threats. Shimmery (POST 6) at 4-1 with a different trainer angle could be a straight win value play. Consider boxing the top three in the exacta.

Race 6 — Post 4:05 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BON | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

The card transitions to BON competition — open to New Mexico-breds of either sex — beginning with Race 6. Nine runners go here with Famous N Relentless (POST 1) as the 2-1 morning line favorite. The BON division at Albuquerque tends to be more competitive than the BOF races, and this race is no exception, with three live runners below 5-1. The pace scenario is complicated by the nine-horse field and the favorite's inside draw — Famous N Relentless (POST 1) from Post 1 must break quickly or risk being engulfed by the field.

Key Contenders

Famous N Relentless (POST 1) trained by Jason Olmstead and ridden by Ramiro Haro Garcia is the 2-1 morning line favorite despite drawing the rail. Olmstead is clearly one of the marquee trainers on this card, and Garcia rides for him consistently. The 2-1 price on a horse from Post 1 in a nine-horse field tells you something — this horse is considered significantly superior to the field. Famous N Relentless (POST 1) needs a clean break to avoid early traffic, but if the gate opens cleanly, the rail post becomes irrelevant in a 440-yard sprint.

Capos Train Station (POST 2) trained by Rodolfo Valles and ridden by Joseph Belloc Jr. at 4-1 sits in Post 2 directly outside the favorite. Valles has runners throughout this card and Capos Train Station (POST 2) with Belloc is well-positioned to challenge from a clean draw.

Dr Stone Cold (POST 4) trained by Jed Vane and ridden by Juan Pulido at 4-1 exits Post 4. Vane runs multiple horses today with Pulido aboard, and the name suggests possible Apolitical bloodlines. Post 4 is ideal in a nine-horse field, and Dr Stone Cold (POST 4) could be a major player.

Secondary Choices

Revolutionary V (POST 3) trained by Raymond Valerio and ridden by Francisco Calderon at 6-1 breaks from Post 3. Valerio has sent out a 1-1 favorite already on this card in Toby Sis (POST 4) in Race 1, and Revolutionary V (POST 3) at 6-1 could be undervalued.

Rf Runaway Cowboy (POST 6) trained by Marc Jungers and ridden by Edwin Escobedo at 8-1. Jungers has runners almost every race today and Rf Runaway Cowboy (POST 6) is a live outsider in the first BON sprint.

Longshots

Kj Xquizit Jess (POST 5) at 10-1 for Wesley Giles and Gabriel Medrano — Giles is a solid conditioner throughout this card. Temptmeknott (POST 8) at 12-1 for Omar Vargas and Jose Luis Enriquez. San Fernando Creek (POST 9) at 15-1 for John Stinebaugh and Gilberto Linares from the far outside. Mid Town Cartel (POST 7) at 20-1 for Marco Flores and Jose Enrique Ortiz from Post 7 — longest shot in this race alongside Famous N Relentless (POST 1)'s field, though the favorite is clearly not the 20-1.

Selections

Win: Famous N Relentless (POST 1) Place: Dr Stone Cold (POST 4) Show: Capos Train Station (POST 2)

Betting Strategy: Famous N Relentless (POST 1) at 2-1 from the rail is a tough win bet from a value standpoint, but the exacta of Famous N Relentless (POST 1) over Dr Stone Cold (POST 4) and Capos Train Station (POST 2) offers reasonable returns. Trifecta part-wheel of Famous N Relentless (POST 1) with Dr Stone Cold (POST 4) and Capos Train Station (POST 2) in the second and third slots is the primary approach. Include Revolutionary V (POST 3) as a trifecta saver.

Race 7 — Post 4:30 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BON | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

Nine runners contest this BON trial with Jarvis V (POST 2) as the dominant 1-1 morning line favorite. The even-money price — the shortest on the card since Toby Sis (POST 4) in Race 1 and Full Moon Desire (POST 4) in Race 4 — commands immediate attention. Lethal Lobo (POST 6) and Ajs Wingman (POST 7) share the 4-1 co-second choice role. The pace here should be straightforward with Jarvis V (POST 2) expected to fire quickly from Post 2 and clear the field, but secondary speed from Posts 6 and 7 will push the pace.

