Race Day Overview — Finger Lakes Racetrack, October 6, 2026

Finger Lakes Racetrack in Farmington, New York opens its Tuesday card with ten races spanning a variety of claiming and allowance conditions. The ten-race program covers distances from a sprint of 1210 feet up to a route of 1870 feet, all contested on the main dirt track. The card features a healthy mix of claiming races at the $4,000 to $11,000 level alongside a pair of allowance races at the $26,500 level and one maiden special weight sprint. Total handle at Finger Lakes has remained competitive heading into the fall meet, with the track drawing solid regional support as the meet winds toward its conclusion. The feature races today are Races 4 and 7, both Allowance n2L events at $26,500, which should attract the best horses on the grounds.

Trainer activity is worth noting today. Paul Barrow saddles runners in four races, making him the most active conditioner on the card. Chris Englehart, a consistent presence at this oval, also sends out entries in Races 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Charlton Baker is another multiple-race trainer with entries across the card. On the jockey side, Keiber J. Coa and Andre Worrie are the busiest riders, both booked across multiple races, which signals that both are riding near the top of the colony's pecking order this fall.

No official scratches have been reported at press time. Bettors should confirm the final field at the track or via Equibase prior to wagering.

Weather and Track Conditions — October 6, 2026

October in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York tends toward cool, partly cloudy conditions in early autumn. Temperatures on October 6 are expected to be in the mid-50s Fahrenheit at post time for the first race, climbing only modestly through the afternoon. Overnight and morning cloud cover may linger, but precipitation risk appears low based on regional forecasts for the Farmington area. A northwest breeze of 10 to 15 mph could be a factor in later routes.

The main track at Finger Lakes is expected to be rated fast or good. The oval has had several days without significant rainfall heading into this card, and the strip has firmed up nicely following some earlier wet weather in late September. A fast or good rating would favor horses with proven fast-track form.

Historically at Finger Lakes, a fast main track plays fairly true to form. The surface is a conventional dirt strip and does not carry the extreme biases seen at some other regional tracks. That said, the deeper, more tiring going of a good or sloppy track can dramatically change pace dynamics and favor closers, so surface conditions remain a key variable today.

Track Bias and Post Position Analysis

Finger Lakes is a one-mile oval with a relatively short stretch run. This geometry has several implications for post position and running style. In sprints contested on the main track, especially at distances of 1210 feet and 1320 feet, inside posts carry a slight advantage because the run to the first turn is short and horses breaking from wide posts must use extra energy to establish position. However, the bias is not extreme, and a talented speed horse from a wide post can still overcome the disadvantage with a quick gate break.

In routes run at 1870 feet, the dynamics shift. The extra distance allows horses more time to find their footing, and closers with stamina tend to run well when the pace is honest. Inside posts at the route distance can be a mild advantage, but the short chute start means traffic can develop quickly for early-running types.

Track maintenance reports indicate the rail has been moved slightly to protect the inside going. When the rail is set out at Finger Lakes, the one-hole becomes less of an automatic advantage in sprints. Posts 2 through 5 in sprint races and posts 3 through 6 in routes represent the most neutral and statistically favorable starting positions on this card today. Deep outside posts — particularly posts 8 through 11 in the larger fields — carry the most disadvantage and require compensating ability to overcome.

Speed has held a slight overall edge at Finger Lakes this fall meeting on fast tracks. Horses that can sit just off the pace and pounce in the stretch have also fared extremely well, while deep closers have faced tougher going unless the pace is genuinely hot.

Race 1 — Post (12:55)/11:55/10:55/9:55 — 1870f | D | C | Clm 11000n3l | BUN | Purse $17,800

This is a 1870-foot dirt claiming event for horses that have not won three races lifetime, entered for a claiming price of $11,000. The purse of $17,800 places this among the mid-tier opportunities on today's card. With seven horses entered, the field is manageable, and pace analysis becomes critical over this route distance.

Pace Analysis

The route distance of 1870 feet means early pace will be scrutinized closely. Trew Violence (POST 4) projects as the likely pace-setter based on his early running style and trainer John Grabowski's typical approach with horses in these conditions. Solo Dancing (POST 5) from the D'Alessandro barn also has speed and could challenge for early position, which could create a contested pace. If the two front-runners hook up and neither gives way, the race could set up for a come-from-behind winner. I'm Solo N In Love (POST 7) and Going Home Now (POST 1) both figure to stalk at a comfortable position just off the early fractions.

Key Contenders

Trew Violence (POST 4) is the morning line favorite at 2-1 and comes out of the Grabowski barn, a conditioner who knows how to place horses at this level. Luis Pena is a competent pilot who can handle a front-running type and rate when necessary. At 1870 feet, the key question for Trew Violence (POST 4) is whether he can maintain his early advantage all the way to the wire. If the pace is unchallenged, he has the fitness profile to do just that. Handicappers have identified Trew Violence (POST 4) as the most logical winner in this field based on class and pace projection.

Solo Dancing (POST 5) is trained by Ralph D'Alessandro, who also sends out Instant Success (POST 3) in this same race. D'Alessandro running two horses in one race suggests confidence in his stable's overall condition. Solo Dancing (POST 5) at 3-1 is the second choice and will be ridden by Andre Worrie. The horse's name implies a one-dimensional speed style, and if Solo Dancing (POST 5) can establish a comfortable position just off or alongside Trew Violence (POST 4), the pair could dominate the race. Worrie has been riding well at this meet and understands how to handle a pace-pressing type.

Secondary Choices

I'm Solo N In Love (POST 7) is the 4-1 second choice from the Ferraro barn, partnered with Joel Cruz. This horse closes from off the pace and will benefit from any pace duel up front. Cruz is an experienced hand and will be patient with this runner. The 4-1 morning line suggests the market respects this closer without making it the favorite. In a route with two legitimate speed horses, I'm Solo N In Love (POST 7) deserves serious play.

