THISTLEDOWN HANDICAPPER REPORT — MAY 4, 2026

Fast track expected on a cool, partly cloudy afternoon in North Randall. Thistledown's tight five-eighths oval favors early speed and inside posts in sprints; in route races, posts one through four hold a slight edge. Family trainer-jockey combos and multi-entry barns are key angles throughout the card.

RACE 1

Candy Crushem (2) gets the call from a prime post with solid morning line support, while Sight Unseen (3) is the logical favorite from a clean draw. Use Succession Gold (1) and Auld Lange Syne (5) underneath in exotics; Agnello's Dream (4) is a longshot worth a token exotic inclusion at 10-1.

RACE 2

Gunn's Roar (5) is the top selection backed by a strong family trainer-rider angle, with Enzito (4) as the primary alternative carrying the same connection style for a different barn. Trouble Or Nothin (2) offers secondary value from a favorable post; Go Collector (7) at 6-1 is the only longshot worth a trifecta mention.

RACE 3

Ineedyoubabe (8) tops the field despite the outside draw, carrying heavy morning line support that overrides the post concern. Curls Nite Out (7) is the main rival, with Worldly Beauty (1) offering rail-post upside as part of a two-horse barn entry. My Cajun Lady (5) at 6-1 with a family trainer-rider angle is the most interesting longshot.

RACE 4

Bobber's Rocket (3) is the preferred Zielinski barn entry at 2-1 from a clean post, co-favored with Truest Air (1) from the rail under a capable pilot. Mo Don't Stop (2) is the barn mate to use underneath, and Miz Biondetti (4) at 5-1 offers trifecta value if the co-favorites clash early.

RACE 5

Perfect Angel (4) is the primary single among three co-favorites at 2-1, benefiting from the cleanest post and the strongest rider on the card today. It's Browns Time (1) and Countess Colette (5) fill out the trifecta; Hot Princess (2) at 8-1 is the day's most attractive closer play if pace collapses the front end.

RACE 6

Ovid (2) is the clear choice from the best post in a nine-horse field, with Glory Reigns (1) at 4-1 representing the top overlay of this race from the rail. Last Minute Mikey (5) rounds out the top three; Mr. Redlegs (4) at 8-1 and Sadie's Silver Kid (8) at 6-1 are worth trifecta coverage in the deepest field of the card.

RACE 7

Instigation (4) is the top selection in the day's marquee allowance, co-favored at 2-1 with Saltmakeshersweet (2) from the two-hole. Parlay Charlie (6) at 4-1 is the best value play on the entire card — a two-horse barn with a potential pace-setting stablemate gives this filly an ideal setup. Credit Check (1) at 6-1 and Stick Around (5) at 8-1 provide trifecta depth.

RACE 8

Coalminer's Kitten (3) is the most defensible single of the day, combining a family trainer-rider angle with a prime post and clear morning line authority. Zippin Gigi (7) at 3-1 is the main rival, with Oleg (6) and Harbour Bridge (4) filling the trifecta. Big Amadeus (1) at 12-1 with the Skerrett family connection is a token longshot worth a superfecta mention.
