Pick Pony Handicapper Report — CTD, September 19, 2026

Fast, dry conditions favor early speed on the main dirt oval today, with lone pace scenarios especially dangerous in the claiming ranks. Post position matters most in the sprints; at route distances, mid-pack tracking positions from posts four through six have shown the strongest ROI at this meet.

Race 1 — 1320f | OClm $17,500 | n3l

Drinking Again (4) is the even-money choice and figures to control or press the pace in this five-horse sprint. Bar Down Express (2) is the main threat at 2-1 with strong tactical awareness in sprints. Who Is (3) at 4-1 is worth including underneath in exactas if the top two set pace on each other; Frostedbird (1) is a trifecta-only longshot at 8-1.

Race 2 — 1430f | OClm $17,000 | Fillies & Mares

Daou (4) is the best value play on the card at 3-1 — if co-favorites Red Charity (2) and Gigi's Addiction (3) engage each other early, a stalker from the middle of the field gets a clear shot. Use Daou (4) on top in exactas with both co-favorites underneath. Madeline Tothe Max (5) at 4-1 and Undeniable Jill (1) at 6-1 round out trifecta coverage.

Race 3 — 1430f | OClm $17,000 | Males

Ole's Surprise (4) at even money is the clear top selection and figures to control the pace narrative from a comfortable mid-gate post. Twickenham (5) at 3-1 is the preferred alternative, with stablemate Genie's Ride (1) at 4-1 worth tracking for stable money movement. Bakk N Beautiful (3) at 6-1 is a meaningful exacta and trifecta add-on underneath the favorite.

Race 4 — 1320f | Clm $5,000 | Males

Fastestgirlintown (3) at 2-1 has the ideal gate speed and post position to clear and control this sprint. Co-favorite Quality Command (5) at 2-1 is equally respected, making an exacta box of the two the base play. Why Nots A Wynner (1) at 4-1 and Stay Up (4) at 4-1 round out the trifecta; Thrill Of The Nite (6) at 8-1 is a deep trifecta addition only.

Race 5 — 1870f | Clm $6,500 | n4x

Curlin Rocks (1) from the inside post with the meet's leading rider is the single best bet of the first half of the card — a front-runner at a route distance with soft pace potential is very difficult to run down. Kangaroo Coast (7) at 2-1 is the co-favorite but faces a wide draw concern at the first turn. Quinto Sol (4) at 3-1 and Trapeze (3) at 4-1 are the most credible threats; Writ In Stone (6) at 10-1 offers trifecta value from a stalking trip.

Race 6 — 1870f | Clm $12,500

Sparklet (4) at 2-1 is the strongest single on the card — top connections, ideal post, and the highest-purse claiming race of the back half all align. Thompson (5) at 3-1 is a live exacta partner capable of tracking and pouncing late, while Strait Of Georgia (1) at 4-1 could wire the field if allowed a soft lead. J Dutton (3) at 6-1 and Space (2) at 8-1 are trifecta inclusions; Broke An Broken (7) and Lemon Meringue (6) are superfecta bombs only.

Race 7 — 1430f | Clm $6,000 | Males | 9 horses

Dreaming D'oro (2) at 3-1 is the top selection in a wide-open nine-horse finale with a capable connection pointing toward this spot. Princess Fave (7) at 4-1 with a top rider from a trainer who also wins in the feature race directly prior is the preferred exacta partner. Flirtation Card (8) and Dare To Compare (1), both at 4-1, give the barn double coverage and deserve trifecta inclusion; Brodys Souvenir (5) at 8-1 is the best-priced superfecta addition in a field where upsets are routine.
