MONMOUTH PARK — HASKELL DAY RACE CARD ANALYSIS

Saturday, July 18, 2026

Race Day Overview

Monmouth Park's most celebrated day of the racing calendar arrives Saturday with a 14-race card anchored by the 59th running of the Grade 1 NYRA Bets Haskell Stakes, a $1 million showdown at a mile and an eighth on dirt that carries an automatic berth to the Breeders' Cup Classic. The supporting card is equally impressive, featuring the Grade 2 United Nations Stakes at $500,000 on turf, the Grade 2 Molly Pitcher Stakes at $500,000 on dirt, the Grade 3 Monmouth Cup, and the Grade 3 Matchmaker Stakes. Five stakes races totaling $2.45 million in purses make this one of the richest cards in Monmouth's storied history.

The headline matchup in the Haskell pits Brad Cox's unbeaten-since-the-Derby Further Ado (POST 2), the 2-1 morning line favorite, against Preakness Stakes winner Napoleon Solo (POST 6) at 5-2, with Preakness runner-up Iron Honor (POST 5) at 3-1 rounding out what shapes up as one of the most compelling 3-year-old encounters of the summer. Cox publicly declared his charge “the best 3-year-old two-turn colt in the country,” a confident proclamation heading into the season's pivotal race. Only two months removed from his Preakness triumph, NAPOLEON SOLO has drawn post 6 and will be piloted by Paco Lopez, who excels at this oval. The lone maiden in the field, Ocelli (POST 7), arrives with over $800,000 in career earnings despite being winless through nine starts — a testament to his consistency at elite levels.

The United Nations Stakes in Race 11 features Program Trading (POST 4) as the headliner, with handicappers bullish on the Chad Brown trainee heading into the 1 3/8-mile turf marathon. The Molly Pitcher in Race 6 draws BOB BAFFERT's Splendora (POST 7) as the 2-1 favorite, while the Matchmaker in Race 7 sets up as a fascinating dual-favorite scenario between Sweet Treasure (POST 1) and City Girl (POST 3), both at 2-1.

Weather and Track Conditions

Saturday's forecast for Oceanport, New Jersey calls for partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid-80s. No significant precipitation is expected through the afternoon, and the main track is anticipated to be listed as fast. The turf course should be firm to good, favorable for front-running and pressing types given typical summer Monmouth conditions. Humidity levels will be elevated, as is standard for midsummer racing at the Shore, which can take a toll on horses that are asked to sustain long runs at pace. Trainers with horses shipping in should have acclimatized their runners through the week, as the Monmouth backstretch saw a full schedule of morning workouts without weather interruption.

Track Bias and Post Position Analysis

Monmouth Park's main track has shown a persistent speed bias throughout the summer meet, with horses that can secure a position in the first flight early faring exceptionally well around the one-turn mile and one-turn sprint configurations. The 1 1/10-mile two-turn route, used for the Haskell and the Monmouth Cup, does play somewhat more fairly, though early position still matters greatly going into the first turn from posts 1 through 4.

On the turf course, the inside path has been advantageous in sprints and shorter routes, but in longer distances — particularly the 1 3/8 miles used for the United Nations — the inside posts can be a handicap if a horse gets trapped early. The rail has been dead in longer turf routes at Monmouth this summer, making posts 3 through 6 the sweet spot for turf routes.

In sprints on dirt, the one-turn configuration at Monmouth heavily favors horses breaking from inside posts 1 through 5. In route races, posts 1 through 4 have produced a disproportionate number of winners when pace is contested, allowing front-runners to establish comfortable leads around the far turn.

On the turf in sprint distances (Race 9 goes 1210f on turf), the inside can be problematic if there is a wall of horses, but Monmouth's turf course tends to allow for a good flow at sprint distances with even distribution of winners across post positions.

RACE 1 — Post 12:00 — 1870f | T | M | Md 16000 | BUN | Purse $15,000

Pace Analysis

This maiden $16,000 claiming event at 1 7/8 furlongs on the turf figures to be a moderately paced affair. With 10 runners, early position will be at a premium as they navigate the first bend of the turf course. The morning line suggests Tail Risk (POST 1) and Funky See Funky Do (POST 3) figure as pace factors, while the Chad Summers-trained entry is likely to establish a comfortable rhythm. Closers will need a genuine pace meltdown to be effective from off the pace.

Key Contenders

Tail Risk (POST 1) opens as the 2-1 morning line favorite from the rail and drew a perfect post for the turf opener. Trained by Lindsay Schultz and piloted by Pascacio Lopez, this runner has the rail advantage in a maiden event where the rail on Monmouth's turf course can provide a clear route to the front. Lopez is a savvy pilot who understands the nuances of this oval, and the 2-1 price reflects legitimate chance to graduate.

Funky See Funky Do (POST 3) at 4-1 represents the Chad Summers barn, which has NAPOLEON SOLO running in the Haskell — a sign of a hot operation on the grounds. The outside turf connections who know how to get a horse ready for a maiden turf sprint are always worth noting, and Summers sending out a runner on an undercard of this magnitude suggests the horse is ready.

Navesink Pirate (POST 4) at 4-1 gets trainer Eddie Owens Jr. and Christian Maragh. The name alone — a nod to Jersey Shore lore — resonates locally. Owens is a Monmouth regular who knows this oval intimately, and Maragh provides a competent hand in the irons.

Secondary Choices

Hurricane Jerry (POST 5) at 6-1 under J.C. Ferrer gets a mid-field draw and should be forwardly placed. Trainer Charles Spina has shown the ability to get horses ready off modest rest, and Hurricane Jerry (POST 5) could outrun his price in a wide-open maiden field at this level.

Beck's Dreamer (POST 10) at 4-1 trained by Wayne Potts and ridden by Luis Rivera Jr. comes in from the far outside in a turf maiden, which can be challenging but does allow the rider to find a clean path immediately. Rivera is an active Monmouth rider who moves well in turf sprints.

Lumber Legacy (POST 7) at 6-1 from the Jorge Delgado barn with C. Sutherland aboard rounds out the secondary tier. Delgado ships runners here regularly during the summer meet and occasionally springs a maiden winner at a price.

Longshots

Tyrus (POST 9) at 8-1 from Anthony Pecoraro is worth a token inclusion in exotics. Restless Passion (POST 6) at 10-1 from the Mike Dini barn with Martina Rojas could factor in the superfecta. Irish Indygo (POST 2) at 15-1 from Ben Perkins Jr. is a long shot to factor. Ur Honey (POST 8) at 20-1 is an extreme price in a maiden event and is best excluded from serious vertical wagers.