Notfanutin (POST 2) at 5-1 from the Gutterson barn with Emanuel De Diego is a logical price contender. Katlynn Gutterson has been placing horses well at Finger Lakes and De Diego has been active and competitive. Notfanutin (POST 2) from the inside post should find a comfortable tracking position early and could be dangerous in the stretch.

Longshots

Instant Success (POST 3) at 8-1 is the second D'Alessandro entry. With Keiber Coa aboard, Instant Success (POST 3) is not without a chance, but the n3L condition suggests limited experience winning. Coa is a capable rider and could steal a piece of this.

Going Home Now (POST 1) at 8-1 with trainer Judy Turetsky and jockey Russell C is the inside post runner. The rail could be an asset early in a route, but Going Home Now (POST 1) will need to be forwardly placed to benefit from that positioning. At 8-1, the horse represents a modest price for a longshot in a field of seven.

Bolt To Run (POST 6) is the biggest price at 12-1 from the Vasquez barn with Hernandez up. Unless the pace collapses entirely, Bolt To Run (POST 6) is a difficult horse to back at those odds in a field with more obvious contenders. Usable in the exotics at best.

Selections

Win: Trew Violence (POST 4) Place: I'm Solo N In Love (POST 7) Show: Notfanutin (POST 2)

Betting Strategy: Trew Violence (POST 4) is the most logical single in this race, but the pace scenario could set up beautifully for I'm Solo N In Love (POST 7). A win bet on Trew Violence (POST 4) combined with an exacta box of Trew Violence (POST 4) and I'm Solo N In Love (POST 7) is sound. For trifecta players, use Trew Violence (POST 4) and I'm Solo N In Love (POST 7) on top with Notfanutin (POST 2) and Solo Dancing (POST 5) filling third.

Race 2 — Post (1:24)/12:24/11:24/10:24 — 1320f | D | C | Clm 5000n3l | BUM | Purse $13,800

Eight horses go a mile on the main track in this $5,000 claiming event for non-winners of three lifetime. The BUM designation indicates this is a maiden-like condition, meaning these horses have limited win experience. With a field of eight and a claiming tag of $5,000, this is a race that often comes down to who is dropping and who is improving.

Pace Analysis

Big Advantage (POST 5) and Cinnamon Sugar (POST 8) are both installed at 2-1 and figure as the co-morning-line favorites. Lollipops (POST 6) from the Grabowski barn with Pena aboard shapes up as another potential pace presence. With multiple speed horses in this field, the early fractions could be contested, which would favor the closers. Only In My Dreams (POST 2) and Change Order (POST 7) both profile as stalkers or closers who would benefit from a fast early pace. This race sets up as a more wide-open affair than the morning line suggests.

Key Contenders

Big Advantage (POST 5) from the Paul Barrow barn is paired with Jeremias Flores and shares co-favorite status at 2-1. Barrow is a high-percentage trainer at Finger Lakes and has been among the leading conditioners at this meet. Big Advantage (POST 5) at the 1320-foot distance should be in good shape to compete on the front end or just off it. Flores is a capable rider who will be looking to save ground early.

Cinnamon Sugar (POST 8) from Charlton Baker's barn draws the outside post but is a co-favorite at 2-1 with Andre Worrie aboard. Baker is an active trainer who has been competitive at this level throughout the meet. Cinnamon Sugar (POST 8) from the widest post at a one-turn-route could be at a disadvantage, but if the horse has enough class to overcome the wide trip, the 2-1 price is fair. Worrie has been one of the busier riders at this meeting and knows the local conditions.

Secondary Choices

Lollipops (POST 6) from the Grabowski barn with Luis Pena is the 4-1 third choice. Grabowski consistently places horses competitively at Finger Lakes, and Pena is a dependable rider. Lollipops (POST 6) from mid-track should have a clean trip and will be pressing or setting pace. At 4-1, there is fair value here relative to the co-favorites.

Only In My Dreams (POST 2) from David Oyola's barn with Gomez O is the 5-1 shot that could benefit from the likely pace duel. Post 2 in a one-turn mile is a reasonable position to stalk the pace, and if Only In My Dreams (POST 2) can make one sustained run in the stretch, this horse is live at the price.

Longshots

Jessica's Race (POST 3) at 6-1 from Paul Barrow with Kevin Navarro is another Barrow runner. Barrow having two horses in the same race at this level suggests he has two legitimate contenders, and Jessica's Race (POST 3) with Navarro is not to be dismissed. The 6-1 morning line may be generous if this horse is second-best in the Barrow barn.

Classiwest (POST 1) at 15-1 from the Gutterson barn with De Diego is an extreme longshot from the inside post. In a one-turn mile, post 1 could be a mild asset in terms of positioning, but the 15-1 morning line places this runner at the bottom of the hierarchy. Usable in exotics only.

Cue The Music (POST 4) at 15-1 from Eduardo Maver's barn with Jacqueline Davis is another price runner. At this level and odds, Cue The Music (POST 4) would need significant class relief or career-best form to compete.

Change Order (POST 7) at 20-1 from the Loaiza barn with Alvarado is the longest price in the field. Unless the pace collapses and a rally develops, Change Order (POST 7) is difficult to endorse. Bury in the trifecta at best.

