In two‑turn routes, tactical speed from inside to middle posts is usually preferred, with deep closers needing a strong, honest pace and some help from any residual moisture or maintenance that tightens the surface.

Given recent cards run without extreme weather disruptions, handicappers can expect a consistent, relatively tight dirt surface where forward positioning by the first call is an advantage but not an absolute requirement.