Selections

Win: Tail Risk (POST 1) Place: Funky See Funky Do (POST 3) Show: Navesink Pirate (POST 4)

Betting Strategy: Use Tail Risk (POST 1) on top in exactas with Funky See Funky Do (POST 3) and Navesink Pirate (POST 4). Include Hurricane Jerry (POST 5) and Beck's Dreamer (POST 10) in the trifecta underneath in a cost-conscious spread. In Pick 3 or Pick 4 openers, using two or three horses (Tail Risk (POST 1), Funky See Funky Do (POST 3), Navesink Pirate (POST 4)) here is reasonable given the wide-open nature of the field.

RACE 2 — Post 12:27 — 1830f | D | AO | OClm 20000b | BUN | Purse $48,000

Pace Analysis

This optional $20,000 claiming event on dirt at approximately 1 1/16 miles sets up as a true mid-pace scenario. Thunderously (POST 6) from the powerful William Mott stable with Flavien Prat aboard at 2-1 looms as the dominant presence. Admiral Mo (POST 9) from Kelly Breen's barn figures as a pace presser. Profound (POST 8) at 3-1 under Luis Saez has tactical versatility. Dionysus (POST 7) from Brad Cox with Irad Ortiz Jr. adds another layer of class to this optional claimer.

Key Contenders

Thunderously (POST 6) at 2-1 is the morning line choice, and the Mott-Prat combination demands respect at any level. Mott's optional claimers are routinely well-spotted, and when Flavien Prat takes the mount, this is a horse to be reckoned with. The stalking style that Prat typically employs suits a mid-pace scenario perfectly, and from post 6, he should have a clear view of developments ahead of him.

Profound (POST 8) at 3-1 under Luis Saez from the Harold Wyner stable represents a formidable price on what should be a contender. Saez is one of the most accomplished riders in the sport and the Wyner operation, while not headline-grabbing, has produced winners at optional claiming level this meet.

Dionysus (POST 7) at 6-1 is the Brad Cox-Irad Ortiz bomb of the race. Cox is already sending out Further Ado (POST 2) in the Haskell and Money Game (POST 1) in the Monmouth Cup, so his presence in the optional claiming ranks suggests confidence in the horse. At 6-1 on the morning line with Ortiz up, Dionysus (POST 7) is a live price horse.

Secondary Choices

Admiral Mo (POST 9) at 4-1 from Kelly Breen and Pascacio Lopez will press the pace from the outside post. Breen is among the most active and effective trainers at Monmouth, and Lopez knows the oval as well as anyone. Admiral Mo (POST 9) pressing Thunderously (POST 6) and running them both into the ground is a legitimate scenario that would benefit Dionysus (POST 7) or Profound (POST 8).

Filoso (POST 3) at 8-1 from Chad Summers with Tyler Gaffalione could be a player. Summers's barn is rolling, and Filoso (POST 3) was assigned to one of the meeting's better jockeys in Gaffalione.

Longshots

Protected (POST 4) at 8-1 with Rivera is a mid-tier longshot. Tested (POST 1) at 12-1 from Philip Aristone with Jorge Vargas Jr. is a Monmouth regular's runner. Jasper's Pride (POST 2) at 20-1 from Spina is a longer shot, and Resilient Hero (POST 5) at 30-1 from Jose Jimenez deserves no serious attention in the vertical pools.

Selections

Win: Thunderously (POST 6) Place: Profound (POST 8) Show: Dionysus (POST 7)

Betting Strategy: Thunderously (POST 6) is the play to win and key in exactas. Box Thunderously (POST 6) and Profound (POST 8) in the exacta and use Dionysus (POST 7) underneath at value in the trifecta. Admiral Mo (POST 9) is a legitimate pace threat who could upset the logical order if the front-runners get loose.

RACE 3 — Post 12:54 — 1760f | T | C | Clm 12500 | BUN | Purse $16,500

Pace Analysis

A full field of 12 in a $12,500 claiming event on the turf at a mile creates chaotic pace scenarios. Tocayo (POST 9) at 2-1 as the morning line favorite from Juan Carlos Avila's barn with Pascacio Lopez figures prominently. With 12 runners, there will be multiple pace scenarios and the field will spread out around the turf course. This race favors horses who can secure good tracking positions early rather than deep closers who will need a pace meltdown.

Key Contenders

Tocayo (POST 9) at 2-1 is the clear morning line favorite. With Lopez aboard from a double-digit post, this is a horse whose connections trust their charge enough to accept the outside post. Lopez rides the turf well at Monmouth and will be able to find clean air from post 9. The 2-1 price indicates legitimate class advantages at this claiming level.

Jurisprudence (POST 10) at 8-1 from Kelly Breen with Tyler Gaffalione is a standout angle. Breen-Gaffalione is one of the stronger combinations in this field, and Jurisprudence (POST 10) sits right behind the favorite in post position while offering superior value. Gaffalione is among the nation's elite and his presence in a $12,500 claiming turf sprint is notable.

Bar Fourteen (POST 1) at 3-1 gets the rail in a 12-horse turf field, which is a double-edged sword. Trainer Timothy Hills and Jose Antonio Gomez have solid Monmouth credentials. The inside rail can be a significant advantage early in turf sprints if the horse breaks cleanly and avoids traffic.

Secondary Choices

Six Fortyfive (POST 3) at 4-1 from Mike Dini with Luis Saez is another elite jockey angle worth noting. Saez rarely ends up on horses without a real chance, and Six Fortyfive (POST 3) at 4-1 in a $12,500 claiming turf event with Saez in the irons deserves respect.

Brave Bear (POST 11) at 4-1 from Joseph Pantaleo with C. Sutherland is a deeper-field runner from an outside post. Fully Committed (POST 12) at 5-1 from Wayne Potts also with Gaffalione in the entry — note that Gaffalione appears on both Jurisprudence (POST 10) and Fully Committed (POST 12) per the card, which may indicate a rider change for one of these. As listed, Gaffalione is the more likely pilot for Jurisprudence (POST 10) given Breen's strength.

Longshots

He's Got This (POST 6) at 10-1 from Chris Englehart with Rivera is a capable handler of turf claimers. Ruse (POST 7) at 10-1 from Michael Simone with Jorge Vargas Jr. is another plausible price horse. Bay Street Money (POST 4) at 6-1 from Panagiotis Synnefias with J.C. Ferrer has outside chances. Asmodeus (POST 5) at 15-1, Peruvian Lucky (POST 2) at 20-1, Vesparo (POST 8) at 20-1, and Tocayo (POST 9) at 2-1 — note TOCAYO is the key price anchor of the field.

