Pick Pony Handicapper Report — Timonium, September 7, 2026

Fast, rail-favoring track expected under dry, humid late-summer conditions. Inside posts carry a pronounced structural edge in sprints; route races reward pace control from the rail. Bet accordingly throughout the card.

Race 1 — 880f | Md 5000 | $14,000

Tax And Tags (1) is the play from the coveted rail at 1-1 — every structural advantage Timonium offers falls to this horse. El Papacito (4) is the most credible price threat at 4-1 and fits naturally as the exacta underneath. Chucky Our Law (3) at 8-1 is worth a small exotic inclusion given the clean inside draw.

Race 2 — 1430f | Alw 44000n1x | $44,000

Railroad Inn (1) is the value play at 4-1 from the rail — if allowed a soft lead in this allowance route, it can wire the field at a better price than either 2-1 co-favorite. Easy Action (3) is the logical top choice if you prefer the favorite, and Fayes Heart (2) is ideally positioned to pick up the pieces from post two.

Race 3 — 1430f | Md Sp Wt | $42,000

King Xisco (6) gets the nod based on the hot Corrales-Briceno combination that has been a consistent source of winners throughout this meet. Island Bandit (4) is equally priced at 2-1 and equally dangerous, making an exacta box of the two co-favorites the core play. Elite Warrior (2) at 4-1 offers clean passage from post two and is the preferred secondary value.

Race 4 — 880f | Clm 8000 | $18,000

Nit Witness (4) is the solid 2-1 favorite and the logical win choice, but Lady Charlotte (3) at 4-1 may offer better value given the superior post-position draw in a Timonium sprint. Compass Fire (5) at 3-1 is the main rival; a trifecta box of all three is the recommended exotic structure.

Race 5 — 1430f | Md 25000 | $28,000

Icecreamforevryone (3) at 1-1 is the prohibitive favorite and must anchor all exotic plays — the win bet is poor value but the horse is a near-single in multi-race sequences. Hurricane Lynn (1) at 2-1 from the rail is the one horse capable of upsetting the applecart, and Curly Divining (5) at 4-1 rounds out the trifecta coverage.

Race 6 — 880f | Md 25000 | $28,000

Pelican Pier (2) at 2-1 from post two is structurally ideal and gets the preferred rider from the Robb barn. Befuddled (1) at 3-1 from the rail may actually be the best value in the race with the Farrior barn running three horses and leveraging the inside posts throughout. Whacky Witch (3) at 6-1 completes the trifecta as the second Farrior entry from a clean draw.

Race 7 — 880f | Alw 54000nc | $54,000

Great Andrei (1) at 3-1 is the best single value bet on the card — rail post, top trainer, top jockey, in the richest sprint of the day. Julee's Legacy (4) at 2-1 is the deserving favorite and belongs on top in any exacta structure underneath the upset scenario. Mudslide (3) at 4-1 from post three is the trifecta fill, with Bella Italia (5) as the secondary add.

Race 8 — 1430f | Md 5000 | $14,000

Charge It Baby (3) at 3-1 is preferred over the 2-1 co-favorites given the cleaner inside draw and the Farrior barn's strong presence throughout today's card. Baby Bobby (4) and Furious George (5) are equally priced at 2-1 and fill naturally underneath in exacta and trifecta plays. Meredithslightning (2) at 4-1 from post two is the best longshot inclusion given the structural post advantage.
