FIRST TIME BLINKERS

Fires when the equipment change field indicates blinkers being added and none of the last 10 race equipment fields show blinkers previously worn. First-time blinkers are a top-tier trainer intervention signal: the trainer has identified a focus or gate problem and is making a deliberate equipment change to address it. Horses that respond positively to blinkers often do so immediately and dramatically. First-time blinker horses win at well-above-average rates historically, particularly in sprint distances where gate sharpness and early focus matter most.
