Handicapper's Edge The wagering edge usually leans toward horses with natural early speed and the tactical ability to secure a stalking spot without losing ground early. In exotics, the most reliable angles are often runners drawn well who can either control the pace or sit just off it, rather than relying heavily on stretch-runners to overcome traffic or a moderate tempo.
