Delaware Park Race Day Overview — June 11, 2026

Delaware Park opens its Thursday card with nine races spanning dirt and turf, ranging from bottom-level $5,000 claimers to a $46,000 allowance sprint and a $45,000 maiden special weight turf route. The card offers a solid mix of claiming, maiden, and allowance conditions that reward careful class and pace analysis. The meet has been running at a steady clip, and the jockey standings reflect a competitive colony with several riders posting strong meet numbers heading into this week.

Notable trainer activity around the Delaware meet includes the ongoing presence of Pedro Nazario, who saddles multiple horses today across several races, and Jamie Ness, who continues to be one of the more active conditioners at the meet. Michael Stidham, Cathal Lynch, H. Graham Motion, and Michael Matz are among the mid-Atlantic and regional barns dropping horses into today's card, particularly in the turf races.

The HISA rulings posted this week include the resolution of the Guerrero testosterone ban case, but that barn has no direct representation on today's card.

Weather and Track Conditions — June 11, 2026

The Delaware Park area in Wilmington is expected to see partly cloudy skies with afternoon temperatures in the low-to-mid 80s Fahrenheit. Humidity will be elevated, typical for early June in the Delmarva region. No significant rainfall is forecast for race day, which should leave the main track labeled as fast or good. The turf course, which hosts Race 4, Race 6, and Race 8 today, is expected to be firm to good, depending on any overnight moisture. Given the track's history of careful turf maintenance during the summer meet, firm conditions are the base assumption, though any morning dew or irrigation could nudge the course toward a good rating.

A fast main track and firm-to-good turf are the working assumptions for today's analysis.

Track Bias and Post Position Analysis

Delaware Park is a one-mile oval with a relatively short stretch run by mid-Atlantic standards. On the main track, early speed has historically held a meaningful advantage, particularly in sprint races at six furlongs. The first turn comes up quickly for horses breaking from outside posts in sprint events, which can create positioning challenges for wide movers. Inside posts in dirt sprints tend to be advantageous when the track is fast, as horses can secure a ground-saving trip along the rail.

In route races on the dirt, the bias levels out somewhat, but horses that can secure a stalking position just off the pace from inside or middle posts have a structural advantage. Outside posts in longer dirt routes can be costly if a horse needs to use energy to gain position going into the first turn.

On the turf course, the Delaware Park inner turf course rewards horses that can race close to the pace or just off it. In longer turf routes, closers do fire when the pace is honest, but the relatively short stretch makes it difficult for deep closers to close out a race that has been run conservatively. Post position on the turf is somewhat neutralized in route races compared to sprints, but inside posts still provide the ground-saving advantage that matters late.

At the current meet, early speed has been performing well on the main track, consistent with the historical bias. Handicappers should pay attention to horses with clean early foot who can secure a forward position without using excessive energy.

RACE 1 — Post (12:20) — 1760f | D | C | Clm 5000b | BUM | Purse $16,000

This is a one-mile dirt claiming race for fillies and mares at the $5,000 claiming level, among the lower rungs of the Delaware Park condition ladder. Six mares go to post, and sorting out pace and class droppers is the primary task.

Race 1

Pace Analysis

With six runners, the pace picture is moderately clear. Miti Fast Flower (Post 3) and Principia (Post 5) are both morning line favorites at 2-1, suggesting the market sees them as the class of the field. The one-mile distance on dirt favors horses who can rate behind any early pace and sustain their run into the stretch. If multiple speed horses fire early, the race could set up for a closer, but at this level the pace is rarely torrid enough to completely blow up front-runners. A moderate, honest pace is the most likely scenario.

Key Contenders

Miti Fast Flower (Post 3), trained by Kelly Lynn Deiter, is tabbed at 2-1 and comes in as a co-favorite. Deiter has been active at the Delaware meet and this horse is positioned in the three hole, a useful inside post at one mile. MITI FAST FLOWER fits the class level and the trainer has shown a solid hit rate at Delaware this meet. The jockey assignment of Kevin Gomez gives this filly a capable pair of hands.

Principia (Post 5), trained by Jamie Ness and ridden by Yedsit Hazlewood, is the other morning line co-favorite at 2-1. Ness is one of the more reliable trainers at Delaware Park and consistently places horses in spots where they can compete. PRINCIPIA in the five post will need to work out a reasonable trip on the first turn. Ness's overall meet statistics make this horse a serious threat at the price.

Secondary Choices

Laughing Fit (Post 4), trained by Bruce Kravets and ridden by R. Chiappe, opens at 4-1. Kravets has shown consistency at Delaware at the claiming level and the four post is excellent for a one-mile race. LAUGHING FIT figures to be competitively positioned and could outrun the morning line if she gets a clean trip.

Bottle Rocket (Post 6), trained by Jeffrey Poole and ridden by Cipriano Gil, is listed at 5-1. The outside post in a one-mile dirt race can be manageable if the horse has tactical speed, and this one draws some action from handicappers as a live price.

