Race Day Overview — Remington Park, April 12, 2026

Remington Park kicks off its spring quarter horse racing meet with a loaded Sunday card featuring ten races across a range of distances and conditions. The card is headlined by a pair of $35,000 allowance sprints at 110 yards and a stout 250-yard allowance at the same purse level. The undercard is bookended by maiden special weight events at 220 yards, giving horseplayers a full menu of quarter horse action from the 5:00 PM first post through a scheduled finale just before 10:00 PM local time.

The meet is drawing competitive fields across all conditions, with several recognizable barns represented throughout the card. Trainer Jesus Ruben Ruiz has runners in multiple races, as does Samuel E. Valdivia and the Olmstead operation. Stacy Charette-Hill and Matt E. Whitekiller both have multiple entrants on the card and figure prominently in the early races. On the jockey side, Christian Esqueda, Roman Cruz, Gonzalo Gutierrez, and Juan Pulido are among the most active riders today and will be watched closely for performance trends throughout the afternoon and evening.

No official scratches have been posted at time of publication. Bettors are advised to confirm final field sizes at the windows before wagering, particularly in the maiden events where late changes are common.

The allowance conditions in Races 1, 4, 7, and 8 carry the BUN designation, indicating horses that have not won a race of specified conditions, which opens these fields to lightly raced but potentially talented horses. The maiden special weight fields in Races 2, 3, 5, and 6 are split across AON, AOC, AOF, and AON designations respectively, denoting age and sex conditions typical for early-season quarter horse maiden fields at this level.

Weather and Track Conditions — April 12, 2026

Oklahoma City is experiencing mild spring conditions heading into the weekend. Forecast models for Sunday, April 12, indicate partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s Fahrenheit at post time. Wind is expected from the south-southeast at 10 to 15 miles per hour, which can have a modest effect on times in the shorter dashes. No meaningful precipitation is forecast for the day or evening, which suggests the main track will be maintained in fast condition.

The Remington Park main dirt track has been rated fast throughout the recent meet. Track maintenance crews have kept the surface consistent, and without rain in the forecast, conditions should remain uniform from the first race through the finale. A fast track at Remington typically rewards early speed, and the compact sprint distances on today's card make gate and early acceleration particularly critical.

Bettors should monitor the tote board and any official track updates near post time for Races 1 and 2, as evening temperatures dropping through the card could firm up the track surface further as the night progresses.

Track Bias and Post Position Analysis

Remington Park's main track at sprint distances, particularly at 110 yards, 220 yards, and 250 yards, leans toward speed on a fast surface. Horses that break sharply and establish early position have a clear advantage at these distances, where there is simply no room for a sustained rally. The gate is the race at 110 yards.

At 110 yards, inside post positions carry some advantage because the shorter distance leaves no time to make up ground, and a clean, direct path to the wire is paramount. However, gate speed is the overriding factor, and a horse with superior break from the middle of the gate can overcome a slightly wider draw.

At 220 yards and 250 yards, the bias shifts slightly. Posts 3 through 7 tend to perform well at Remington at these distances on a fast track. The extreme outside posts, particularly 9 and 10 in a full field, can face a minor disadvantage from the added ground they must travel around any slight curvature in the approach to the wire. Inside posts carry a small risk if a horse breaks poorly and finds traffic. The middle of the gate remains the sweet spot on fast surfaces.

For today's card, horses breaking from posts 4 through 7 in the 220-yard and 250-yard events deserve a slight edge on surface bias alone, all else being equal. In the 110-yard dashes, clean breaks from any post can be decisive, but posts 1 through 5 have a marginal edge based on historical Remington Park data at that distance.

RACE 1 — Post 5:00 — 110f | D | A | Alw 16000nc | BUN | Purse $16,000

This opening race at 110 yards is a pure gate-to-wire sprint in allowance company for non-winners of a specified condition. At this distance, the race is decided in fractions of a second, and the ability to explode from the starting gate cleanly is the single most important factor. Ten horses are entered in what figures to be a highly competitive opener.

