Delta Downs — August 21, 2026 — Pick Pony Condensed Report

Hot, humid conditions with a chance of pre-card storms could leave the track sloppy early before drying through the later races; monitor conditions before wagering. Gate efficiency and early speed dominate every race on this card, particularly in the ultra-short quarter horse sprints where the break is essentially the entire race. Favorites are well-supported across the card, making exotic construction the primary source of value.

Race 1 — 400f | Alw 14000b

One Sweet Boss (2) is the deserving 2-1 favorite with the best class and recency in the field. Gt N Boos Runaway (1) from the clean inside post is the logical second choice behind a top trainer. Gold Hearted Eagle (7) and Gbh Fiscal Toni (8) round out the exotic ticket, with FISCAL TONI offering value at 8-1.

Race 2 — 870f | Clm 7500n2l

Bt Bluesman (3) holds the class edge and an ideal post in the card's only thoroughbred route. Tc Mora Mia (6) at 3-1 is the top value alternative and should be included in all exacta constructions. One Scared Up Hero (5) at 4-1 is a pace factor and worth a show ticket; Flying In The Am (7) at 10-1 merits a single exotic inclusion if the pace collapses.

Race 3 — 250f | Alw 12000n1x

Ocho Rojo (3) is the overwhelming even-money favorite in what reads as a one-horse field at 250 feet. Jess Joseph M (2) and First Cash Ha Chi (6), both at 4-1, are the best alternatives and should anchor exacta plays beneath the chalk. Use Ocho Rojo (3) as a single in multi-race sequences rather than a straight win bet given the minimal return.

Race 4 — 350f | Md 5000

Wide-open maiden $5,000 field where gate consistency is the great equalizer; spread liberally. Tee Jolie (3) at 3-1 tops the morning line, with Jtf Rubi (10) and A Fabulous Moon (2) at 4-1 as the co-second choices. Jrs Jess A Jewel (1) at 6-1 is a live fourth option from the inside post in what is the card's most unpredictable race.

Race 5 — 300f | Alw 24000n2l (Fillies & Mares)

Jrs Shes Macho (9) is the 2-1 featured-race favorite and the best single on the card despite the wide outside post. Pistol Packing Angel (3) and Driving To Da Finish (4), both at 4-1, are ideally drawn and represent the primary threats in what should be a quick, clean speed duel. She B Zoomin (5) at 6-1 is the top trifecta saver in the third spot.

Race 6 — 250f | Md 10000 (Fillies & Mares)

Lm Shez An Eagle (7) at 3-1 is the morning line choice in a ten-horse maiden sprint where the gate break decides everything. Love That Ash (3) at 4-1 and Suezque Leavingu (2) at 5-1 are the logical underneath horses for exactas and trifectas. One Fabulous Lady (1) and Dlj Dashing Millie (5), both at 6-1, are worth including in the third spot of trifecta and superfecta tickets.

Race 7 — 440f | OClm 15000 (Featured)

Fast Lane Train (4) at 2-1 is the class of the field from an ideal inside-middle post in the evening's richest race. Sheza Fast Piloto (3) and Nxs (2) at 4-1 are the primary pace rivals and form the core of exacta plays beneath the favorite. Mardi Gras Train (7) at 6-1 with Cabrera is the night's best closer play if the pace is contested; the Fast Lane Train (4) over Mardi Gras Train (7) exacta is the top value construction of the evening.

Race 8 — 300f | Alw 12000n1x

Ragnar The Great (6) at 2-1 is the straightforward favorite from the ideal middle post in a ten-horse allowance sprint. Easee Win (10) at 4-1 is the best value alternative despite the outside draw, and Jessa Dashin Cowgirl (4) at 6-1 rounds out the trifecta structure. One Dashin Esperanza (3) and Patriot Forty Seven (2), both at 8-1, are worth adding as third-position savers.

Race 9 — 400f | Md Sp Wt (Closer)

A Tres Of Politics (3) at 2-1 and Why Im Leaving You (8) at 3-1 form a clear two-horse top in the closing maiden special weight; box them in the exacta. Bad Boy Cowboy (5) at 5-1 is the best win value play of the entire card and the top upset candidate to key beneath the two favorites in trifectas. Badboi Mark (6) at 6-1 and Kr Ivy League (9) at 8-1 are worthwhile third-spot inclusions for spread trifecta tickets.