Selections

Win: Tocayo (POST 9) Place: Jurisprudence (POST 10) Show: Six Fortyfive (POST 3)

Betting Strategy: With 12 runners, this race is dangerous to bet vertically in quantity. A straight exacta of Tocayo (POST 9) over Jurisprudence (POST 10) offers modest value. In the trifecta, key the top two with Bar Fourteen (POST 1), Six Fortyfive (POST 3), and Brave Bear (POST 11). The superfecta at modest investment has merit given the full field.

RACE 4 — Post 1:22 — 1980f | D | G3 | MTHCup-G3 | BUN | Purse $350,000

Pace Analysis

The Grade 3 Monmouth Cup at 1 1/8 miles on dirt brings out a small but quality field of six. Knightsbridge (POST 4) at even money from William Mott and Flavien Prat is the morning line co-favorite with Money Game (POST 1) and Skippylongstocking (POST 5) both at 2-1. With Money Game (POST 1) in the rail and Skippylongstocking (POST 5) drawing the fifth post, pace could become a factor if Cox's runner decides to make the early lead. Knightsbridge (POST 4) at 1-1 in a Grade 3 with Mott-Prat represents one of the more formidable combinations in training, and the horse is clearly well-regarded at a price that suggests substantial early support.

Key Contenders

Knightsbridge (POST 4) at 1-1 trained by William Mott and ridden by Flavien Prat is the morning line co-choice and the horse that commands the most respect on pedigree, connections, and likely form. Mott rarely sends a horse into Grade 3 company at even money without confidence, and Prat is at his best in route races around two turns. From post 4, Knightsbridge (POST 4) can be covered up in the early going and launched when Prat determines the time is right.

Money Game (POST 1) at 2-1 gives Brad Cox a major opportunity to double up on Haskell Day, sending out a Grade 3 contender before Further Ado (POST 2) takes the track in Race 12. Irad Ortiz Jr. rides Money Game (POST 1) from post 1, and Cox's record in stakes races this summer has been exceptional. The rail draw in a six-horse field is not a significant disadvantage at the Monmouth two-turn route distance.

Skippylongstocking (POST 5) at 2-1 gives trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. a second runner in the race behind Alexander Helios (POST 3). Skippylongstocking (POST 5) with Tyler Gaffalione is the more prominent of the Joseph entries based on morning line odds. Gaffalione has been excellent this summer, and Skippylongstocking (POST 5) from post 5 in a six-horse Grade 3 is a legitimate winning threat.

Secondary Choices

Alexander Helios (POST 3) at 8-1 from Saffie Joseph Jr. with Pascacio Lopez could be the stablemate setup for Skippylongstocking (POST 5). In small fields, stablemate entries can complicate pace scenarios, and Alexander Helios (POST 3) pressing the pace could set things up for the better-regarded entry.

Kinetic (POST 2) at 15-1 from Ilkay Kantarmaci with Luis Saez is an outlier — note Saez on a 15-1 morning line runner in a Grade 3 is worth a second look. If the price drifts further, minimal interest. Sergeant Capps (POST 6) at 20-1 from Synnefias is a throw-out in a Grade 3.

Selections

Win: Knightsbridge (POST 4) Place: Money Game (POST 1) Show: Skippylongstocking (POST 5)

Betting Strategy: With only six horses, this race does not offer exotic value commensurate with the risk. A straight win bet on Knightsbridge (POST 4) is the primary play, with an exacta back to Money Game (POST 1) and Skippylongstocking (POST 5) the recommended structure. Using Knightsbridge (POST 4) and Money Game (POST 1) in the Pick 4 leading to the Haskell is a strong sequence anchor.

RACE 5 — Post 1:52 — 1760f | T | AO | OClm 20000b | BUM | Purse $41,500

Pace Analysis

This optional $20,000 claiming event on turf at a mile is a fillies and mares affair featuring the Chad Brown entry Midway Memories (POST 5) at 2-1 as the morning line choice with Flavien Prat. The pace should be moderate to honest with Midway Memories (POST 5) likely pressing or tracking from the outset. Brown's turf operations are among the most reliable in training, and Midway Memories (POST 5) in an optional claimer on turf with Prat is a play at this level.

Key Contenders

Midway Memories (POST 5) at 2-1 from Chad Brown and Flavien Prat is the standout entry. Brown's turf horses at optional claiming level with top-shelf jockeys win at a very high clip, and the mid-field draw is ideal for a horse that tracks the pace and unleashes a late run. Prat has superb feel for pace on the turf.

Sonja Henie (POST 9) at 4-1 from Thomas Proctor with Luis Saez is a legitimate price threat. Proctor's stable has been active this meet, and Sonja Henie (POST 9) from post 9 in a turf mile with Saez has the look of a horse who could sweep late if the pace collapses.

Mid Summer (POST 10) at 4-1 from Claude McGaughey III with Pascacio Lopez rounds out the three-way battle atop the form. McGaughey is a Hall of Fame trainer who spots his horses very carefully, and Mid Summer (POST 10) at 4-1 in an optional claimer on turf with Lopez is worth including in exactas.

Secondary Choices

Mrs. Katz (POST 7) at 10-1 from Derek Ryan with Tyler Gaffalione is the best longshot angle in this race. Ryan has been a sharp operator this meet, and GAFFALIONE (POST 7) on a 10-1 shot in an optional claiming turf mile is the type of overlay that pays dividends in exactas and trifectas.

Jolly Jolene (POST 6) at 8-1 from Lindsay Schultz with Jorge Vargas Jr. is another mid-tier threat. Blenheim Baby (POST 8) at 12-1 from Jorge Abreu with Edwin Gonzalez represents a barn that does well with turf fillies.

Longshots

Maximo Madness (POST 3) at 6-1 from Brandon Kulp is a mid-price runner with limited appeal. I'm Blushing (POST 4) at 20-1 from Kimberly DePasquale is best left out of primary wagers. Tavin (POST 2) at 20-1 and Butter Kisses (POST 1) at 30-1 complete the bottom of the field.

Selections

Win: Midway Memories (POST 5) Place: Sonja Henie (POST 9) Show: Mid Summer (POST 10)

Betting Strategy: Midway Memories (POST 5) to win and key in exactas, with Sonja Henie (POST 9) and Mid Summer (POST 10) as secondary plays. Mrs. Katz (POST 7) at 10-1 in the trifecta represents the best value. An exacta box of the top three at moderate investment is a reasonable approach.

