Forecast conditions call for a mild day near 79°F, with a chance of showers or thunderstorms and generally light northeast winds around 2–6 mph. Any rainfall would be the main variable for surface changes during the card.

Track Surface & Bias

The dirt has recently shown a speed-and-inside preference, particularly in 5½- to 6-furlong sprints, favoring rail and inside posts and horses able to secure position early. Dirt routes have been less consistent and have recently rewarded outside paths, while turf sprints have leaned toward forward runners drawn outside; turf routes have more often favored patient closers and middle-to-outside posts.

Handicapper’s Edge

Prioritize tactical speed and efficient inside position in dirt sprints, but avoid applying that bias automatically to longer dirt races. On turf, separate sprints from routes: upgrade outside-drawn pace players in short races and give closers more consideration in turf routes, with rainfall making late surface observations especially important.
