Pick Pony Track Condition Report — Turf Paradise April 14, 2026

Track Surface & Bias

The main dirt track (D) is expected to be fast and sealed, continuing the prolonged dry stretch typical of Turf Paradise in spring, favoring front-runners and pace-pressers from inside to middle posts (1–5) where the rail provides consistent footing without excessive leg fatigue. The turf course (T), maintained firmly under dry desert conditions, should play good to firm, benefiting stalkers and closers with tactical speed, especially those drawn outside to avoid ground loss on turns.

Handicapper’s Edge

Favor dirt horses with early speed and inside draws, as the fast surface compresses fractions and hinders deep closers. On turf, target runners with grass pedigrees suited to firm footing, monitoring for potential late scratches if it plays tighter than expected.