Key Contenders

Jarvis V (POST 2) trained by Raymond Valerio and ridden by Francisco Calderon is the 1-1 favorite from Post 2. This is Valerio's second favorite on the card, and Calderon is aboard again. Post 2 is an excellent draw in a nine-horse field — far enough from the rail to avoid traffic while still positioned favorably inside. At even money, this horse has been pointed toward this trial specifically and connections are confident.

Lethal Lobo (POST 6) trained by Wesley Giles and ridden by Noe Garcia Jr. at 4-1 is the top price play in this race. Giles has runners throughout the card and Lethal Lobo (POST 6) exits a comfortable middle-to-outside post. Garcia Jr. rides aggressively from the gate.

Ajs Wingman (POST 7) trained by Jason Olmstead and ridden by Ramiro Haro Garcia at 4-1 represents Olmstead's Runner in this race. Post 7 gives Ajs Wingman (POST 7) room to run, and Garcia rides well for this stable. Olmstead's horses are live throughout this card.

Secondary Choices

Get Gone 123 (POST 4) trained by John Stinebaugh and ridden by Gilberto Linares at 8-1 breaks from the center post. Stinebaugh's horses have been competitive throughout the card, and LINARES rides multiple Stinebaugh horses today. At 8-1 from Post 4, Get Gone 123 (POST 4) deserves consideration as a value play.

Seven Summers Ago (POST 9) trained by Jed Vane and ridden by Juan Pulido at 12-1 represents Vane's second entrant in this race alongside his favorite from Race 6. From the extreme outside at 12-1, Seven Summers Ago (POST 9) is a longer price but Vane-Pulido combinations have been live all day.

Longshots

Barbed Wired (POST 1) at 15-1 for Marc Jungers and Edwin Escobedo from the rail. Cyber Class Act (POST 8) at 15-1 for Rodolfo Valles and Jesse James Gonzales. Apolitical Design (POST 3) at 20-1 for Marco Flores and Jose Enrique Ortiz — the Apolitical name suggests a bloodline connection. Cuz Aldrin (POST 5) at 20-1 for Guillermo Valdivia and Jesus Rios Ayala from the middle post — largest price in this race.

Selections

Win: Jarvis V (POST 2) Place: Lethal Lobo (POST 6) Show: Ajs Wingman (POST 7)

Betting Strategy: Jarvis V (POST 2) at even money needs to anchor all exotics but is not a strong straight win bet. The exacta of Jarvis V (POST 2) over Lethal Lobo (POST 6) and Ajs Wingman (POST 7) is the play. Include Get Gone 123 (POST 4) as a live longshot in the trifecta. A trifecta part-wheel of Jarvis V (POST 2) over Lethal Lobo (POST 6) and Ajs Wingman (POST 7) with all three in the third slot is recommended.

Race 8 — Post 4:55 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BON | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

Nine runners go in this BON trial. Effortless Favorite (POST 4) at 3-1 is the morning line favorite, with King Estate (POST 1) and Mr High Five (POST 5) co-second choices at 4-1. The card has seen a pattern of favorites from Posts 4 and 5 performing well, and this race continues that trend. Effortless Favorite (POST 4) exits the ideal center post, while King Estate (POST 1) must overcome the inside draw and Merkaba (POST 9) breaks from the extreme outside at 6-1.

Key Contenders

Effortless Favorite (POST 4) trained by Jason Olmstead and ridden by Francisco Raul Ramirez Jr. at 3-1. Olmstead uses Ramirez Jr. here rather than his typical Garcia, which is a note worth making. The post is ideal and Olmstead's stable has been well-represented all day. Effortless Favorite (POST 4) at 3-1 from the center post is a strong play.

Mr High Five (POST 5) trained by Marco Flores and ridden by Sergio Becerra Jr. at 4-1 exits Post 5, directly outside the favorite. Flores trains several horses on this card and Mr High Five (POST 5) is given second-choice market respect. Post 5 is excellent, and Becerra rides with competence throughout New Mexico.