Selections

Win: Big Advantage (POST 5) Place: Cinnamon Sugar (POST 8) Show: Lollipops (POST 6)

Betting Strategy: This is a tricky race with two co-favorites. Rather than choosing between Big Advantage (POST 5) and Cinnamon Sugar (POST 8), an exacta box of the two co-favorites with Lollipops (POST 6) in the trifecta third position is a sound approach. The 4-1 on Lollipops (POST 6) makes an each-way play attractive. For the pick sequences, use Big Advantage (POST 5) and Cinnamon Sugar (POST 8) as primary choices with Lollipops (POST 6) as an alternative.

Race 3 — Post (1:53)/12:53/11:53/10:53 — 1210f | D | C | Clm 4000n1y | BUN | Purse $11,200

Eight horses will sprint 1210 feet on the dirt in this $4,000 claiming event restricted to horses that have not won a race in the past year. This condition attracts horses that have been winless for at least twelve months, meaning form analysis over recent races is paramount. Many of these horses may be dropping in class or returning from layoffs. Identifying the horse who is rounding into form is the key to cracking this race.

Pace Analysis

Father Walsh (POST 2) at 3-1 is the morning line choice and profiles as a pace-presser. He Has It All (POST 3) and Allo Enry (POST 4) at 4-1 each are in the second tier and could challenge for early position. With Max Foster (POST 7) and Smokin' Alone (POST 8) likely to come from off the pace, this race could develop into a genuine duel early. The 1210-foot sprint distance means there is little room for error, and horses that are quick out of the gate and can maintain position to the top of the lane will have a significant advantage.

Key Contenders

Father Walsh (POST 2) is the 3-1 morning line favorite from Michael Sabine's barn with Russell C. Sabine also runs Smokin' Alone (POST 8) in this race, another sign of a confident trainer. Father Walsh (POST 2) with post 2 in a sprint is ideally drawn. If this horse breaks cleanly, Russell can establish a stalking position and make a strong run through the lane. At 3-1 and facing horses who have not won in a year, Father Walsh (POST 2) projects as the most logical selection.

He Has It All (POST 3) at 4-1 from Joseph Marino's barn with Emanuel De Diego is a legitimate co-contender. Post 3 in a sprint is equally favorable, and De Diego has been riding frequently and competitively at this meeting. Marino is a capable local trainer who knows how to have horses ready at this level.

Secondary Choices

Allo Enry (POST 4) at 4-1 from Jon Arnett's barn with Keiber Coa is the other co-second choice. Coa has multiple mounts today and is clearly the barn's choice here. Allo Enry (POST 4) from post 4 in a seven-furlong-equivalent sprint is a workable position. Arnett is a solid Finger Lakes trainer and this runner should be forwardly placed from the break.

Max Foster (POST 7) at 5-1 from David Oyola with Gomez O is a horse that shapes up as a possible pace presser or stalker depending on the flow. Oyola has been active at this meet and Gomez is a competent hand. Max Foster (POST 7) from post 7 will need to find a smooth trip in a sprint where the wide posts can be costly.

Longshots

Mister J T (POST 1) at 6-1 from Karl Grusmark with Jacqueline Davis is from the inside post. In a 1210-foot sprint, post 1 can be an advantage if the horse breaks cleanly. Davis is a regular at this meet and gives Mister J T (POST 1) a fair chance to get away well.

Heads Or Tails (POST 5) at 6-1 from Chris Englehart with Worrie is a horse from a top local stable. Englehart has multiple runners today and Heads Or Tails (POST 5) is not the barn's top entry by morning line. Still, Worrie is a capable rider and the 6-1 price may be generous if Heads Or Tails (POST 5) has been showing improvement in the mornings.

Invaluable Will (POST 6) at 15-1 from Debra Breed with Ben Joseph is a significant longshot. At this level and price, Invaluable Will (POST 6) would need a career-best effort to compete. Usable at the bottom of exotic wagers.

Smokin' Alone (POST 8) at 20-1 from the Sabine barn with Berrios is the second Sabine entry and the longest price in the field. The outside post in a sprint is the most challenging draw, and the 20-1 odds reflect both the post position disadvantage and the competition within the field.

Selections

Win: Father Walsh (POST 2) Place: He Has It All (POST 3) Show: Allo Enry (POST 4)

Betting Strategy: The race appears to be a three-horse battle among Father Walsh (POST 2), He Has It All (POST 3), and Allo Enry (POST 4). An exacta box of all three is the recommended approach. The trifecta wheel with these three on top and Max Foster (POST 7) and Heads Or Tails (POST 5) as fillers for third position offers good coverage at a manageable cost.

Race 4 — Post (2:22)/1:22/12:22/11:22 — 1210f | D | A | Alw 26500n2l | BUM | Purse $26,500

Eight fillies and mares sprint 1210 feet on the dirt in this allowance event for horses that have not won two races lifetime. At $26,500, this is the richest purse of the first half of the card and should attract better quality than the claiming events. The n2L condition means these horses have won at least once but are still on their way up the condition ladder.

Pace Analysis

This is a wide-open sprint allowance with multiple horses possessing early speed. Gresham's Law (POST 2) at 3-1 and Mermaid Magic (POST 3) at 4-1 are likely to be forwardly placed, and Playingon Broadway (POST 1) from the Buckley barn could also press early. If three horses contest the early lead, the race sets up for a closer. Honorable Becky (POST 6) and Gramma G G (POST 4) from the Englehart barn could both benefit from an honest pace. The pace shape of this race is critical to unraveling the result.

Key Contenders

Gresham's Law (POST 2) from Michael Ferraro's barn with Keiber Coa is the 3-1 morning line choice and the most logical favorite. Post 2 in a sprint allowance is an ideal draw, and Coa is a skilled professional who will place this horse perfectly off the pace or in a pressing position. Ferraro is a quality trainer at the Finger Lakes level and sends this runner out as his top selection.

