Race Day Overview — Remington Park, April 19, 2026

Remington Park opens its Sunday card with ten races, all contested on the dirt, spanning distances from 250 yards to 400 yards. The card is dominated by Quarter Horse and mixed breed sprint racing, with a blend of maiden special weight events, claiming races, and the evening's feature — a $24,000 allowance for non-winners of two lifetime at 400 yards. The condition book reflects the typical Remington spring mix: maiden special weight races for Oklahoma-breds and open company sprinters, claiming events at the $10,000, $20,000, and $30,000 levels, and an allowance finale to close the night.

Stacy Charette-Hill is among the most prominent trainers on the grounds and fields multiple runners across the card. Dee Keener, Clinton Crawford, Michelle Hurdle, Justin Joiner, and Matt Whitekiller also have multiple entries, signaling a competitive evening among the local training colony. The jockey colony is deep for a Sunday card, with Francisco Calderon, Cody Rodger Smith, Roman Cruz, Juan Pulido, Erik N. Esqueda, and Cordarelton J. Benn all riding multiple mounts.

There are no reported scratches as of publication time. Bettors should check Equibase and the track's official program for any late changes before wagering.

Weather and Track Conditions — April 19, 2026

Oklahoma City's forecast for Sunday evening calls for mild spring temperatures in the mid-to-upper 60s Fahrenheit at post time, dropping into the low 60s by the finale. Skies are expected to be partly cloudy with a slight chance of late-evening showers, though the main card is projected to run under dry conditions. Wind out of the south-southwest at 10–15 mph is typical for the region and should not significantly affect the extremely short sprints on the card.

The Remington Park main track is an all-weather dirt surface and has been rated as fast through the recent meet. There are no reports of maintenance issues or unusual surface irregularities heading into this card. Given the dry conditions projected through the early races, expect the track to maintain a fast rating for the duration of the card. Any late moisture could affect the closing races, so bettors should monitor the track condition board as the evening progresses.

Track Bias and Post Position Analysis

Remington Park's dirt sprint chute is a straightaway course typical of Quarter Horse racing. At distances of 250 to 400 yards, post position bias is real and relevant. Historically at Remington, inside posts (1 through 3) have a slight edge at the shortest distances (250 and 300 yards) because horses break and travel in a direct line without any curved path. At 350 and 400 yards, the middle posts (3 through 6) have shown the strongest overall win percentages during the spring meet, combining clean breaks with minimal traffic issues.

Outside posts (8 through 10) tend to be disadvantageous primarily because gate crew attention during loading can lead to slightly slower breaks, and those horses must overcome more lateral ground loss. At 250 yards, the race is so short that a poor break is almost always fatal to winning chances. At 400 yards, there is marginally more time to recover, but the elite sprinters in the gate do not often give that opportunity.

For tonight's card, pay particular attention to middle posts in the maiden special weight races at 330 yards (Races 3 and 4) and the 400-yard maiden event (Race 6). In the claiming races, class tends to override post position, but a clean break from any post remains the single most important factor in these short-format events.

RACE 1 — Post 5:00 — 350 Yards | Dirt | Claiming $30,000 n2l | Mixed | Purse $12,000

Pace Analysis

At 350 yards, this is a pure explosion race with minimal pace scenario variation — every horse in the gate will be asked for maximum effort from the break. The key pace factor is the quality of the individual break and early acceleration through the first 100 yards. At $30,000 claiming level for non-winners of two lifetime, this is a competitive group that includes some horses with useful speed figures from prior efforts. Expect a wall-to-wall sprint with the winner likely determined by the first 50 yards of running.

Key Contenders

Painted Fury (POST 9), trained by Michelle Hurdle, draws attention from handicappers as a legitimate contender at 4-1 morning line odds. Hurdle has been consistent at placing horses in the right spot, and Painted Fury (POST 9) projects as a horse with quick early speed and enough talent to compete at this claiming level. The outside post at 350 yards is a mild concern, but Hurdle horses at Remington tend to break cleanly.

Pt Glitz (POST 4) for trainer Matt Whitekiller and jockey Cody Rodger Smith represents the other co-favorite at 4-1. The middle post (Post 4) is ideal at 350 yards, and Whitekiller knows this track as well as any conditioner on the grounds. Smith is one of the more reliable riders in the colony for short-format sprints. Pt Glitz (POST 4) shapes as the primary pace rival and a horse capable of winning outright.

Secret Turnpike (POST 7), also trained by Dee Keener and ridden by James A. Flores, checks in at 4-1. Keener fields two horses in this race, which can complicate wagering strategy. Showin You Some Kvn (POST 6) at 5-1 is Keener's other entry, ridden by Roman Cruz. Between the two, Secret Turnpike (POST 7) holds a slight edge based on post position and the 4-1 price. Flores is a capable hand and can be competitive from the seven-hole.

Secondary Choices

Jh Blood Sweatandtear (POST 2) at 6-1 is trained by Stacy Charette-Hill, who also saddles WIRED FOR SUCCESS (POST 1). Charette-Hill is one of the top trainers at the meet, and her barn's form demands respect even at longer odds. Between the two stable entries, Jh Blood Sweatandtear (POST 2) from the two-hole has a positional edge. At 6-1, this horse represents mild overlay value if the favorites underperform.

Showin You Some Kvn (POST 6) at 5-1 rounds out the competitive midfield. From the six-hole at 350 yards, Cruz will need a sharp break to get position, but this is a capable horse in a barn that knows its horses.

Longshots

WIRED FOR SUCCESS (POST 1) at 8-1 has the rail, which is not necessarily ideal at 350 yards with ten horses. Charette-Hill is a quality trainer, but the 1-hole makes clean racing difficult in a full field. IMA FANCY CHICKEN (POST 3) at 10-1 for trainer Eric Snodgrass and jockey David Alvarez Jr. is a horse to use underneath in exotics if the price holds. Taki (POST 5) at 15-1 for Felesha Gold does not project as a major factor. Criminal Streak (POST 8) at 20-1 for Whitekiller is the barn's second string and is not expected to challenge. Upshot (POST 10) at 15-1 from the far outside in a ten-horse field at 350 yards faces the toughest post assignment on the board and is a throw-out for win purposes.