Pace Analysis

With ten horses entered at 110 yards, the pace scenario is essentially irrelevant in the traditional sense — every horse is running at full speed from the moment the gates open. The “pace” here comes down entirely to gate speed and acceleration through the first few strides. Horses that have demonstrated consistent sub-2.0 reaction times at the gate will have a material advantage. The narrow track and straight-line sprint mean there is no stalking position and no late kick. The fastest away from the gate wins the majority of these races.

Key Contenders

Captain Fancy (POST 2) opens as the morning line favorite at 2-1 and earns that designation based on class and experience. Trained by Leonardo Alcala, who is a consistent performer in Oklahoma quarter horse circuits, Captain Fancy has the look of a horse that has been pointed to this spot. Alcala runners tend to arrive ready to run when entered in allowance company, and the 2-1 morning line suggests the morning line maker has a healthy respect for this horse's recent works and past performance profile. Jockey Juan Pulido is a competent hand aboard and knows how to ride the short distances at Remington.

Ima Chili (POST 5) at 4-1 is the second choice on the morning line and figures to be competitive. Trained by Zackery N. Rios, this horse is positioned in the center of the gate, which is advantageous at 110 yards. Jockey Nestor Duran has been a solid presence at Remington Park and is capable of getting maximum effort out of short-distance horses. The 4-1 price represents fair value if this horse shows the gate speed expected of a second choice in allowance company.

Secondary Choices

Turnpike Jammer (POST 4) at 5-1, trained by Stacy Charette-Hill, deserves respect. Charette-Hill is one of the more accomplished trainers at this meet, and her horses tend to be well-prepared and consistently competitive. The 5-1 morning line suggests this horse has the credentials to compete at this level but may be slightly outgunned by the top two. Post 4 is solid at 110 yards.

Over The Shock (POST 8) at 6-1, trained by Matt E. Whitekiller, is another horse that warrants consideration. Whitekiller is running two horses in this race, with Over The Shock (POST 8) and Icy Turnpike (POST 10) both in his barn. Typically, when a trainer runs two horses in the same race, one horse has a clear role as the primary runner. Based on the morning line, Over the Shock at 6-1 appears to be the more likely of the two to be pointed for a top effort. Randy Vega gets the mount.

Flyin On The Turnpike (POST 6) at 8-1 is trained by Jesus Ruben Ruiz, who also saddles Kung Fu Express (POST 7) in this race. The dual-entry angle applies here as well. Flyin on the Turnpike at 8-1 appears to be the stronger of the two Ruiz runners based on the morning line comparison, with Ruben Castro aboard.

Longshots

Kung Fu Express (POST 7) at 10-1 is the second Ruiz runner and could outrun the morning line if the connections have found something in the mornings. Roman Cruz is a capable pilot in these short sprints.

Icy Turnpike (POST 10) at 10-1 is the second Whitekiller runner and draws the outside post at 110 yards, which is the least desirable position in the field. Cody Rodger Smith gets the assignment, but the outside post at this distance is a significant obstacle.

Nota Pocahontas (POST 1) at 15-1 and Am Dashing Livewire (POST 3) at 15-1 are both longshots at extreme prices. At 110 yards with the top horses showing superior gate credentials, these runners would need a significant equipment failure from the favorites to factor. River Flower (POST 9) at 20-1 faces the same uphill battle and is best used as a throwout for handicapping purposes unless the price becomes irresistible in exotic wagering.

Betting Strategy

This race sets up as a win bet on Captain Fancy (POST 2) with a saver on Ima Chili (POST 5). In exotics, a key-and-wheel approach using Captain Fancy (POST 2) on top in the exacta with Ima Chili (POST 5), Turnpike Jammer (POST 4), and Over The Shock (POST 8) makes sense. The dual trainer entries from Ruiz and Whitekiller bear monitoring if one entry is scratched, which could consolidate support.