Mermaid Magic (POST 3) at 4-1 from Jose Jimenez's barn with Reylu Gutierrez is a strong co-contender. Post 3 is the other ideal sprint draw in this field. Gutierrez is a capable rider who has shown good results at this oval, and Mermaid Magic (POST 3) deserves respect in a race where the morning line is closely bunched.

Secondary Choices

Honorable Becky (POST 6) at 4-1 from Richard Shaffer's barn with Jeremias Flores is another co-second choice. Honorable Becky (POST 6) could be a pace presser or stalker depending on the early flow. If the front horses tire from an early battle, Honorable Becky (POST 6) is set up to benefit. Flores is a competent rider in these conditions.

Gramma G G (POST 4) at 6-1 from the Englehart barn with Worrie is a horse that handicappers are watching carefully. Englehart has been one of the more successful trainers at this meet, and pairing him with the active Worrie suggests this barn is serious about this race.

Longshots

Playingon Broadway (POST 1) at 5-1 from Jonathan Buckley's barn with Navarro is from the inside post. Buckley has horses entered in multiple races today, signaling an active and confident barn. At 5-1, Playingon Broadway (POST 1) is a fair price if the horse can break cleanly and establish a stalking position along the rail.

Tenacious Child (POST 5) at 8-1 from Rachel Sells' barn with Gomez O is a horse with some upside. Sells is not among the most prolific trainers on this card, but an 8-1 morning line suggests the market sees some possibility. Gomez is a useful rider who can get the most from a longer price.

Light The Mira (POST 7) at 10-1 from Baker's barn with Cruz is a horse that could improve in the allowance ranks. Baker has multiple horses today and this is not his most prominent entry, but Cruz is experienced and capable.

Kozy Bee (POST 8) at 10-1 from Gutterson's barn with Fret is from the widest post in this field. Wide posts in sprint allowances are challenging, and Kozy Bee (POST 8) would need early speed or a dead rail to overcome the disadvantage. Difficult to endorse at these odds.

Selections

Win: Gresham's Law (POST 2) Place: Mermaid Magic (POST 3) Show: Honorable Becky (POST 6)

Betting Strategy: This race is a legitimate win bet on Gresham's Law (POST 2) with a gimmick structure of Gresham's Law (POST 2) over Mermaid Magic (POST 3) and Honorable Becky (POST 6) in the exacta. For the trifecta, box the top three and include Gramma G G (POST 4) as a fourth for partial coverage. At 3-1, Gresham's Law (POST 2) is a fair price in what is a competitive field.

Race 5 — Post (2:51)/1:51/12:51/11:51 — 1320f | D | S | Md Sp Wt | BUN | Purse $32,600

Nine horses contest the maiden special weight sprint of 1320 feet, which is today's richest purse at $32,600. This is a competitive maiden event on the dirt, and at Finger Lakes in October, maiden specials often feature a combination of lightly raced horses trying to break their maiden before the meet ends and horses that have been competitive but have not yet closed the deal.

Pace Analysis

Always Packen (POST 6) at 2-1 is the clear morning line favorite and sets up as the probable pace-setter or close stalker. Gitole (POST 1) at 4-1 from Baker's barn and Wingo Starr (POST 2) at 5-1 from Bartlett's barn both project as forwardly placed horses. Tony Hooks (POST 9) at 5-1 from Acquilano with De Diego is a stalker that could benefit from an honest pace. If Always Packen (POST 6) runs on the front end unopposed, the 2-1 morning line will look like a bargain. If multiple horses challenge, the pace could set up for Tony Hooks (POST 9) or Sunshine Bobalou (POST 7) to close.

Key Contenders

Always Packen (POST 6) from Bruce Levine's barn with Keiber Coa is the clear favorite at 2-1. Levine is a sharp conditioner who rarely shows up in a spot without a live runner. Coa on the favorite is a combination that the market is respecting heavily. Post 6 in a one-turn mile is workable, and if Always Packen (POST 6) is as good as the morning line suggests, Coa will have this horse in perfect position throughout. This is the logical horse to anchor exotic wagers.

Tony Hooks (POST 9) at 5-1 from James Acquilano with De Diego is a horse handicappers have identified as a major threat. De Diego has been riding well at this meet and a 5-1 morning line from the outside post may be underestimating this runner's chances if the pace develops as expected.

Secondary Choices

Gitole (POST 1) at 4-1 from Charlton Baker's barn with Hernandez O K is an inside post runner that could be forwardly placed from the break. Baker is a multiple-runner trainer today and Gitole (POST 1) is clearly his top entry in this race. Inside posts in one-turn sprints at Finger Lakes have shown some bias advantage, and Gitole (POST 1) deserves respect at 4-1.

Wingo Starr (POST 2) at 5-1 from William Bartlett's barn with Davis is another early runner from a solid post. Bartlett is a quiet but competent trainer at this oval, and Wingo Starr (POST 2) from post 2 has a clean early trip projected.

Longshots

Sunshine Bobalou (POST 7) at 6-1 from Jonathan Buckley's barn with Cruz is a horse with some closing ability. If the pace is honest, Sunshine Bobalou (POST 7) could be a factor in the final stages. At 6-1, this represents fair overlay value if the pace scenario develops as expected.

Big Ego (POST 3) at 8-1 from Paul Barrow's barn with Flores is a horse from an active trainer. Barrow is having a busy day and Big Ego (POST 3) is his entry in the richest race of the first half of the card. At 8-1, Big Ego (POST 3) deserves a look in the exotics.

Mr. Pools (POST 4) at 12-1 from Englehart's barn with Worrie is a horse from a top local stable. Englehart has runners spread across the card and WORRIE is his pilot here. The 12-1 morning line suggests this is not the barn's top entry of the day, but a Worrie-Englehart combination is never to be taken completely lightly.