King Estate (POST 1) trained by Rodolfo Valles and ridden by Christian Cardenas at 4-1. Valles' first runner in the BON races has drawn the rail, and Cardenas will need to break sharply to avoid being shuffled back. The 4-1 price on a Valles horse from the inside suggests genuine speed.

Secondary Choices

Merkaba (POST 9) trained by Clinton Crawford and ridden by Jacob Enriquez at 6-1 breaks from the extreme outside. Crawford does not have a full stable presence on this card, which makes this runner interesting — when smaller operations carry competitive prices, they often have specific information behind the number.

Cowboy Corona 123 (POST 2) trained by Wesley Giles and ridden by Gabriel Medrano at 8-1 exits Post 2. Giles is an active presence throughout the card, and Cowboy Corona 123 (POST 2) at 8-1 with a clean inside draw could outrun the price.

Longshots

Significant One (POST 6) at 10-1 for Marc Jungers and Edwin Escobedo — Jungers' Race 8 representative. Dr Make It Sweet (POST 8) at 10-1 for Jed Vane and Juan Pulido — Vane-Pulido have been live all card. Apollitical Olympian (POST 7) at 15-1 for Omar Vargas and Jose Enrique Ortiz — the Apolitical bloodline connection. Ponotoc Mountain (POST 3) at 15-1 for John Stinebaugh and Gilberto Linares.

Selections

Win: Effortless Favorite (POST 4) Place: Mr High Five (POST 5) Show: Merkaba (POST 9)

Betting Strategy: Effortless Favorite (POST 4) at 3-1 is the best win-value favorite on the card so far among the post-4 selections. The exacta of Effortless Favorite (POST 4) over Mr High Five (POST 5) is the base play. Add Merkaba (POST 9) and King Estate (POST 1) in the third slot of trifectas for coverage. Dr Make It Sweet (POST 8) at 10-1 for the Vane-Pulido connection is worth a small exotic inclusion.

Race 9 — Post 5:20 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BON | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

Nine runners in a BON trial with a split at the top of the market. Luziana Man (POST 6) at 3-1 is the morning line favorite, with Envestor (POST 5) and Jc Speeding (POST 9) sharing the 4-1 co-second choice price. The pace scenario is particularly interesting here because the 4-1 co-favorite sits on the extreme outside in Post 9. Jc Speeding (POST 9) will need to break instantly to offset the wide draw. Envestor (POST 5) from the middle post has an easier assignment and Luziana Man (POST 6) from Post 6 has a clean outside path.

Key Contenders

Luziana Man (POST 6) trained by Jose Lopez and ridden by Manuel Gutierrez is the 3-1 morning line favorite. Lopez and Gutierrez are a combination that does not appear on other races today, making Luziana Man (POST 6) something of a standalone entrant from an independent operation. When trainers and jockeys not widely represented on a card send out a morning line favorite, the horses often have strong credentials. Post 6 is clean and the price is competitive.

Envestor (POST 5) trained by Zackary Stinebaugh (note: different from John Stinebaugh, who appears throughout the card) and ridden by Gilberto Linares at 4-1. This is an interesting note — Linares rides several Stinebaugh horses across the card, but this is ZACKARY Stinebaugh rather than John. A family connection may exist. Envestor (POST 5) from Post 5 is ideally drawn.

Jc Speeding (POST 9) trained by Dee Keener and ridden by James Flores at 4-1 from the far outside. Keener appears with a runner in Race 12 as well, a small but consistent presence. Jc Speeding (POST 9) at 4-1 from Post 9 will need to be at the top of its game from the gate.

Secondary Choices

The Diesel Train (POST 1) trained by Luis Daniel Iturralde and ridden by Jose Luis Enriquez at 6-1 from the rail. Iturralde does not appear elsewhere on this card, making this a standalone operation that merits attention if the price holds.

Whos The V (POST 3) trained by Raymond Valerio and ridden by Francisco Calderon at 8-1. Valerio's Race 9 representative at 8-1 from Post 3 — a clean inside draw at a price.

