Pick Pony Track Condition Report — FTP, October 3, 2026
Track Surface & Bias
FTP's Dirt surface should be assessed as favoring tactical speed, particularly horses able to secure position before the first turn. Front-runners and prominent stalkers are generally preferable, while wide posts may be less efficient if runners are forced to lose ground; closers will need a genuinely strong pace and a clear inside or mid-track lane.
Handicapper’s Edge
Prioritize horses with demonstrated dirt form, early speed, and the ability to maintain position from inside-to-middle posts. Treat deep closers cautiously unless the early pace projects as contested, and monitor the first few races for evidence of a developing inside or outside path bias.
