Woodbine Handicapper Selections — October 30, 2026
Tapeta listed fast, E.P. Taylor Turf firm to good; inside posts favored in sprints, rail advantageous in turf routes. Cold but dry conditions expected throughout the card.
Race 1 — 1320f | Tapeta | Clm 7500n2l
Field Hockey (1) gets the coveted rail in a six-furlong sprint and carries co-favorite status with the post position edge to match. Big Lew (4) is the most likely beneficiary if inside speed horses burn each other up. Scottie's Barn (6) and Autobahn Ace (3) are live if pace collapses.
Race 2 — 1870f | Turf | Clm 15000
Holiday With Amy (2) draws near the rail on the E.P. Taylor Course and is the clear public choice at 2-1. O Wow (3) is similarly well-positioned and offers slight value as the main danger. I'm Tenacious (6) at 6-1 is the most interesting longshot underneath in exotics.
Race 3 — 1870f | Tapeta | Moc 40000
Elissa's Macho (4) gets the nod over co-favorite Winning Agenda (6), who faces a real post disadvantage from the outside in a six-horse route. Once Upon A Kiss (3) at 4-1 offers genuine value as a stalker if the favorites encounter trouble, and Lita Marie (1) at 5-1 from the rail is worth including in exotics.
Race 4 — 1870f | Tapeta | Md 10000
Audi's World (1) holds the rail in a nine-horse maiden route and shares favoritism with a strong rider booking. Gelato (5) at 4-1 is the best value play against the two co-favorites, offering mid-field flexibility. No Cape (7) at 2-1 is legitimate but faces a real post cost from the outside, and Kairos Moment (8) at 6-1 merits exotic consideration.
Race 5 — 1870f | Tapeta | Clm 10000n2l
Balboni's Crew (4) is the card's best overlay at 3-1, presenting a superior post position and elite rider against the 1-1 chalk. Runner Eyes (8) commands respect as the heavy public favorite but creates minimal value from the outside post. Waheela (5) at 6-1 is the most logical spoiler if the favorite encounters trouble from wide.
Race 6 — 1870f | Turf | Clm 15000
Lasting Silence (1) at 2-1 from the rail on the E.P. Taylor Course is the most structurally sound selection of the two turf routes today. Legal Catch (7) at 3-1 offers better value than co-favorite Chairman Bob (6), who faces a more complex trip from the wider draw. Quiet Intent (3) at 8-1 with a clean inside draw is the race's most attractive longshot.
Race 7 — 1540f | Tapeta | Moc 40000
Prime Edge (4) for the Carroll barn is the card's single best bet, combining an elite trainer, top rider, and ideal post position in the day's richest maiden event. Runaway Rocket (6) is an equally well-regarded co-favorite and the logical exacta partner. Connect The Empire (1) at 6-1 from the rail for the Casse barn is a live threat that should not be dismissed in trifecta structures.
Race 8 — 1540f | Tapeta | Clm 5000
Sunrise Drive (3) from a favorable inside post is the morning line favorite and figures to control pace in this chaotic ten-horse bottom-level sprint-route. Crucial Taunt (7) at 3-1 is the main competition, with Ninja Star (10) at 4-1 a key exotic inclusion despite the wide draw. Echo With Laughter (6) at 6-1 is a worthwhile trifecta saver from an off-the-pace position.
Race 9 — 1430f | Tapeta | Md 7500
Lake Nasser (5) holds the morning line favoritism in this wide-open twelve-horse closer, but the real value lies with Sanhedrin (4) at 6-1 from the far superior inside post in the same Attard barn. Prime Rate (11) at 3-1 is a legitimate contender if Moran can overcome the wide draw, and Back Street Driver (1) at 12-1 from the rail with a capable rider is the race's most intriguing longshot.
