COLD TRAINER

Uses the same field-relative guard as HOT_TRAINER — a trainer must be below the bottom tier of the field's ITM percentages to trigger COLD_TRAINER. A trainer with an 8% or lower ITM rate is statistically producing horses that are unfit, pointed poorly, or being raced in unsuitable spots. Trainer skill is persistent — cold trainers are cold because they are consistently making mistakes in conditioning, race selection, or both. Avoid horses from cold barns in competitive races unless the horse has compelling independent form.
