Track Surface & Bias

With a dry dirt (D) surface, cool temperatures, and steady northwest breeze, Finger Lakes' main track should play fair to slightly speed-favoring. Historically, on dry, cooler days with minimal moisture, early pace types and front‑runners tend to carry their speed well, especially in sprints, while stalkers sitting just off the lead often get the best of things in routes.

Inside paths at Finger Lakes can be modestly favorable on a dry, tight surface, but not overwhelmingly so; posts 1–6 are typically most comfortable, with wide, deep closers needing a strong pace meltdown to overcome ground loss.