RACE 6 — Post 2:24 — 1870f | D | G2 | MPtchr-G2 | BUM | Purse $500,000

Pace Analysis

The Grade 2 Molly Pitcher Stakes at approximately 1 1/16 miles on dirt for fillies and mares is headlined by Splendora (POST 7) from Bob Baffert at 2-1. With Lost Horizon (POST 2) from Chad Brown and Tyler Gaffalione at 4-1, and Alpine Princess (POST 6) from Brad Cox and Irad Ortiz Jr. also at 4-1, this is a Grade 2 that features three of the most accomplished operations in American racing. Scalable (POST 1) from Todd Pletcher at 4-1 draws the rail with no rider listed as of card printing, which will require monitoring. Dry Powder (POST 3) from Chad Summers at 6-1 with Paco Lopez adds another competitive layer. The pace should be honest with Splendora (POST 7) from an outside post potentially tracking the tempo.

Key Contenders

Splendora (POST 7) at 2-1 is the Baffert entrant, and the Baffert-Prat partnership has been clicking all summer. Post 7 in an eight-runner Grade 2 is workable, and Splendora (POST 7) should be sent to the front or near it from the outside. Baffert's fillies in graded stakes typically arrive at peak form, and the 2-1 morning line is likely to shorten as money comes in.

Alpine Princess (POST 6) at 4-1 from Brad Cox with Irad Ortiz Jr. presents the most formidable threat to Splendora (POST 7). Cox sends out a filly adjacent to Splendora (POST 7) in post position, and ORTIZ (POST 6) will have a full view of developments on his outside. If Alpine Princess (POST 6) can track Splendora (POST 7) and collar her in the stretch, this could be a Grade 2 moment for Cox.

Lost Horizon (POST 2) at 4-1 from Chad Brown and Gaffalione has the inside draw working in her favor. Brown's fillies on dirt are less dominant than his turf operations but still command respect, and Lost Horizon (POST 2) from the 2-post with Gaffalione tracking could close into a pace battle if things get honest up front.

Secondary Choices

Scalable (POST 1) at 4-1 from Todd Pletcher has the rail in a Grade 2 with no rider assigned at print time. If Pletcher lands a prominent jockey, Scalable (POST 1) becomes a more serious contender. Pletcher's Grade 2 fillies typically need to have earned that spot, and the 4-1 price is legitimate.

Dry Powder (POST 3) at 6-1 from Chad Summers with Paco Lopez is an interesting overlay. Summers's operation is firing on all cylinders on Haskell Day, and LOPEZ (POST 3) on the inside turf is one of the meet's best rider-track combinations. Nerazurri (POST 5) at 5-1 from Mark Casse with Luis Saez is a Canadian shipper-quality entry who provides depth to the field.

Longshots

Lika Rolling Stone (POST 4) at 30-1 from Antonio Arriaga is a significant underlay that can be eliminated from serious wagers.

Selections

Win: Splendora (POST 7) Place: Alpine Princess (POST 6) Show: Lost Horizon (POST 2)

Betting Strategy: Splendora (POST 7) to win, with exacta coverage including Alpine Princess (POST 6) and Lost Horizon (POST 2). In the trifecta, use all five legitimate threats (Splendora (POST 7), Alpine Princess (POST 6), Lost Horizon (POST 2), Scalable (POST 1), Nerazurri (POST 5)) in a rotating spread. This is a strong Pick 4 anchor race for the sequence heading toward the Haskell.

RACE 7 — Post 2:56 — 1980f | T | G3 | Matchmkr-G3 | BUM | Purse $300,000

Pace Analysis

The Grade 3 Matchmaker Stakes at 1 1/8 miles on turf for fillies and mares presents a fascinating dual co-favorite scenario. Sweet Treasure (POST 1) trained by Brad Cox with Irad Ortiz Jr. and City Girl (POST 3) trained by Chad Brown with Flavien Prat are both at 2-1. Cox already has Further Ado (POST 2) loaded for the Haskell and Alpine Princess (POST 6) in the Molly Pitcher — now Sweet Treasure (POST 1) opens another front in the Grade stakes wars. Grayosh (POST 2) from Brown at 4-1 gives the Brown barn a secondary entry. Long Ago (POST 7) from William Morey with Paco Lopez at 4-1 is the course specialist type that often shows up in Monmouth turf stakes.

Key Contenders

City Girl (POST 3) at 2-1 from Chad Brown with Flavien Prat has the slight edge in this analysis. Brown's record in turf routes with fillies at the graded level is extraordinary, and Prat's patient, tactical riding style is perfectly suited to 1 1/8 miles on grass. Post 3 is ideal for a turf route, placing City Girl (POST 3) in position to track the early pace without expending energy.

Sweet Treasure (POST 1) at 2-1 from Brad Cox with Irad Ortiz Jr. has the rail, which in a 1 1/8-mile turf route with seven runners is manageable. Ortiz is expert at placing a horse in a pocket and getting out when needed. Cox's Grade 3 turf fillies have been well-prepared this summer, and Sweet Treasure (POST 1) is not to be dismissed.

Secondary Choices

Grayosh (POST 2) at 4-1 from Brown means the barn controls two of the top three posts in a seven-horse Grade 3. Grayosh (POST 2) with Gaffalione offers excellent value if City Girl (POST 3) draws all the attention. Two Brown entries running together in a turf route often results in one tracking the other and both running enormous figures.

Long Ago (POST 7) at 4-1 from William Morey with Paco Lopez is the intriguing price angle. Lopez is incredibly dangerous on the Monmouth turf, and Long Ago (POST 7) from the outside post in a seven-horse field allows the horse to find its own pace without early traffic.

Cheetah Lady (POST 5) at 6-1 from Whit Beckman with Luis Saez is Beckman's runner after Ocelli (POST 7) headlines in the Haskell. Cheetah Lady (POST 5) at 6-1 with Saez in a seven-horse Grade 3 deserves respect.

Longshots

Five G (POST 6) at 8-1 from George Weaver has no rider assigned, which reduces appeal. Creative Stuff (POST 4) at 30-1 from JoAnn Bertone with C. Sutherland is a throw-out in Grade 3 company.

Selections

Win: City Girl (POST 3) Place: Sweet Treasure (POST 1) Show: Grayosh (POST 2)

Betting Strategy: The Brown barn has both the primary pick and a second contender here. An exacta of City Girl (POST 3) over Sweet Treasure (POST 1) and Grayosh (POST 2) is the core play. Long Ago (POST 7) at 4-1 with Lopez in the trifecta underneath provides value. Gaffalione on Grayosh (POST 2) in a Pick 3 flowing toward the Regret Stakes and United Nations is a solid sequence to play.

