Pick Pony Handicapper Report — Prairie Meadows | July 20, 2026

Hot, dry conditions favor early speed and pace-pressing types on a fast dirt surface throughout the card. Inside to mid posts hold a slight edge in Thoroughbred races; clean breaks are everything in the Quarter Horse dashes.

Race 1 — 300 Yards | QH Maiden Claiming

The Master Painter (6) is the clear top choice at 1-1 with dominant gate speed and elite connections. Sour Cream Pie (3) and Hot Chicks Wagon (4) are the main threats if the favorite stumbles. Trader Josie (5) is a longshot worth including in trifectas for value.

Race 2 — 400 Yards | QH Allowance

Ajs Secret Cash (7) and Heavenns Grace (2) are co-keys from powerful barns that dominate this division. Apollitical Signs (6) offers similar upside at a slightly better price as a third wheel in exotics. Tres A Blood (3) and La India De Capo (5) are usable underneath at mid-range prices.

Race 3 — 300 Yards | QH Maiden Special Weight

Wisp (3) is a strong single at 1-1 from the top Quarter Horse barn on the grounds. Koolnklassy (1) is a logical stablemate exacta partner from the rail, with Pollitical Drama (4) as the main outside threat. Fire Blood (7) is worth a small trifecta inclusion at 10-1.

Race 4 — ~6F | TB Claiming

Samurai Prince (2) looks significantly classier than this field and should control or press the pace. Chun Money (6) and Clay's Black Opal (7) are the main price threats to use underneath. Lucky's Secret (1) at 8-1 offers rail-draw value and is worth including in deeper exotics.

Race 5 — ~5.5F | TB Maiden Special Weight

Smart Edge (1) gets the inside draw and top connections in a high-purse maiden sprint and rates as the clear top choice. Bee A Cyclone (5) and Pearly Mischief (2) are serious rivals with enough early speed to pressure from the outside. Drinknwiththeirish (3) and Jertango (4) are fair-priced longshots worth adding to trifecta bottoms.

Race 6 — ~6F | TB Maiden Claiming

Typhoon Time (6) and Our Lockets Rocket (3) are co-favorites with similar profiles; Typhoon Time (6) gets a slight edge based on connections dropping into this spot. Mo Kitty (2) at 4-1 is a strong secondary option with a favorable inside draw. Itstartswithadream (8) at 5-1 offers clean outside running room and is usable in exactas and trifectas.

Race 7 — ~9F | TB Allowance

Hawkeye State (5) is the top selection as a tactical stalker with strong connections suited to this high-value route. War Boy (4) is a co-key at the same price and shapes as the main pace-pressser to beat. Quietline (1) at 4-1 gets a ground-saving rail trip, while Golden Biz (6) at 10-1 is a fair longshot play for exotics.

Race 8 — ~9.5F | TB Optional Claiming

Happy Strike (3) earns the top selection in this competitive two-turn optional claimer with tactical speed and strong route connections. Conquering Cat (2) is the co-favorite and runs nearly as well-regarded; both belong on every ticket. Zatara (1) at 4-1 saves ground from the rail, and Tee Off Time (6) at 6-1 is a credible stalker worth including underneath.

Race 9 — ~7F | TB Claiming

Western Feel (6) is the natural closing single in the finale with strong connections and likely ideal pressing position. Plum Irish (7) and Shelley's Money (3) are the primary threats at fair prices. Rainbow Smiles (2) and Platinum Sunrise (9) at 20-1 each are worth a small inclusion at the bottom of trifectas and superfectas.
