Race Day Overview — Albuquerque Downs | Saturday, July 18, 2026

Albuquerque Downs presents a full 10-race card on Saturday, July 18, 2026, anchored by two significant stakes races that should draw the most serious handicapping attention. Race 8 is a Grade 2 stakes at $75,000 over 400 yards, and Race 9 is a non-graded stakes worth $175,000, also at 400 yards — the premier event of the day and the richest purse on the card. The rest of the card features a mix of maiden special weights at both the sprint and longer distances, claiming action, and allowance races, providing ample wagering opportunities across all skill levels.

The card opens at 8:05 a.m. local Mountain Time, with the featured $175,000 stakes going at 11:25 a.m. local. The 10-race program covers distances ranging from 330 feet in Race 3 to 870 feet in Race 1, encompassing the full spectrum of American Quarter Horse sprint racing. All races are on the dirt surface. Races are contested under both BUN (Bureau of Unclaimed Nominations) and BON/BOM conditions, and the card includes maiden special weights for Appaloosa and non-restricted horses, as well as allowance conditions and claiming events.

The passing of longtime trainer Bernie Flint at 86 earlier this week cast a somber note over the national racing community, though his direct connections to today's Albuquerque card are not evident.

The HISA constitutional battle continues in the background, with the Fifth Circuit agreeing to stay its anti-constitutionality mandate pending a Supreme Court appeal, meaning HISA enforcement remains intact for today's racing.

Weather and Track Conditions

Albuquerque in mid-July is typically hot and dry. Afternoon temperatures in the Rio Grande valley regularly push into the low-to-mid 90s Fahrenheit, with very low humidity typical of the high desert environment. The track surface at Albuquerque Downs is a conventional dirt strip that tends to play fast under these baked, dry conditions. Given the early morning post times beginning at 8:05 a.m., temperatures at first post will be considerably more moderate, likely in the upper 60s to low 70s Fahrenheit, warming steadily through the card. No significant precipitation is expected for this region in mid-July, which is just prior to the traditional monsoon season that typically arrives in late July and August. The track should be rated fast throughout the card, with conditions potentially tightening further as the morning sun bakes the surface heading into the stakes races.

Track Bias and Post Position Analysis

Albuquerque Downs is a compact quarter horse-style oval, and the bias tendencies here follow the patterns common to most American Quarter Horse venues in the Southwest. In short-distance sprints of 330 and 350 feet, the inside posts enjoy a modest positional edge simply due to the shorter path to the finish. However, the gate bias at pure sprint tracks is less pronounced than at Thoroughbred routes because there is virtually no turning involved — all races on today's card are straight-line affairs.

At 400 yards, which is the most common distance on today's card and the standard quarter horse championship distance, post position bias tends to be relatively neutral at Albuquerque, though horses drawn in the middle of the gate — posts 4 through 7 in fields of 10 or more — historically perform well because they have clear, unobstructed running lanes and are not squeezed against the inner rail. In very wide fields such as Race 2 and Race 4 (12 horses), the extreme outside posts (11 and 12) can be at a slight disadvantage in terms of the initial break and alignment, though an athletic horse can overcome this.

For the 870-foot Race 1, which is the longest race on the card and involves more distance than typical quarter horse sprints, early pace control and gate speed become somewhat less dominant, and horses that can sustain their run longer will be rewarded. In this context, post position is less critical than raw ability to maintain stride.

At this track, track bias is primarily speed-based across all distances: horses that break sharply from the gate and establish an early lead are at a significant advantage in these ultra-short sprints. A horse that is a half-length slow out of the gate at 400 yards has an enormous deficit to overcome. This premium on gate speed should inform all handicapping decisions throughout the card.

RACE 1 — Post 8:05 | 870f | Dirt | Maiden Special Weight | BUN | Purse $17,800

Pace Analysis

Race 1 is the card's only route-style race at 870 feet, which is substantially longer than the standard quarter horse distances that follow. This race is a maiden special weight restricted to BUN-eligible horses, and with 10 entrants ranging from 3-1 to 20-1 on the morning line, the field is reasonably competitive. At this extended distance, gate speed remains important but the ability to sustain pace and finish strongly becomes a meaningful differentiator. Expect the early leaders to be challenged in the final portion of the race, which separates this race from the pure-sprint events on the card. Horses with any hint of strong breeding for distance within the quarter horse world will have an advantage here.

Key Contenders

Ocean Ten (7) draws the morning line favoritism at 3-1 and is trained by Rodolfo G. Valles, a trainer who shows up later on the card with the favored Luxurie (5) in the $175,000 stakes. Valles clearly has a string in form today, and Ocean Ten (7) gets Oscar Andrade Jr. in the saddle — one of the more active and capable riders on this circuit. At 3-1, the market clearly respects this horse's chance at the longer distance, and Andrade's experience at this track should help in a maiden event where gate composure can be the difference.

Silver Spurs Ar (8) is the co-favorite at 4-1 alongside Red Jet (6), trained by Octavio Torres-Prieto and ridden by Gabriel Medrano. Torres-Prieto appears twice on today's card and Medrano is one of the busier riders in today's book. Silver Spurs Ar (8) draws post 8 in a 10-horse field, which places him toward the outside. At 870 feet, this is not a significant disadvantage. The “AR” suffix in the name suggests Appaloosa registry, which fits the BUN conditions of this race.

Red Jet (6) at 4-1 is trained by Justin W. Joiner, who also saddles Coronainthefastlanes (7) in Race 4 and Jmb Family Tradition (5) in Race 7. Joiner is an active trainer on this circuit. Red Jet (6) gets Noe Garcia Jr. up, another regular who appears multiple times throughout the card. Post 6 in a 10-horse field is a comfortable, mid-field draw.

Secondary Choices

Cross Temper (3) is the third choice on the morning line at 6-1, trained by Karina Aldavaz and ridden by A. Medellin. Post 3 is a favorable inside draw for the longer distance. Aldavaz is a trainer who operates on this circuit regularly and should have this horse fit for a maiden sprint.

The Tomahawk (2) draws the 2-post at 8-1 with Francisco Zamora in the irons. Post 2 is an excellent gate position for any distance. Zamora is one of the more frequently booked riders on today's card. Trainer Adam Archuleta is familiar with the Albuquerque Downs conditions.

Longshots

Jpidentified Diamond (1) at 10-1 out of the rail post gets Jose Enrique Ortiz, and trainer Marco A. Flores also has Aj Golden Cash (3) in Race 6. The rail in a 10-horse field at 870 feet could be either a blessing or a hindrance depending on early traffic, but at this price the risk is tolerable for exotics.