RACE 8 — Post 3:29 — 1320f | D | AO | OClm 15000n1x | BUN | Purse $60,000

Pace Analysis

This optional $15,000 non-winners of one other than claiming sprint at seven furlongs on dirt features 12 runners and the clear morning line favorite Superfractor (POST 11) at 2-1 from Ben Perkins Jr. with Pascacio Lopez. The pace will be fast early in a 12-horse sprint, with multiple speed horses likely to contest the front end. Roma Art (POST 3) from Kelly Breen with Luis Rivera Jr. at 5-1 and Electric Eel (POST 9) from Anthony Margotta Jr. with Irad Ortiz Jr. at 10-1 are both intriguing angles given their connections.

Key Contenders

Superfractor (POST 11) at 2-1 is the clear public choice despite drawing the second-from-outside post in a 12-horse sprint, which is suboptimal in a dirt dash. Lopez will need to angle the horse toward the front early or find a seam on the turn. Ben Perkins Jr. is a capable Monmouth conditioner, and Superfractor (POST 11) at 2-1 has earned its morning line on form.

Electric Eel (POST 9) at 10-1 with Irad Ortiz Jr. is a significant overlay angle. Ortiz rarely takes a mount without genuine confidence, and at 10-1 in an optional claimer with the nation's best rider, Electric Eel (POST 9) is the best value play in this race. Ortiz is capable of winning from any post in a sprint.

Roma Art (POST 3) at 5-1 from Kelly Breen with Rivera is well-drawn from post 3 and should find an easy berth near the pace. Breen's optional claimers consistently hit the board, and Roma Art (POST 3) is a live 5-1 shot.

Secondary Choices

St. Erling (POST 8) at 6-1 from Joan Milne with C. Sutherland is a mid-tier price horse. Gaelicheartofgold (POST 6) at 8-1 from Wayne Potts with Gaffalione is another Gaffalione appearance worth noting — GAFFALIONE (POST 6) riding an 8-1 in a 12-horse optional claiming sprint suggests the mount has more ability than the price implies. Doin This (POST 10) at 8-1 from Rory Huston with Ferrer is another possible factor.

Longshots

Sir Newtons Laws (POST 7) at 10-1 from Eddie Owens Jr. completes the mid-price tier. Royal Performance (POST 4) at 15-1 from Breen is the barn's secondary entry and typically serves as a pacemaker. Kaz Sweet Heist (POST 5) at 15-1, Pogi (POST 1) at 12-1, Island Spirit (POST 12) at 10-1, and Perrotto (POST 2) at 30-1 are all outside the primary wagering scope.

Selections

Win: Electric Eel (POST 9) Place: Roma Art (POST 3) Show: Superfractor (POST 11)

Betting Strategy: Electric Eel (POST 9) at 10-1 with Ortiz is the value play to win. Exacta: Electric Eel (POST 9) over Roma Art (POST 3) and Superfractor (POST 11) at a price that offers genuine return. Include Gaelicheartofgold (POST 6) in the trifecta for bottom Gaffalione coverage.

RACE 9 — Post 4:05 — 1210f | T | N | WolfHillB100k | BUN | Purse $100,000

Pace Analysis

The Wolf Hill Stakes on turf at approximately six furlongs is a $100,000 non-restricted event featuring Alogon (POST 5) from Edward Allard with Flavien Prat at 2-1 as the morning line choice, and Nothing Better (POST 6) from Jorge Duarte Jr. with Pascacio Lopez at 3-1. Souper Quest (POST 1) from Mark Casse with Irad Ortiz Jr. at 4-1 adds major class credibility to the front of the field. With multiple early speed types, this six-furlong turf sprint could see a honest pace that benefits closers.

Key Contenders

Alogon (POST 5) at 2-1 from Edward Allard with Flavien Prat is the morning line choice. Allard is a skilled conditioner of turf sprinters, and PRAT (POST 5) brings elite tactical ability to a six-furlong turf dash. Post 5 is a solid draw in a 10-horse turf sprint, allowing Alogon (POST 5) to find its preferred running style without committing early.

Nothing Better (POST 6) at 3-1 from Jorge Duarte Jr. with Paco Lopez is extremely well-drawn at post 6. Lopez excels in turf sprints at Monmouth, and Nothing Better (POST 6) adjacent to the morning line favorite should be able to track the pace perfectly. The 3-1 price offers real value given Lopez's form at this oval in this distance.

Souper Quest (POST 1) at 4-1 from Mark Casse with Irad Ortiz Jr. has the rail in a turf sprint, which can be advantageous at Monmouth in shorter distances. ORTIZ (POST 1) from the rail with a sharp conditioner in Casse gives Souper Quest (POST 1) legitimate winning credentials.

Secondary Choices

Fierce And Strong (POST 9) at 5-1 from Michael Salvaggio Jr. with J.C. Ferrer is a mid-range price with form consistency. Amoudi Bay (POST 7) at 8-1 from Lindsay Schultz with Luis Saez is another Saez appearance in a stakes race worth respecting.

Longshots

Card Trick (POST 10) at 12-1 from Edward Allard with Forest Boyce is the second Allard entry, possibly a pacemaker. I'm A Gambler (POST 3) at 10-1 from Synnefias has no rider listed. Kalahari Not Sorry (POST 4) at 30-1 from Kathlee Crook-Demasi has no rider listed. Spirited Sol (POST 8) at 10-1 from Kimberly DePasquale, Alder (POST 2) at 30-1 from David Jacobson, and Card Trick (POST 10) round out the field.

Selections

Win: Nothing Better (POST 6) Place: Alogon (POST 5) Show: Souper Quest (POST 1)

Betting Strategy: Nothing Better (POST 6) at 3-1 is the value play in the Wolf Hill over the morning line favorite. Exacta box of Nothing Better (POST 6) and Alogon (POST 5) is the core play. Souper Quest (POST 1) underneath in the trifecta. This race is a strong Pick 3 pivot heading into the Regret Stakes and United Nations.

RACE 10 — Post 4:37 — 1320f | D | N | RegretB100k | BUM | Purse $100,000

Pace Analysis

The Regret Stakes at seven furlongs on dirt for fillies and mares features a co-favorite scenario with Echo Sound (POST 5) from George Arnold II with Luis Saez and Kilwin (POST 9) from the same Arnold barn with Edgar Morales, both at 2-1. The Arnold barn running a co-entry in a $100,000 stakes is a fascinating angle — stablemate entries in sprints can influence pace strategy significantly. Ms. Bucchero (POST 4) from Mark Casse with Irad Ortiz Jr. at 4-1 is the primary challenger.