Longshots

Beachgrass (Post 1), trained by Pedro Nazario and ridden by Carol Cedeno, opens at 15-1. The rail post in a one-mile claiming race can actually be an asset, as it saves ground throughout, but the long morning line suggests this filly has limited recent form to recommend her. Nazario runs multiple horses today, which can dilute stable attention.

Recognize Me (Post 2), trained by Selvin Hernandez Cano and ridden by Leonardo Corujo, opens at 12-1. Little to recommend at the morning line price, though the two post is solid positionally.

Selections

Win: Principia (Post 5) Place: Miti Fast Flower (Post 3) Show: Laughing Fit (Post 4)

Betting Strategy: The race sets up as a two-horse battle between the co-favorites. A win single on Principia (Post 5) at 2-1 is the primary play, with Laughing Fit (Post 4) adding value in exacta combinations beneath the two favorites. A $2 exacta box of Principia (Post 5) and Miti Fast Flower (Post 3) is a safe base, with Laughing Fit (Post 4) added as a third leg in a $1 exacta part-wheel.

RACE 2 — Post (12:52) — 1320f | D | C | Clm 7500n2l | BUN | Purse $15,000

A six-furlong dirt sprint for horses that have not won two lifetime races, restricted to the $7,500 claiming level. Seven runners go to post. The condition restricts this to horses with limited win records, making pace and early position crucial in a straight sprint.

Race 2

Pace Analysis

Seven horses at six furlongs with several likely wanting to be forward creates a potentially contested pace scenario. Gonzalo (Post 1), Sweet Winner (Post 2), and Saint Cloud (Post 6) all open at or near favoritism, and identifying who gets to the lead cheaply matters in a race like this. If pace horses burn each other, Borz (Post 7) on the outside could close. The inside posts hold an edge in six-furlong sprints at Delaware as the first turn arrives early.

Key Contenders

Sweet Winner (Post 2), trained by Daniel Velazquez and ridden by Cipriano Gil, opens as a 2-1 co-favorite. The two post in a sprint is ideal for establishing position without burning early energy. Gil has been riding well at the Delaware meet. Velazquez is a competent condition claimer trainer and SWEET WINNER appears to be well placed.

Saint Cloud (Post 6), trained by Victor Barboza Jr. and ridden by Pascacio Lopez, also opens at 2-1. Barboza Jr. has been showing respectable numbers at the meet, and Lopez is one of the more active riders in the colony. The six post in a sprint requires a bit more work to secure position, but this horse carries enough confidence in the morning line to suggest connections believe she can handle it.

Gonzalo (Post 1), trained by Pedro Nazario and ridden by Paul Luna, opens at 3-1. The rail in a sprint can be treacherous if the horse gets shuffled, but it can also be golden if the horse breaks cleanly and hugs the inside. Luna is a capable rider who knows the Delaware layout. With Nazario sending out multiple horses today, connections clearly feel GONZALO has a live chance at this level.

Secondary Choices

Borz (Post 7), trained by Jonathaniel Badillo-Casado and ridden by Jesus Rios, opens at 4-1. The outside post is the most challenging in a sprint, but BORZ could benefit if the pace heats up from the inside horses. At 4-1 this is a fair price if this runner has any late kick.

Migratory (Post 4), trained by Michael Simone and ridden by Marvin Fernandez, opens at 10-1. Simone saddles a contender in Race 9 as well today and is a capable condition race trainer. MIGRATORY figures to be overlooked.

Longshots

Knockout Guy (Post 3), trained by Johnathon Fearon and ridden by Teshawn Hazelwood, opens at 20-1. Very little to recommend at that price in this company.

Palace Revolt (Post 5), trained by Jose Rodriguez and ridden by Felix Vasquez Jr., opens at 15-1. The five post is useful positionally but the morning line says this runner has work to do to be competitive.

Selections

Win: Sweet Winner (Post 2) Place: Saint Cloud (Post 6) Show: Gonzalo (Post 1)

Betting Strategy: Sweet Winner (Post 2) and Saint Cloud (Post 6) both open at 2-1, making an exacta of the two likely to pay in the $6 to $9 range, which is barely worth the risk. The real play here is to include Borz (Post 7) underneath in exacta and trifecta combinations. A trifecta using Sweet Winner (Post 2) and Saint Cloud (Post 6) on top with Borz (Post 7) and Gonzalo (Post 1) in third can offer value. Also consider using Borz (Post 7) as an upset win contender to boost payouts.

RACE 3 — Post (1:24) — 1830f | D | C | Clm 5000b | BUN | Purse $16,000

A one-mile and seventy-yard dirt route for horses not having won two lifetime races at the $5,000 claiming level. Ten horses go to post in what is the most crowded race on the card. Navigating a full field at a route distance requires careful pace reading and trip analysis.

Race 3

Pace Analysis

Ten horses in a one-mile route is a significant field. Patton's Tizzy (Post 8) opens as the morning line favorite at 2-1 and figures to be the horse to beat. The wide draw is a concern for a horse that needs to position early, but at a one-mile distance there is enough race to compensate. Paces in ten-horse fields at this level can be chaotic early, which can set up for a stalker or closer who survives traffic and makes a clean run in the stretch.