Goodbye Quickie (4) at 15-1 and Wood He Be Fast (5) at 15-1 represent the longest shots among the mid-card entrants. Trainer Jaime Dominguez, who saddles Goodbye Quickie (4), is one of the more active conditioners on today's card with multiple entrants. Wood He Be Fast (5) at 15-1 is trained by Zachary Quezada with Jorge Nieto-Saenz aboard.

Jb Generation (9) at 20-1 and Pyc Dancer Fancy (10) at 20-1 are the deepest prices in the field. Jb Generation (9) is doubly engaged today for trainer Tony E. Sedillo, who also has El Diamante J (8) in Race 4 and Alamos (2) in the Grade 2 Race 8. Pyc Dancer Fancy (10) draws the outermost post in the field with Gerardo Vera riding for trainer Luis Daniel Iturralde, who is one of the most active barns on today's program.

Selections

Win: Ocean Ten (7) Place: Red Jet (6) Show: Silver Spurs Ar (8)

Betting Strategy: Use Ocean Ten (7) underneath in exactas with Red Jet (6) and Silver Spurs Ar (8). At the longer 870-foot distance, the morning line top three represent legitimate threats, and a straight win bet on Ocean Ten (7) at 3-1 represents fair value. Include Cross Temper (3) in trifecta construction as a potential spoiler.

RACE 2 — Post 8:30 | 400f | Dirt | Maiden Special Weight | AON | Purse $20,800

Pace Analysis

Race 2 is a 12-horse maiden special weight at the classic 400-yard distance restricted to AON-eligible horses. Twelve horses in the gate at 400 yards creates an extremely competitive break scenario — the slightest bobble at the gate can end any horse's chances before the race truly begins. Pace in a 12-horse sprint of this nature is essentially wall-to-wall speed, and the horse that gets the cleanest break from a comfortable post with a confident rider will have every advantage. Look for horses in the 5-through-8 post range who can break cleanly and find clear air immediately.

Key Contenders

Sonuva Butch (2) opens as the morning line favorite at 3-1, trained by David M. Gomez-Barraza and ridden by Oscar Andrade Jr. Gomez-Barraza is one of the most prominent trainers on today's card, appearing in Races 3, 7, 8, and 9 as well. Sonuva Butch (2) has the advantage of the 2-post, which is an excellent gate position in a 12-horse field — clean air to the inside, minimal lateral interference, and a short path to the wire. Andrade is likely the most accomplished jockey riding today's card.

Double Down Vike (3) at 4-1 is trained by Elliott Bachicha and ridden by Larry Marquez. Post 3 is another favorable inside draw. Bachicha is a trainer with connections on this circuit.

Dashing Woody (4) at 4-1 with Jesse James Gonzales in the saddle for trainer Sebastian Gonzales is another reasonable favorite. Post 4 gives this horse a good look. Gonzales riding for a trainer of the same surname suggests a close ownership connection, which can mean extra attention to preparation.

Secondary Choices

Corona Wagon (12) at 6-1 draws the outermost post in a 12-horse field but carries competitive morning line odds. Trainer Alex Garcia and jockey Jose Alonzo Lopez combine here. The outside post in a 12-horse sprint is a disadvantage, and the 6-1 price likely accounts for that. If Corona Wagon (12) can break clean from the 12-post, the horse has the talent the morning line suggests.

Fidels Loco Curl (7) at 8-1 with Francisco Cuellar for trainer Frankie H. Martinez is a mid-field draw with reasonable upside. Post 7 in a 12-horse field is a solid position.

Rewster (8) at 10-1 is another Iturralde runner — Luis Daniel Iturralde is one of the card's most active trainers. Gerardo Vera rides from post 8. At 10-1, if this barn is sharp, there could be value here.

Longshots

Ima Easy Judge (1) at 20-1 draws the rail with Brian Cobos Barraza. The rail in a 12-horse maiden sprint can be claustrophobic, and the long price reflects the challenging post.

Ramblinn Man (5) at 15-1, trained by Lillian N. Silva with Alfredo Sigala up, sits in a decent post but carries the price of a horse without strong credentials.

Kj She Is Long Gone (6) at 20-1 for trainer Joel Iturralde (note the different first name from Luis Daniel Iturralde) with Jose Luis Enriquez riding. The Iturralde family appears to have multiple members training on this circuit.

Fly High Sambo (9) at 15-1 with Raul Ortega for trainer Jorge A. Morales-Flores. Morales-Flores also has Paramounte Streakin (1) in Race 5.

Aa Scarface (10) at 30-1, Dos De Oros Gr (11) at 30-1, and Ima Easy Judge (1) at 20-1 represent the deep prices. Aa Scarface (10) is trained by Hermengildo Aldavaz with James A. Flores riding. Dos De Oros Gr (11) is trained by Mario Dominguez-Garcia with Raul Ortega, who doubles in this race on Fly High Sambo (9) — note that Ortega is listed on both 9 and 11, which may indicate a late scratch or change to be confirmed at the track.

Selections

Win: Sonuva Butch (2) Place: Double Down Vike (3) Show: Dashing Woody (4)

Betting Strategy: The top three morning line choices occupy posts 2, 3, and 4, which is a favorable grouping in a 12-horse field. A trifecta box of Sonuva Butch (2), Double Down Vike (3), and Dashing Woody (4) is a reasonable investment. Key Sonuva Butch (2) on top in exactas with Corona Wagon (12) at 6-1 as the overlay underneath.

RACE 3 — Post 8:55 | 330f | Dirt | Claiming $10,000 (N3L) | BUN | Purse $18,400

Pace Analysis

Race 3 is the shortest race on the card at 330 feet — a pure explosion out of the gate. At this distance, it is almost entirely about the break and the first few strides. There is almost no margin for error, and horses that are clean, quick breakers from the gate dominate this distance. The claiming tag at $10,000 for non-winners of three lifetime races (N3L) brings a competitive but accessible field of 11 horses.

Key Contenders

Suspicious Splashbac (1) opens as the morning line choice at 3-1, trained by Luis Daniel Iturralde — the card's busiest trainer — and ridden by Jose Luis Enriquez. Post 1 is a double-edged position at 330 feet: the shortest path to the wire, but also the most likely to be squeezed early if there is any lateral movement from adjacent horses. Iturralde's barn is clearly rolling today, and Enriquez is one of the more frequently engaged riders on the card.

Cancun (2) at 4-1 is trained by Luis C. Rojero with Jacob Enriquez in the irons. Post 2 is ideal at this distance. The 4-1 morning line price alongside the favorable draw makes Cancun (2) a very live contender.

