Pick Pony Condensed Report — Lone Star Park | April 16, 2026

Fast main track, firm-to-good turf, south headwind in the stretch favoring stamina over pure speed. Inside posts carry a meaningful advantage in sprints; outside posts on the turf face an uphill battle in full fields.

Race 1

Highh Country (1) is the clear top choice from the rail in a two-turn route. Rb Date Nyght (7) is the main danger at a slightly better price. Burning Hess (4) offers stablemate value as a secondary exotic inclusion.

Race 2

Copper Storm (1) gets the nod from the ideal inside post in a six-furlong sprint at co-favorite odds. Dr Skyscraper (4) is the preferred secondary play, with Our Moon Pie (3) worth including if the pace gets honest. Valdina Dreams (6) is the other co-favorite but draws the outside post.

Race 3

Jawdropper (2) and Clarisit (3) share co-favorite status and are best handled as a trifecta box rather than straight win plays. Crazy Caroline (6) is the logical third leg of that box. News Too Serious (1) at 5-1 with the leading rider from the inside post is the best value angle in the race.

Race 4

Chief Brown (1) gets the top call from the rail with a leading rider in a maiden special weight. Heat Um Up (4) is an equal morning line threat and makes a natural exacta partner. Blame Da Innocent (3) at 8-1 with Valdez-Jiminez is the standout longshot play — never dismiss the circuit's top rider at that price.

Race 5

Absolutely Certain (6) is the public choice from a workable post in a 12-horse turf route with a premier national trainer. Texas Creed (2) at 10-1 from inside post two with Valdez-Jiminez is the best price play on the entire card. Aries Honor (5) at 8-1 and Drobny (4) at 8-1 both benefit from favorable inside draws and deserve exotic inclusion.

Race 6

Hidalgo (2) gets the top call on the strength of the Asmussen connection in a maiden special weight. Special Agenda (1) is a live threat from the rail at equal odds. Brilliant Plan (5) at 3-1 is the most attractive price among the public contenders, and Curlin's Union (8) rounds out the trifecta at 5-1.

Race 7

Too Much Kiki (5) edges Modo (6) as the top selection in the Bluebonnet Stakes, with both co-favorites deserving to be boxed in exactas. Naval Woman (7) at 12-1 is the best stakes value on the card — if the even-money pair engage each other early, the Pish closer inherits a soft setup and pays handsomely in the trifecta.

Race 8

Binary Code (2) is the top selection from an ideal post-two draw in the 14-horse turf route. Grind Jim (4) at 4-1 with a leading rider from post four is the best value play of the closing sequence. Roman Eagle (7) is the second public choice and a natural exotic partner, while Sippin Scotch (11) at 12-1 with Valdez-Jiminez and Whiskey Over Ice (3) at 8-1 from post three are the most appealing longshot inclusions.