Longshots

Stellor (POST 2) at 10-1 for Samuel Mendoza and Juan Pulido — Mendoza trained Lookatme Z (POST 2) in Race 1 and Pulido is here as well. Dragon Link (POST 7) at 10-1 for Manuel Rodriguez and Luis Martinez — Rodriguez and Martinez are consistently present throughout the card. Jessie Boy (POST 4) at 15-1 for Joel Gonzales and Adrian Morales. Ab Seis Coronas (POST 8) at 15-1 for Justin Joiner and Jesus Rios Ayala.

Selections

Win: Luziana Man (POST 6) Place: Envestor (POST 5) Show: Jc Speeding (POST 9)

Betting Strategy: Luziana Man (POST 6) at 3-1 is a fair price for the morning line top choice. The combination of Posts 5 and 6 breaking next to each other creates a natural exacta key. Wheel Luziana Man (POST 6) over Envestor (POST 5), Jc Speeding (POST 9), and The Diesel Train (POST 1) in the exacta. Envestor (POST 5) at 4-1 is also a strong win contender and could be played in a reverse exacta.

Race 10 — Post 5:45 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BON | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

Nine runners contest this BON trial, and Political Twist (POST 3) is the dominant 1-1 morning line favorite — the shortest price outside of the Race 7 favorite Jarvis V (POST 2). The Manuel Rodriguez trainee with Luis Martinez aboard at even money presents the clearest betting favorite since the early races. King Of The Tide (POST 4) and Midnite Smokin (POST 5) share the 4-1 co-second choice market. Posts 3, 4, and 5 once again form a central cluster of top contenders, mirroring the pattern seen throughout the card.

Key Contenders

Political Twist (POST 3) trained by Manuel Rodriguez and ridden by Luis Martinez is the even-money morning line favorite. Rodriguez and Martinez have been represented throughout the entire card, and Political Twist (POST 3) is their most heavily backed runner. The even-money price from Post 3 in a nine-horse field is a strong market signal. Post 3 is excellent for a gate-speed horse, allowing a clean break without rail traffic.

King Of The Tide (POST 4) trained by S. Trey Wood and ridden by Ricky Ramirez at 4-1. Wood sends King Of The Tide (POST 4) from Post 4, directly outside the favorite. Ramirez rides Wood's horses throughout the card. King Of The Tide (POST 4) at 4-1 from the center post represents genuine value if Political Twist (POST 3) is even the slightest bit compromised.

Midnite Smokin (POST 5) trained by Rodolfo Valles and ridden by Christian Cardenas at 4-1 is another Valles runner on the card. Valles is one of the top active trainers today and Midnite Smokin (POST 5) from Post 5 with Cardenas gets a clean outside draw.

Secondary Choices

Jess Cartel Blue (POST 9) trained by John Stinebaugh and ridden by Gilberto Linares at 12-1 breaks from the far outside. Stinebaugh has runners throughout the card, and Linares handles multiple Stinebaugh mounts today. At 12-1, Jess Cartel Blue (POST 9) is a value play in exotics.

Famous Talk (POST 1) trained by James Julian Gonzales II and ridden by Joseph Belloc Jr. at 8-1 takes the rail. Relentless Wine (POST 6) at 15-1 for Jason Olmstead and Ramiro Haro Garcia is a potential Olmstead surprise at a big price.

Longshots

Sinnin Double (POST 2) at 20-1 for Marc Jungers and Edwin Escobedo — the pair rarely factors at these long prices but are worth a small exotic inclusion. Expenssive Boots (POST 7) at 15-1 for Heber Deyta-Melendez and Juan Pulido. Rr Hallowed Hero (POST 8) at 20-1 for Tony Sedillo and Oscar Andrade Jr.

Selections

Win: Political Twist (POST 3) Place: King Of The Tide (POST 4) Show: Midnite Smokin (POST 5)

Betting Strategy: Political Twist (POST 3) at even money is the dominant play in this race. The exacta of Political Twist (POST 3) over King Of The Tide (POST 4) and Midnite Smokin (POST 5) is the key bet. A trifecta part-wheel of Political Twist (POST 3) with King Of The Tide (POST 4) and Midnite Smokin (POST 5) in second and third, along with Jess Cartel Blue (POST 9) as a longshot trifecta saver, provides good coverage.