Key Contenders

Patton's Tizzy (Post 8), trained by Greg Compton and ridden by Pascacio Lopez, opens as the 2-1 favorite. Compton has been a reliable presence at Delaware and the rider switch to Lopez, who is among the busiest and most effective riders at the current meet, is a positive sign. From the eight post, PATTON'S TIZZY will need to find a comfortable position early. Compton's record in route claiming races at Delaware deserves respect.

Majestic Tiger (Post 3), trained by Jamie Ness and ridden by Martin Chuan, opens at 3-1. Ness continues to place horses well, and the three post in a ten-horse route is an excellent draw. This horse can secure a ground-saving position early and rate just off the pace. Ness/Chuan is a combination worth following at Delaware.

Secondary Choices

Crabcakes N Beer (Post 1), trained by Victor Carrasco Jr. and ridden by Raul Mena, opens at 6-1. The rail in a one-mile route can be a mixed blessing — excellent for saving ground but dangerous if the horse gets trapped early. However, if CRABCAKES N BEER can secure a clean position, this is a live price at 6-1.

Hawkstone (Post 7), trained by Pedro Nazario and ridden by Paul Luna, opens at 10-1. This is Nazario's second horse in the race alongside Pierce Elevated (Post 4). Stables running two horses in the same race can complicate team strategy, but Nazario clearly feels HAWKSTONE has a shot in this field. Luna rides well at Delaware.

Winooski (Post 10), trained by Arthur Agostini and ridden by Samuel Marin, opens at 10-1. The outside post in a ten-horse route is problematic, but if pace develops and WINOOSKI has any class edge, the ten post becomes manageable late. Worth a small inclusion in trifecta tickets.

Longshots

Pierce Elevated (Post 4), trained by Pedro Nazario and ridden by Jose Batista, opens at 12-1. This is Nazario's other entrant. Running two horses in the same race at a price like this suggests one or both are being used for development rather than a serious win effort.

Broderick (Post 2), trained by Jane Martin and ridden by Barrington Bell, opens at 12-1. Limited reasons to recommend at this price in a full field.

Let's Have A Party (Post 5), trained by Nesvil Bailon and ridden by Sara Hess, opens at 15-1. The 15-1 morning line makes this an extreme price to chase in a competitive field.

Bourbon State (Post 6), trained by Alejandro Mendieta and ridden by Carol Cedeno, opens at 12-1. Mendieta runs multiple horses today and BOURBON STATE at 12-1 is a minor inclusion in wide exotics only.

Ice Bar (Post 9), trained by Sarah Cundith and ridden by Gavin Ashton, opens at 12-1. Cundith is a lesser-known conditioner at the meet and the 12-1 reflects limited expectations.

Selections

Win: Patton's Tizzy (Post 8) Place: Majestic Tiger (Post 3) Show: Crabcakes N Beer (Post 1)

Betting Strategy: The favorite Patton's Tizzy (Post 8) is solid but the eight post in a ten-horse field at a route distance requires a clean trip. Protect against trouble by keying Majestic Tiger (Post 3) in exacta and trifecta bets as both a second horse and a potential upset winner. A trifecta structure of Patton's Tizzy (Post 8) and Majestic Tiger (Post 3) on top with Crabcakes N Beer (Post 1), Hawkstone (Post 7), and Winooski (Post 10) in third represents solid value in a wide, difficult field.

RACE 4 — Post (1:56) — 1830f | T | M | Md 25000 | BUN | Purse $24,000

A maiden claiming race for males at $25,000, going one mile and seventy yards on the turf. Nine horses enter, with Win Street (Post 2) installed as a heavy morning line favorite at even money. Turf maiden races at this distance and price level can be deceptive, as some horses that have been green or failing on dirt can suddenly improve dramatically on grass.

Race 4

Pace Analysis

With Win Street (Post 2) at 1-1, the market is making a strong statement. Turf routes of this distance tend to develop at a slow-to-moderate pace through the first half mile before the tempo accelerates. Horses that can rate comfortably on the turf and have any pedigree for the surface deserve attention. The pace will likely be moderate, setting up for the top closers to make their move in the far turn.

Key Contenders

Win Street (Post 2), trained by Michael Trombetta and ridden by Pascacio Lopez, opens at 1-1. Trombetta is one of the more respected mid-Atlantic trainers and frequently connects with maiden claimers who are being pointed toward a favorable spot. The two post on the turf is excellent for route races, saving ground throughout. Lopez is in excellent form at the current meet, and riding for a trainer of Trombetta's caliber at even money suggests connections have strong confidence. The one legitimate question is whether this horse will handle the turf surface.

Sun's Arising (Post 5), trained by Gregory Sacco and ridden by Cipriano Gil, opens at 4-1. Sacco is a sharp condition race trainer who spots horses well, and a 4-1 price on a Sacco entry in a maiden claimer should not be dismissed. Gil has been active and effective at the meet.

