Pick Pony Track Condition Report — Fairmount Park, September 5, 2026

Track Surface & Bias: Fairmount Park's dirt surface should favor inside-to-mid posts and runners that can establish position early or sit just off the pace. In late-summer, dry conditions, the profile typically rewards front-runners and stalkers more than deep closers, especially if the surface is playing fast and the pace is only moderate.

If the track is sealed or tight from heat-related maintenance, that can further strengthen the advantage to horses with tactical speed and reduce the effectiveness of wide, sustained rallies. Handicappers should give a small upgrade to horses that break sharply, secure an early lane, and avoid losing ground into the first turn.