Selections

Win: Pt Glitz (POST 4) Place: Secret Turnpike (POST 7) Show: Painted Fury (POST 9)

Betting Strategy

The 4-1 co-favorites make this a tough single-race play. Consider a small exacta box covering Pt Glitz (POST 4), Secret Turnpike (POST 7), and Painted Fury (POST 9). Use Jh Blood Sweatandtear (POST 2) as a saver underneath in the exacta at 6-1. Avoid Upshot (POST 10) and Criminal Streak (POST 8) in all structures.

RACE 2 — Post 5:27 — 250 Yards | Dirt | Maiden $20,000 | Mixed | Purse $16,000

Pace Analysis

At 250 yards, this is the shortest race on the card and the closest thing to a pure explosion test that exists in racing. There is no pace scenario — the winner breaks well, accelerates through the beam, and the race is over. Post position and gate behavior are the dominant factors. Look for horses that have shown strong break tendencies or come from trainers with a history of quick-breaking runners.

Key Contenders

Idgie (POST 7) at 2-1 is the morning line favorite trained by Michelle Hurdle and ridden by Mario Delgado. Hurdle is having a productive meet, and Idgie (POST 7) commands the top price in this maiden field. The seven-hole at 250 yards is not ideal, but Hurdle's horses tend to compensate with gate sharpness. Delgado is a competent rider who will need to deliver a quick break to overcome the wide post.

This B Fast (POST 10) at 4-1 for trainer Fernando Ivan Manriquez and jockey Mauro Jesus Rodriguez checks in as the second choice. The name is apt for the distance, and the four-hole odds suggest some support in the morning line. However, the ten-post at 250 yards is a real obstacle. Any lateral drift to the inside from the outside posts at this distance costs fractions that are simply unrecoverable.

Mystic Jessi (POST 5) at 5-1 for trainer Eric Joel Hernandez Luna and jockey Osvaldo Quinonez-Lopez has a favorable post from the center of the gate. At 250 yards, Posts 4 through 6 offer the cleanest trip, and Mystic Jessi (POST 5) is positioned well to take advantage. This is a horse to watch closely.

Secondary Choices

Cartel Blues Corona (POST 1) at 6-1 for trainer Stacey Capps and Cody Rodger Smith draws the rail. At 250 yards, the inside post is workable, and Smith is one of the better gate riders in the colony. If Cartel Blues Corona (POST 1) has any ability, the one-hole and a quality jockey give it a fighting chance at a usable price.

Vaquero 123 (POST 9) at 8-1 and Fdd Relentless (POST 2) at 8-1 are both worth marginal consideration in exotics. Fdd Relentless (POST 2) for Jose A. Palma Jr. with Jonathan Dominguez has the beneficial two-hole and is dangerous underneath at 8-1.

Longshots

Hot Secretito (POST 3) at 20-1 for Gerardo Arroyo is a big longshot that could only be used in deep exotics for coverage. C O P Keating (POST 4) at 20-1 from the four-hole is another longshot that has a decent post but unproven ability at this level. El Paisano (POST 6) at 10-1 for Rodrigo Covarrubias and Randy Vega is a middle-of-the-gate horse at a usable price. Sheza Easy Cash Girl (POST 8) at 12-1 faces a tough outside post for a maiden at 250 yards. This B Fast (POST 10) from the ten-hole is given secondary mention again to emphasize the post concern despite the favorable odds.

Selections

Win: Idgie (POST 7) Place: Mystic Jessi (POST 5) Show: Cartel Blues Corona (POST 1)

Betting Strategy

At 250 yards, back the morning line favorite with confidence when the trainer is Hurdle and the horse has been bet to 2-1. Wheel Idgie (POST 7) on top in exactas using Mystic Jessi (POST 5), Cartel Blues Corona (POST 1), and Fdd Relentless (POST 2) underneath. Avoid the double-digit outside posts in win exotics at this ultra-short distance.

RACE 3 — Post 5:54 — 330 Yards | Dirt | Maiden Special Weight | Open | Purse $22,500

Pace Analysis

At 330 yards in a maiden special weight for open company, the talent range can be significant. With ten horses, the gate break remains paramount, but at 330 yards there is slightly more opportunity for a horse with a late surge to overcome a minor gate disadvantage. This is one of the higher-quality maiden events on the card at $22,500, and the morning line reflects a competitive race without a dominant standout.

Key Contenders

A Flyingdynamite 123 (POST 3) at 3-1 for trainer Justin W. Joiner and Francisco Calderon is the morning line favorite. Joiner is a respected trainer at Remington with strong numbers in maiden special weight events, and Calderon is among the more accomplished riders on the card. The three-hole is a prime starting position at 330 yards, combining a clean break lane with minimal outside traffic. This is the horse to beat.

Did I Win (POST 4) at 4-1 for trainer James J. Gonzales III and Christian Cardenas slots into the four-hole right alongside the favorite. A Flyingdynamite 123 (POST 3) and Did I Win (POST 4) will likely have a battle for early positioning over the first 50 yards. Billys Night Moves (POST 10) at 4-1 for Josh Taylor and Juan Pulido is an interesting co-equal at 4-1 in the morning line from the far outside, which is unusual for a horse getting heavy support. Pulido is a capable jockey, and Taylor occasionally spots his horses well. The ten-hole is a real concern, however.

