Pick Pony Track Condition Report — Los Alamitos, November 1, 2026

Weather Forecast

Temperatures should run in the 60s, with rain a meaningful possibility as a late-October storm system affects Southern California; moderate southerly to southwesterly winds are possible.

Track Surface & Bias

With the card listed on dirt and recent or ongoing rain in the regional forecast, expect a wet-to-sealed surface if precipitation reaches the track. A sealed, moisture-retaining strip would generally favor inside-to-middle posts and horses able to secure forward position, while a deeper or drying track could give an advantage to stalkers with tactical speed; closers may need a strong pace and a clear outside path.

Handicapper’s Edge

Give extra weight to runners proven over wet dirt and those capable of breaking sharply without getting caught wide. Reassess the bias after the first few races, especially if the surface changes from sealed to drying or develops a pronounced inside/outside pattern.
