Equibase launches new computer-generated rating system for every Thoroughbred racehorse in North America.

Equibase has officially introduced a computer-generated rating system that assigns performance scores to nearly every Thoroughbred racehorse training in North America, providing racing secretaries with an alternative tool for creating race conditions. The system appeared on horse profile pages starting October 16, 2025, with Santa Anita expected to be the first track to implement "Ratings Handicaps" as early as October 24.​

Thanks for the memories, Anna! 2024 Horse of the Year Thorpedo Anna retired from racing today.

Thorpedo Anna, the reigning 2024 Horse of the Year, was officially retired from racing on October 15, 2025, marking the end of a remarkable career for one of thoroughbred racing's most accomplished fillies. Trainer Kenny McPeek announced the retirement decision following her disappointing fourth-place finish in the Grade I Spinster Stakes at Keeneland on October 5.​

Claiborne Farm will consign the share as agent, with the 4-year-old son of Constitution set to stand at stud at Claiborne in Paris, Kentucky, after his racing career.