Selections

Win: Captain Fancy (POST 2) Place: Ima Chili (POST 5) Show: Turnpike Jammer (POST 4)

RACE 2 — Post 5:45 — 220f | D | S | Md Sp Wt | AON | Purse $15,000

The second race stretches to 220 yards and drops in purse value to $15,000 for this maiden special weight event. The AON designation indicates an all-age, open to non-winners. Ten horses are entered in what is a wide-open maiden field. The reduced purse compared to Race 3 suggests a lower tier of maiden competition.

Pace Analysis

At 220 yards, early speed is still paramount but horses with better sustained acceleration through the second half of the race can make up ground on horses that break slightly slower. The pace will be fast from the outset with no horse willing to concede the lead in a maiden sprint. Fields of maidens at 220 yards at Remington are often won by horses breaking from the preferred middle posts with clean gates. Handicappers should look for any horse with a prior works pattern showing bullet-style times in gate training.

Key Contenders

Peace Out Homies (POST 3) opens as the morning line favorite at 3-1 and draws an excellent post position. Trained by Kasey Willis, this horse is partnered with Gonzalo Gutierrez, who is one of the more active jockeys on today's card. The 3-1 morning line in an open maiden field suggests Peace Out Homies has shown enough in the mornings to be considered the class of this field. Post 3 is a prime gate draw for 220-yard maiden racing at Remington.

Smith And Weapon (POST 4) at 4-1 and Hold On Tight (POST 5) at 4-1 are co-second choices on the morning line. Smith And Weapon (POST 4) is trained by Stacey Capps with Francisco Raul Ramirez Jr. aboard, while Hold On Tight (POST 5) is trained by Dee Keener with Roman Cruz. Both draw excellent middle posts. Hold On Tight (POST 5) in particular, with Cruz aboard coming off what should be a busy afternoon, benefits from a jockey who excels in these maiden sprints.

Secondary Choices

Ellie Grace (POST 6) at 5-1 is trained by Jason L. Olmstead with Ryder Olmstead in the irons, representing the family operation. The Olmstead barn is active on today's card, and their runners tend to be well-prepared. The family connection between trainer and jockey in a maiden race is a noteworthy angle.

Dallas North Tollway (POST 8) at 8-1, trained by Matt E. Whitekiller and ridden by Cody Rodger Smith, offers some appeal at the price. Whitekiller is adept at developing young sprint horses in this maiden condition.

Longshots

Wired Tothe Limit (POST 9) at 10-1 is trained by Ray A. Enlow with Erik N. Esqueda in the irons. The outside draw at 220 yards is less problematic than at 110 yards, and the 10-1 price could be fair if this horse has shown promise in workouts.

Livewire Igniter (POST 10) at 12-1 is the lone Ruiz runner in this race with James A. Flores up. The outside post at 220 yards in a maiden race is workable, but this runner needs everything to go right to factor at this price.

Three Wired Sister (POST 7) at 15-1, trained by Rodrigo Covarrubias with Aram S. Martinez up, is a longer shot that needs significant improvement to be competitive.

Jh River Rat (POST 1) at 20-1 and Awesomely Quick (POST 2) at 20-1 are the longest shots on the board. In maiden sprints, the inside posts at 220 yards can be problematic if horses break outward, and the 20-1 prices suggest these runners have not shown enough in morning preparation to be serious threats. Both can be used loosely in larger exotic tickets for value.

Betting Strategy

The trio of Peace Out Homies (POST 3), Smith And Weapon (POST 4), and Hold On Tight (POST 5) forms the logical backbone of exotic wagering here. A trifecta box of these three makes sense as a primary bet. Using Ellie Grace (POST 6) as a fourth in a trifecta wheel underneath the top two adds depth. The wide-open nature of maiden fields at this price level suggests keeping exotic tickets manageable but using multiple combinations.