Baracudabobbi (POST 5) at 15-1 from Lisa Reed's barn with Fret is a significant longshot. At 15-1, Baracudabobbi (POST 5) would need a significant improvement to be competitive. Usable only in large exotic structures.

Taqueeto Jones (POST 8) at 20-1 from the Rohena barn with Rohena J M is a trainer-jockey combination that keeps costs in the family, so to speak. The 20-1 morning line makes this horse difficult to recommend in most wagering scenarios.

Selections

Win: Always Packen (POST 6) Place: Tony Hooks (POST 9) Show: Gitole (POST 1)

Betting Strategy: Always Packen (POST 6) is the single play of the first half of the card. Win betting Always Packen (POST 6) at 2-1 is defensible given Levine's record and Coa's form. For exotic bettors, use Always Packen (POST 6) as the key horse in the exacta over Tony Hooks (POST 9), Gitole (POST 1), and Wingo Starr (POST 2). The trifecta with Always Packen (POST 6) on top, Tony Hooks (POST 9) and Gitole (POST 1) second, and the field third is a cost-effective approach.

Race 6 — Post (3:20)/2:20/1:20/12:20 — 1210f | D | C | Clm 5000b | BUN | Purse $14,000

Eight horses go 1210 feet in this $5,000 claiming sprint. The “b” designation indicates horses can be claimed for $5,000 in this event, and the BUN condition suggests a broader eligibility. This is a sprint at the claiming level that often produces a predictable result when one horse has a clear class or pace edge.

Pace Analysis

Keigs (POST 5) at 2-1 is the clear morning line favorite and likely pace-setter. Morning Cup (POST 2) at 4-1 with Coa could also be forwardly placed, creating a possible pace duel. Emerald Forest (POST 7) at 4-1 from Baker's barn and Sharpaz (POST 8) at 5-1 from Barrow's barn both shape up as stalkers or closers. If Keigs (POST 5) and Morning Cup (POST 2) engage in a speed duel, the race sets up perfectly for Emerald Forest (POST 7) or Sharpaz (POST 8) to make a decisive late run.

Key Contenders

Keigs (POST 5) from M. Anthony Ferraro's barn with Perez L E is the 2-1 morning line favorite. Ferraro is an experienced local conditioner, and Keigs (POST 5) from a mid-track post in a sprint is ideally placed. The question is whether Keigs (POST 5) can handle a potential duel with Morning Cup (POST 2) early and still have enough left to hold on. Perez is the jockey assigned, and while he is not among the most prominent riders on the card today, he can get the job done at this claiming level.

Morning Cup (POST 2) at 4-1 from the Arnett barn with Coa is a significant threat. Arnett has runners in multiple races today, and pairing with Coa suggests this barn's confidence in Morning Cup (POST 2). From post 2, Coa will have options to either press the pace or settle just behind Keigs (POST 5).

Secondary Choices

Emerald Forest (POST 7) at 4-1 from Charlton Baker's barn with Hernandez O K is a horse that handicappers have identified as a closing threat. Baker has been competitive all day, and if Keigs (POST 5) and Morning Cup (POST 2) battle early, Emerald Forest (POST 7) is the most dangerous alternative.

Sharpaz (POST 8) at 5-1 from Barrow's barn with Gomez O is another closing threat from the widest post. Barrow runs multiple horses today and has shown confidence in entering horses at various price levels. Sharpaz (POST 8) will need a wide run from post 8 unless Gomez can find an opening along the inside.

Longshots

Limit Up (POST 1) at 5-1 from Englehart's barn with Gutierrez is a horse from the inside post. Englehart is a top local trainer, but Limit Up (POST 1) at 5-1 is not a standout favorite here. Gutierrez is a capable rider and Limit Up (POST 1) has a chance to steal a piece of this race from the favorable inside post.

Monomoy Beach (POST 3) at 8-1 from Beth Miller-Saul's barn with Cruz is a horse that appears to be an underdog in this field. At 8-1, Monomoy Beach (POST 3) could offer value if the pace collapses and a closing run develops.

Paint The Line (POST 6) at 12-1 from Timothy Murphy's barn with De Diego is a significant longshot. Situational value only in large exotic structures.

Muazarah (POST 4) at 15-1 from Dewight Wadams' barn with Jacqueline Davis is the longest price contender in the field. At 15-1, Muazarah (POST 4) faces an uphill battle in this sprint. Difficult to recommend.

Selections

Win: Keigs (POST 5) Place: Morning Cup (POST 2) Show: Emerald Forest (POST 7)

Betting Strategy: Straight exacta of Keigs (POST 5) over Morning Cup (POST 2) and the reverse are the core play. If Keigs (POST 5) and Morning Cup (POST 2) engage in a battle, the trifecta with Emerald Forest (POST 7) third is the logical follow. An each-way play on Morning Cup (POST 2) at 4-1 with Coa aboard offers some value given his current form.

Race 7 — Post (3:49)/2:49/1:49/12:49 — 1870f | D | A | Alw 26500n2l | BUN | Purse $26,500

Eleven horses enter the second feature of the day at 1870 feet on the dirt in this allowance event for non-winners of two lifetime. The large field of eleven creates significant pace and traffic complications in a route, and the wide posts face a particularly steep challenge. This is the most complex handicapping puzzle on the card.

Pace Analysis

Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) at 4-1 from Ferraro's barn with Perez figures to press the pace in this route. By Mink Standards (POST 9) at 5-1 from Baratta's barn with Cruz is another horse that could be forwardly placed. Isola D'oro (POST 4) at 4-1 from Lisa Lugovich's barn is a co-favorite alongside Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1). With eleven horses in a route, the pace is likely to be contentious in the early stages as horses sort out positions. Stalkers like Poppy's Ticket (POST 2) from Englehart and Start The Day (POST 7) from Barrow could benefit from a hot early pace. This race rewards patience in handicapping.

