DECLINING SPEED AND CLASS

Requires the last three speed figures to each be lower than the previous (most recent lowest), and the last three claiming prices to each be lower than the previous. This double deterioration is particularly alarming: speed figures are declining on their own, and connections are simultaneously dropping the horse in class to find a winnable spot — but even at lower levels, the figures are still declining. This pattern often precedes extended losing streaks and indicates a horse that may be unsound or fundamentally declining.