Jes Charge N Go (4) at 4-1 with Flavio Lozano for trainer Joe R. Chavez Jr. is the co-second choice and gets a mid-field draw. The name is evocative of exactly the style needed at 330 feet.

Secondary Choices

Majick Hero (10) at 6-1 is trained by Ramon Alvarez with Luis Alonso Gutierrez Jr. riding. Post 10 in an 11-horse field is toward the outside, but the 6-1 price suggests this horse has credentials. Handicappers note that outside posts at this ultra-short distance are less of a disadvantage than at longer distances because there is no time for position to be established — it is simply who breaks fastest.

Ac Dash (3) at 12-1 is trained by Melvin Cordova and ridden by Alfredo Sigala. The name itself — AC DASH — suggests a horse bred and designed for exactly this distance. At 12-1, there is speculative value.

Longshots

Nazare (5) at 10-1 with Joseph Belloc Jr. for trainer Leovigildo Hernandez Jr. is a mild price that could be a play in the exotics.

Sli Mister Maverick (6) at 20-1 for trainer Judy D. Bachicha with Larry Marquez. The Bachicha family appears on both the training and riding side of today's card.

I B Jessie Girl (7) at 30-1 is the longest shot in the field, trained by Richard A. Quintana with Edgar S. Martinez. At this price, inclusion in large exotic tickets only makes sense if the horse shows some logic in the race shape.

Our Power Cartel (8) at 20-1 for trainer Jason L. Driver with Jose Alonzo Lopez is a long price from an inside-outside post in the field.

Suspicious Jess (9) at 15-1 for trainer David M. Gomez-Barraza with Francisco Zamora is notable because Gomez-Barraza operates Suspicious Splashbac (1), the morning line favorite, in the same race through a different trainer name — though in this case it is a coincidence of the “Suspicious” prefix in the horse names and different trainers. Suspicious Jess (9) is a legitimate Gomez-Barraza runner and should not be dismissed entirely in exotics at 15-1.

The Kid Can Fly (11) at 15-1 trained by Joel J. Gonzales with Brian Cobos Barraza from the outside post rounds out the field. At 330 feet, the outside post is the biggest disadvantage on the card, and The Kid Can Fly (11) will need to be exceptionally quick out of the gate to overcome the position.

Selections

Win: Cancun (2) Place: Suspicious Splashbac (1) Show: Jes Charge N Go (4)

Betting Strategy: At 330 feet, post position and gate speed are paramount. Cancun (2) in the 2-post at 4-1 is a value play over Suspicious Splashbac (1) in the 1-post at 3-1. Box Cancun (2) and Suspicious Splashbac (1) in exactas and include Majick Hero (10) in trifectas as the price play.

RACE 4 — Post 9:20 | 400f | Dirt | Maiden Special Weight | AON | Purse $17,800

Pace Analysis

Race 4 is another 12-horse maiden sprint at 400 yards restricted to AON horses, but with a slightly lower purse than Race 2 at $17,800 versus $20,800. This is a deep field where several morning line prices cluster between 3-1 and 8-1, suggesting a genuinely open race. With 12 horses in the gate, the break will be chaotic, and clean trips from the rail-side posts will be at a premium.

Key Contenders

Ladyz Man (2) is the morning line choice at 3-1, trained by Marc E. Jungers and ridden by Francisco Calderon. Post 2 is excellent positioning in a 12-horse field at this distance. Jungers appears again in Race 10 with Shannons Dynasty (4), suggesting an active day for this barn.

Whatatemptingdynasty (1) at 4-1 is trained by Jaime Dominguez — one of the card's most active conditioners — and ridden by Jose Luis Enriquez. The rail draw at 400 yards can be a slight advantage if the horse breaks cleanly, as there is no risk of being pushed wide. Dominguez clearly has horses ready today with multiple entrants across the card.

Aj Prestige (3) at 4-1 trained by Wesley T. Giles and ridden by Gabriel Medrano is the third co-choice on the morning line. Giles is a significant presence on today's card, appearing in Races 8 and 9 with legitimate stakes contenders. Post 3 alongside the two co-favorites creates a potentially exciting rail battle.

Secondary Choices

Coronainthefastlanes (7) at 8-1 for trainer Justin W. Joiner and jockey Alan Hernandez sits in a comfortable mid-field draw. Joiner also runs in Races 1 and 7, demonstrating a strong day's presence.

Mr Cartel Favorite (5) at 6-1 with Francisco Zamora for trainer John A. Stinebaugh is another mid-field option with reasonable price appeal. Post 5 in a 12-horse field is a neutral draw.

Longshots

Cr Favorite Lady (4) at 20-1 for trainer Rolando Almanza with Sergio Becerra Jr. is a deep price from a comfortable draw.

Hoosier (6) at 10-1 for trainer Christopher G. O'Dell with Jesus Rios Ayala. O'Dell is a major presence today, also running Enforce (2) and Accelerated (5) in Race 5. Having a horse at 10-1 in Race 4 alongside two of the Race 5 favorites suggests O'Dell's stronger stock is in Race 5.

El Diamante J (8) at 30-1 for trainer Tony E. Sedillo with Oscar Andrade Jr. Andrade is riding throughout the card, and even at 30-1, a capable rider gives this horse a chance.

Encinas Legacy (9) at 20-1 for trainer Juan L. Vazquez with James A. Flores is a long price from a deep draw.

Jessawildcelebriti (10) at 15-1 with Luis Martinez for trainer Daniel R. Ruiz Amaya is priced in the mid-longshot range from post 10.

Lonestar Jess (11) at 15-1 with Jhaciel Soto for trainer Jason L. Olmstead. The Jess prefix in the name is a common Quarter Horse naming convention.

Defiant Cowboy (12) at 30-1 for trainer S. Trey Wood with Ricky Ramirez draws the outermost post in the field, which is the most challenging position in a 12-horse sprint. Even with an all-out effort, the 12-post at 400 yards in a maiden race is a significant ask.

Selections

Win: Ladyz Man (2) Place: Whatatemptingdynasty (1) Show: Aj Prestige (3)

Betting Strategy: The three co-favorites occupy posts 1, 2, and 3, making this one of the most straightforward trifecta constructions of the day. A straight box of Whatatemptingdynasty (1), Ladyz Man (2), and Aj Prestige (3) is a logical approach. Key Ladyz Man (2) on top with Coronainthefastlanes (7) as the longshot spoiler in exactas.

