Woodbine's Tapeta main track (D) typically plays fair to mildly favorable to stalkers and pace-pressers, especially when the surface is dry and temperatures are moderate, with horses sitting just off the leaders often finishing strongest. Inside-to-middle posts generally hold a slight edge in larger fields, while deep closers usually need a genuinely strong early pace to become competitive on this synthetic surface.

On the turf course (T), historical patterns point to a tactical-speed bias, with forwardly placed runners and those securing good early position along the inner lanes holding an advantage, particularly at sprint and middle distances. Wide, deep-closing trips tend to be at a disadvantage unless early fractions are unusually hot, making ground-saving, economical trips especially valuable on the turf.