Secondary Choices

Sydney 400 (POST 9) at 6-1 for Clinton Crawford and Jorge Torres is a secondary choice that has been mentioned among handicappers as a sleeper in this field. Crawford is one of the more active trainers at the meet, and Torres has been reliable for the barn. The nine-hole is slightly better than ten but still outside.

Smokkin Hott (POST 8) at 8-1 for trainer Luis Villafranco and jockey Jesus Rios Ayala is worth including in multirace structures at this price. The eight-hole is a concern, but Villafranco occasionally surprises in maiden fields.

Longshots

Besame El Polvo (POST 1) at 10-1 for Jose Gamez and James A. Flores has the rail. At 330 yards, the one-hole carries more risk than at longer distances. Kiss Is On My List (POST 2) at 12-1 for Edward Ross Hardy has the two-hole, which is acceptable, and is worth a token inclusion in large exotic tickets. Cyber Affair (POST 5) at 15-1 and Sweet Lorali (POST 6) at 15-1, both trained by Mallory Norton, are the barn's pair of longshots. Trainer double entries at big prices suggest neither is a primary stable hope. Rokket Scientist (POST 7) at 15-1 for Marla Dayana Vargas rounds out the field as a throw-out for most wagering purposes.

Selections

Win: A Flyingdynamite 123 (POST 3) Place: Did I Win (POST 4) Show: Sydney 400 (POST 9)

Betting Strategy

Play an exacta with A Flyingdynamite 123 (POST 3) on top and Did I Win (POST 4) underneath as your primary ticket. Use Billys Night Moves (POST 10) underneath as a saver given its co-4-1 morning line. The trifecta using Posts 3, 4, and 9 in multiple combinations offers solid value at this purse level.

RACE 4 — Post 6:21 — 330 Yards | Dirt | Maiden Special Weight | Open | Purse $22,500

Pace Analysis

Race 4 mirrors Race 3 in conditions: 330 yards, maiden special weight, open company, $22,500. With Bv Rising Sun (POST 9) installed as the 2-1 morning line favorite, this race has a clearer hierarchy than the previous maiden sprint. At 330 yards, the nine-post is a concern for a morning line favorite, but the odds suggest a horse with substantial talent. This field will sort out quickly off the gate.

Key Contenders

Bv Rising Sun (POST 9) at 2-1 for trainer Josue Jacob Garcia and jockey Juan Pulido is the clear favorite, despite drawing from the nine-hole. Garcia is a trainer who moves horses forward and the 2-1 morning line in a full field is a strong endorsement of this horse's ability. Pulido is well-suited for the short sprint format. Watch the break carefully — if Bv Rising Sun (POST 9) gets away cleanly, the horse should be tough to beat.

Bp Good Policy (POST 3) at 4-1 for trainer Dee Keener and James A. Flores has the ideal inside post for a 330-yard sprint. Keener is an established trainer at Remington and Global Energy (POST 1) is the barn's second entry at 6-1 with Roman Cruz. Between the pair, Bp Good Policy (POST 3) gets the nod based on post position and comparable odds. Keener having two horses in a maiden special weight suggests confidence in the barn's overall string.

Jess Have Fun (POST 2) at 5-1 for Justin Joiner and Francisco Calderon fills the two-hole alongside Bp Good Policy (POST 3). Joiner saddled the 3-1 favorite in Race 3, and returning with a 5-1 shot in Race 4 gives the trainer additional action. Calderon aboard makes this a dangerous short-price runner.

Secondary Choices

Global Energy (POST 1) at 6-1 with Cruz has the rail. At 330 yards, the one-hole for a maiden is manageable but not ideal. Cruz is competent and if Global Energy (POST 1) breaks well, the position can be used effectively.

Wise Lady (POST 7) at 8-1 for Jason Olmstead and Ramiro Haro Garcia rounds out the secondary contenders. The seven-hole is a middle-to-outside position that requires a clean break. Olmstead does not have a large stable presence at the meet, but Wise Lady (POST 7) at 8-1 is worth a look in multi-horse exotics.

Longshots

Cyber Spender (POST 5) at 10-1 for Joe D. Merrick and Cody Rodger Smith is in the middle of the gate and could be a mild upset if the morning line leaders disappoint. Cercis (POST 10) at 12-1 for Tyler Cole Crawford and David Alvarez Jr. is from the outside post — use only for coverage in large trifecta and superfecta structures. Nsm B24 (POST 8) at 15-1 for Charles R. Hunt and Alexis E. Ramirez is another long price unlikely to factor. Famous Sonny D (POST 4) at 20-1 for Marc Jungers and Jesus Rios Ayala is a throw-out at that price in this company. Siimon Sl (POST 6) at 20-1 for Juan Martin Triana and Erik N. Esqueda is similarly overpriced for win consideration.

Selections

Win: Bv Rising Sun (POST 9) Place: Bp Good Policy (POST 3) Show: Jess Have Fun (POST 2)

Betting Strategy

Despite the nine-hole, Bv Rising Sun (POST 9) deserves a win bet. Structure exactas with Bv Rising Sun (POST 9) on top over Bp Good Policy (POST 3) and Jess Have Fun (POST 2). Use Global Energy (POST 1) and Wise Lady (POST 7) as low-cost trifecta fillers. If Bv Rising Sun (POST 9) gets beat, the likely culprit is Bp Good Policy (POST 3) with the post advantage, so make sure that horse appears on top in your saver tickets.

RACE 5 — Post 6:48 — 400 Yards | Dirt | Claiming $10,000 n2l | Mixed | Purse $14,500

Pace Analysis

The 400-yard claiming race for non-winners of two lifetime at the $10,000 level is typically a wide-open affair. At 400 yards there is slightly more room for pace scenarios to develop. Horses that can fire immediately from the gate and sustain that speed through the final 50 yards tend to dominate at this level. Pevs Sweet China (POST 10) as the 2-1 morning line favorite from the outside post will need to overcome a significant draw disadvantage, which at 400 yards is more forgivable than at 250 yards but still a real factor.

