Mountaineer Park — July 19, 2026 Handicapper Selections

Fast main track with moderate inside speed bias; firm-to-good turf favoring inside posts heavily in routes. Bernardini and Reed are the trainers to target; Arroyo and Batista are the key jockeys throughout. Verify the Arroyo jockey conflict in Race 4 before wagering.

Race 1 — 1320f | Dirt | Clm 4000n2x

Princess Azara (8) is the horse to beat on trainer intent and back class. Mariette (4) gets a favorable inside post and is a legitimate threat, with Becky Is Sexy (2) as a tactical speed option at 4-1. Toss the 20-1 shots at the bottom.

Race 2 — 1830f | Turf | Md 15000

Pivot To The Power (1) gets the rail in a turf marathon, which is the single biggest advantage in this race. Crafty Lawyer (10) has the class edge despite the wide post, and Pigeon Cay (2) is nearly as well-placed as the rail horse. Avoid all runners from post 7 outward.

Race 3 — 1540f | Turf | Clm 15000n3x

Diferencia (3) is the best play on the card — Reed trainer angle, optimal post in a 14-horse turf field, and fair 3-1 price. Sip'n' Speed (2) at 8-1 with Bernardini-Arroyo from an inside post is excellent trifecta value, and Little Value Added (9) and My Lucky Deia (10) are legitimate 4-1 threats. Posts 11 through 14 are throwouts.

Race 4 — 1540f | Turf | Clm 7500

Old Flag (7) is the top choice, with Breezer (4) holding an ideal post draw. Confirm Arroyo's final assignment between Quistmer (5) and Vanzzy (11) before betting — whichever horse he rides becomes an immediate upgrade. Krug (13) at 5-1 is respected despite the wide post.

Race 5 — 990f | Dirt | Md 3200

Maam Cross (9) is the slight top choice on trainer quality, but Rosie Ann Rules (1) at 3-1 from the rail offers better value in a race this short. How Noon Is Now (2) with Arroyo is a solid trifecta addition. Keep bets modest at this claiming level.

Race 6 — 1100f | Dirt | Clm 4000n1y

Tapsolution (7) is the recommended win play on the Bernardini angle, with Big Effect (1) at 4-1 from the rail as the most dangerous rival. Zaddy (6) at 5-1 with Arroyo and Shiva (8) as a player-trainer angle are the best trifecta and superfecta additions.

Race 7 — 1100f | Dirt | Handicap

Flight Control (5) is the top selection, with Larimar (7) as an equally dangerous co-favorite. Waterworks (1) at 9-1 with Arroyo from the rail is the best value play on the entire card — a realistic upset if the two favorites battle each other. Bonita Vida (4) rounds out trifecta coverage.

Race 8 — 1760f | Dirt | Clm 4000n1x

Ember (5) is the top choice on trainer intent, with Gold Buckle (6) and Batista as an equally strong 4-1 alternative. Leo And Royal (1) from the rail controls pace and cannot be dismissed. Cleveland Power (9) at 15-1 with Arroyo is the most interesting longshot on the card and worth a small win bet.
