Pick Pony Handicapper Report — Woodbine, July 2, 2026

Hot and humid conditions prevail with firm turf and fast Tapeta and dirt surfaces. Inside posts carry a modest edge in turf routes, and front-runners have an advantage on the firm going. Pace is the dominant theme across multiple wide-open fields, particularly where three or more horses share the morning line favorite status.

Race 1 — 1100m Turf | OClm 32000

Artemus Citylimits (1) is the clear top choice from the rail in a short turf sprint, with the inside post eliminating all pace concerns. Split Strike (5) demands respect at the same 2-1 morning line and is the primary danger. Silent Reserve (3) and Caught Speeding (4) are the secondary options, with Caught Speeding (4) offering 8-1 value if the pace heats up early.

Race 2 — 1430m Dirt | Clm 7500

Founder's Day (6) is the morning line favorite with legitimate recent form at this level. Kavala (7) is the main rival at 3-1, with Saucy Name (4) close behind from an excellent post draw. Mrs. Hot Shot (3) at 6-1 from a productive barn is the longshot worth including in exotics.

Race 3 — 1870m Dirt | Clm 7500n2l

Dixie Doll (3) is the top selection among the co-favorites in this stamina test, with Serenading Amaya (1) the key pace threat from the rail that could wire the field if fractions are slow. Black Goddess (4) completes the main trio, and Maxine Magic (8) at 6-1 and Ecliptical Ladybug (2) at 8-1 with Flores up are both worth including in trifectas.

Race 4 — 1650m Turf | Moc 25000

Big Imagination (6) at 4-1 from the Kevin Attard barn is the top selection in a fractured market with three co-favorites at 2-1 splitting the win pool. Crumlin Molly (1) from the rail with Flores up and Stratospheric (4) with Contreras are the most dangerous of the short-priced trio. Alnessa (5) at 8-1 and Lita Marie (7) at 6-1 from a productive barn are the longshots worth including in exotics.

Race 5 — 1430m Dirt | Md 10000

Beau Pink (3) is the morning line favorite with the ideal post draw in a chaotic fourteen-horse field. Fly True North (9) with Flores in the irons is the primary danger and arguably the most compelling angle in the race. Call Me Misslucky (14) at 6-1 rounds out the top three, while Danish Cookie (2) at 10-1 from post two and Ur Heart (12) at 12-1 with Contreras are the best longshot plays.

Race 6 — 1430m Dirt | Moc 40000

Flyonbye (4) at 2-1 is the standout choice with an ideal post draw and strong connections in a manageable field. Up N The Ante (8) at 3-1 and Tiho Srce (5) at 4-1 are the main rivals. Brockwell (1) at 12-1 with Contreras from the rail is the most important longshot on the entire card — a top rider does not take a 12-1 maiden claimer without a reason.

Race 7 — 1650m Turf | Moc 25000

Beach Cricket (5) is the top selection among the co-favorites from the ideal mid-field post at 2-1. Nile Passage (8) at 3-1 is the best value on the board and the recommended exacta partner, with Chocolatecroissant (9) completing the main trio despite the outside draw. Hope She Fires (1) at 6-1 from the rail is the standout longshot play — an uncontested lead at 1650 metres on firm turf from the inside post is a genuine pace upset scenario.