Key Contenders

Pevs Sweet China (POST 10) at 2-1 for trainer Rodrigo Covarrubias and Randy Vega is the heavy morning line choice. Covarrubias is an active trainer at the meet, and Vega knows how to handle horses from outside posts. At 400 yards, if the horse is legitimately talented, the ten-post can be overcome. The 2-1 price in a $10,000 claiming field with ten horses suggests legitimate ability.

Sashay Lightz (POST 4) at 3-1 for trainer Samuel Mendoza and Juan Pulido is the prime post position horse. The four-hole at 400 yards is prime real estate, and Pulido is among the colony's best riders for this distance. If Sashay Lightz (POST 4) fires cleanly, it will be very difficult to run down.

Rrelentless Dynasty (POST 1) at 5-1 for Joe M. Davis and Bryan Candanosa draws the rail. At 400 yards the inside post is more workable than at shorter distances, and Davis occasionally has horses ready in the claiming ranks. Candanosa is a capable gate rider.

Secondary Choices

Ima Cartel Special (POST 2) at 6-1 for Luz Chavira and Cordarelton J. Benn sits in the two-hole, a solid positional draw. Chavira has a productive stable at the meet and Corazon De Oro (POST 9) is the barn's second entry at 15-1 with Jonathan Dominguez. Ima Cartel Special (POST 2) is the more attractive of the two Chavira entries.

First Seis Fancy (POST 7) at 10-1 for Raul Rodriguez and David Alvarez Jr. is an outside price that could fill out trifecta and superfecta tickets at value.

Longshots

Heavenly N Azoom (POST 3) at 20-1 for Antonio S. Martinez is a long price with little projected impact on the outcome. Famous Kool Rocket (POST 5) at 10-1 for Valerie Torres and Jasten Pedraza is a middle-post horse at a fair price but lacks strong trainer/jockey credentials at this level. Shut Out Jess (POST 6) at 15-1 for Harvey Baeza is a throw-out. Can Run (POST 8) at 12-1 for Marti Rodriguez and Roman Cruz has a name that could be aspirational; the eight-hole and trainer profile suggest this is a fill-in horse. Corazon De Oro (POST 9) at 15-1 is the Chavira secondary entry and should be used only for coverage.

Selections

Win: Sashay Lightz (POST 4) Place: Pevs Sweet China (POST 10) Show: Ima Cartel Special (POST 2)

Betting Strategy

The value play here is Sashay Lightz (POST 4) at 3-1 over the heavy morning line favorite from the ten-hole. Structure an exacta wheel with Sashay Lightz (POST 4) on top over Pevs Sweet China (POST 10) and Ima Cartel Special (POST 2). Reverse the exacta with Pevs Sweet China (POST 10) on top over Sashay Lightz (POST 4) as an insurance play given the heavy backing. The trifecta using Posts 4, 10, and 2 in multiple orders offers a solid payout in this field.

RACE 6 — Post 7:15 — 400 Yards | Dirt | Maiden Special Weight | Geldings/Open | Purse $22,500

Pace Analysis

The 400-yard maiden special weight for open company is the longest maiden race on the card. At 400 yards, pace dynamics are slightly more pronounced — a horse that gets to the lead in the first 100 yards and can sustain that speed will typically win. With three co-favorites clustered between 2-1 and 4-1, this is a wide-open maiden event where pace will be set by multiple horses simultaneously.

Key Contenders

Cocomelon (POST 3) at 2-1 for James J. Gonzales III and Christian Cardenas is the morning line favorite. Gonzales fields Did I Win (POST 4) in Race 3 as well, giving the trainer a productive afternoon. Cocomelon (POST 3) from the three-hole has a prime post at 400 yards, and at 2-1 this is clearly the preferred runner in the barn. Cardenas will have the horse positioned close to the lead from the jump.

Krown The King (POST 1) at 4-1 for Jose Huerta and Cordarelton J. Benn draws the rail. At 400 yards, the inside post is far more acceptable than at shorter distances. Benn is one of the more reliable riders in the colony, and Huerta fields Krown The King (POST 1) as a legitimate contender. At 4-1, this price may be slightly generous if the horse has real talent.

Get Gone 123 (POST 2) at 4-1 for John A. Stinebaugh and Francisco Calderon fills the two-hole alongside Krown The King (POST 1). Calderon riding a 4-1 shot at 400 yards from the two-hole is a strong wagering angle. Stinebaugh is a trainer who targets these spots deliberately, and with Calderon in the irons, Get Gone 123 (POST 2) deserves serious consideration as a potential upset.

Secondary Choices

Jaimes Payday (POST 4) at 6-1 for Justin Joiner and Bryan Candanosa is a secondary selection worth noting. Joiner is active on the card, having entries in Races 3, 4, and 6. At 6-1 in an open maiden sprint, Jaimes Payday (POST 4) is a horse that could improve with this distance.

Good Candy Wagon (POST 6) at 10-1 for Marc Jungers and Jesus Rios Ayala is a middle-field horse that could fill out exotic tickets. Jungers occasionally spots horses well in maiden company.

Longshots

Jr123 (POST 5) at 15-1 for Samuel Gaytan Jr. and Juan Pulido has a decent post but long odds. Pulido riding a 15-1 shot is worth a minor note. Windy Sweets (POST 7) at 12-1 for Jesus Ruben Ruiz and Roman Cruz is a throw-out at this price. Thirty Four Below (POST 8) at 10-1 for Haley Hobbs and Fernando Fonseca-Soto could fill out large superfecta structures at a fair price. Made His Jack (POST 9) at 20-1 for Buddy Leon Clay and Erik N. Esqueda is a barn that can produce occasional surprises, but 20-1 is too long to invest meaningfully. I Want A Lawyer (POST 10) at 12-1 for Hernesto Ramirez and Mario Delgado faces the toughest post in the field at 400 yards and is a throw-out.