Race 11 — Post 6:10 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BON | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

Nine runners go in this BON trial with Gf Shes Sinful (POST 1) at 2-1 and Enforce (POST 2) at 3-1 creating a fascinating inside speed duel scenario. Unlike most races on this card where the favorites are drawn in the middle posts, here the top two choices are Posts 1 and 2 — the rail and adjacent slot in a nine-horse field. The pace dynamic is set up for an early head-to-head confrontation on the inside, which could theoretically benefit horses breaking from middle or outside draws if the two inside favorites impede each other.

Key Contenders

Gf Shes Sinful (POST 1) trained by Wesley Giles and ridden by Noe Garcia Jr. is the 2-1 favorite from the rail. Giles has been active throughout this card, and Gf Shes Sinful (POST 1) represents his highest-profile runner. The rail post at 2-1 means the morning line maker is confident this horse has the gate speed to clear trouble immediately. Garcia Jr. is an experienced pilot who knows how to manage inside draws.

Enforce (POST 2) trained by Christopher O'Dell and ridden by Jesus Rios Ayala at 3-1. O'Dell is not a widely represented trainer on this card, which makes Enforce (POST 2) an interesting play — this horse has earned morning line respect without a large stable presence, suggesting genuine ability. Ayala has ridden Vane's horses throughout the day and brings experience.

Cyber Blues (POST 4) trained by Rodolfo Valles and ridden by Joseph Belloc Jr. at 4-1 exits Post 4 in a strong position. Valles has had multiple contenders throughout the card, and Cyber Blues (POST 4) from the center post could split the inside speed and run past both if the leaders get into each other.

Secondary Choices

Hitman V (POST 6) trained by Raymond Valerio and ridden by Francisco Calderon at 6-1. Valerio has sent out the race-favorite on multiple occasions today, and Hitman V (POST 6) at 6-1 from Post 6 is a competitive price for this barn.

Wynston (POST 9) trained by Marc Jungers and ridden by Edwin Escobedo at 12-1 from the outside. Jungers and Escobedo connect throughout the card, and the outside post on a dry track gives Wynston (POST 9) a clean path.

Longshots

Jess Hot Z (POST 3) at 15-1 for John Stinebaugh and Gilberto Linares — Stinebaugh's Race 11 entrant. Racket Ridge (POST 7) at 15-1 for Jason Olmstead and Francisco Raul J. Ramirez — note the different Ramirez here versus Race 8. Ab Distinctive Blood (POST 5) at 20-1 for Marco Flores and Sergio Becerra Jr. Gotta Candy Habit (POST 8) at 20-1 for Joel Gonzales and Raul Ortega.

Selections

Win: Gf Shes Sinful (POST 1) Place: Enforce (POST 2) Show: Cyber Blues (POST 4)

Betting Strategy: The Rail-Post 2 speed confrontation is the story of this race. Gf Shes Sinful (POST 1) and Enforce (POST 2) will be head-to-head from the gate. The exacta of Gf Shes Sinful (POST 1) over Enforce (POST 2) and vice versa should both be played. Cyber Blues (POST 4) at 4-1 is a legitimate trifecta player if the inside pair tangle slightly. Consider a win parlay on Gf Shes Sinful (POST 1) if earlier selections have cashed.

Race 12 — Post 6:35 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BON | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

Nine runners in the penultimate BON trial. Point Blank Range (POST 5) is the 2-1 morning line favorite, with Faust (POST 8) and Rovos Rail (POST 9) sharing the 4-1 co-second choice price. Notably, the co-second choices are both from the outside posts — Post 8 and Post 9 — in a nine-horse field. This creates a pace scenario where the favorite breaks from the middle while two of the top three horses break from the far outside, potentially giving Point Blank Range (POST 5) clear sailing if the inside is clear.