Selections

Win: Peace Out Homies (POST 3) Place: Hold On Tight (POST 5) Show: Smith And Weapon (POST 4)

RACE 3 — Post 6:30 — 220f | D | S | Md Sp Wt | AOC | Purse $28,000

Race 3 is a significantly upgraded maiden event at the same 220-yard distance, nearly doubling the purse to $28,000. The AOC condition indicates this is limited to a specific age or sex classification. The elevated purse suggests a higher caliber of horse, likely including some well-bred animals making their debut or horses that have shown considerable promise without breaking through.

Pace Analysis

Same basic principles apply as Race 2 — early speed is critical at 220 yards. The higher purse here likely means sharper horses with better gate reaction times, which should produce a faster overall race from gate to wire. Middle posts again carry the advantage, and handicappers should focus on horses that have been working with consistent times in the gate.

Key Contenders

Rj Black Beauty (POST 10) is the morning line favorite at 2-1 despite drawing the outside post. When a horse is installed as a heavy morning line favorite from the 10 post in a 220-yard maiden, it signals that the connections and morning line maker have seen something extremely impressive in the mornings. Trained by Josue Jacob Garcia with Juan Pulido aboard, Rj Black Beauty (POST 10) has the look of a horse that could be something special. Pulido is a capable rider in these situations. The 2-1 price from the outside post means this horse will need to break cleanly and straight to avoid being bumped off stride, but the talent appears to be significant.

Coco B Train (POST 7) at 4-1, trained by James Julian Gonzales II with Christian Cardenas up, is the second choice from an excellent post position. The 4-1 morning line from post 7 in a full field of 220-yard maidens suggests this horse has earned its place near the top of the morning line through strong workouts or a creditable debut. Cardenas is an experienced hand in these conditions.

Secondary Choices

Relentless Rain (POST 4) at 5-1 is trained by Kash Reed with Edwin G. Escobedo aboard. Reed is a trainer who pays careful attention to race placement, and the 5-1 morning line from post 4 suggests a well-prepared runner with a favorable post draw. This horse could easily outrun the morning line odds if the gate break is clean.

Down To Chill (POST 1) at 6-1, trained by Jorge Gonzalez with Jaime Mata up, is interesting from the inside post at 6-1. Inside posts in 220-yard races are workable, particularly if the horse breaks straight and fast.

Cowboy Thunder (POST 3) at 8-1 is trained by Stacy Charette-Hill, who brings her usual level of preparation. Christian Esqueda has the mount, giving this horse an experienced pilot who rides these conditions well.

Longshots

Bodacious Fast Prize (POST 2) at 12-1, trained by Samuel E. Valdivia with James A. Flores up, is one of two Valdivia runners in this race. Valdivia also runs Another Rownd (POST 8) at 10-1. The dual entry suggests Valdivia has confidence in the field, though handicappers should note which runner the connections favor based on jockey booking. Flores aboard Bodacious Fast Prize (POST 2) and Jose Vega aboard Another Rownd (POST 8) suggests no clear hierarchy between the two.

Raton Ovi (POST 6) at 10-1, trained by Erik N. Rodriguez-Garcia with Osvaldo Quinonez-Lopez up, is a mid-price longshot that could outrun the morning line from a favorable post.

Ferry Handsome Man (POST 5) at 15-1, trained by Juliana Mancillas with Randy Vega up, is a price play that needs a significant edge in gate speed to factor.

Kates Jess Perry (POST 9) at 20-1 is the longest shot in the field and trained by Jose Hernandez-Martinez. This runner would need a complete surprise performance to appear on the board.

Betting Strategy

Rj Black Beauty (POST 10) is the class play here despite the outside draw. Key this horse on top in win and exacta wagering. A primary exacta of Rj Black Beauty (POST 10) over Coco B Train (POST 7) is the play, with a secondary exacta of Rj Black Beauty (POST 10) over Relentless Rain (POST 4). The 2-1 price makes straight win wagering reasonable value given the talent assessment.