Selections

Win: Cocomelon (POST 3) Place: Get Gone 123 (POST 2) Show: Krown The King (POST 1)

Betting Strategy

The three co-favorites (Posts 1, 2, and 3) dominate this race and create a challenging wagering environment. The best approach is an exacta box of Cocomelon (POST 3), Get Gone 123 (POST 2), and Krown The King (POST 1). The trifecta using these three in any order will likely pay modestly given the public support, but Jaimes Payday (POST 4) as a fourth wheel adds value to the superfecta. At 2-1, Cocomelon (POST 3) is a marginal single-race win bet — only play if your ticket structure supports the low return.

RACE 7 — Post 7:42 — 300 Yards | Dirt | Maiden Special Weight | Geldings/Open | Purse $22,500

Pace Analysis

At 300 yards, this race falls between the pure explosion of 250 yards and the sustained sprint of 330 yards. The gate break is still the single most critical factor. At 300 yards with a ten-horse field, the middle posts (3 through 6) typically produce the cleanest trips. Favorito Cartier (POST 6) as the 2-1 morning line favorite is ideally positioned to take full advantage.

Key Contenders

Favorito Cartier (POST 6) at 2-1 for trainer Leonardo Alcala and Juan Pulido is the clear choice. The six-hole at 300 yards is excellent, and Pulido is one of the better riders on this card. Alcala has demonstrated an ability to have horses ready in maiden company, and Favorito Cartier (POST 6) at 2-1 is a horse that projects as a legitimate winner at this level.

Dae Not Like Us (POST 2) at 4-1 for Theodore Alexander and David Alvarez Jr. draws the two-hole, a prime position for a 300-yard sprint. Alexander is a trainer with enough activity at the meet to be taken seriously, and Alvarez is a capable rider with solid numbers. At 4-1 with a good post, Dae Not Like Us (POST 2) is the main rival to the favorite.

Wilbarger (POST 8) at 5-1 for Jerry W. Sewell II and Cordarelton J. Benn is a horse that earns secondary mention at a price. Sewell is a consistent trainer at the Oklahoma tracks, and Benn gives Wilbarger (POST 8) an excellent chance of breaking cleanly. The eight-hole at 300 yards is a minor negative, but the talent level and jockey quality can compensate.

Secondary Choices

Chunky Bunny (POST 3) at 6-1 for Buddy Leon Clay and Erik N. Esqueda has the three-hole. Clay and Esqueda is a capable combination, and Chunky Bunny (POST 3) at 6-1 in an open maiden sprint offers some value. This is a horse worth including underneath in trifecta structures.

Jds Prize (POST 5) at 8-1 for Marti Rodriguez and Cody Rodger Smith has the five-hole and a quality rider. Rodriguez is a modest trainer presence, but Smith getting on an 8-1 shot suggests the horse may have shown something in the morning.

Longshots

Jt Ambitious Kitty (POST 1) at 15-1 for Jeff Tyer and Roman Cruz draws the rail. At 300 yards, the inside post requires a clean break and a clear path to be competitive. Ebw Pecos (POST 4) at 10-1 for Clinton Crawford and Jorge Torres is from a busy trainer barn. Crawford having an entry here at 10-1 rather than shorter suggests this is not the barn's primary hope. Just Bettys Eagle (POST 7) at 20-1 for Joaquin Lopez is a heavy outsider. Solo Mr (POST 9) at 15-1 for Josue Jacob Garcia is a throw-out at this price. Political Suspicions (POST 10) at 15-1 for Edward Ross Hardy and Angel O. Ramirez faces the toughest post in a 300-yard sprint and is used only for large superfecta coverage.

Selections

Win: Favorito Cartier (POST 6) Place: Dae Not Like Us (POST 2) Show: Wilbarger (POST 8)

Betting Strategy

Favorito Cartier (POST 6) at 2-1 is a legitimate single-race win play. Pair it in exactas over Dae Not Like Us (POST 2) and Wilbarger (POST 8). At 6-1, Chunky Bunny (POST 3) adds value to trifecta tickets. This is a good race for a small win parlay using Favorito Cartier (POST 6) if your bankroll strategy supports it.

RACE 8 — Post 8:09 — 300 Yards | Dirt | Claiming $20,000 n2l | Mixed | Purse $16,500

Pace Analysis

A ten-horse claiming field at 300 yards for non-winners of two lifetime at the $20,000 level is a step up in class from the $10,000 claiming race in Race 5. The pace profile is identical to Race 7 — this is a gate-to-wire sprint with the outcome determined almost entirely in the first 50 yards. Hitting The Ivory (POST 8) at 2-1 is installed as the morning line favorite, despite drawing from the eight-hole, which signals strong talent credentials.

Key Contenders

Hitting The Ivory (POST 8) at 2-1 for trainer Leonardo Alcala and Juan Pulido is the morning line favorite. Alcala returns from Race 7 with another short-priced runner, and Pulido is once again aboard. The eight-hole at 300 yards is a concern, but Alcala's confidence in the horse at 2-1 is hard to dismiss. Pulido's gate skills will be tested from the outside portion of the field.

Fishers Tricki Charm (POST 4) at 4-1 for Samuel Mendoza and Francisco Calderon is the prime post position horse. Mendoza also trains Sashay Lightz (POST 4) in Race 5, making this a productive card for the trainer. Fishers Tricki Charm (POST 4) from the four-hole at 300 yards has a clear positional advantage over the favorite, and Calderon is one of the card's top jockeys. This is the main upset candidate.

Recio (POST 3) at 5-1 for Haley Hobbs and Fernando Fonseca-Soto is from the three-hole. Hobbs also trains Thirty Four Below (POST 8) in Race 6. Recio (POST 3) at 5-1 with a prime post deserves serious consideration as a value play.