RACE 5 — Post 9:45 | 400f | Dirt | Allowance N3X | BUN | Purse $33,700

Pace Analysis

Race 5 is the first truly significant race on the card in terms of purse value and class, a 9-horse allowance for non-winners of three races (N3X) at $33,700. The BUN restriction tightens the eligible pool, and the smaller field of nine horses means a cleaner trip is more likely for all entrants. With a morning line favorite at 2-1, this race has a clear public choice, and the pace will likely be set by whoever can challenge that favorite early. Allowance horses at this level at Albuquerque Downs have typically proven themselves in maiden and restricted company, and the N3X condition suggests these are lightly-raced but developing athletes.

Key Contenders

Enforce (2) at 2-1 is the clear morning line favorite, trained by Christopher G. O'Dell and ridden by Jesus Rios Ayala. O'Dell's barn has a strong day — also running Accelerated (5) in this same race — and the decision to split entries in the same allowance suggests confidence in both runners. Enforce (2) at 2-1 is a short price for a quarter horse allowance, implying a horse that has been showing sharp works or recent strong form. Post 2 gives the favorite a clean inside look.

Tempting Chad (4) at 4-1 for trainer Mario Dominguez-Garcia and jockey Jacob Enriquez is the co-second choice alongside Scary Flight (6). Post 4 is a comfortable mid-field draw. Dominguez-Garcia has Pour Me A Drinkk (7) in the $175,000 stakes in Race 9, suggesting this barn is handling quality horses.

Scary Flight (6) at 4-1 for trainer Jaime Dominguez and jockey Gabriel Medrano is the other co-second choice. Dominguez's barn has been busy throughout the card. Post 6 in a 9-horse field is a favorable position.

Secondary Choices

Jo Cash Run (7) at 6-1 for trainer Tammy K. Johnson and jockey Jorge Nieto-Saenz is the leading secondary option. Post 7 in a 9-horse field is a comfortable outside position without being extreme.

Accelerated (5) at 8-1 is the second O'Dell runner in this race with Francisco Calderon. That O'Dell runs two in the same allowance suggests he has legitimate confidence in both. Accelerated (5) at 8-1 could be the barn's value play if Enforce (2) draws the money.

Longshots

Paramounte Streakin (1) at 10-1 for trainer Jorge A. Morales-Flores and jockey James A. Flores draws the rail. The rail at 400 yards is not a negative, but 10-1 suggests limited credentials at this level.

Return Valiantly (3) at 12-1 for trainer Cervando Garcia Solis and jockey Sergio Becerra Jr. is a mid-longshot from post 3.

Haughty Vaquero (8) at 15-1 for trainer Kenneth Durbin and jockey Noe Garcia Jr. is another outside post runner at a long price. Durbin also appears in Race 10 with Nurse Hot Lips (5).

Preying N Sinning (9) at 20-1 for trainer Joel J. Gonzales and jockey Oscar Andrade Jr. is the longest price in the field from the outermost post. Even with Andrade's skill, the combination of price, post, and class suggests a longshot inclusion in trifecta bottom only.

Selections

Win: Enforce (2) Place: Scary Flight (6) Show: Tempting Chad (4)

Betting Strategy: Enforce (2) at 2-1 is too short to bet straight for most bankrolls, but the horse should anchor exactas and trifectas. Key Enforce (2) over Scary Flight (6) and Tempting Chad (4) in exactas. Use Accelerated (5) at 8-1 as an alternate underneath if looking for value. A small win bet on Tempting Chad (4) at 4-1 makes sense as a saver.

RACE 6 — Post 10:10 | 350f | Dirt | Allowance N2L | BUN | Purse $29,700

Pace Analysis

Race 6 is a 12-horse allowance for non-winners of two lifetime races (N2L) at 350 feet under BUN conditions. This is a relatively short distance that rewards pure gate speed, but the class level — allowance — means these horses have already demonstrated some ability. With 12 horses at 350 feet, the race is among the most chaotic break scenarios on the card. The morning line shows a very competitive field with only a 3-1 favorite and multiple horses at 4-1 and better.

Key Contenders

Beauxnanza (1) at 3-1 for trainer Clinton T. Crawford and jockey Jacob Enriquez is the morning line favorite from the rail. Crawford also runs Sure Hit (3) and Ima Gonna B Famous (6) in the $175,000 Race 9, indicating a barn with stakes-caliber horsepower. Beauxnanza (1) is likely a developing horse being pointed toward a stakes program. The rail at 350 feet gives this horse a clean, direct path with no traffic concerns to the inside.

Wm Rushmore (6) at 4-1 for trainer Heber Deyta-Melendez and jockey Brian Cobos Barraza is a co-second choice from post 6. Mid-field positioning at this distance is comfortable.

B A Dynasty (7) at 4-1 for trainer Jaime Dominguez and jockey Gabriel Medrano is the other 4-1 co-choice. Dominguez continues to be heavily represented throughout the card. Post 7 is a solid mid-to-outside draw in a 12-horse field.

Secondary Choices

Ole Slew Foot (4) at 8-1 for trainer Monse Melendez-Chavez and jockey Joseph Belloc Jr. is a step up in price from the top choices. Post 4 is a favorable draw.

Aj Golden Cash (3) at 6-1 for trainer Marco A. Flores and jockey Jose Enrique Ortiz. Flores also trains Jpidentified Diamond (1) in Race 1. Post 3 is an excellent position at 350 feet.

Job Corps (10) at 10-1 for trainer Juan Esquivel and jockey Sergio Becerra Jr. is the leading secondary price option in a deep field.

Longshots

A Flashin Corona (2) at 20-1 for trainer Luis Daniel Iturralde and jockey Gerardo Vera. Iturralde's barn has been active all card long, but 20-1 suggests this may not be the stable's best runner today.

Jc Daddy Cartel (5) at 15-1 for trainer Edgar Moreno and jockey Jose Luis Enriquez. The 15-1 price from a mid-field post represents a long-shot play at best.

Aj Fun N Fancy (8) at 15-1 for trainer Salvador R. Soto and jockey Francisco Zamora. Post 8 is slightly outside in a 12-horse field.

Zr Blood (9) at 20-1 for trainer Octavio Torres-Prieto and jockey Jorge Nieto-Saenz. Torres-Prieto also runs Silver Spurs Ar (8) in Race 1.

Barbarossa (11) at 30-1 for trainer John A. Stinebaugh and jockey Gabriel Medrano. Note that Medrano is listed on both B A Dynasty (7) and Barbarossa (11) — one of these may be a scratch or jockey change to be confirmed at the track.