Secondary Choices

Rebel Prince (Post 8), trained by Lynn Ashby and ridden by Jose Vargas, opens at 5-1. Ashby also runs Legend's Thunder (Post 9) in this race, making this a two-horse stable entry. REBEL PRINCE at 5-1 is likely the preferred runner. The eight post in a turf route is manageable, and Vargas is a capable jockey.

Thirsted (Post 3), trained by Michael Simone and ridden by Samuel Marin, opens at 6-1. Simone is active on today's card with multiple horses, and this turf entry at 6-1 is worth a look. The three post is ideal for saving ground on the turf.

Longshots

Capitaine (Post 7), trained by Cathal Lynch and ridden by D.E. Centeno, opens at 8-1. Lynch occasionally drops horses into maiden claimers with a winning angle, particularly when switching to turf. Worth keeping in mind if Lynch has sharpened this one at home.

Galatown Guy (Post 6), trained by M.L. Catalano Jr. and ridden by Ajhari Williams, opens at 10-1. Catalano has runners today in other races as well. At 10-1, GALATOWN GUY is a long shot inclusion in wide trifectas only.

Power By Eight (Post 1), trained by Pedro Nazario and ridden by Paul Luna, opens at 20-1. The rail in a turf route has its merits for ground saving, but the 20-1 morning line says this one is unlikely to factor.

Candy A. P. (Post 4), trained by Jose Ramirez and ridden by Teresa Salazar, opens at 20-1. An extreme longshot in a race where the favorite has a clear edge.

Legend's Thunder (Post 9), trained by Lynn Ashby and ridden by Jose Batista, opens at 20-1. As the second Ashby entry, this is clearly the barn's secondary runner. The outside post in a turf route adds difficulty.

Selections

Win: Win Street (Post 2) Place: Sun's Arising (Post 5) Show: Thirsted (Post 3)

Betting Strategy: Win Street (Post 2) at 1-1 offers minimal win value, but Trombetta dropping a horse into maiden claiming on the turf with Lopez aboard is a pattern worth following. The real money play is in the exacta using Win Street (Post 2) over Sun's Arising (Post 5), Thirsted (Post 3), and Rebel Prince (Post 8). A $1 trifecta key of Win Street (Post 2) over those three prices represents the best value structure in this race.

RACE 5 — Post (2:28) — 1320f | D | C | Clm 10000b | BUN | Purse $21,000

A six-furlong dirt sprint at $10,000 claiming, with eleven runners creating one of the deeper fields of the day. This is a challenging race to handicap given the field size, but the morning line points to Cyberbeast (Post 5) as the slight favorite.

Race 5

Pace Analysis

Eleven horses going six furlongs on dirt at Delaware is an extremely competitive setup. The early pace in this race will almost certainly be contentious, with multiple horses wanting to establish early position. Cyberbeast (Post 5) at 3-1 and Risk Factor (Post 4) at 4-1 are the market leaders, and pace pressure from any number of speed horses in this field could set up a pace meltdown. Closers get a legitimate look in an eleven-horse sprint where the early fractions can be fast.

Key Contenders

Cyberbeast (Post 5), trained by Victor Carrasco Jr. and ridden by D.E. Centeno, opens as the 3-1 morning line favorite. Carrasco Jr. is active at the meet and Centeno is a smart jockey who can navigate large fields. The five post is ideal in a sprint for making an early move to secure position. CYBERBEAST is the horse to beat if the pace sets up in their favor.

Risk Factor (Post 4), trained by Pedro Nazario and ridden by Pascacio Lopez, opens at 4-1. Nazario has multiple horses today across several races, but placing a horse with Lopez in a competitive sprint at 4-1 suggests this is one of the barn's primary win efforts of the day. The four post is excellent, and Lopez will have RISK FACTOR ideally placed.

Secondary Choices

Protege (Post 1), trained by M.L. Catalano Jr. and ridden by Samuel Marin, opens at 6-1. The rail in a sprint is tricky in an eleven-horse field, but if PROTEGE breaks cleanly and avoids trouble, this post can save ground throughout. Catalano is a capable trainer who spots horses well.

Spotted Bull (Post 2), trained by Robert Klesaris and ridden by Yedsit Hazlewood, opens at 8-1. The Klesaris barn is a respected presence at Delaware, and SPOTTED BULL at 8-1 offers legitimate value. The two post is excellent for a sprint.

Longshots

Megan's Honor (Post 3), trained by Michael Simone and ridden by Sara Hess, opens at 10-1. Simone is one of the more active trainers on the card today and this runner at 10-1 could outrun the price if conditions favor the middle of the field.

Capt. Candy (Post 7), trained by Donald Bryant and ridden by Ajhari Williams, opens at 10-1. Outside post in a large sprint field requires early energy to secure position. Speculative at best.

Guaio (Post 11), trained by Josue Arce and ridden by Angel Cruz, opens at 10-1. The outside post in an eleven-horse sprint is the most difficult draw on the card. GUAIO needs a complete pace collapse to be involved from Post 11.