Secondary Choices

Sheza Fancy (POST 9) at 6-1 for Josue Jacob Garcia and Jesus Rios Ayala is Garcia's entry in Race 8. The nine-hole at 300 yards is problematic, but Garcia has a solid record at the meet and Ayala is a capable replacement rider if needed. At 6-1, this is worth minor exotic inclusion.

Mb Miss Julisco (POST 1) at 12-1 for Juan Carlos Morales-Cipriano and Christian Esqueda has the rail. The inside post can work in a full claiming field if the horse has quick gate speed. Esqueda is a useful rider for these short sprints.

Longshots

A Regal Banner (POST 2) at 15-1 for David Brown and Erik N. Esqueda has the two-hole, which is a solid position, but the long price indicates limited talent expectations. Flyn Jesse James (POST 5) at 20-1 for Juan L. Vazquez is a throw-out. Amadeuss (POST 6) at 15-1 for Michelle Hurdle and Cody Rodger Smith — Hurdle's presence here is notable; this could be a horse worth watching if it firmed from the morning line. Royal Chil (POST 7) at 12-1 for Matt Whitekiller and Randy Vega is a secondary barn entry at a long price. Rare Reina (POST 10) at 10-1 for Eloy Quinonez and Osvaldo Quinonez-Lopez has a family connection between trainer and jockey, which occasionally signals a tightly-prepared horse. Worth including in deep superfecta tickets.

Selections

Win: Hitting The Ivory (POST 8) Place: Fishers Tricki Charm (POST 4) Show: Recio (POST 3)

Betting Strategy

Despite the post concern, Hitting The Ivory (POST 8) at 2-1 is backed strongly enough to warrant a win bet. Counter with an exacta placing Fishers Tricki Charm (POST 4) on top as your primary upset ticket at a much better payout. The trifecta using Posts 8, 4, and 3 in multiple combinations offers solid value. Include Sheza Fancy (POST 9) and Amadeuss (POST 6) as cheap fourth options in the superfecta.

RACE 9 — Post 8:36 — 300 Yards | Dirt | Claiming $20,000 | Mixed | Purse $18,000

Pace Analysis

Race 9 is a $20,000 claiming event open to horses that have previously won, meaning this is a classier field than the n2l events earlier on the card. At 300 yards with experienced runners, the pace will be fierce from the gate. Flying Afar (POST 10) at 2-1 is the heavy morning line favorite, which creates an immediate wagering challenge — the best horse may be coming from the ten-hole. This is the type of race where the pace scenario is irrelevant; the outcome is determined by raw talent and gate sharpness.

Key Contenders

Flying Afar (POST 10) at 2-1 for trainer Gerardo Arroyo and Giovany Estrada is the morning line choice despite the worst post in the field. Arroyo has an established presence at the meet, and when a trainer sends a 2-1 shot from the outside, it typically means the horse has shown exceptional raw speed in the morning. Watch the tote carefully — if Flying Afar (POST 10) gets heavier action approaching post time, the public is expressing confidence that the post can be overcome.

Superstition (POST 9) at 4-1 for Marla Dayana Vargas and Bryan Candanosa is from the nine-hole, one step inside the favorite. Vargas also trains Chew N Candy (POST 6) in this race at 6-1, giving her the barn's top two positions. Superstition (POST 9) at 4-1 deserves top consideration as the primary challenge to Flying Afar (POST 10).

Deutsch (POST 3) at 5-1 for Patrick Swan and Francisco Calderon has the three-hole — a prime position in this ten-horse field. Swan is a measured trainer who picks spots carefully, and Calderon from the three-hole in a claiming sprint is a formidable combination. This is the value play in Race 9.

Secondary Choices

Chew N Candy (POST 6) at 6-1 for Vargas and Roman Cruz is the second Vargas barn entry. From the six-hole with Cruz, this is a middle-of-the-gate runner at a fair price. Cruz is capable of delivering competitive efforts from mid-field posts.

Southern Tic Tac (POST 7) at 8-1 for Michelle Hurdle and Randy Vega rounds out the secondary tier. Hurdle is active throughout the card, and Southern Tic Tac (POST 7) at 8-1 from the seven-hole offers value in trifecta structures.

Longshots

Dashin Lewee (POST 1) at 15-1 for Luz Chavira and Cody Rodger Smith has the rail. Chavira fields entries throughout the card. At 15-1 from the one-hole, Dashin Lewee (POST 1) is a deep longshot unlikely to factor in wins but worth including for superfecta coverage. Aj Favorite Ok (POST 2) at 15-1 for Chris Gandarilla and Cordarelton J. Benn has the two-hole at a long price. Tf Premo Dash (POST 4) at 12-1 for Everardo Escamilla-Gonzalez and Mario Delgado is a throw-out at this price. Striking Breeze (POST 5) at 30-1 for Hernesto Ramirez is the longest price on the card in Race 9 and is a complete throw-out. Jess Diamond (POST 8) at 15-1 for Jerry Sewell and Erik N. Esqueda is a long-price horse from a capable trainer but is unlikely to factor with the odds differential.

Selections

Win: Flying Afar (POST 10) Place: Deutsch (POST 3) Show: Superstition (POST 9)

Betting Strategy

Despite the ten-hole, the morning line tells you to respect Flying Afar (POST 10). However, the value play on top is Deutsch (POST 3) at 5-1 from the prime three-hole. Structure a key exacta with Deutsch (POST 3) on top over Flying Afar (POST 10), Superstition (POST 9), and Chew N Candy (POST 6). Reverse the exacta with Flying Afar (POST 10) on top using the same group. This race is a strong trifecta play using Posts 3, 10, and 9 in all combinations with Chew N Candy (POST 6) as an economical add in large structures.

