The dirt track at Mountaineer Park is currently FAST, providing an excellent racing surface. Fast track conditions typically favor horses with early speed and front-runners who can establish position and maintain momentum through the stretch. Horses drawn in inside post positions (1-4) generally have a tactical advantage on fast dirt, as they encounter less traffic and can more easily control the pace.
