Track Surface & Bias

The dirt track should be treated as potentially moist or drying, while the turf may range from good to yielding depending on shower activity. On a damp Fort Erie surface, inside-to-middle posts and horses able to secure position early often hold an advantage; front-runners and tactical stalkers are preferable to deep closers, particularly if the rail remains relatively firm. On turf, favor runners with proven adaptability and efficient early position rather than extreme late dependents.