RACE 10 — Post 9:03 — 400 Yards | Dirt | Allowance $24,000 n2l | Mixed | Purse $24,000

Pace Analysis

The finale is the highest-class race on the card — a $24,000 allowance for non-winners of two lifetime at 400 yards. At this level, the horses have demonstrated ability to win, and the pace will be fast and unrelenting from the gate. Dr Stone Cold (POST 5) at 2-1 is the morning line choice from the five-hole, a prime position. The race shapes as the most competitive of the evening, with class horses and multiple live contenders.

Key Contenders

Dr Stone Cold (POST 5) at 2-1 for trainer Jed H. Vane and Juan Pulido is the morning line favorite from the five-hole. Vane is a trainer who targets allowance conditions strategically, and placing a 2-1 shot in the finale at a strong post suggests the horse is ready. Pulido completing his final ride of the evening on the favorite is a strong pattern — jockeys who know the card, track, and surface well often deliver their best performances in the anchor event.

Whata Lota Boy (POST 9) at 4-1 for Clinton Crawford and James A. Flores is the main rival. Crawford has been active throughout this card, and Whata Lota Boy (POST 9) from the nine-hole at 4-1 is a serious challenger. At 400 yards, the nine-post is workable, and Flores is experienced enough to overcome the outside draw. Crawford finishing his card with a 4-1 shot in the feature is a positive trainer signal.

Church Spire (POST 2) at 5-1 for Marco Adair Chavez-Gutierrez and Jesus Rios Ayala fills the two-hole. Chavez-Gutierrez also trains Corazon De Oro (POST 9) in Race 5. Church Spire (POST 2) at 5-1 from the inside is well-positioned and offers genuine value at the morning line.

Secondary Choices

Autamatic (POST 1) at 8-1 for Dean Frey and Francisco Calderon draws the rail. Frey is a quiet trainer who does not make heavy entries often, and having Autamatic (POST 1) in the feature with Calderon aboard is noteworthy. At 8-1 from the inside post, this is the value pick of the race.

Kiss My Crush (POST 7) at 10-1 for Gerardo Arroyo and Roman Cruz is a secondary choice. Arroyo trains Flying Afar (POST 10) in Race 9, giving him consecutive competitive entries to close the card. At 10-1 with Cruz, Kiss My Crush (POST 7) is worth including in trifecta and superfecta structures.

Longshots

Naughty Cuban Cowboy (POST 3) at 15-1 for Edward Ross Hardy and Angel O. Ramirez is a long price from an active trainer. Hardy has entries in Races 3, 7, and 10, suggesting a productive evening for the barn. Apollitical Signs (POST 4) at 12-1 for Stacy Charette-Hill and Christian Esqueda is the Charette-Hill entry in the finale. At 12-1, this is a secondary barn hope but is worth a minor inclusion in superfecta tickets given the trainer's reputation. Magic Cowboy (POST 6) at 10-1 for Jake Eck and Rolando Raudales is a horse with a colorful name and a long price. Raudales does not appear on the card frequently, which raises questions about the horse's preparation. Cocopatas Eagle (POST 8) at 12-1 for Victor H. Rodriguez-Flores and Bryan Candanosa is from a trainer with limited visibility on the card. Rr Easy Favorite (POST 10) at 12-1 for Kevin Willis and J.D. Brooks rounds out the field from the outside post. Willis is a trainer that occasionally fires in allowance company, and BROOKS riding the horse late on the card is worth a minor note. At 12-1 from the ten-hole at 400 yards, however, this is a superfecta add only.

Selections

Win: Dr Stone Cold (POST 5) Place: Church Spire (POST 2) Show: Whata Lota Boy (POST 9)

Betting Strategy

Dr Stone Cold (POST 5) is the best single of the evening at 2-1 in the feature. Win bet is justified. Structure exactas with Dr Stone Cold (POST 5) on top over Whata Lota Boy (POST 9), Church Spire (POST 2), and Autamatic (POST 1). The trifecta box using Posts 5, 2, and 9 is your primary ticket, with Autamatic (POST 1) added economically as a fourth in the superfecta.

Jockey Notes and Insights

Francisco Calderon is one of the busiest riders on the card with mounts in Races 1, 3, 4, 8, 9, and 10. Calderon is a consistent performer at Remington who executes well in the gate. His book tonight includes several live horses — A Flyingdynamite 123 (POST 3) in Race 3, Jess Have Fun (POST 2) in Race 4, and Deutsch (POST 3) in Race 9 stand out as his best chances.

Juan Pulido is equally active with mounts in Races 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10. Favorito Cartier (POST 6) in Race 7 and Dr Stone Cold (POST 5) in Race 10 are his feature opportunities. Pulido's presence aboard two morning line favorites in the evening's later races is noteworthy — jockeys who accept the heavy favorites late in the card typically do so because they have watched the surface all evening and feel confident about conditions.

Roman Cruz rides in Races 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10. Cruz has a broad book but no clear standout among his mounts. His best chance may come from Chew N Candy (POST 6) in Race 9 at a fair 6-1 price.

Cordarelton J. Benn has mounts across Races 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Krown The King (POST 1) in Race 6 at 4-1 is arguably his best opportunity of the evening from a win probability standpoint.

Cody Rodger Smith rides in Races 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, and 9. Pt Glitz (POST 4) in Race 1 is his top win candidate. Smith's ability to handle horses in claiming races is well-established at Remington.

Erik N. Esqueda rides in Races 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9. His book is heavy with longshots tonight, suggesting he does not hold a prime book across the card.

David Alvarez Jr. has mounts in Races 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 10. His best opportunity is likely Dae Not Like Us (POST 2) in Race 7 at 4-1.

Trainer Notes and Insights

Stacy Charette-Hill fields WIRED FOR SUCCESS (POST 1) and Jh Blood Sweatandtear (POST 2) in Race 1, plus Apollitical Signs (POST 4) in Race 10. Multiple entries in a race can sometimes indicate the trainer is testing which horse is more prepared. Between the two Race 1 entries, Jh Blood Sweatandtear (POST 2) gets the edge based on post position. Apollitical Signs (POST 4) at 12-1 in the feature is a secondary barn investment.

