Mountaineer Park — August 26, 2026 Quick Card

Fast main track and firm turf favor pace-pressers tonight. Juan Pablo Silva and Norberto Arroyo Jr. are the dominant stable-jockey combination on the card; when paired together, their horses are automatic considerations regardless of price. Inside posts carry a structural edge in both the 440f nightcap and the 1210f sprints.

Race 1 — 1210f | Dirt | Clm 4000n1x

Major Tom (4) is the clear top selection with the Silva-Arroyo Jr. combination and the most calculated placement in the field. Team Leyendecker (1) is the best alternative at 3-1 with the rail and a sharp conditioner. Etretat (5) offers fair value at 4-1 if the early pace between the two favorites burns hot.

Race 2 — 1100f | Turf | Clm 10000n3x

Cascabel (8) is the horse to beat with Arroyo Jr. aboard and a pace-pressing style suited to firm turf at this distance. Spice Bag (5) stalks from mid-pack at 3-1 and represents the most likely exacta partner. Blanton (7) at 9-1 is the most interesting longshot for trifecta coverage in a ten-horse field.

Race 3 — 1100f | Turf | Alw 20000n2x

Jammer Insurance (4) is the morning line favorite from a proven mid-Atlantic barn and should control the pace on firm turf. Mr Business (5) is the main threat at 3-1 with a sharp stable and a forward-running style. Arouet (8) at 6-1 and Sonny's Prize (10) at 12-1 as the second Reed entry are both worth trifecta inclusion.

Race 4 — 1100f | Turf | Md 15000

Gevalia (3) at 2-1 is the most credible favorite in a wide-open eleven-filly field with confirmed pace control. Mary Mcgee (8) at 6-1 is the value play of the race with Arroyo Jr. aboard for the hot Silva barn. Charthena (11) and Offthe Beaten Path (10), both at 4-1, provide essential exacta and trifecta coverage in an unpredictable maiden claimer.

Race 5 — 1760f | Dirt | ROC 20-40

Captain Creed (7) at 2-1 is the morning line favorite and the most straightforward win selection at a mile on dirt. Big Spin (6) at 6-1 with Arroyo Jr. for Silva is the best value bet on the entire card and deserves a straight win bet. Arak (8) at 3-1 completes the natural trifecta combination behind the top two.

Race 6 — 1320f | Dirt | OClm 15000n2l

Amour De La Vie (2) and Shuler Gray (6) share co-favorite status at 2-1 and should be boxed in exactas without reservation. Butterfly Effect (5) at 4-1 is the logical trifecta closer. Slush Fund (1) at 12-1 with Arroyo Jr. is a live longshot stab worth a small win bet given the jockey angle.

Race 7 — 1210f | Dirt | Clm 4000n2x

Outkissed (1) at 2-1 has the rail, a sharp jockey, and the clearest pace advantage in a nine-horse field. Joe Phillips (9) at 4-1 with the Silva-Arroyo Jr. combination from the outside is the most dangerous threat if the pace heats up. Courthouse Cove (5) at 3-1 is a legitimate win contender worth including in exactas.

Race 8 — 440f | Dirt | Clm 7500

Super Kick (1) at 2-1 has the best post in the only race on the card where post position is essentially the entire handicap. Cash Customer (2) at 3-1 from post 2 is the natural exacta box partner and the simplest structural bet of the night. Where Ya At Vince (8) at 4-1 is the only outside horse worth including in trifectas given a clean break.
