Will Rogers Downs presents a compact nine-race Tuesday card featuring lower-level claimers, Oklahoma-bred conditions, and several maiden events. The dirt-only program spans 5.5 furlongs to one mile, typically rewarding tactical speed while allowing stalk-and-pounce types to be effective when early fractions get pressured. Recent March cards have produced fairly honest race shapes, with sprints won by horses on or just off the lead and one-mile events decided by horses sitting within a few lengths of the pace turning for home.

Multiple familiar local barns including Williams, Corderman, Davidson, Oberlander, Offolter, Ashford, and Young are well-represented throughout the card, creating clearly defined contenders that the public will gravitate toward and potential value on logical second-tier runners who fit the conditions equally well.

Weather and Track Conditions

Forecasts for northeastern Oklahoma in late March 2026 show cool to mild daytime highs in the 50s to low 60s with generally dry to partly cloudy conditions. No significant rain events are reported for the Claremore area on this date, indicating a fast main track is expected by first post. Historical March observations show early afternoon conditions tend to be cool but not extreme with good visibility and moderate breezes that should not dramatically favor one running style over another. The working assumption is a conventional, fair dirt surface that rewards horses traveling comfortably and efficiently.

Track Bias and Post Position Bias

Will Rogers Downs shows a modest but recurring lean toward horses with tactical speed in dirt sprints, especially at 5.5 furlongs where forward position into the turn is a significant advantage. Inside to middle posts have historically performed slightly better at most dirt sprint distances, with no overwhelming penalty to outside draws but a slight edge to horses who can secure ground-saving positions early.

At one mile on dirt, the configuration gives enough run to the first turn for mid-gate posts to be competitive, and local data do not show an extreme rail bias. Trips and pace matter more than post alone. Overall, horses who can leave the gate cleanly and obtain position have an advantage, especially in larger fields, while deep closers without tactical speed need help from contested fractions to overcome the natural lean toward horses in the first flight.

Race 1: Claiming Sprint (5.5 Furlongs)

Sharp Lorenzo (7) projects as the key forward factor from the outside with high-percentage rider David Cabrera and a trainer comfortable letting horses show speed early. Favorite Outlaw (1) has enough inside speed to secure a rail-stalking trip if he breaks alertly. Cabo Mischief (6) is an interesting younger sprinter with tactical speed. Good Scout (5) offers reliability but perhaps a slightly reduced ceiling at age nine. Sidetown (2) has had recent veterinarian-related scratches, raising caution. Big Boss Ben (3) and Slick Country Boy (4) round out the field as plausible underneath candidates.

Race 2: Maiden Claiming Route (1 Mile)

Mystic Grace (1) stands out with a favorable rail draw and proven trainer-jockey combination in Richard Eramia and Scott Young for local routes. Holly Springs (3) is another primary contender who can maintain position and produce a late run. Sure Thing Samurai (4) and Shake That Thing (5) are logical secondary players. Oh My Vron (6), Osage Express (7), and R Two R Badbaker (2) complete the field as longer-priced options needing improvement.

Race 3: Allowance Route (1 Mile)

Flat Out Fancy (5) profiles as a strong closing or stalking type who can sit off the pace and produce a sustained stretch run with Richard Eramia aboard for Jesse Oberlander. Whiskey Drinker (1) can exploit the rail draw to secure a forward, ground-saving trip. Sabres (2) has tactical flexibility and fits well on overall allowance form. So Jordan (3) brings experience as a pace-presser or backup option. Grace The Kingdom (4) rounds out the compact five-horse field.

Race 4: Oklahoma-Bred Claiming Route (1 Mile)

Chi Town Road (6) looks like the central win candidate with David Cabrera providing tactical speed and finishing ability. Wrinkle Road (3) has the right style to sit off the pace and save ground with Weston Hamilton aboard. Grandsonsam (2) is a consistent stalker who can capitalize on pace overreach. Fancy Freida (4) is a lightly raced filly facing males with some upside potential. Mash On The Gas (1) has the rail draw and weight allowance. Out To Party (5) has recent vet scratch history but is class-relief eligible.

Race 5: Oklahoma-Bred Maiden Special Weight (1 Mile)

Brielle (7) looks like a key contender from the outside with David Cabrera who can sit off the pace and time a run on the far turn for Jesse Oberlander's barn. Gospel Clarity (5) brings maturity and likely a mid-pack stalking trip for Steve Williams. Six Gun Sally (2) has appeal as an early-pace factor. Jerry's Lady (3) benefits from seasoned rider Leandro Goncalves and capable barn. Gospel Regina (1), Chase's Lil Milly (4), and Bella's Atreides (6) are longer-priced possibilities.

Race 6: Oklahoma-Bred Claiming Sprint (5.5 Furlongs)

Because (4) is well-drawn to get a stalking trip behind the speed and grind past late for Brent Davidson with Weston Hamilton. Gospel Precious (1) holds the rail and could be the one they all have to catch with inside speed. Ms. Hillary (3) and Strikethreeyourout (6) profile as solid secondary contenders for Scott Corderman who can sit off early leaders. All Aflutter (2), Gettin Out Of Here (5), and Shawk's Lil Mia (7) complete the field.

Race 7: Maiden Special Weight Sprint (6 Furlongs)

Gwen To Win (4) stands out with David Cabrera aboard who can secure a stalking or pressing spot from the four post in this ten-horse field. Miss Code (9) can sit mid-pack and launch a late run from her outside post. Overthrow (1) benefits from the rail and could secure a ground-saving position. Gospel Share (2) is a logical secondary contender who can sit off hot early pace. Maritude (3), Myrna (5), Devilish Springs (6), Sasa (7), Protocol (8), and Braxton's Girl (10) round out the competitive field.

Race 8: Starter Allowance Sprint (5.5 Furlongs)

Miss Escapade (6) looks strong to stalk early leaders from the outside post and make a winning move in upper stretch for Steve Williams. Woman's Intuition (2) is another major player with tactical speed and strong connections. Smooth Pebble (1) is a seasoned mare whose inside draw with David Cabrera makes her a likely factor. Taking It All (3) can press or sit off with enough finishing ability. Rainbow Angel (4), Pop Chart (5), and Dixie Penny (7) are viable underneath runners.

Race 9: Oklahoma-Bred Maiden Claiming (6 Furlongs)

Down Periscope (10) looms as a key contender despite the outside post thanks to Richard Eramia and Scott Young combination with likely forward tactical speed. Five Wide (7) is another major player with David Cabrera who can track inside speed and launch a sustained run. Sassys Code Talker (2) draws a favorable inside-mid post with early speed. Leavenodoubt (3) adds to the pace picture as a secondary contender. Riden The Legend (1), E Money (4), Rainbow Dancer (5), Max's Lucky Bling (6), Smiling Time (8), and Cherokee Will (9) complete the ten-horse finale.