Key Contenders

Point Blank Range (POST 5) trained by Dee Keener and ridden by Roman Cruz is the 2-1 morning line favorite. Keener also runs Jc Speeding (POST 9) in Race 9. Point Blank Range (POST 5) from the ideal center post with Cruz aboard draws comparisons to Political Twist (POST 3) and Jarvis V (POST 2) as clear-cut morning line leaders. Post 5 in a nine-horse field is arguably the best draw on the card, and 2-1 suggests this horse is genuinely regarded as superior to the field.

Faust (POST 8) trained by Salvador Soto and ridden by Gabriel Medrano at 4-1. Soto is not widely represented on this card, making Faust (POST 8) another independent entrant worth monitoring. Medrano rides multiple horses throughout the day. Post 8 from the outside is workable, and a 4-1 price from an unheralded stable is a potential value spot.

Rovos Rail (POST 9) trained by James Julian Gonzales II and ridden by Joseph Belloc Jr. at 4-1 from the extreme outside. Gonzales II also runs Famous Talk (POST 1) in Race 10. Belloc rides multiple mounts throughout the card and handles Rovos Rail (POST 9) from Post 9 — the widest draw at the biggest price tied with Faust (POST 8).

Secondary Choices

Jm Commander (POST 2) trained by Arnulfo Cardenas and ridden by Francisco Zamora at 6-1 breaks from Post 2. Cardenas and Zamora are not heavily represented on this card, making Jm Commander (POST 2) an interesting independent entrant.

Jusk As Tempting (POST 3) trained by Jason Olmstead and ridden by Ramiro Haro Garcia at 8-1. Olmstead's Race 12 entrant at 8-1 from Post 3 — Olmstead has been active throughout the day.

Longshots

Hes No Politician (POST 1) at 10-1 for Manuel Rodriguez and Luis Martinez — Rodriguez and Martinez from the rail at a price. Favorito Cartier (POST 6) at 12-1 for Heber Deyta-Melendez and Juan Pulido. Return To Reason (POST 7) at 15-1 for Alvaro Hinojos and Luis Alonso Gutierrez Jr. — an independent trainer not widely represented. I Make Candy (POST 4) at 20-1 for Tony Sedillo and Oscar Andrade Jr.

Selections

Win: Point Blank Range (POST 5) Place: Faust (POST 8) Show: Rovos Rail (POST 9)

Betting Strategy: Point Blank Range (POST 5) at 2-1 from the ideal post dominates the wagering. An exacta of Point Blank Range (POST 5) over Faust (POST 8) and Rovos Rail (POST 9) is the primary play. The outside two horses offer intriguing value in the exacta and trifecta. A trifecta box of Point Blank Range (POST 5), Faust (POST 8), and Rovos Rail (POST 9) at reasonable cost could yield strong returns given the prices of the two secondary horses.

Race 13 — Post 7:00 PM — 440f | D | N | Trial | BON | Purse $10,000

Pace Analysis

The card closes with nine runners in the final BON trial under the lights. Flying Chance (POST 1) is the 2-1 morning line favorite from the rail, with Unleeshed (POST 2) the 3-1 second choice from Post 2. Once again, as in Race 11, the top two market choices draw the two inside posts in a nine-horse field. The evening conditions at Albuquerque for the final race, with temperatures cooling after sunset, often produce fast times. Cowboy 1 (POST 6) at 4-1 is the third player in this race.

Key Contenders

Flying Chance (POST 1) trained by Rodolfo Valles and ridden by Joseph Belloc Jr. at 2-1 from the rail. Valles closes out the card with his most heavily backed runner in the final race, and Belloc handles the mount. This is Valles' signature runner for the evening, and Belloc has been riding Valles horses throughout the day with consistency.

Unleeshed (POST 2) trained by Omar Vargas and ridden by Jose Luis Enriquez at 3-1. Vargas also runs Temptmeknott (POST 8) in Race 6 and Apollitical Olympian (POST 7) in Race 8. Unleeshed (POST 2) is his best-priced horse on the card, and Enriquez has ridden for Vargas throughout the program.