Coppertone (12) at 30-1 for trainer Omar Vargas and jockey Alfredo Sigala draws the outside post in a 12-horse field at 350 feet. The deep price and outside draw make this a long-shot exotic throw at best.

Selections

Win: Beauxnanza (1) Place: Wm Rushmore (6) Show: B A Dynasty (7)

Betting Strategy: Beauxnanza (1) from the rail at 3-1 is the right horse to anchor here given Crawford's stakes-level barn activity. Key Beauxnanza (1) in exactas over Wm Rushmore (6) and B A Dynasty (7). Include Aj Golden Cash (3) at 6-1 in trifecta construction for added value.

RACE 7 — Post 10:35 | 400f | Dirt | Allowance N3L | BUN | Purse $35,700

Pace Analysis

Race 7 is the final allowance race before the stakes events, a 10-horse allowance for non-winners of three lifetime (N3L) at 400 yards and $35,700. The field is notably competitive with the morning line spread from 3-1 to 20-1 and multiple horses clustered at 4-1 and 6-1. The race is at the championship distance, and at this class level — non-winners of three — these are horses that have accumulated some wins but have not yet cracked through the allowance conditions fully. Pace will be competitive from multiple directions.

Key Contenders

Dads On A Roll (2) is the morning line favorite at 3-1, trained by Salvador R. Soto and ridden by Gabriel Medrano. Post 2 is an excellent position in a 10-horse field. Medrano is extremely active today, appearing on multiple horses throughout the card. Soto also runs Harken (3) in the Grade 2 Race 8, suggesting a barn in strong form.

Angels In The Clouds (6) at 4-1 for trainer Emilio Cadena Jr. and jockey Brian Cobos Barraza is the co-second choice. Post 6 in a 10-horse field is a comfortable mid-field spot. Barraza has been active throughout the card.

Agent Bob (8) at 4-1 for trainer Roberto Fournier and jockey Ricardo Anchondo is the other 4-1 choice. Post 8 is toward the outside in a 10-horse field, but at 400 yards this is not a major disadvantage for a horse with gate speed.

Secondary Choices

Mm The Gray Rocket (9) at 6-1 for trainer Juan Muniz Jr. and jockey Luis Martinez. The name — THE GRAY ROCKET — is evocative of a horse with blazing speed, and the 6-1 price in a 10-horse allowance suggests legitimate credentials.

Jmb Family Tradition (5) at 8-1 for trainer Justin W. Joiner and jockey Jesus Rios Ayala. Joiner has been active throughout the card. Post 5 is a solid mid-field draw.

Longshots

Mw Always My Daddy (1) at 20-1 for trainer Richard D. Sedillo and jockey Oscar Andrade Jr. Andrade being on the longest-priced rail horse in the field is likely a secondary booking. At 20-1, this is exotics only.

Valentino Four King (3) at 20-1 for trainer Ashlee Wolf and jockey Daniel Antonio Torres. A 20-1 price from post 3 suggests a horse that has struggled against this company.

King Leonardo D (4) at 10-1 for trainer Juan Meraz and jockey Christian Cardenas. Post 4 is a good draw, and 10-1 could be an overlay if this horse has been unlucky in recent races.

Moonlight Ember (7) at 15-1 for trainer David M. Gomez-Barraza and jockey Francisco Zamora. Gomez-Barraza has multiple horses in higher-profile races today, which may indicate Moonlight Ember (7) is not the barn's primary focus.

Suspicious Star (10) at 15-1 for trainer Johnny Singh and jockey Alfredo Sigala from the outside post. The outside draw at 400 yards combined with the 15-1 price puts this horse firmly in long-shot territory.

Selections

Win: Dads On A Roll (2) Place: Angels In The Clouds (6) Show: Mm The Gray Rocket (9)

Betting Strategy: Dads On A Roll (2) at 3-1 is a reasonable win bet from an excellent post. Key Dads On A Roll (2) over Angels In The Clouds (6) and Agent Bob (8) in exactas. Agent Bob (8) at 4-1 from post 8 is a legitimate exacta threat if the horse gets a clean break.

RACE 8 — Post 11:00 | 400f | Dirt | Grade 2 Stakes $75,000 | BUN | Purse $75,000

Pace Analysis

Race 8 is the Grade 2 stakes at $75,000, a seven-horse field at the championship 400 yards. Seven horses in a grade stakes is a tight, quality field, and the morning line favorite at 1-1 (even money) — Harken (3) — commands a dominant position on the board. With a heavy favorite in the field, the pace scenario is straightforward: all other horses will need to match HARKEN's gate speed or accept a deficit that is nearly impossible to overcome in a pure sprint. The horses best positioned to challenge are those with legitimate gate speed of their own and favorable post positions.

Key Contenders

Harken (3) is the overwhelming morning line favorite at even money, trained by Salvador R. Soto and ridden by Gabriel Medrano. Soto's barn has multiple runners today, including Dads On A Roll (2) in Race 7, suggesting a stable in excellent form. Harken (3) at 1-1 draws post 3 in a seven-horse field, which is an ideal position — no rail claustrophobia, clean sight lines, and access to daylight in both directions. At even money, HARKEN is clearly the horse to beat, and Medrano has been one of the most active and presumably effective riders throughout the card. Handicappers regard Harken (3) as a legitimate Grade 2 quality runner.

Rc Corona King (5) at 4-1 for trainer Gerardo Quinonez and jockey Sergio G. Dominguez is the co-second choice alongside Kj Bad Moon Rising (6). Post 5 in a seven-horse field is slightly outside of center. Quinonez is a trainer operating at this level, and Rc Corona King (5) at 4-1 suggests a horse with legitimate stakes credentials that can challenge Harken (3) if the favorite has any issues.

Kj Bad Moon Rising (6) at 4-1 for trainer Wesley T. Giles and jockey Noe Garcia Jr. Giles is a major presence today, also running The Ghan (2) and Cq Coyame Jessy (4) in the $175,000 Race 9. A trainer who can compete at Grade 2 and the richest stakes on the card is clearly one of the top operations on this circuit. Kj Bad Moon Rising (6) from post 6 at 4-1 is a legitimate alternative if Harken (3) shows any vulnerability.

Secondary Choices

Alamos (2) at 6-1 for trainer Tony E. Sedillo and jockey Oscar Andrade Jr. Sedillo also has Jb Generation (9) in Race 1 and El Diamante J (8) in Race 4. Alamos (2) from post 2 at 6-1 with the capable Andrade could be the value play in this small field if the inside post allows a clean break. In a seven-horse field, post 2 provides clean inside running.

