Track Surface & Bias

The dirt should favor tactical speed, particularly middle posts and horses able to secure position early; recent Laurel figures showed strong wire-to-wire results at six furlongs and 1 1/16 miles, with middle posts performing best. The turf may reward forwardly placed stalkers in sprints, while turf routers have recently favored stalkers and closers from middle-to-outside posts. Northeast wind could make exposed wide trips more demanding, especially for late runners forced to circle the field.
