Winds should generally run light to moderate from the west–southwest in the afternoon and evening, with typical dry late-summer humidity and a minimal chance of precipitation.

Los Alamitos' dirt (D) surface traditionally plays honest to slightly speed-favoring on hot, dry evenings, with a well-packed upper cushion and limited moisture retention under these conditions.