Cowboy 1 (POST 6) trained by Marco Flores and ridden by Sergio Becerra Jr. at 4-1 exits a clean middle-outside post. Flores has runners throughout the card and Cowboy 1 (POST 6) at 4-1 from Post 6 offers fair market value.

Secondary Choices

Apolitical Valor (POST 7) trained by Clinton Crawford and ridden by Jacob Enriquez at 6-1 breaks from Post 7. Crawford is a modest presence on this card but Apolitical Valor (POST 7) — a name suggesting Apolitical bloodlines — at 6-1 could be a closing threat. Crawford also runs Merkaba (POST 9) in Race 8.

Eagles Diamond (POST 9) trained by John Stinebaugh and ridden by Gilberto Linares at 12-1 exits the extreme outside. Stinebaugh and Linares appear numerous times throughout the card, and in the final race, this pair could close for a piece at a strong price.

Longshots

Dr Urban Cowboy (POST 4) at 15-1 for Jed Vane and Juan Pulido — Vane-Pulido have been live throughout the card and this outside price in the final race deserves a second look. Tga Cowboy (POST 8) at 15-1 for Wesley Giles and Noe Garcia Jr. Flashin The Candy (POST 3) at 20-1 for Jason Olmstead and Ramiro Haro Garcia — Olmstead's final card entry at 20-1. Jes Sinful (POST 5) at 20-1 for Marc Jungers and Edwin Escobedo — Jungers closes the card with a longshot entrant.

Selections

Win: Flying Chance (POST 1) Place: Unleeshed (POST 2) Show: Cowboy 1 (POST 6)

Betting Strategy: The inside post duel of Flying Chance (POST 1) and Unleeshed (POST 2) sets up an obvious exacta. Play both combinations of the exacta — Flying Chance (POST 1) over Unleeshed (POST 2) and Unleeshed (POST 2) over Flying Chance (POST 1). Cowboy 1 (POST 6) at 4-1 from a clean post is the trifecta key from outside. A trifecta box of Flying Chance (POST 1), Unleeshed (POST 2), and Cowboy 1 (POST 6) is the primary closing play. Include Apolitical Valor (POST 7) as a fourth wheel option for value.

Jockey Notes and Insights

Juan Pulido is the busiest and most prominent jockey on today's card, riding in twelve of the thirteen races. He handles horses for multiple top barns including Jed Vane's operation throughout the BON races. Pulido handles morning-line favorites and second choices throughout the program and should be treated as the de facto top rider for this card. His presence on Full Moon Desire (POST 4) in Race 4 and Dr Americas Dynasty (POST 8) in Race 5 are particularly notable.

Luis Martinez rides exclusively for the Rodriguez stable throughout the card. Rodriguez saddles multiple horses across almost every race, and Martinez's book represents a clear stable-jockey partnership. Political Twist (POST 3) in Race 10 at even money is his most important mount of the afternoon.

Edwin Escobedo handles nearly all of Marc Jungers' mounts throughout the thirteen-race program. Jungers is the most widely represented trainer on the card, and Escobedo is the anchor jockey for the barn. While most of Jungers' horses carry double-digit morning line odds, Escobedo is experienced enough to capitalize if one fires unexpectedly.

Gilberto Linares rides primarily for John Stinebaugh's stable, appearing in Races 1 through 13 on multiple Stinebaugh runners. The Stinebaugh-Linares partnership represents one of the more consistent stable-jockey combinations on this circuit, and Linares is well-suited to Albuquerque's quarter-horse format.

Ramiro Haro Garcia is the primary rider for Jason Olmstead, a trainer who enters horses in nearly every race. Garcia is a consistent pilot and handles Olmstead's top chances throughout the card, including Famous N Relentless (POST 1) in Race 6 at 2-1.

Francisco Calderon handles Raymond Valerio's mounts throughout the program. Valerio has sent out even-money favorites in multiple races — Toby Sis (POST 4) in Race 1, Jarvis V (POST 2) in Race 7 — and Calderon is a trusted partner for the barn.

Noe Garcia Jr. primarily rides for Wesley Giles and carries Gf Shes Sinful (POST 1) in Race 11 at 2-1, one of the strongest favorites on the evening portion of the card.