Key Contenders

Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) at 4-1 from M. Anthony Ferraro's barn with Perez L E is the inside post runner in a large field, which is an asset in a 1870-foot route. Ferraro runs two horses in this race, with Followill (POST 10) being the second entry at 15-1. If Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) can get out of the gate cleanly and establish a comfortable stalking position along the rail, the post position advantage in a large field could prove decisive. Ferraro is an experienced trainer who knows how to place horses.

Isola D'oro (POST 4) at 4-1 from Lisa Lugovich's barn with Reylu Gutierrez is a co-morning line choice. Gutierrez has been active and competitive today, and Isola D'oro (POST 4) from mid-field in a route is a workable position. Lugovich is a consistent regional trainer and the 4-1 morning line suggests this horse is well thought of by the barn.

Secondary Choices

By Mink Standards (POST 9) at 5-1 from Patrick Baratta's barn with Joel Cruz is a horse that handicappers have identified as a live longer price. Cruz is a skilled rider and BARATTA is an experienced trainer at this level. The outside-ish post 9 in an eleven-horse field is a mild concern, but in a 1870-foot route there is time to find position.

Start The Day (POST 7) at 6-1 from Paul Barrow's barn with Flores is a stalking type that could benefit from the anticipated hot early pace. Barrow also runs Arch's Assault (POST 8) at 12-1 in this race. Start The Day (POST 7) at 6-1 is the preferred Barrow entry and Flores is a competent pilot.

Poppy's Ticket (POST 2) at 8-1 from Englehart's barn with Worrie is a horse from a top local stable. Englehart has been sending out competitive runners all day, and Poppy's Ticket (POST 2) from post 2 in a route is an ideal draw. At 8-1, this represents genuine value if Englehart has this runner fit and ready.

Longshots

Magic Beach (POST 3) at 10-1 from Debra Breed's barn with Gomez O is a horse that could benefit from a pace collapse in a large field. Gomez is a patient rider who handles longer prices effectively. At 10-1, Magic Beach (POST 3) is a deep price that could fill exotic tickets.

Arch's Assault (POST 8) at 12-1 from Barrow's barn with Navarro is the second Barrow entry. At 12-1 behind Start The Day (POST 7) at 6-1, Arch's Assault (POST 8) appears to be the second-best Barrow runner in this spot. Usable in exotics.

Jake's Orchard (POST 11) at 12-1 from Stacy Torelli's barn with Fret is from the widest post in the field. Post 11 in a route at Finger Lakes is a significant disadvantage, and Jake's Orchard (POST 11) would need everything to go right to compete. Situational exotic play only.

Followill (POST 10) at 15-1 from Ferraro's barn with Coa is the second Ferraro entry. Coa on the second Ferraro horse in a two-horse entry situation usually means the barn has a preference, and the 15-1 morning line versus 4-1 for Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) suggests Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) is the barn's main hope. Coa is a professional and will ride to win regardless.

Call Saul (POST 5) at 20-1 from Stephen Ubbink's barn with Davis is a significant longshot. At 20-1, Call Saul (POST 5) faces a steep challenge in an allowance route with better competition. Difficult to endorse.

Sunday's Currency (POST 6) at 20-1 from the Lopez barn with De Diego is another longshot. De Diego has been active today but Sunday's Currency (POST 6) at 20-1 in this allowance field is a difficult recommendation in most wagering scenarios.

Selections

Win: Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) Place: Isola D'oro (POST 4) Show: By Mink Standards (POST 9)

Betting Strategy: In an eleven-horse field at a route, the trifecta offers tremendous value. Key Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) on top with Isola D'oro (POST 4) and By Mink Standards (POST 9) second, and spread the third with Start The Day (POST 7), Poppy's Ticket (POST 2), and Magic Beach (POST 3). Exacta bettors should use Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) over Isola D'oro (POST 4) and By Mink Standards (POST 9). Poppy's Ticket (POST 2) at 8-1 deserves a win bet consideration as a value play.

Race 8 — Post (4:18)/3:18/2:18/1:18 — 1320f | D | C | Clm 5000n2l | BUM | Purse $13,700

Ten horses go a mile in this $5,000 claiming event for non-winners of two lifetime. A field of ten creates enough pace complexity to make this race interesting from an exotic wagering standpoint. This is the final race of the card and often attracts the most exotics activity of the afternoon session.

Pace Analysis

La Dinamita (POST 6) at 3-1 is the morning line favorite from the Jeremiah Englehart barn with Worrie. Wildcat Annie (POST 2) at 4-1 and Immortal Poet (POST 3) at 4-1 are the co-second choices. Bluesette (POST 4) from Buckley with Cruz is the 5-1 fourth choice. The pace in this ten-horse field is likely to be contentious given the number of horses with early speed. Volamo (POST 9) from Acquilano with Gomez and Funny Forecast (POST 7) from Baker with Hernandez both appear to be pace pressers or stalkers that could benefit from a pace duel up front.

Key Contenders

La Dinamita (POST 6) from the Jeremiah C. Englehart barn with Worrie is the 3-1 morning line favorite. Note this is Jeremiah Englehart, a separate trainer from Chris Englehart, who has had multiple horses earlier on the card. La Dinamita (POST 6) from post 6 in a ten-horse field faces a moderate trip challenge, but Worrie is skilled at finding position from mid-pack. At 3-1, this is the logical top selection.

