Pick Pony Track Condition Report — CTD, October 9, 2026
Track Surface & Bias
CTD's dirt track is expected to favor early speed and stalkers, particularly runners securing position near the inside. On a dry or fast surface, inside-to-middle posts should offer the most efficient trips, while wide closers may need a significant pace collapse to overcome ground loss. Historical dirt-track patterns generally favor tactical speed, though handicappers should reassess after the opening races for any developing rail or path bias.
Handicapper’s Edge
Give extra consideration to horses with proven dirt form, sharp early acceleration, and the ability to maintain position into the first turn. Treat deep closers cautiously unless the early pace appears especially contested; use the first two races to confirm whether the inside lanes are holding effectively.