Selections

Win: Rj Black Beauty (POST 10) Place: Coco B Train (POST 7) Show: Relentless Rain (POST 4)

RACE 4 — Post 7:15 — 110f | D | A | Alw 35000b | BUN | Purse $35,000

The first stakes-level allowance of the card comes in Race 4, a $35,000 sprint at 110 yards for non-winners under allowance conditions. This is a significant step up from the opener in terms of purse and expected quality. Seven horses are entered, which is a manageable field for handicapping purposes.

Pace Analysis

At 110 yards with $35,000 on the line, every horse will be asked for maximum effort from the gate. The smaller field of seven means slightly cleaner breaks are expected with less lateral traffic, but the competition is sharper. The gate draw becomes even more important in higher-quality 110-yard races because the margins between elite sprinters are minimal and clean breaks without interference are essential.

Key Contenders

Corona Relentless (POST 5) and Ima Fancy Eye Opener (POST 6) are co-favorites at 2-1, which creates an interesting handicapping puzzle. Corona Relentless (POST 5) is trained by Marla Dayana Vargas, who is active throughout today's card, and Roman Cruz has the call. Ima Fancy Eye Opener (POST 6) is from the barn of Samuel E. Valdivia with Bryan Candanosa up. The co-favorite situation in a 110-yard sprint typically means the morning line maker sees nearly equal ability between these two animals.

Corona Relentless (POST 5) from the middle of the gate with Cruz aboard in a high-purse 110-yard race is a compelling profile. Cruz is among the more active and effective jockeys on today's card.

Ima Fancy Eye Opener (POST 6) draws the post immediately outside the co-favorite, meaning the two top horses are side by side in the starting gate. In a 110-yard race, this proximity means that if one horse breaks sharply into the other, both could be compromised. Candanosa is an experienced hand in this spot.

Secondary Choices

Shaundas Quick Dash (POST 3) at 4-1, trained by Hernesto Ramirez with Juan Arellano up, is an interesting play in this field. The 4-1 morning line from post 3 in a field of seven suggests this horse has demonstrated the gate speed necessary to compete at the allowance level. Ramirez is a trainer who conditions effective short-distance horses, and Arellano has the gate experience needed here.

Rcj Fire (POST 4) at 6-1, trained by Jerry W. Sewell II with Gonzalo Gutierrez up, draws an excellent post between the 4-1 and 2-1 horses. Sewell is a competent trainer in this class range, and Gutierrez is riding well throughout today's card.

Longshots

Oceans 13 (POST 7) at 5-1 from the Jesus Ruben Ruiz barn with Edwin G. Escobedo up rounds out the field from the outside post. In a seven-horse field at 110 yards, the outside post is less of a disadvantage than in a full field, but it is still not ideal. The 5-1 price suggests this horse has ability, and Ruiz does not enter runners without purpose.

Kvn Is Coming (POST 2) at 10-1 is trained by Luz Chavira with Cordarelton J. Benn aboard. The 10-1 morning line in a seven-horse field suggests this runner is outgunned by the top choices but could benefit if the favorites encounter trouble.

Kvn Rey (POST 1) at 15-1 is trained by Everardo N. Escamilla-Gonzalez with Antonio Perez up. Inside post in a short field at 110 yards is workable, but the 15-1 price reflects the significant gap between this runner and the top of the field.

Betting Strategy

This race sets up as a singles race in multi-race wagers if one of the co-favorites can be isolated. The small field creates an opportunity to play the exacta box of the two co-favorites, Corona Relentless (POST 5) and Ima Fancy Eye Opener (POST 6), with a reverse exacta using Shaundas Quick Dash (POST 3) over each of the top two. Oceans 13 (POST 7) at 5-1 from the Ruiz barn could be worth a small win bet as a value play.

