Woodbine Handicapper Selections — August 30, 2026

Partly cloudy, mid-to-upper 20s Celsius, firm-to-good turf, neutral Tapeta with no significant bias. Stalkers and mid-pack horses favored in routes; inside posts offer a slight edge in sprints.

Race 1

Kimberlina (6) is the top selection in this turf sprint, combining reliable connections with a favorable outside draw. Atlantic Passage (4) is the main danger at equal odds. Frac Is The Judge (1) and Twist Of Sugar (5) are worth minor exotic inclusion at 4-1 and 8-1 respectively.

Race 2

Ideologist (5) gets the nod on class and connections in this maiden route. Happy To Be Here (2) is the logical stalker and main alternative. Hard Right (3) at 3-1 completes the trifecta key.

Race 3

Laskay (3) is the even-money choice and the horse to beat in this optional claimer. Tux (1) from the inside post is a strong secondary play. Guerra (5) at 4-1 is a credible front-running threat worth trifecta coverage.

Race 4

El Capo (4) tops this seven-horse optional claiming route on versatility and connections. Pretty Capable (6) and Zio Cavallo (2) are both 4-1 and worth including in all exotics. Marshal (1) from the rail at 3-1 is the main pace threat.

Race 5

Winchester Road (8) is the top pick in this maiden sprint despite the wide draw. Aloha Kitty (2) from post 2 is the preferred secondary selection. Charlatan Success (5) at 4-1 and Secured Assets (4) at 8-1 round out the trifecta.

Race 6 — Algoma Stakes

Ella It Is (3) is the best straight-up win bet on the card at 3-1 in this fillies and mares stakes. Fleury (7) at 4-1 is the most dangerous rival, with Regal Moment (9) at 5-1 as the trifecta closer. Flying Schulzy (10) at 10-1 is worth a small exotic saver.

Race 7 — Caledon Stakes

Runaway Again (3) is the heavy favorite and rightfully so at extreme distance. Paramount Prince (5) at 2-1 is the only logical challenger in a thin six-horse field. Saugeen (6) at 8-1 is the sleeper of the race and worth a win ticket and trifecta inclusion.

Race 8 — Simcoe Stakes

Souper Survivor (7) is the top selection in the day's marquee male race. King's Counsel (3) and Road To Glory (2) are the primary exacta partners. Logan's Thunder (9) at 10-1 is the best value play on the card and deserves a win ticket and trifecta spot.

Race 9 — Muskoka Stakes

Sweet Bordeaux (14) tops this wide-open fourteen-horse field despite the outside draw. Bandolier (7) at 4-1 and March (4) at 6-1 are the primary alternatives. Tuscany Rose (2) at 12-1 and Awesome Grace (3) at 12-1 are the best longshot inclusions in a superfecta.

Race 10 — Elgin Stakes

Kekoa (4) is the top selection at 3-1 with Yukon Striker (6) at 4-1 as the strongest rival. Scorching (10) at 6-1 and Paynes Spirit (7) at 8-1 are the best trifecta closers in an eleven-horse field.

Race 11

Rapid Grey (4) is the confident closer play at 1-1 on a short field turf route. Chairman Bob (5) at 3-1 is preferred over Collect Dattt (8) as the secondary pick. Grande Soiree (1) at 5-1 from the rail offers the best exacta overlay.