Two Steppin Kluki (Post 9), trained by Paul Cudworth and ridden by Paul Luna, opens at 15-1. Luna has a full book today but this price reflects limited recent competitiveness.

God With Us (Post 6), trained by Alejandro Mendieta and ridden by Carol Cedeno, opens at 15-1. Mendieta runs multiple horses today; this is likely a developmental start.

He's Side Eyed (Post 8), trained by Mauricio Nunez and ridden by Marvin Fernandez, opens at 15-1. Difficult to recommend at this price.

Greyzer (Post 10), trained by Thomas Waltke Jr. and ridden by Jose Betancourt, opens at 12-1. The ten post in a large sprint field is very difficult to overcome.

Selections

Win: Cyberbeast (Post 5) Place: Risk Factor (Post 4) Show: Spotted Bull (Post 2)

Betting Strategy: This is a wide-open sprint that rewards trifecta players who go deep. Key Cyberbeast (Post 5) and Risk Factor (Post 4) on top while using Protege (Post 1), Spotted Bull (Post 2), and Megan's Honor (Post 3) underneath. A $0.50 trifecta box of the top two with a third from the value group can return solid numbers in an eleven-horse field. The Pick 3 connecting Races 4, 5, and 6 is worth constructing with Win Street (Post 2), Cyberbeast (Post 5), and a wide spread in Race 6.

RACE 6 — Post (3:00) — 1870f | T | S | Md Sp Wt | BOF | Purse $45,000

A maiden special weight event for fillies and mares, going one mile and seventy yards on the turf. This is one of the showcase races on the card and attracts the best trainer talent of the day, with H. Graham Motion sending out two horses, Michael Matz, Michael Stidham, and Miguel Clement all having entrants. The $45,000 purse reflects the quality of the field.

Race 6

Pace Analysis

Ten fillies at a turf route distance in maiden special weight company creates a tactical race where positioning off the pace is critical. Chartist (Post 9), trained by Miguel Clement and ridden by Mychel Sanchez, opens as the 2-1 favorite, suggesting the market has made a clear choice. Turf maiden specials often develop at a tempo that rewards horses with natural grass ability and clean late runs. The early pace will likely be modest, with the race truly beginning at the quarter pole.

Key Contenders

Chartist (Post 9), trained by Miguel Clement and ridden by Mychel Sanchez, opens as the 2-1 favorite. Clement is a highly respected conditioner who develops turf horses with care, and Sanchez is among the more polished riders on the East Coast circuit. From the nine post in a ten-horse field, CHARTIST will need to navigate the start carefully, but Sanchez is adept at finding room. The 2-1 morning line in a maiden special weight turf route for a Clement horse is a strong market signal.

The Jeweler (Post 8), trained by Brittany Russell and ridden by Sheldon Russell, opens at 4-1. The Russell combination as both trainer and jockey has shown a solid rate of success at Delaware Park and regional tracks. The eight post in a turf route is workable, and this runner at 4-1 represents a genuine alternative to the favorite.

Secondary Choices

Voluntary (Post 2), trained by Michael Matz and ridden by J. Pimentel, opens at 6-1. Matz is a Hall of Fame trainer who has won multiple Grade 1 races and is known as an exceptional developer of turf horses. The two post on the turf is perfect for ground saving, and VOLUNTARY at 6-1 with Matz conditioning represents outstanding value. This is the leading value play in the race.

Companion (Post 1), trained by H. Graham Motion and ridden by Kevin Gomez, opens at 8-1. Motion also runs Good Bytes (Post 7) in this race. COMPANION draws the rail, which on the turf is a significant positive. Motion is a Hall of Fame trainer and a specialist with turf horses. Gomez is a competent rider for this assignment.

Good Bytes (Post 7), trained by H. Graham Motion and ridden by Jorge Ruiz, opens at 8-1. This is Motion's second entry. At 8-1, this horse appears to be the barn's secondary choice based on the jockey assignments, with Gomez on Companion (Post 1).

Longshots

Girvana (Post 6), trained by Orlando Rose and ridden by Pascacio Lopez, opens at 8-1. Lopez is one of the busiest riders today and this is his fourth or fifth mount. GIRVANA at 8-1 in a maiden special weight turf race is worth a small investment given Lopez's meet form.

Blame And Fortune (Post 5), trained by Michael Stidham and ridden by Julio Hernandez, opens at 10-1. Stidham also has Benji Star (Post 5) in Race 7. A Stidham turf entrant at 10-1 should not be completely dismissed in a maiden special weight event.

Sister T (Post 10), trained by Kelly Lynn Deiter and ridden by Carol Cedeno, opens at 15-1. Deiter is active today and this runner in the outside post of the turf route is unlikely to factor at that price.

Kimmy Got Glasses (Post 3), trained by James Lee Lawrence and ridden by Martin Chuan, opens at 20-1. An extreme longshot in a high-quality maiden special weight.