Key Contenders

Echo Sound (POST 5) at 2-1 is the better-regarded Arnold entry based on the assignment of Saez in the irons. From post 5, Echo Sound (POST 5) should settle comfortably behind the pace and fire in the stretch. Arnold's stakes fillies have been solid this summer, and Saez's ability to get a horse into a perfect position before asking is ideally suited to a 7-furlong sprint.

Ms. Bucchero (POST 4) at 4-1 from Mark Casse and Irad Ortiz Jr. is the standout overlay value in this race. Casse ships runners into Monmouth with specific targets in mind, and Ms. Bucchero (POST 4) in the Regret with ORTIZ (POST 4) in the irons at 4-1 is a compelling wager. Casse's fillies in stakes competition are routinely well-placed and fit.

Kilwin (POST 9) at 2-1 from Arnold with Morales is the co-favorite at the outside post. The use of Edgar Morales rather than Saez on the secondary entry tells you something about which Arnold runner the connections prefer. Kilwin (POST 9) from post 9 in a seven-furlong sprint will need to work harder early to find good position.

Secondary Choices

Disco Ebo (POST 10) at 8-1 from Robert Reid Jr. with Pascacio Lopez is a notable live price horse. Lopez in a sprint with a mid-range price tag has performed above expectations throughout the summer meet. Do Gooder (POST 1) at 12-1 from Jena Antonucci with Flavien Prat — note that Prat on a 12-1 morning line horse in a $100,000 stakes is worth a second look. If Prat committed to this mount over others, GOODER (POST 1) could outrun the morning line.

Longshots

Summer's Comin (POST 7) at 15-1 from Mike Dini with Gaffalione is another elite rider on a price horse. Unsolved Mystery (POST 11) at 15-1, My Magic Wand (POST 6) at 10-1 (no rider listed), Jewel Of The Ocean (POST 2) at 20-1, It's Goodtobe Jose (POST 3) at 20-1, and Tickin Time Blonde (POST 8) at 30-1 complete the field.

Selections

Win: Echo Sound (POST 5) Place: Ms. Bucchero (POST 4) Show: Kilwin (POST 9)

Betting Strategy: Echo Sound (POST 5) to win, with exacta coverage over Ms. Bucchero (POST 4) and Kilwin (POST 9). Do Gooder (POST 1) with Prat at 12-1 is a trifecta inclusion for live price coverage. The Arnold barn co-entry creates a scenario where one of their horses likely runs well and the other does not, so the key is identifying which one — Echo Sound (POST 5) with Saez is the stronger bet.

RACE 11 — Post 5:09 — 2420f | T | G2 | UnitdNtn-G2 | BUN | Purse $500,000

Pace Analysis

The Grade 2 United Nations Stakes at 1 3/8 miles on turf is among the most historically prestigious grass races on the East Coast, dating to 1953 at Atlantic City. Program Trading (POST 4) from Chad Brown with Flavien Prat at 2-1 is the morning line choice and has attracted the most pre-race attention from handicappers. The distance of 1 3/8 miles on turf rewards horses with exceptional stamina and tactical versatility. Echo Lane (POST 3) from Rohan Crichton with Luis Saez at 4-1 and Uncle's Gold (POST 6) from Michael Trombetta with Pascacio Lopez at 4-1 are the logical foils. Just A Touch (POST 7) from Brad Cox with Irad Ortiz Jr. at 2-1 gives Cox yet another marquee runner on Haskell Day.

Key Contenders

Program Trading (POST 4) at 2-1 from Chad Brown and Flavien Prat is the consensus top selection and the horse handicappers have identified as the United Nations headline. Brown has dominated the United Nations Stakes over the years, turning the race into something of a personal domain at Monmouth. Program Trading (POST 4) from post 4 in an eight-horse field is ideally placed, and Prat's judgment in a 1 3/8-mile turf route is without peer. This horse carries the weight of expectation and the most accomplished connections in the race.

Just A Touch (POST 7) at 2-1 from Brad Cox with Irad Ortiz Jr. is the co-favorite from an outside post. Cox having a co-morning-line runner in the United Nations adds tactical complexity — Just A Touch (POST 7) will need to work harder from post 7, but Ortiz is excellent at finding position early in turf routes. Cox's presence with two operations (this entry and the Haskell favorite) makes Haskell Day a potential grand slam for the trainer.

Echo Lane (POST 3) at 4-1 from Rohan Crichton with Luis Saez is a significant price challenger. Crichton is not a household name at Monmouth, but Saez taking the mount at 4-1 in a Grade 2 on turf signals legitimate ability. From post 3 in a 1 3/8-mile turf route, Echo Lane (POST 3) should get a beautiful trip tracking the pace from just off the rail.

Secondary Choices

Uncle's Gold (POST 6) at 4-1 from Michael Trombetta with Paco Lopez is a Maryland-based operation that knows how to win on the turf. Trombetta's graded stakes entries are carefully placed, and Uncle's Gold (POST 6) at 4-1 with Lopez in a United Nations deserves wagering respect. Lopez at Monmouth in a turf route is a recurring theme on this card, and he will be primed for a big day.

Thundering (POST 5) at 15-1 from Derek Ryan with Tyler Gaffalione appears overpriced if the horse has been productive recently. GAFFALIONE (POST 5) taking a 15-1 morning line mount in a Grade 2 is worth noting.

Longshots

Eldest Son (POST 1) at 30-1 from Michael Simone, Telescopic (POST 2) at 20-1 from Victoria Oliver, and Post Command (POST 8) at 30-1 from Sergio Rabadan are all unlikely to factor in serious wagering.

Selections

Win: Program Trading (POST 4) Place: Echo Lane (POST 3) Show: Uncle's Gold (POST 6)

Betting Strategy: Program Trading (POST 4) at 2-1 to win and as the primary key in exactas. Exacta: Program Trading (POST 4) over Echo Lane (POST 3), Uncle's Gold (POST 6), and Just A Touch (POST 7). In the trifecta, open the bottom half to include Just A Touch (POST 7) and Thundering (POST 5). This is a Pick 3 finale with the Haskell and Race 13, making Program Trading (POST 4) a must-use single if confident.

RACE 12 — Post 5:45 — 1980f | D | G1 | Haskell-G1 | BON | Purse $1,000,000

Pace Analysis

The 59th running of the Grade 1 Haskell Stakes at 1 1/8 miles on dirt for 3-year-olds carries an automatic Breeders' Cup Classic berth. The field of seven presents a relatively clear pace scenario: Star Sweeper (POST 1) from Louis Linder Jr. is the lone clear early speed type from the rail, and will attempt to dictate terms on the front end. Further Ado (POST 2) from post 2 should press or track from a perfect position directly behind the early pace. Napoleon Solo (POST 6) with Paco Lopez from mid-field should find a comfortable tracking spot. Iron Honor (POST 5) from Chad Brown with Flavien Prat will be deployed as a stalker or closer. The pace should be honest enough to set up a genuine stretch run.