Joseph Belloc Jr. handles multiple assignments from the Valles stable as well as other operations. He rides Flying Chance (POST 1) in the card-closing Race 13 and has been consistent throughout the program.

Jesus Rios Ayala rides for Jed Vane's operation in the BOF races on Apollirevenge (POST 3) in Race 3 and also handles mounts for other trainers including Christopher O'Dell's Enforce (POST 2) in Race 11.

Trainer Notes and Insights

Marc Jungers is the most prolific trainer on this card by number of entries, with horses in eleven of the thirteen races. Jungers appears to run a volume operation at Albuquerque, placing horses at competitive morning line odds across the program. While most of his runners are priced in the 8-1 to 20-1 range on the morning line, active trainers at this level frequently catch prices when one fires. Edwin Escobedo handles the majority of Jungers' book. Bandita (POST 5) in Race 4 at 3-1 is Jungers' most competitively priced runner and the one to watch most carefully.

Jason Olmstead is similarly prolific, with runners throughout the card. His top-priced runners include Illegal Cowgirl 123 (POST 5) at 3-1 in Race 3, Effortless Favorite (POST 4) at 3-1 in Race 8, and Famous N Relentless (POST 1) at 2-1 in Race 6. Olmstead clearly has horses of varying quality and uses Ramiro Haro Garcia as his primary pilot. When Olmstead sends a horse at 2-1 or 3-1, the market has strong information behind the price.

Rodolfo Valles is the third highly active trainer on the card, with multiple entrants from Race 1 through Race 13. His most notable runners include Where Is Queen B (POST 3) in Race 5, King Estate (POST 1) in Race 8, Midnite Smokin (POST 5) in Race 10, Cyber Blues (POST 4) in Race 11, and Flying Chance (POST 1) in Race 13. Valles uses Christian Cardenas and Joseph Belloc Jr. as his primary riders.

Manuel Rodriguez fields multiple horses throughout the day, and his most significant runner is Political Twist (POST 3) at even money in Race 10. Rodriguez and Luis Martinez have a clearly defined partnership throughout this program.

Jed Vane runs horses in multiple races, including Apollirevenge (POST 3) at 2-1 in Race 3, Dr Stone Cold (POST 4) at 4-1 in Race 6, Seven Summers Ago (POST 9) in Race 7, Dr Make It Sweet (POST 8) in Race 8, Dr Americas Dynasty (POST 8) at 3-1 in Race 5, and Dr Urban Cowboy (POST 4) in Race 13. The “DR” naming convention in several of Vane's horses suggests a specific bloodline or ownership group, and Vane consistently pairs with Juan Pulido.

Raymond Valerio is a trainer of particular interest given his two morning line favorites — Toby Sis (POST 4) in Race 1 at 1-1 and Jarvis V (POST 2) in Race 7 at 1-1. Landing the shortest-priced favorites in two races is a strong endorsement of Valerio's confidence in these horses.

Wesley Giles fields runners throughout the card. His most important horse is Gf Shes Sinful (POST 1) in Race 11 at 2-1 — his top-priced runner and a serious betting proposition.

John Stinebaugh is a steady presence across the entire card, and Gilberto Linares handles the majority of his mounts. Stinebaugh rarely has a horse under 8-1 on the morning line but runs a consistent stable that can catch prices in the right spot.

Clinton Crawford runs three horses across the card — Windbeneathherwings (POST 1) in Race 4, Merkaba (POST 9) in Race 8, and Apolitical Valor (POST 7) in Race 13. Small stable, selective entries, with Merkaba (POST 9) at 6-1 being the most competitively priced and worth watching.

Best Wagering Strategies and Value Plays

The thirteen-race trial card at Albuquerque Downs on August 9 presents a significant exotic wagering opportunity given the volume of races, the recurring patterns in favorites, and the presence of multiple live longshots from active stables.

BEST WIN VALUES: The horses representing the strongest win value on the card are Effortless Favorite (POST 4) in Race 8 at 3-1, Dr Americas Dynasty (POST 8) in Race 5
