Louisiana Downs — July 29, 2026 Quick Card

Late-July heat and humidity in Bossier City with pop-up storm potential; monitor surface changes before post. Dirt figures fast to good, turf firm to good — tactical speed holds the edge on the green. Inside-to-middle posts favored in dirt sprints; middle posts best in turf sprints; posts one through five preferred in the Route 4 dirt route.

Race 1 — Turf Claiming $7,500

Sand Cast (2) is the top selection pressing or making the pace from an ideal draw. Cinco Richie (6) is the main threat, positioned to swoop if the front runners duel. Publius (1) and Mo Hope (3) are secondary, with Malibu Rain (4) the only Hernandez runner worth a glance in exotics.

Race 2 — Dirt Maiden Claiming $5,000

Exaggerific (4) gets the call with a forward-riding pilot and favorable post to control the pace. Nelle Tue Mani (5) is the natural foil, set up perfectly if the leaders fight early. Guitar Man (2) at 3-1 offers fair exacta value, and Taurean (6) at 6-1 is the live longshot.

Race 3 — Turf Claiming $10,000

Morally Complex (2) is the top pick with the meeting's best jockey and a near-perfect post for a turf mile. Royal B (3) is equally priced and nearly as compelling from post three. Sneaky Stalker (1) and Citycityblingbling (4) fill trifecta slots, while My Lil Poker Face (6) can be dismissed.

Race 4 — Dirt Claiming $5,000

Seamus's Girl (7) is the public choice and deserves win support despite a wide post in this nine-horse route. Steal Me Over (8) benefits from the meeting's top jockey and is the clear second choice. Chapellete (2) offers the best value in the field at 5-1 given her inside draw advantage, with Agami (9) worth trifecta inclusion.

Race 5 — Turf Claiming $7,500

Millie's Stardust (1) is the overwhelming 1-1 favorite and should be used as a single in all multi-race wagers. Tensas Lucy (4) at 3-1 is the only legitimate threat with a top jockey in a workable post. Our Gal Layla (6) and Blissit (5) round out exotic coverage; She's Extra (3) can be dismissed.

Race 6 — Dirt Optional Claiming $20,000

Universal Sound (2) is the near-lock favorite and deserves a straight win bet. Rip Cord (6) at 8-1 is the best value play on the entire card — the Hall of Fame trainer angle in a six-horse field at this price demands attention. Passion D Oro (4) and Essential Time (1) fill supporting exotic slots; Nine Oh One (5) at 30-1 should be avoided entirely.

Race 7 — Turf Allowance $33,000

Clearly Bella (1) holds the positional edge as co-favorite from the inside post in an eight-horse turf sprint. Mo Sky (3) is equally legitimate and the race effectively comes down to these two. Back Street Baby (4) at 6-1 offers trainer-angle value, and Lost Art (2) at 10-1 with the meeting's top jockey is the feature's best value play and belongs in all exotic wagers.