Dutchman's Map (Post 4), trained by Jose Samaniego and ridden by Jose Vargas, opens at 20-1. The four post is fine on the turf but the odds reflect limited expectations.

Selections

Win: Chartist (Post 9) Place: Voluntary (Post 2) Show: The Jeweler (Post 8)

Betting Strategy: Voluntary (Post 2) at 6-1 with Michael Matz on the turf from the two post is the top value play on the card. A win bet on Voluntary (Post 2) alongside an exacta of Chartist (Post 9) over Voluntary (Post 2) and The Jeweler (Post 8) is the primary structure. Also consider using Companion (Post 1) in the trifecta underneath, as both Motion horses could factor. A trifecta key of Chartist (Post 9) over Voluntary (Post 2) and The Jeweler (Post 8) over Companion (Post 1) and Good Bytes (Post 7) is the full recommended structure.

RACE 7 — Post (3:32) — 1320f | D | A | Alw 46000n1x | BUN | Purse $46,000

The top non-graded allowance race on the card, a six-furlong dirt sprint at the $46,000 purse level for horses that have not won once other than maiden or claiming. Six horses go to post, with Pride's Prince (Post 3) and Eastbostonbenny (Post 4) co-favored at 2-1.

Race 7

Pace Analysis

Six horses in an allowance sprint creates a competitive tactical scenario. Two co-favorites from adjacent posts sets up a potential speed duel if both horses want the lead. Fear Nothing (Post 2) at 4-1 could be a stalker that benefits from a contested early pace. With six horses and two likely sharing favoritism, the race could be a genuine test of quality. Clean trips from inside posts and a moderate early tempo would set up horses with the best closing kick.

Key Contenders

Pride's Prince (Post 3), trained by Greg Compton and ridden by Pascacio Lopez, opens as a 2-1 co-favorite. Compton also trained Patton's Tizzy (Post 8) in Race 3, and Lopez continues his heavy book today. The three post is excellent in a sprint, and with Lopez in the saddle, PRIDE'S PRINCE will get every opportunity to show. Compton's meet record is solid and this horse appears to be the conditioner's top entry of the day.

Eastbostonbenny (Post 4), trained by Steve Klesaris and ridden by Jorge Ruiz, opens as a 2-1 co-favorite. Steve Klesaris runs Spotted Bull (Post 2) in Race 5 today as well. EASTBOSTONBENNY from the four post with Ruiz aboard is a serious threat. Adjacent posts and co-favoritism suggests a tight race between these two runners.

Secondary Choices

Fear Nothing (Post 2), trained by Hamilton Smith and ridden by Jose Vargas, opens at 4-1. Smith is a respected Delaware area trainer and FEAR NOTHING in the two post with Vargas offers a solid stalking position. If the pace becomes heated between the co-favorites, FEAR NOTHING could be the beneficiary. A legitimate value play at 4-1.

Benji Star (Post 5), trained by Michael Stidham and ridden by Julio Hernandez, opens at 6-1. Stidham also has Blame And Fortune (Post 5) in Race 6 and is an active barn in the mid-Atlantic region. BENJI STAR at 6-1 in allowance company with Hernandez aboard is worth consideration.

Longshots

Pilote Comete (Post 1), trained by Ben Perkins Jr. and ridden by Jose Batista, opens at 8-1. Perkins Jr. also has Wyoming Class (Post 2) in Race 8. The rail in a sprint can provide a clean trip if the horse breaks well, and at 8-1 this is worth keeping in trifecta tickets.

Nomowineforyou (Post 6), trained by Michael Pino and ridden by Samuel Marin, opens at 8-1. The outside post in a six-horse sprint is less punishing than in a full field. NOMOWINEFORYOU at 8-1 deserves a minor trifecta inclusion if the pace collapse scenario develops.

Selections

Win: Pride's Prince (Post 3) Place: Eastbostonbenny (Post 4) Show: Fear Nothing (Post 2)

Betting Strategy: The co-favorites at 2-1 present limited win value, but an exacta of Pride's Prince (Post 3) over Eastbostonbenny (Post 4) and vice versa is the primary bet. A $2 exacta box of the two co-favorites is the baseline, with Fear Nothing (Post 2) and Benji Star (Post 5) added as secondary runners in trifecta combinations. If either co-favorite drifts above 5-2 at post time, a straight win bet becomes more attractive.

RACE 8 — Post (4:04) — 1870f | T | CO | OClm 40000 | BUN | Purse $32,000

An optional claiming race at $40,000 for horses going one mile and seventy yards on the turf. The field of nine includes a strong morning line favorite in Understudy Kitty (Post 9) at 2-1, trained by Michael Matz, who also runs Voluntary (Post 2) in Race 6. This is one of the more competitive races on the card from a quality standpoint.

Race 8

Pace Analysis

A nine-horse turf route at the optional claiming level will develop at a typical moderate pace, with horses jockeying for position along the turf course rail through the early fractions. Wyoming Class (Post 2) and Malibu Mambo (Post 1) figure as early speed threats. Understudy Kitty (Post 9) from the outside post will need to be handled carefully by Pimentel but Matz horses on the turf are rarely caught unprepared positionally. A steady, honest pace sets up for the best horse to win in the stretch.

