If that buried peak exceeds the race median by 8 or more points and exceeds the best of the last 3 figures by at least 5 points, HIDDEN_BEST_FIGURE fires. The market sets odds based on recent performances. When a horse has a genuinely elite effort deep in its past lines that is not reflected in current form, bettors systematically underestimate its ceiling. Any return toward that buried peak wins at a significant price.