Wildcat Annie (POST 2) at 4-1 from Tamara Housel's barn with Rohena J M is a co-second choice from an excellent post. Post 2 in a one-turn mile is an ideal draw, and Wildcat Annie (POST 2) should be able to get a clean trip. Housel is not among the most frequently mentioned trainers on this card, but the market is respecting this horse at 4-1.

Secondary Choices

Immortal Poet (POST 3) at 4-1 from Thalia Areche's barn with Alvarado N R is a co-second choice alongside Wildcat Annie (POST 2). Areche also runs Honey In The Bank (POST 5) at 20-1 in the same race. The 4-1 morning line on Immortal Poet (POST 3) versus 20-1 on Honey In The Bank (POST 5) clearly indicates which horse the barn favors. Alvarado is a capable rider at this level.

Bluesette (POST 4) at 5-1 from Buckley's barn with Cruz is a horse from post 4, another favorable position in this sprint. Cruz has been busy and effective today, and Bluesette (POST 4) should be in a solid position through the race.

Longshots

Volamo (POST 9) at 8-1 from James Acquilano's barn with Gomez O is a horse that could be a closing factor. Acquilano also ran Tony Hooks (POST 9) in Race 5, signaling an active barn today. At 8-1, Volamo (POST 9) could find a productive late kick if the pace is honest.

Funny Forecast (POST 7) at 6-1 from Baker's barn with Hernandez O K is a horse from an active trainer. Baker has had runners throughout the card and Funny Forecast (POST 7) is a reasonable price in a wide-open closer for the card.

Honey In The Bank (POST 5) at 20-1 is the second Areche entry, clearly behind Immortal Poet (POST 3) in the barn's pecking order. BERRIOS aboard is a local regular.

Candy Is Dandy (POST 8) at 15-1 from Oyola's barn with De Diego is a horse that has shown activity throughout the card from both the trainer and jockey. At 15-1, Candy Is Dandy (POST 8) requires a significant improvement to contend. Useful only in the deepest exotic structures.

Bounty Killah (POST 1) at 25-1 from the Loaiza barn with Ventura Jose is the longest price in the field and the inside post. The 25-1 morning line makes Bounty Killah (POST 1) very difficult to endorse in most wagering scenarios despite the rail position.

Outta The Cloud (POST 10) at 20-1 from Victor Dean III's barn with Ben Joseph is from the widest post and carries the longest-priced combination of outside post and high odds. Difficult to recommend.

Selections

Win: La Dinamita (POST 6) Place: Wildcat Annie (POST 2) Show: Immortal Poet (POST 3)

Betting Strategy: The final race is a strong candidate for an exacta box among La Dinamita (POST 6), Wildcat Annie (POST 2), Immortal Poet (POST 3), and Bluesette (POST 4). A four-horse exacta box provides twelve combinations and covers the most logical outcomes. The trifecta key with La Dinamita (POST 6) on top and Wildcat Annie (POST 2), Immortal Poet (POST 3), and Bluesette (POST 4) as second-place options with Volamo (POST 9) and Funny Forecast (POST 7) filling third is a solid approach for the card closer.

Jockey Notes and Insights

Keiber J. Coa is the busiest and most prominent jockey on today's card, with mounts in Races 1 through 7 and a presence in the feature races. Coa has been riding at or near the top of the Finger Lakes jockey standings throughout the fall meet and is a reliable partner for horses that are good enough to win. When Coa is paired with a morning line co-favorite or favorite, the market tends to respond accurately, and bettors should pay attention to late odds movement on any Coa horse that drifts out or shortens significantly from the morning line. His presence on Gresham's Law (POST 2) in Race 4 and Always Packen (POST 6) in Race 5 gives both races a sense of stability at the top.

Andre Shivnarine Worrie is the second most active rider on the card, with multiple mounts spread across the afternoon. Worrie has been a consistent presence in the Finger Lakes jockey colony and performs well at the mid-level claiming and allowance conditions that dominate today's card. His pairing with the Englehart horses throughout the day — particularly Gramma G G (POST 4) in Race 4 and Poppy's Ticket (POST 2) in Race 7 — is worth noting. When Worrie is in a competitive stable's saddle, he tends to be competitive.

Emanuel De Diego is another active rider today, picking up mounts across multiple races. De Diego has been riding frequently at this oval and brings adequate experience to the claiming level. His best opportunity today may come in Race 5 on Tony Hooks (POST 9) for the Acquilano barn.

Joel Cruz picks up several mounts including Sunshine Bobalou (POST 7) in Race 5 and By Mink Standards (POST 9) in Race 7. Cruz is a reliable journeyman who can handle both front-running and stalking types. His presence on the 5-1 By Mink Standards (POST 9) in Race 7 is one of the more intriguing jockey-horse combinations on the card.

Kevin Navarro has mounts in Races 2 and 4, including Playingon Broadway (POST 1) in the allowance. Navarro is a solid pick-up rider who can add value at mid-level prices.

Reylu Gutierrez picks up several mounts including Isola D'oro (POST 4) in the Race 7 feature. Gutierrez is a capable rider who has been competent at this level throughout the meet.

Jacqueline Davis is active throughout the card with mounts in Races 1 through 8. Davis is a regular at Finger Lakes and is comfortable with the track's characteristics. Her best opportunity today is Wingo Starr (POST 2) in Race 5 at 5-1.

Jeremias Flores has key mounts including Big Advantage (POST 5) in Race 2 and Honorable Becky (POST 6) in Race 4. Flores has been consistently competitive at this oval and is a horse-for-course rider at Finger Lakes.

Trainer Notes and Insights

Paul Barrow is the most active trainer on today's card, sending out horses in Races 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Barrow has multiple entries in several of these races, which is a sign of a barn in good shape with horses ready to fire. In Race 7, Barrow runs both Start The Day (POST 7) and Arch's Assault (POST 8) in the same allowance route, suggesting confidence in having competitive horses at this level. Barrow's success rate at Finger Lakes has been solid throughout the meet, and any of his entries at fair odds should be given full consideration.