Key Contenders

Understudy Kitty (Post 9), trained by Michael Matz and ridden by J. Pimentel, opens as the 2-1 favorite. Matz is at his best in turf route optional claiming races, and this is his prime horse of the afternoon. From the outside post in a nine-horse turf route, Pimentel will need to angle in and find a ground-saving position. At 2-1, this horse is likely correctly favored.

Wyoming Class (Post 2), trained by Ben Perkins Jr. and ridden by Jose Batista, opens at 2-1 as a co-favorite. Perkins Jr. also has Pilote Comete (Post 1) in Race 7. WYOMING CLASS from the two post in a turf route is ideally positioned for ground saving. At 2-1, this horse is a legitimate rival to the Matz entry.

Secondary Choices

Picture This (Post 7), trained by Steve Klesaris and ridden by Jose Batista, opens at 4-1. Note that Batista is also listed for Wyoming Class (Post 2), which suggests there may be a jockey change reported closer to post time for one of these runners — bettors should confirm final jockey assignments before wagering. Klesaris is a capable trainer in mid-level optional claimers and PICTURE THIS at 4-1 deserves consideration.

Crabs N Beer (Post 6), trained by Keri Brion and ridden by Martin Chuan, opens at 6-1. Brion is a productive Delaware-area trainer and CRABS N BEER from a good inside post at 6-1 is a genuine value proposition in a competitive turf route.

Longshots

Malibu Mambo (Post 1), trained by Martin Hinckson and ridden by Teshawn Hazelwood, opens at 3-1. The rail in a nine-horse turf route is ideal for ground saving, and this horse at 3-1 has enough market support to suggest it has a legitimate chance to be involved. Not quite favored but a live contender.

Ike's Gamble (Post 5), trained by Guadalupe Preciado and ridden by Pascacio Lopez, opens at 8-1. Lopez's heavy workload today continues here, but he is riding in excellent form at the meet. PRECIADO is a lesser-known trainer and IKE'S GAMBLE at 8-1 is a speculative inclusion.

J D Factor (Post 3), trained by Jamie Ness and ridden by Yedsit Hazlewood, opens at 8-1. Ness saddles multiple horses across the card today and this turf entry at 8-1 deserves consideration given Ness's overall meet numbers.

Classic Joke (Post 4), trained by Kelly Lynn Deiter and ridden by Charlie Marquez, opens at 15-1. Deiter has multiple horses today and this runner at 15-1 in an optional claiming turf race is a difficult case to make.

Street Rockin (Post 8), trained by Robert Werneth and ridden by Carol Cedeno, opens at 20-1. An extreme longshot and a pass in terms of direct win wagering.

Selections

Win: Understudy Kitty (Post 9) Place: Wyoming Class (Post 2) Show: Crabs N Beer (Post 6)

Betting Strategy: Confirm jockey assignments for Picture This (Post 7) and Wyoming Class (Post 2) before wagering given the apparent Batista conflict. An exacta of Understudy Kitty (Post 9) over Wyoming Class (Post 2) and Crabs N Beer (Post 6) is the primary structure. Malibu Mambo (Post 1) at 3-1 from the rail is a legitimate value alternative and should be included in trifecta tickets. A trifecta key of Understudy Kitty (Post 9) with Wyoming Class (Post 2) and Malibu Mambo (Post 1) underneath is the recommended structure.

RACE 9 — Post (4:36) — 1830f | D | C | Clm 10000b | BUM | Purse $21,000

The final race of the day is a one-mile and seventy-yard dirt claiming event for fillies and mares at $10,000. Six fillies and mares go to post, with Blue Fashion (Post 1) and The Feisty One (Post 6) co-favored at 2-1.

Race 9

Pace Analysis

A six-horse field at a route distance sets up as a more straightforward pace scenario than the earlier large fields. Two co-favorites opens the door for value in the exacta and trifecta if a secondary runner can outrun the morning line. The pace is likely to be steady rather than blazing, with the race developing as a stamina test into the stretch.

Key Contenders

Blue Fashion (Post 1), trained by Gregory Sacco and ridden by Samuel Marin, opens as a 2-1 co-favorite. Sacco is an active and respected trainer, and the rail in a one-mile route for a mare can be advantageous if she breaks cleanly. BLUE FASHION from the one post with Marin, who has been riding well at the meet, is a compelling favorite.

The Feisty One (Post 6), trained by Bruce Kravets and ridden by Julio Hernandez, opens as the other 2-1 co-favorite from the outside post. Kravets also ran Laughing Fit (Post 4) in Race 1 today. The outside post in a six-horse route is manageable, and Hernandez gives THE FEISTY ONE a capable pilot. Kravets is experienced in claiming routes at Delaware.

