Pick Pony Handicapper Report — Lone Star Park, May 9, 2026

Fast main track with a strong speed bias favoring front-runners and inside posts in sprints. Turf firm to good; mid-to-outside posts workable on grass. Warm, dry afternoon with south winds 10–15 mph.

Race 1 — Clm 5000 | 7F | Dirt

Upward Mobility (6) offers the best price-to-probability ratio stalking a likely contested pace. Malibu Rain (5) is the logical favorite and the natural exacta partner. Ells (3) is worth including in trifectas if the two leaders tire.

Race 2 — Clm 7500n3l | 1 1/16M | Dirt

Curlins Incharge (6) is the Asmussen barn's preferred runner at a fair 3-1 with pace likely to be contested early from multiple horses. Rivetage (5) is the morning line favorite and the safest exacta underneath. Ambiguous (2) and Uptown Tappin (7) fill out trifecta coverage if pace collapses up front.

Race 3 — Alw 33500n1x | 6F | Dirt

Misty Muppet (2) gets an ideal second post on a speed-biased track for a top trainer and offers better value than the 2-1 favorite. Curlin's Lil Gal (7) is the public choice and belongs in the exacta both ways. Whimsical Heir (3) and Lottery Ticket (5) are 4-1 secondary options worth trifecta consideration.

Race 4 — OClm 40000b | 1 1/16M | Turf

Calibrate (1) gets the critical rail advantage in a turf route from a top national turf conditioner and is the structural single in this race. Ocelot (5) is an acceptable exacta partner from a workable mid-draw. Executive Power (7) at 6-1 is the overlay in a race with three co-favorites and is worth trifecta inclusion. Wow That's Hot (4) carries the Asmussen premium as a deeper longshot.

Race 5 — Clm 20000n2l | 6F | Dirt

Saint Benji (1) has the ideal rail post on a speed-favoring main track and represents the best structural play on the afternoon at 3-1. Maxxus (5) and I'm A Dude To (7) are the best exacta and trifecta fills. Dettori (9) is the morning line choice but the nine post in a nine-horse sprint is a significant structural disadvantage.

Race 6 — OClm 7500 | 6F | Dirt

Axton (3) is the barn's preferred runner with the better jockey assigned in a dual Cappellucci entry, making it the clear single at 2-1. Third Street (9) and Worth Looking (7) are the logical second and third choices for exacta coverage. Cawkab (8) carries the Asmussen premium at 10-1 for those seeking exotic depth.

Race 7 — OClm 12500n1x | 7F | Turf

All American Lady (1) at 8-1 from the rail in a turf sprint is the best value bet on the card — if she steals a soft lead at that price, she is very difficult to catch. Shy Ann (7) is the co-favorite and the natural exacta partner on top. Kissin Riches (3), Typhoon Tessie (6), and Texas Moon (8) are all 4-1 secondary choices that fill the trifecta bottom.

Race 8 — Md Sp Wt | 5 1/2F | Dirt

Mi Amiga (6) is the clear Asmussen single in a speed-biased maiden sprint and likely to set or press the pace from a mid-draw. Best Beach (7) and Princess Peach (9) are the top-quality second choices for exacta and trifecta coverage. Shesalittledevil (2) at 5-1 gives additional inside coverage for those spreading wider.

Race 9 — Alw 41500n3l | 5 1/2F | Dirt

Texas Creed (4) has the best combination of post position and trainer form at 3-1 and is the recommended single over the morning line favorite. Aggie's Creed (7) is the public choice and the natural exacta underneath. High Cinco (5) at 4-1 rounds out the trifecta, while Charlie Dont Surf (2) at 8-1 is the Willis value bomb for win bettors looking to oppose the chalk.

Race 10 — Md Sp Wt | 7F | Turf

She's A Kitten (3) is the structurally superior choice over Cincalita (13) despite the 1-1 morning line on the outside horse — post three on a thirteen-horse turf sprint is a major positional advantage. Maid To Keep (4) is an equally well-drawn Pish runner and belongs in the exacta alongside She's a Kitten. Bad And Boozy (7) at 5-1 is the best secondary price in this field, and bettors should spread wide in the trifecta given the chaos inherent in a thirteen-horse maiden turf sprint.
