Pick Pony Track Condition Report — FAR, July 10, 2026
Track Surface & Bias
On a dirt card, FAR is likely to reward horses with early speed and tactical position, especially if the track is playing fast and dry off a normal summer weather pattern. Under those conditions, inside-to-mid posts tend to be more efficient, and front-runners or stalkers who can secure position before the turn usually have the clearest advantage. If the surface has any moisture or sealing, the bias can tilt even harder toward horses traveling near the pace and saving ground.
Handicapper’s Edge
Build tickets around horses that can break sharply and establish position early, since dirt track dynamics generally make passing more difficult when the surface is quick. Closers become more interesting only if the pace projects to be genuinely contested or the track shows signs of tiring late.