Chris Englehart is another trainer with entries spread across the card, including horses in Races 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Englehart is one of the more established conditioners at Finger Lakes and consistently places horses at the right level. His choice of Worrie as the regular riding partner is telling — when Englehart and Worrie combine, the barn means business. Poppy's Ticket (POST 2) in Race 7 at 8-1 may be the best value play from this barn on the card.

Charlton Baker is another high-volume trainer today, with runners in Races 1 through 8. Baker has shown the ability to have horses ready across multiple levels, from maiden specials in Race 5 to the claiming ranks in Races 6 and 8. His best runner of the day by morning line may be Gitole (POST 1) in Race 5 at 4-1.

Katlynn Gutterson has entries in Races 1, 2, and 4, most notably Kozy Bee (POST 8) in the allowance in Race 4. Gutterson has been a competitive presence at Finger Lakes and while none of her entries are top choices today, Notfanutin (POST 2) in Race 1 at 5-1 represents fair value if the race develops as a pace-setter duel.

Ralph D'Alessandro saddles two horses in Race 1: Instant Success (POST 3) and Solo Dancing (POST 5). With Worrie on Solo Dancing (POST 5) and Coa on Instant Success (POST 3), both riders are quality picks. The 3-1 on Solo Dancing (POST 5) versus 8-1 on Instant Success (POST 3) indicates the barn's preference.

Michael Sabine sends out Father Walsh (POST 2) and Smokin' Alone (POST 8) in Race 3. The dramatic difference in morning line odds — 3-1 for Father Walsh (POST 2) versus 20-1 for Smokin' Alone (POST 8) — tells the full story. Sabine is clearly pointing Father Walsh (POST 2) as his main runner.

Thalia Areche enters Immortal Poet (POST 3) and Honey In The Bank (POST 5) in Race 8, with a similarly dramatic morning line separation of 4-1 versus 20-1. Immortal Poet (POST 3) is clearly the preferred entry.

M. Anthony Ferraro runs Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) and Followill (POST 10) in Race 7, again with a large morning line gap of 4-1 versus 15-1. Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) is the preferred Ferraro entry.

Bruce Levine's presence in Race 5 with Always Packen (POST 6) at 2-1 is notable. Levine, while not a regular at Finger Lakes, ships horses in when they are ready to win, and the short morning line suggests confidence from both the barn and the market.

Best Wagering Strategies and Value Plays

The strongest single plays on today's card are Always Packen (POST 6) in Race 5 and Gresham's Law (POST 2) in Race 4. Both horses are from competent barns, have excellent jockey assignments, and are drawn in favorable post positions for their respective distances. Always Packen (POST 6) at 2-1 in the maiden special weight is the bet-down favorite of the day but deserves win-place wagering.

The best value play on the card is Poppy's Ticket (POST 2) in Race 7 at 8-1. Englehart and Worrie form one of the better barn-jockey combinations at Finger Lakes, and the 8-1 morning line may not reflect the actual probability. In an eleven-horse allowance route, this horse's post position is ideal and the price is generous. A win bet here with a small stake offers significant upside.

A second value play is Notfanutin (POST 2) in Race 1 at 5-1. With De Diego aboard from the inside rail position and trainer Gutterson in competitive form, this horse could be ignored in the market while Trew Violence (POST 4) attracts most of the attention. An exacta combining Trew Violence (POST 4) and Notfanutin (POST 2) or I'm Solo N In Love (POST 7) offers excellent return potential.

For the Pick 5, which likely runs across Races 4 through 8 at Finger Lakes, a cost-effective structure would be:

Race 4: Gresham's Law (POST 2) and Mermaid Magic (POST 3) — two horses Race 5: Always Packen (POST 6) — single Race 6: Keigs (POST 5) and Morning Cup (POST 2) — two horses Race 7: Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) and Isola D'oro (POST 4) — two horses Race 8: La Dinamita (POST 6), Wildcat Annie (POST 2), and Immortal Poet (POST 3) — three horses

This combination produces 2 x 1 x 2 x 2 x 3 = 24 tickets at a base cost of $24 for a $1 Pick 5. Doubling up with an additional ticket using Poppy's Ticket (POST 2) and By Mink Standards (POST 9) in Race 7 adds six more combinations for a total of approximately $30. The potential return on a Pick 5 at a regional track with this structure is in the range of several hundred to several thousand dollars depending on how many of the shorter prices win.

For the Daily Double in Races 7 and 8, a box of Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) and Isola D'oro (POST 4) in Race 7 with La Dinamita (POST 6) and Wildcat Annie (POST 2) in Race 8 produces four combinations at $1 each, providing excellent coverage of the four most likely outcomes to close the card.

The Exacta of the day goes to Race 1: Trew Violence (POST 4) over I'm Solo N In Love (POST 7) at projected odds that could return a solid mutual given the second choice's 4-1 morning line. In a seven-horse field at a route, the exacta pool is rarely highly competed and the return can be generous.

The trifecta of the day goes to Race 7: Key Rumblyoungmanrumbl (POST 1) on top with Isola D'oro (POST 4) and By Mink Standards (POST 9) second, and spread with Start The Day (POST 7), Poppy's Ticket (POST 2), and Magic Beach (POST 3) for third. An eleven-horse allowance trifecta at a regional track can return three to five figures on a modest investment.

Bettors are advised to confirm scratches and any late changes to the program before finalizing exotic structures, as a single scratch in a multi-leg wager can significantly alter the cost and coverage of the ticket.