Pavel (7) at 10-1 for trainer David M. Gomez-Barraza and jockey Luis Martinez draws the outside post in the field. Gomez-Barraza's primary focus today appears to be the $175,000 Race 9 with King Dynasty (1) and Sya Narra (9), making Pavel (7) potentially a secondary entry in the stable's hierarchy.

Longshots

Streakin Eye Effort (1) at 15-1 for trainer David M. Gomez-Barraza and jockey Jose Enrique Ortiz draws the rail in a seven-horse Grade 2 field. The rail at 400 yards is not inherently a negative in a small field, but the 15-1 price suggests limited credentials against this group despite Gomez-Barraza's activity.

Pick Your Pour (4) at 15-1 for trainer Jacob Renteria and jockey Jaime Parga Leos sits in post 4, a center position in the field. The 15-1 price against a clear even-money favorite in a seven-horse field indicates a likely outmatched runner. Include in trifecta bottom only.

Selections

Win: Harken (3) Place: Kj Bad Moon Rising (6) Show: Rc Corona King (5)

Betting Strategy: Harken (3) at 1-1 is too short to win outright for most bettors. The value play is using Harken (3) in exactas and trifectas rather than straight win bets. Key Harken (3) over Kj Bad Moon Rising (6) and Rc Corona King (5) in exactas. For trifecta construction, use Harken (3) over all five opponents in the bottom two legs, with emphasis on Alamos (2) at 6-1 as the value option. A small exacta with Kj Bad Moon Rising (6) on top over Harken (3) as an upset insurance play makes sense at the right price.

RACE 9 — Post 11:25 | 400f | Dirt | Stakes $175,000 | BON | Purse $175,000

Pace Analysis

Race 9 is the feature event of the card, a 10-horse field in a $175,000 stakes at 400 yards under BON conditions. This is the richest race on the day and will attract the top quarter horse talent in the region. With a 3-1 morning line favorite and multiple legitimate contenders at 4-1, 6-1, and 8-1, this is a genuinely open race that should produce strong wagering handle. The pace in a 10-horse stakes at 400 yards will be explosive from the gate, and any horse that can establish an early advantage while maintaining it to the wire will dominate. Gate speed, class, and post position all factor heavily in this race.

Key Contenders

Luxurie (5) is the morning line choice at 3-1, trained by Rodolfo G. Valles and ridden by Joseph Belloc Jr. Valles also trained Ocean Ten (7) in Race 1, giving the trainer a strong presence across the card. Luxurie (5) from the 5-post in a 10-horse stakes is an excellent draw — center of the field, no rail traffic, clean sight lines to the wire. At 3-1 in a stakes of this magnitude, this horse has clearly shown the ability to compete at the feature level. Belloc is a capable stakes rider and the connection speaks to Valles' confidence in this horse.

Pour Me A Drinkk (7) at 4-1 for trainer Gerald E. Marr and jockey James A. Flores is the co-second choice alongside King Estate (8). Post 7 in a 10-horse field is slightly toward the outside but still manageable. Flores has been active on the card, and Marr has a horse at 4-1 in the day's richest race.

King Estate (8) at 4-1 for trainer Rodolfo G. Valles and jockey Christian Cardenas. Notably, Valles enters two horses in this race — Luxurie (5) and King Estate (8) — and both draw 3-1 and 4-1 respectively. This is a significant stable entry, and Valles clearly believes both are ready for this level. The two Valles horses together form a formidable stable entry. King Estate (8) from post 8 is toward the outside, but in a 10-horse stakes, a sharp break from post 8 can still produce a clean trip.

Secondary Choices

Cq Coyame Jessy (4) at 6-1 for trainer Wesley T. Giles and jockey Noe Garcia Jr. Giles has been the busiest stakes-level trainer on today's card, appearing in Race 8 with a 4-1 contender and now in Race 9 with two horses — The Ghan (2) and Cq Coyame Jessy (4). Garcia is an experienced jockey who has been active throughout the day. Cq Coyame Jessy (4) from the 4-post is a comfortable draw with legitimate 6-1 value.

King Dynasty (1) at 8-1 for trainer David M. Gomez-Barraza and jockey Raul Ortega. Gomez-Barraza has been the most active trainer on today's card across all race types, and having a stakes entry at 8-1 in the feature race with jockey Ortega — who also rode in Race 2 and Race 3 — suggests depth of operation. The rail draw at 400 yards in a 10-horse stakes is workable, but requires a clean break with no interference to the inside.

S Super King (10) at 10-1 for trainer Tony E. Sedillo and jockey Oscar Andrade Jr. Sedillo has been active throughout the card, and Andrade is clearly the most accomplished jockey riding today. At 10-1 in the feature race, S Super King (10) from post 10 is an interesting price play — Andrade's experience could overcome the outside draw if this horse has the raw speed to match up.

Longshots

The Ghan (2) at 15-1 for trainer Wesley T. Giles and jockey Gabriel Medrano. Medrano's heavy workload today continues here in the feature race. The Ghan (2) at 15-1 could be Giles' secondary entry — his primary being Cq Coyame Jessy (4) at 6-1 — but in a stakes of this magnitude, any Giles runner should be taken seriously in exotics.

Sure Hit (3) at 20-1 for trainer Clinton T. Crawford and jockey Jacob Enriquez. Crawford also runs Beauxnanza (1) in Race 6 and Ima Gonna B Famous (6) here in Race 9. Sure Hit (3) at 20-1 may be Crawford's secondary entry, with the trainer's focus perhaps on developing Beauxnanza (1) through the allowance ranks.

Ima Gonna B Famous (6) at 20-1 for trainer Clinton T. Crawford and jockey Ricky Ramirez. Crawford's third runner today — Sure Hit (3) is also in this race — both at 20-1, suggesting Crawford is building toward this level of competition without his primary stakes weapon.

Sya Narra (9) at 15-1 for trainer David M. Gomez-Barraza and jockey Luis Martinez. Gomez-Barraza splits his stakes focus between King Dynasty (1) and Sya Narra (9) in this race. The 15-1 price suggests Sya Narra (9) is the secondary option between the two Gomez-Barraza entries.

Selections

Win: Luxurie (5) Place: King Estate (8) Show: Pour Me A Drinkk (7)

Betting Strategy: The Valles double entry of Luxurie (5) and King Estate (8) is the most powerful stable angle in the feature race, and either could win. Key Luxurie (5) and King Estate (8) in exactas as an entry while also boxing them in the win position. Use Pour Me A Drinkk (7) and Cq Coyame Jessy (4) as alternates in trifecta slots 2 and 3. The value pick is Cq Coyame Jessy (4) at 6-1 to place behind the Valles entry.