Selections

Win: Corona Relentless (POST 5) Place: Ima Fancy Eye Opener (POST 6) Show: Shaundas Quick Dash (POST 3)

RACE 5 — Post 8:00 — 220f | D | S | Md Sp Wt | AOF | Purse $28,000

Race 5 is a maiden special weight for fillies, based on the AOF designation, at 220 yards with a solid $28,000 purse. Ten horses are entered in this all-female maiden field. Filly maiden races at sprint distances often produce surprising results, and the field here includes several horses with intriguing connections.

Pace Analysis

In a ten-horse filly maiden at 220 yards, pace is determined by which runner breaks the sharpest and sets the tempo. Filly maiden races at this distance at Remington tend to be won by horses that break cleanly from middle posts and sustain their acceleration through the wire. The pace will be hot throughout the field, with no horse willing to spot the leader any kind of advantage.

Key Contenders

Wanna Ferarri (POST 8) is the morning line favorite at 2-1, trained by Jed H. Vane with Juan Pulido aboard. A 2-1 morning line in a ten-horse filly maiden field is a significant statement about this horse's perceived ability. Pulido rides this horse with clear preferential booking from the connections. Post 8 in a 220-yard race is slightly to the outside of the ideal middle posts but is entirely workable if the gate break is clean.

Aj Apollitical Doll (POST 4) at 4-1, trained by James Julian Gonzales II with Christian Cardenas up, and Docs Best Rose (POST 6) at 4-1, trained by Jason L. Olmstead with Ramiro Haro Garcia up, are the co-second choices. Both draw excellent posts in the preferred middle section of the gate. The Olmstead connection is notable, as Docs Best Rose (POST 6) appears to be a serious runner that the barn has prepared carefully.

Secondary Choices

Ruby Blue (POST 10) at 6-1 is trained by Marla Dayana Vargas, who has an active day at Remington, with Gonzalo Gutierrez up. The outside post at 220 yards in a ten-horse filly field is a disadvantage, but if the talent is superior, it can be overcome. Vargas has shown the ability to place horses effectively throughout this card.

Jc Stormingonamonday (POST 1) at 8-1, trained by Josh Taylor with Brayan Juarez up, draws the inside post at 8-1 in a filly maiden. Inside post at 220 yards can be problematic but is not a dealbreaker at this distance.

Longshots

One Sweet Hero (POST 2) at 10-1, trained by Jalen Delenzy Pugh with Francisco Calderon up, is a mid-price longshot from post 2. Calderon gets this mount at a fair price that could represent value if workout reports are encouraging.

Easy Monee (POST 5) at 12-1, trained by Luz Chavira with Cordarelton J. Benn aboard, and Janeths Pyc (POST 3) at 12-1, trained by Raul Rodriguez with David Alvarez Jr. up, are both in double-digit territory on the morning line. Both horses would need significant improvement or a collapse from the favorites to hit the board.

Frosted By Her Man (POST 7) at 15-1, trained by Juliana Mancillas with Randy Vega up, is a longer shot from a workable post. Mancillas runs Frosted By Her Man (POST 7) as a value play but the 15-1 morning line is appropriate given the competition.

Reds Wagon (POST 9) at 20-1, trained by Tyler Cole Crawford with Mario Delgado up, is the longest price in the field. At 20-1 in a ten-horse maiden, this runner is best used sparingly in bottom positions of trifecta tickets only.

Betting Strategy

Wanna Ferarri (POST 8) is the play at 2-1 on the win. The primary exacta is Wanna Ferarri (POST 8) over Aj Apollitical Doll (POST 4) and Docs Best Rose (POST 6). The trifecta key using Wanna Ferarri (POST 8) on top with Aj Apollitical Doll (POST 4) and Docs Best Rose (POST 6) in the second spot and Ruby Blue (POST 10) and Jc Stormingonamonday (POST 1) rounding out is the suggested structure.