Handicappers have noted that this race figures to benefit the horse who can secure a forward position early while rating comfortably — the very description that fits Further Ado (POST 2) from post 2 perfectly. The inside posts at Monmouth's 1 1/8-mile route configuration have been productive throughout the meet.

Key Contenders

Further Ado (POST 2) at 2-1 morning line is Brad Cox's declaration as the premier 3-year-old in the country, and the horse's post-Kentucky Derby form has been exceptional. From post 2, Irad Ortiz Jr. will have the luxury of sitting directly behind Star Sweeper (POST 1) without using extra energy, then sweeping to the outside at the far turn when the pace begins to tell. Further Ado (POST 2) is a Gun Runner colt with the tactical versatility to win from multiple positions, and the combination of Cox-Ortiz at the top of their games in a Grade 1 makes this the play.

Napoleon Solo (POST 6) at 5-2 is the Preakness Stakes winner who returns two months after that career-defining victory. Trained by Chad Summers and ridden by Paco Lopez, Napoleon Solo (POST 6) has the form edge of a Grade 1 winner and a jockey who has become synonymous with winning at Monmouth Park. Post 6 in a seven-horse field is manageable, and Lopez will ensure Napoleon Solo (POST 6) is in a good spot approaching the far turn. The class of a Preakness victory cannot be dismissed, and Napoleon Solo (POST 6) at 5-2 is a legitimate favorite-price horse at its morning line.

Secondary Choices

Iron Honor (POST 5) at 3-1 is the Preakness runner-up from Chad Brown's barn with Flavien Prat in the irons. Brown winning the Haskell with Prat aboard while simultaneously running Program Trading (POST 4) in the United Nations and City Girl (POST 3) and Grayosh (POST 2) in the Matchmaker would represent an extraordinary day for the Shed Row juggernaut. Iron Honor (POST 5) has already proven it can run against the best 3-year-olds, and the Preakness second-place finish against Napoleon Solo (POST 6) is the form line of the race. In a rematch, Iron Honor (POST 5) could reverse the Preakness result with a pace scenario that suits a closer.

The Puma (POST 4) at 4-1 from Gustavo Delgado with Luis Saez is a wildcard in this seven-horse field. Saez riding a 4-1 morning line horse in the Haskell against three legitimate Grade 1 contenders indicates a horse with genuine credentials. The Puma (POST 4) from post 4 is sandwiched between the two co-favorites in the draw, and if the pace scenario develops favorably, this could be a career-defining effort.

Longshots

Ocelli (POST 7) at 6-1 is the Whit Beckman-trained maiden who has earned $800,000 without a win. Ocelli (POST 7) with Tyler Gaffalione could be a surprise factor — Gaffalione is a savvy jockey who will attempt to nurse Ocelli (POST 7) into a challenging position late in the race. The maiden angle in a Grade 1 is concerning, but the horse's consistent form against quality opposition makes the price defensible in exotics.

Baby Vino (POST 3) at 15-1 from Lindsay Schultz with Jorge Vargas Jr. is a deep longshot in Grade 1 company. Star Sweeper (POST 1) at 30-1 from Linder with Luis Rivera Jr. is the identified front-end speed in this race who will likely be passed on the turn.

Selections

Win: Further Ado (POST 2) Place: Napoleon Solo (POST 6) Show: Iron Honor (POST 5)

Betting Strategy: Further Ado (POST 2) to win is the primary play. The exacta of Further Ado (POST 2) over Napoleon Solo (POST 6) is the core bet. A key exacta with Further Ado (POST 2) on top and Napoleon Solo (POST 6), Iron Honor (POST 5), and The Puma (POST 4) on the bottom covers the field adequately. In the trifecta, use Further Ado (POST 2) and Napoleon Solo (POST 6) on top with Iron Honor (POST 5), The Puma (POST 4), and Ocelli (POST 7) on the bottom. The superfecta of Further Ado (POST 2), Napoleon Solo (POST 6), Iron Honor (POST 5), and The Puma (POST 4) in a wheel is the exotic bet of the day. The Haskell is also a natural single for the Pick 3 and Pick 4 sequences if you are willing to commit to Further Ado (POST 2).

RACE 13 — Post 6:18 — 1760f | T | AO | OClm 20000b | BUN | Purse $41,500

Pace Analysis

This optional $20,000 claiming turf mile in the evening card features Copper Ghost (POST 2) from Michael Trombetta with Pascacio Lopez at 2-1 as the morning line choice. Double Neat (POST 7) from Jose Gallegos with Luis Saez at 3-1 is the primary challenger. Spanish Noble (POST 4) at 4-1 from Kathleen O'Connell with Luis Rivera Jr. rounds out the top three. The pace should be moderate in this turf mile, with Copper Ghost (POST 2) from an inside post likely to track or press the early tempo.

Key Contenders

Copper Ghost (POST 2) at 2-1 from Trombetta and Lopez is a natural continuation of Trombetta's strong showing in the United Nations with Uncle's Gold (POST 6). Copper Ghost (POST 2) from post 2 in a turf mile with Lopez is perfectly placed and has the morning line backing to warrant a win bet.

Double Neat (POST 7) at 3-1 from Jose Gallegos with Luis Saez offers the best price on a legitimate contender in this field. Saez at 3-1 in an optional claimer is consistently profitable, and Double Neat (POST 7) from post 7 in a turf mile should have a clean outside trip.

Secondary Choices

Spanish Noble (POST 4) at 4-1 from O'Connell with Rivera is a mid-field runner from a decent draw. Tropandhagen (POST 1) at 8-1 from Synnefias with Gaffalione is an interesting angle — GAFFALIONE (POST 1) from the rail in a turf optional claimer at 8-1 is potentially undervalued. Mongolian Apple (POST 6) at 8-1 from Renaldo Richards with Ferrer completes the secondary tier.

Longshots

Orator (POST 8) at 6-1 from Kathy Neilson with Marquez, Brighty (POST 5) at 10-1 from Rodolfo Sanchez-Salomon with Vargas, and Lucas's Mischief (POST 3) at 15-1 from Jose Jimenez round out the field.