RACE 10 — Post 11:50 | 350f | Dirt | Allowance N2L | BUM | Purse $29,700

Pace Analysis

Race 10 closes the card with a 12-horse allowance at 350 feet for non-winners of two lifetime races under BUM conditions. This is a mares-only race based on the BUM designation, and the final race of the day often sees sharp horses entered for those who know the late-race wagering volume. With 12 horses at 350 feet — a short burst of speed — the gate break is everything, and any mare with a decisive advantage off the break will have control.

Key Contenders

Eyofthecard (9) is the morning line favorite at 3-1 for trainer Gerald E. Marr and jockey James A. Flores. Marr also trained Pour Me A Drinkk (7), one of the feature race's top contenders. This barn clearly has form today, and Eyofthecard (9) from post 9 in a 12-horse final race is an interesting positioning. At 350 feet, post 9 is not extreme but does require a clean, wide break.

Ilianas Runnaway (3) at 4-1 for trainer Judy D. Bachicha and jockey Larry Marquez is the co-second choice. Bachicha appears on the training side of Race 3 as well with Sli Mister Maverick (6). Post 3 in a 12-horse field at 350 feet is a favorable inside draw.

Nurse Hot Lips (5) at 4-1 for trainer Kenneth Durbin and jockey Jose Luis Enriquez is the other 4-1 choice. Durbin also ran Haughty Vaquero (8) in Race 5. Post 5 is a solid mid-field draw.

Secondary Choices

Shannons Dynasty (4) at 6-1 for trainer Marc E. Jungers and jockey Francisco Calderon. Jungers also ran Ladyz Man (2), the morning line favorite in Race 4. Post 4 in a 12-horse field at 350 feet is an excellent inside draw.

Brigid Thornton (1) at 8-1 for trainer Donna McArthur and jockey Luis Alonso Gutierrez Jr. draws the rail in a 12-horse finale. The rail at 350 feet is a favorable position for a horse with clean gate manners.

Cocopatas Eagle (10) at 10-1 for trainer Victor H. Rodriguez-Flores and jockey Jose Alonzo Lopez is the leading price among the secondary choices.

Longshots

Tempting Come Back (2) at 20-1 for trainer Joel J. Gonzales and jockey Jacob Enriquez. Gonzales has been active throughout the card.

Feliz Dreaming (6) at 15-1 for trainer Daniel R. Ruiz Amaya and jockey Luis Martinez. Mid-field post with a longshot price.

A Cartels Dream (7) at 15-1 for trainer Jaime Dominguez and jockey Sergio Becerra Jr. Dominguez finishes the day with yet another entry, having been among the most active trainers throughout the card.

Hershiser (8) at 20-1 for trainer Martin Orona and jockey Gabriel Medrano. Medrano has an extraordinarily heavy ride count today.

Rc Asticos Kitten (11) at 30-1 for trainer Jorge A. Morales-Flores and jockey Raul Ortega from near the outside. The 30-1 price makes this a lottery ticket only.

Ms Famous Corona (12) at 30-1 for trainer Wesley T. Giles and jockey Noe Garcia Jr. Giles finishes the card with a long-price entry in the finale after competing with legitimate stakes runners in Races 8 and 9. Ms Famous Corona (12) at 30-1 from the outside post in a 12-horse finale at 350 feet is a deeply speculative inclusion.

Selections

Win: Eyofthecard (9) Place: Ilianas Runnaway (3) Show: Nurse Hot Lips (5)

Betting Strategy: Eyofthecard (9) at 3-1 is fair value to anchor the finale as Marr's barn showed up with a legitimate stakes contender in Race 9. Key Eyofthecard (9) over Ilianas Runnaway (3) and Nurse Hot Lips (5) in exactas. Use Shannons Dynasty (4) as the value play in trifecta spots given the favorable inside draw at 6-1.

Jockey Notes and Insights

Oscar Andrade Jr. is the busiest jockey on today's card, appearing in Races 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, and 9. His book of horses today spans everything from maiden specials through Grade 2 stakes action, and he is paired with the morning line favorite Sonuva Butch (2) in Race 2 and riding Alamos (2) in the Grade 2 Race 8 at 6-1. Andrade appears to be the go-to rider for multiple top barns including Gomez-Barraza and Sedillo. His presence in so many races and his selection on high-profile horses mark him as the likely leading rider on today's card.

Gabriel Medrano is the second-busiest rider on the card, appearing in Races 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 10. His workload is exceptional, and crucially he has the mount on Harken (3), the even-money Grade 2 favorite in Race 8. Medrano is also on Dads On A Roll (2) in Race 7, which is the allowance favorite leading into the stakes. If Medrano delivers on Harken (3), he will have ridden winners in consecutive stakes-level races on the card.

Jose Luis Enriquez rides in Races 3, 4, 6, and 10, and is paired with morning line favorites or near-favorites in multiple spots. His ride on Suspicious Splashbac (1) in Race 3 and Whatatemptingdynasty (1) in Race 4 puts him on rail horses at short prices in back-to-back races. Enriquez is a reliable performer on this circuit.

Jacob Enriquez appears in Races 2 (on DOUBLE DOWN VIKE), 3 (CANCUN), 5 (TEMPTING CHAD), 6 (BEAUXNANZA), 9 (SURE HIT), and 10 (TEMPTING COME BACK). His most significant rides are Beauxnanza (1) in Race 6 and Tempting Chad (4) in Race 5, both with reasonable winning chances.

Gerardo Vera rides exclusively for the Iturralde barn throughout the card, appearing on Rewster (8) in Race 2, Pyc Dancer Fancy (10) in Race 1, and A Flashin Corona (2) in Race 6. This loyal barn-rider connection is worth noting as Iturralde's stable is one of the most active on the card.

Noe Garcia Jr. is a steady presence across the card with mounts in Races 1, 5, 8, 9, and 10. His most significant riding assignment is Kj Bad Moon Rising (6) in the Grade 2 Race 8 and Cq Coyame Jessy (4) in the $175,000 Race 9 — both for trainer Wesley T. Giles. Garcia's relationship with Giles is one of the key trainer-jockey angles of today's stakes program.

Brian Cobos Barraza rides in Races 2, 6, and 7, with notable mounts on Beauxnanza (1) in Race 6 — wait, note that Beauxnanza (1) is listed with Jacob Enriquez. Barraza's primary assignment is Angels In The Clouds (6) in Race 7 at 4-1 and Wm Rushmore (6) in Race 6 at 4-1, giving him two live shots in consecutive races.