Selections

Win: Wanna Ferarri (POST 8) Place: Aj Apollitical Doll (POST 4) Show: Docs Best Rose (POST 6)

RACE 6 — Post 8:28 — 220f | D | S | Md Sp Wt | AON | Purse $22,500

Race 6 is a maiden special weight at 220 yards, open conditions, with a $22,500 purse. This sits between the lower-tier maiden in Race 2 and the higher-level $28,000 maiden events. Ten horses are entered with Rizzler (POST 7) opening as a heavy morning line favorite.

Pace Analysis

Open maiden races at 220 yards with a mixed field of ten horses will generate early pressure throughout the gate. Post position bias favors the middle to slightly outside of center, and the 7 post for the morning line favorite is excellent in this context. Pace at 220 yards will be fast throughout with no room for horses to recover from poor breaks.

Key Contenders

Rizzler (POST 7) opens as the heavy 2-1 morning line favorite from an excellent post position. Trained by James Julian Gonzales II and ridden by Jesus Olivas, Rizzler (POST 7) has clearly shown something impressive in preparation that has earned this strong morning line position. The Gonzales barn has a second horse in this card in Race 5 and appears to be in sharp form today. Post 7 in a ten-horse 220-yard maiden is about as good as it gets for gate position.

Sp Cyber City (POST 2) at 5-1, trained by Joe M. Davis with Edwin G. Escobedo up, is the second choice at 5-1. Escobedo is having an active day and is a capable jockey in these maiden sprint conditions. Post 2 is slightly inside of ideal but workable.

Secondary Choices

Reds A Blaze (POST 3) at 4-1, trained by Jesus Ruben Ruiz with Roman Cruz up, is the third choice on the board at 4-1. Ruiz has horses throughout today's card and Cruz is a key rider for the barn. The 4-1 price from post 3 makes this an interesting alternative to the morning line favorite, particularly if the gate break is clean.

Aquafina Aj (POST 9) at 6-1, trained by Fernando Ivan Manriquez with James A. Flores up, is the best-priced secondary runner in this field. Post 9 at 220 yards is outside of the ideal range but the 6-1 morning line suggests underlying ability that could produce a top-three finish.

Revenantt Eagle (POST 4) at 8-1, trained by Marco Adair Chavez-Gutierrez with Jonathan Dominguez up, draws a solid post at 4 and is given a reasonable 8-1 morning line. This horse could be underestimated if the trainer has found a particularly effective preparation for this horse.

Longshots

Perfy (POST 10) at 12-1, trained by Hernesto Ramirez with Mario Delgado up, is from the outside post in a ten-horse field at 12-1. At 220 yards, the outside post adds ground and requires a perfect break to factor, but the Ramirez barn is capable of developing sprint horses.

Jess Sea Me Dash (POST 8) at 15-1, trained by Kash Reed with Francisco Calderon up, is a price play from post 8. Reed is an active trainer throughout today's card but this runner appears to be an also-eligible type.

El Moustro (POST 1) at 10-1, trained by Rodrigo Covarrubias with Gonzalo Gutierrez up, draws the inside post at a 10-1 price that seems fair given the post position disadvantage. Gutierrez is everywhere on today's card and is riding effectively.

Hill County Cowgirl (POST 5) at 20-1, trained by Josh Taylor with Juan Pulido up, and Send 123 (POST 6) at 20-1, trained by Jerry W. Sewell II with Cordarelton J. Benn up, are the longest prices in the field. At 20-1 in an open maiden event, both represent lottery ticket status only and should be used only in the bottom legs of larger exotic tickets.

Betting Strategy

Rizzler (POST 7) from the ideal post is the clear single in this race. The 2-1 morning line in a ten-horse maiden field from post 7 is a strong play. Exacta: Rizzler (POST 7) over Reds A Blaze (POST 3) and Sp Cyber City (POST 2) as the primary combinations. Trifecta: Rizzler (POST 7) on top, Reds A Blaze (POST 3) and Sp Cyber City (POST 2) in second, Aquafina Aj (POST 9) and Revenantt Eagle (POST 4) in third.