Selections

Win: Copper Ghost (POST 2) Place: Double Neat (POST 7) Show: Spanish Noble (POST 4)

Betting Strategy: Copper Ghost (POST 2) and Double Neat (POST 7) exacta box is the core play. Tropandhagen (POST 1) with Gaffalione in the trifecta at 8-1 offers value. This race concludes the Pick 3 sequence that starts with Race 11.

RACE 14 — Post 6:46 — 1320f | D | AO | OClm 20000b | BUN | Purse $48,000

Pace Analysis

The final race of the card is an optional $20,000 claiming sprint at seven furlongs on dirt featuring the Chad Brown entry Dragonite (POST 7) at 2-1 with Flavien Prat. Guapo Again (POST 5) from Kelly Breen with Pascacio Lopez at 3-1 is the logical challenger. Complex Music (POST 1) at 4-1 from Synnefias and Tenebris (POST 2) at 4-1 from Miguel Vera round out the competitive core. The pace figures to be hot in a seven-furlong optional claimer with multiple speed sources in the field.

Key Contenders

Dragonite (POST 7) at 2-1 from Chad Brown with Flavien Prat is the cap to what could be an extraordinary day for the Brown operation. Brown sending Prat on Dragonite (POST 7) in the nightcap optional claimer after running in multiple graded stakes is a sign of confidence in the horse. From post 7 in an eight-horse sprint, Prat will angle for a position in the first three, then unleash Dragonite (POST 7) in the stretch.

Guapo Again (POST 5) at 3-1 from Kelly Breen with Paco Lopez is the competitive threat. Lopez after a full day at Monmouth will be primed for the nightcap, and Breen's optional claimers consistently perform. Guapo Again (POST 5) from post 5 with inside position to leverage is a competitive player.

Secondary Choices

Complex Music (POST 1) at 4-1 from Synnefias with J.C. Ferrer has the rail in a sprint, which at Monmouth in a seven-furlong configuration is a genuine advantage. Tenebris (POST 2) at 4-1 from Miguel Vera with Luis Rivera Jr. is a secondary price horse from a complementary post.

Longshots

John Jay (POST 4) at 10-1 from Patrick McBurney with Jose Antonio Gomez, Charlie Mac Mac (POST 6) at 12-1 from Tony Wilson, Mike's Magic (POST 8) at 10-1 from Timothy Hills with Charlie Marquez, and Divine Peace (POST 3) at 20-1 from Jose Jimenez complete the field.

Selections

Win: Dragonite (POST 7) Place: Guapo Again (POST 5) Show: Complex Music (POST 1)

Betting Strategy: Dragonite (POST 7) to win and key in exactas. An exacta of Dragonite (POST 7) over Guapo Again (POST 5) and Complex Music (POST 1) is the core play. In the trifecta, Tenebris (POST 2) underneath provides price coverage.

Jockey Notes and Insights

Flavien Prat is positioned for one of the most productive single-race days in Monmouth Park history. He holds mounts in the Monmouth Cup on Knightsbridge (POST 4), the Molly Pitcher on Splendora (POST 7), the Matchmaker on City Girl (POST 3), the Haskell on Iron Honor (POST 5), the United Nations on Program Trading (POST 4), and the optional claiming sprint in Race 5 on Midway Memories (POST 5) and the nightcap on Dragonite (POST 7). If the Chad Brown and Bob Baffert runners fire as expected, Prat could approach five winners on the day. His record in turf routes at the Grade 2 and Grade 3 level is unmatched among active riders.

Irad Ortiz Jr. is equally loaded with marquee mounts: Money Game (POST 1) in the Monmouth Cup, Alpine Princess (POST 6) in the Molly Pitcher, Sweet Treasure (POST 1) in the Matchmaker, Electric Eel (POST 9) in the optional claiming sprint, Souper Quest (POST 1) in the Wolf Hill, Ms. Bucchero (POST 4) in the Regret, Just A Touch (POST 7) in the United Nations, and Further Ado (POST 2) in the Haskell. Ortiz is the most accomplished rider in North America, and his book on Haskell Day represents a who's-who of elite connections.

Pascacio Lopez is the meet's leading rider at Monmouth and maintains an extraordinary strike rate at this oval. His mounts today are extensive: Tail Risk (POST 1) in Race 1, Admiral Mo (POST 9) in Race 2, Tocayo (POST 9) in Race 3, Alexander Helios (POST 3) in the Monmouth Cup, Napoleon Solo (POST 6) in the Haskell, Dry Powder (POST 3) in the Molly Pitcher, Long Ago (POST 7) in the Matchmaker, Nothing Better (POST 6) in the Wolf Hill, Uncle's Gold (POST 6) in the United Nations, Disco Ebo (POST 10) in the Regret, Guapo Again (POST 5) in the nightcap, and Copper Ghost (POST 2) in Race 13. Lopez's intimate knowledge of the Monmouth turf and dirt surfaces is a significant advantage, and Napoleon Solo (POST 6) with Lopez in the Haskell is a formidable combination.

Tyler Gaffalione is quietly having an excellent meet. His stakes mounts include Skippylongstocking (POST 5) in the Monmouth Cup, Lost Horizon (POST 2) in the Molly Pitcher, Grayosh (POST 2) in the Matchmaker, Gaelicheartofgold (POST 6) in Race 8, Ocelli (POST 7) in the Haskell, and Tropandhagen (POST 1) in Race 13. Gaffalione at 10-1 on Electric Eel (POST 9) — wait, that mount goes to Ortiz. Regardless, Gaffalione's presence on Ocelli (POST 7) in the Haskell is worthy of respect given his skill in routing these maidens.

Luis Saez holds several key mounts including Profound (POST 8) in Race 2, Six Fortyfive (POST 3) in Race 3, Kinetic (POST 2) in the Monmouth Cup, Sonja Henie (POST 9) in Race 5, Nerazurri (POST 5) in the Molly Pitcher, Cheetah Lady (POST 5) in the Matchmaker, Amoudi Bay (POST 7) in the Wolf Hill, Echo Sound (POST 5) in the Regret, Echo Lane (POST 3) in the United Nations, The Puma (POST 4) in the Haskell, and Double Neat (POST 7) in Race 13. Saez's presence across virtually every race on the card underscores his willingness to log a full day.

Trainer Notes and Insights

Brad Cox enters Haskell Day with arguably the most powerful single-barn effort at any one race card in recent memory. He saddles Further Ado (POST 2) in the Haskell, Money Game (POST 1) in the Monmouth Cup, Alpine Princess (POST 6) in the Molly Pitcher, Sweet Treasure (POST 1) in the Matchmaker, Just A Touch (POST 7) in the United Nations, and Dionysus (POST 7) in Race 2. Cox has publicly staked his reputation on Further Ado (POST 2) being the best