Trainer Notes and Insights

David M. Gomez-Barraza is the card's most active trainer, with entrants in Races 2, 3, 7, 8, and 9. Most critically, Gomez-Barraza has two horses in the $175,000 feature Race 9 — King Dynasty (1) and Sya Narra (9) — as well as Streakin Eye Effort (1) and Pavel (7) in the Grade 2 Race 8. Additionally, Sonuva Butch (2) in Race 2 and Suspicious Jess (9) in Race 3 round out an enormous day's presence. A barn this active with horses at multiple class levels suggests Gomez-Barraza has a strong string currently, and any overlay on his runners should be considered.

Luis Daniel Iturralde is the second-most active trainer, appearing in Races 1, 2, 3, and 6. His stable sends out Suspicious Splashbac (1) in Race 3 as the morning line favorite and multiple other runners at varying prices. The pattern of Iturralde runners throughout the card at a range of odds suggests a versatile barn comfortable in multiple race conditions.

Jaime Dominguez has horses in Races 1, 4, 6, 7, and 10, making him one of the card's most prolific conditioners. Scary Flight (6) in Race 5 at 4-1 and B A Dynasty (7) in Race 6 at 4-1 represent his best chances on the day, while A Cartels Dream (7) in Race 10 closes out his card presence.

Christopher G. O'Dell enters two horses in Race 5 — Enforce (2) at 2-1 and Accelerated (5) at 8-1 — which is the most notable training angle on the card outside of the stakes races. The willingness to run two horses in the same allowance race suggests O'Dell is confident in both and likely has the race set up as an entry situation.

Wesley T. Giles is the top stakes trainer on the card, with Kj Bad Moon Rising (6) in Race 8 at 4-1, and both The Ghan (2) and Cq Coyame Jessy (4) in Race 9, plus Ms Famous Corona (12) in Race 10. Giles also has Aj Prestige (3) in Race 4. His primary focus today is clearly the stakes program, and his 4-1 presence in both Race 8 and Race 9 through different horses marks him as a serious contender for the top of today's card.

Salvador R. Soto trains Harken (3), the even-money favorite in Race 8, and Dads On A Roll (2), the Race 7 allowance favorite. Having the two shortest-priced horses on the allowance-and-above portion of the card suggests Soto's barn is peaking at the right time. This is one of the sharpest barn angles of the day.

Rodolfo G. Valles trains both Luxurie (5) and King Estate (8) in the $175,000 Race 9, representing the feature event's most powerful entry. He also starts Ocean Ten (7) as the Race 1 morning line favorite. A trainer who opens the card with the Race 1 choice and fields a two-horse entry in the day's richest race is operating with considerable confidence.

Clinton T. Crawford trains Beauxnanza (1) in Race 6, Sure Hit (3) and Ima Gonna B Famous (6) in Race 9. The three-horse presence in the feature race through both his own and allied connections marks Crawford as a trainer building toward stakes prominence on this circuit.

Best Wagering Strategies and Value Plays

Pick 5 and Multi-Race Exotic Construction

The card's most logical Pick 5 sequence runs through Races 6 through 10, encompassing the two allowance races and the two stakes before the final. A basic Pick 5 structure keying the morning line favorites across would use Beauxnanza (1) in Race 6, Dads On A Roll (2) in Race 7, Harken (3) in Race 8, Luxurie (5) in Race 9, and Eyofthecard (9) in Race 10. However, given HARKEN's even-money price, the real value in a Pick 5 comes from spreading on the two allowances — Race 6 and Race 7 — and using Harken (3) as a single in Race 8 while spreading lightly in Race 9 between the Valles entry (Luxurie (5) and King Estate (8)) and Pour Me A Drinkk (7).

A value-oriented Pick 5 ticket: In Race 6, use Beauxnanza (1), Wm Rushmore (6), and B A Dynasty (7). In Race 7, use Dads On A Roll (2), Angels In The Clouds (6), and Agent Bob (8). Single Harken (3) in Race 8. In Race 9, use Luxurie (5), King Estate (8), and Pour Me A Drinkk (7). In Race 10, use Eyofthecard (9) and Ilianas Runnaway (3). This creates a 3x3x1x3x2 ticket that costs 54 base units and covers the most logical outcomes while using HARKEN as a low-risk single in the Grade 2.

Specific Value Plays

Alamos (2) at 6-1 in Race 8 represents the top value play of the Grade 2. In a seven-horse field where Harken (3) is at even money, the second choice at 6-1 offers real upside. If Harken (3) stumbles out of the gate or encounters any traffic issue, Alamos (2) from post 2 with Andrade is perfectly positioned to capitalize. A modest win bet on Alamos (2) at 6-1 alongside keying Harken (3) in the exacta is a balanced approach to the Grade 2.

Cq Coyame Jessy (4) at 6-1 in Race 9 is the single best value play on the card. In a $175,000 stakes with a 3-1 favorite and multiple 4-1 horses, the Giles runner at 6-1 from a clean post-4 draw — with Garcia, who is riding well for the barn today — offers the most overlay potential of any horse on the card. A win bet on Cq Coyame Jessy (4) alongside exacta coverage using Luxurie (5) as the horse on top is the recommended approach.

King Dynasty (1) at 8-1 in Race 9 is the secondary value play in the feature. Gomez-Barraza has been the most active trainer on the card all day, and having the card's busiest trainer enter two horses in the feature race suggests at least one of them — King Dynasty (1) at 8-1 — has a legitimate winning chance at an attractive price.

S Super King (10) at 10-1 in Race 9 is the third exotic play. Andrade getting the outside post on a 10-1 shot in the feature is a speculative trifecta bottom inclusion. In a 10-horse stakes where the top two choices at 3-1 and 4-1 dominate the market, a 10-1 Andrade runner can fill the trifecta at a profitable price.

Early Card Value

Cancun (2) at 4-1 in Race 3 is the best early-card value, with an excellent post at 330 feet and a 4-1 price compared to Suspicious Splashbac (1) at 3-1 from the potentially cramped rail. A small win bet on Cancun (2) alongside an exacta over Suspicious Splashbac (1) extracts the most value from this early claiming sprint.

The exacta of Sonuva Butch (2) over Corona Wagon (12) in Race 2 — combining the morning line favorite with the 6-1 outside shooter — could pay a very attractive price if Corona Wagon (12) can break clean from post 12 and run down the field. This is a speculative single ticket worth including in the wagering portfolio.

For Race 5, the O'Dell double entry creates a natural exacta combining Enforce (2) and Accelerated (5) in both orders. A box of these two O'Dell horses in the exacta is a standard trainer-angles play when a barn fields two in the same race.