Dee Keener runs Showin You Some Kvn (POST 6) and Secret Turnpike (POST 7) in Race 1, plus Global Energy (POST 1) and Bp Good Policy (POST 3) in Race 4. Having four runners across two races is significant volume. Bp Good Policy (POST 3) in Race 4 is the prime Keener entry based on post position and odds.

Michelle Hurdle has Idgie (POST 7) in Race 2, Amadeuss (POST 6) in Race 8, and Southern Tic Tac (POST 7) in Race 9. Idgie (POST 7) at 2-1 is clearly the barn's top hope of the card.

Matt Whitekiller fields Pt Glitz (POST 4) and Criminal Streak (POST 8) in Race 1, plus Royal Chil (POST 7) in Race 8. Pt Glitz (POST 4) is the barn's primary runner.

Justin Joiner is active across Races 3, 4, and 6 with A Flyingdynamite 123 (POST 3), Jess Have Fun (POST 2), and Jaimes Payday (POST 4). Joiner having three maiden entries across consecutive races suggests the trainer has multiple horses ready to make their mark this evening.

Clinton Crawford entries span Races 3, 5, 7, 9, and 10: Sydney 400 (POST 9) in Race 3, Pevs Sweet China (POST 10) in Race 5 — wait, note that Pevs Sweet China (POST 10) is trained by Covarrubias, not Crawford. Crawford's entries include Sydney 400 (POST 9) in Race 3, Ebw Pecos (POST 4) in Race 7, and Whata Lota Boy (POST 9) in Race 10. Whata Lota Boy (POST 9) in the feature is Crawford's top opportunity of the card.

Gerardo Arroyo trains Hot Secretito (POST 3) in Race 2, Flying Afar (POST 10) in Race 9, and Kiss My Crush (POST 7) in Race 10. Flying Afar (POST 10) at 2-1 in Race 9 is the barn's standout.

Marla Dayana Vargas trains Rokket Scientist (POST 7) in Race 3, Chew N Candy (POST 6) and Superstition (POST 9) in Race 9. Having two horses in the same race suggests depth in the barn's claiming stable. Superstition (POST 9) at 4-1 is the primary Vargas runner.

Josue Jacob Garcia has Bv Rising Sun (POST 9) in Race 4, Solo Mr (POST 9) in Race 7, and Sheza Fancy (POST 9) in Race 8. Three entries, all from the nine-post, is a curious coincidence. Bv Rising Sun (POST 9) at 2-1 in Race 4 is the clear top horse.

Best Wagering Strategies and Value Plays

The card at Remington Park on April 19, 2026 offers several strong wagering opportunities across ten races. Below is a summary of the top value plays, recommended bet structures, and multirace sequences.

Best Win Bets of the Night

Dr Stone Cold (POST 5) in Race 10 at 2-1 is the card's best single, from the ideal five-hole in the highest-class race on the program. This is a justified straight win bet.

Favorito Cartier (POST 6) in Race 7 at 2-1 represents another prime post with a quality trainer-jockey combination, making it a reliable single in multirace structures.

Deutsch (POST 3) in Race 9 at 5-1 offers the best value among horses with prime post positions in competitive company. Backing Deutsch (POST 3) to win at 5-1 from the three-hole over a 2-1 shot from the ten-post represents genuine overlay opportunity.

Top Exacta Angles

Race 5: Sashay Lightz (POST 4) over Pevs Sweet China (POST 10) and Ima Cartel Special (POST 2) — the post-position advantage at 3-1 makes this an attractive price.

Race 9: Deutsch (POST 3) over Flying Afar (POST 10), Superstition (POST 9), and Chew N Candy (POST 6) — reversing Flying Afar (POST 10) on top as insurance given the 2-1 morning line.

Race 10: Dr Stone Cold (POST 5) over Whata Lota Boy (POST 9), Church Spire (POST 2), and Autamatic (POST 1).

Pick 4 and Pick 5 Sequences

The best late Pick 4 on the card runs from Race 7 through Race 10:

Race 7: Favorito Cartier (POST 6) single Race 8: Hitting The Ivory (POST 8) and Fishers Tricki Charm (POST 4) Race 9: Flying Afar (POST 10), Deutsch (POST 3), and Superstition (POST 9) Race 10: Dr Stone Cold (POST 5) single

This structure (1x2x3x1) produces six combinations. At $1 base, this is a $6 ticket. At $2 base, a $12 ticket. Given the two singles in Races 7 and 10, this is a high-risk, high-reward structure. If both singles hold, the payoff could be substantial.

For a broader approach, consider a Race 6 through Race 10 Pick 5:

Race 6: Cocomelon (POST 3) and Get Gone 123 (POST 2) Race 7: Favorito Cartier (POST 6) single Race 8: Hitting The Ivory (POST 8) and Fishers Tricki Charm (POST 4) Race 9: Flying Afar (POST 10), Deutsch (POST 3), and Superstition (POST 9) Race 10: Dr Stone Cold (POST 5) single

This structure (2x1x2x3x1) produces twelve combinations. At $1 base, a $12 ticket. This sequence offers two moderately priced singles bookending a flexible middle section, giving you a reasonable chance of connecting on a large payout if the longshots land in Races 8 and 9.

Best Value Ticket of the Card

The Race 9 trifecta using Deutsch (POST 3), Flying Afar (POST 10), and Superstition (POST 9) in all six combinations at $1 each for a $6 investment has tremendous potential given the outside-post favorite at 2-1 and the value horse at 5-1 from a prime post. If Deutsch (POST 3) upsets Flying Afar (POST 10), this trifecta could pay well over $100 for a $1 ticket. This is the night's best single-race exotic value.