Secondary Choices

Lady Arwen (Post 3), trained by Jose Rodriguez and ridden by Edilberto Dominguez, opens at 4-1. Rodriguez also has Palace Revolt (Post 5) in Race 2 today. LADY ARWEN at 4-1 from a solid inside post is the main value play in the closing race. The three post at a route distance is excellent.

Classic Ballad (Post 4), trained by Michael Simone and ridden by Pascacio Lopez, opens at 6-1. Simone runs multiple horses today and this closing race entry with Lopez aboard at 6-1 is a legitimate alternative. Lopez is one of the most productive riders at the meet and a 6-1 Simone/Lopez combination should be respected. Note that if Lopez finishes Race 8 in time, he will connect to Race 9 as well, which speaks to his heavy workload but also confirms trainer confidence.

Longshots

Coal Mine (Post 2), trained by Freya Gerlach and ridden by Jose Mauricio, opens at 10-1. Gerlach is a lesser-known trainer at the Delaware meet and COAL MINE at 10-1 in a six-horse field is a difficult play.

C C Girl (Post 5), trained by Alejandro Mendieta and ridden by Sara Hess, opens at 10-1. Mendieta runs multiple horses throughout today's card and this closing race entry at 10-1 is a pass in terms of direct win wagering.

Selections

Win: Blue Fashion (Post 1) Place: Lady Arwen (Post 3) Show: Classic Ballad (Post 4)

Betting Strategy: Two co-favorites at 2-1 in the finale sets up a typical closer scenario. An exacta box of Blue Fashion (Post 1) and The Feisty One (Post 6) will likely pay minimally, so the real value is using Lady Arwen (Post 3) and Classic Ballad (Post 4) in exacta and trifecta combinations beneath the favorites. A trifecta key of Blue Fashion (Post 1) over Lady Arwen (Post 3) and Classic Ballad (Post 4) over The Feisty One (Post 6) is the recommended structure at a low cost.

Jockey Notes and Insights

Pascacio Lopez is the most active rider on today's card, appearing in Races 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9. His volume speaks to his standing in the current Delaware colony, and his mounts for leading trainers like Ness, Trombetta, and Compton are notable. Lopez is riding in the form that has made him a top earner at the meet. When he is booked by quality trainers on live horses, he deserves premium consideration.

Samuel Marin rides in several races today and appears on strong barns including Sacco in Race 9 and Agostini in Race 3. His presence at the meet has been consistent and he handles both dirt and turf comfortably.

Kevin Gomez draws two mounts today, most notably Miti Fast Flower (Post 3) in Race 1 and Companion (Post 1) in Race 6 for H. Graham Motion. Gomez is a capable journeyman and the Motion assignment on the turf is significant.

Mychel Sanchez takes the key mount on Chartist (Post 9) in Race 6 for Miguel Clement. Sanchez is a seasoned East Coast rider who partners effectively with Clement, and his presence on the 2-1 favorite in the maiden special weight turf race is a strong signal.

Jose Batista rides multiple horses including Pierce Elevated (Post 4) in Race 3, Legend's Thunder (Post 9) in Race 4, and Pilote Comete (Post 1) in Race 7. His Race 8 booking for Picture This (Post 7) conflicts with the apparent Wyoming Class (Post 2) Batista listing — confirm the final assignments before wagering.

D.E. Centeno takes the call on Cyberbeast (Post 5) in Race 5 and Capitaine (Post 7) in Race 4. His book on the main track sprint favorite is his top opportunity of the day.

Trainer Notes and Insights

Pedro Nazario runs the most horses on today's card, with entrants in Races 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and others. Nazario is a high-volume trainer at Delaware, and his best plays today appear to be Gonzalo (Post 1) in Race 2 and Risk Factor (Post 4) in Race 5, where he has placed strong jockey assignments. Trainers running many horses on a single card are sometimes managing a stable at various levels of readiness, so focusing on the horses with the most significant jockey bookings is the best approach with a Nazario stable.

Jamie Ness saddles horses in Races 1, 3, and 8, including the co-favorite Principia (Post 5) in Race 1 and Majestic Tiger (Post 3) in Race 3. Ness has been among the top trainers at Delaware this meet in terms of win percentage and earnings, and both of those horses deserve top consideration. His turf entry J D Factor (Post 3) in Race 8 is a secondary play.

Michael Matz runs Voluntary (Post 2) in Race 6 and Understudy Kitty (Post 9) in Race 8. Matz on the turf, particularly in route races, is one of the highest-percentage trainer situations in mid-Atlantic racing. Both horses are in advantageous post positions, and Voluntary (Post 2) at 6-1 in the maiden special weight is the top trainer-based value play of the card.

H. Graham Motion runs two horses in Race 6, Companion (Post 1) and Good Bytes (Post 7). Motion on the turf in maiden special weight company is always dangerous, and the rail position of Companion (Post 1) is a specific advantage. The jockey assignments suggest Companion (Post 1) is the primary runner.

Michael Trombetta has Win Street (Post 2) in Race 4 as the even-money favorite. Trombetta is a sharp mid-Atlantic conditioner who connects at a high rate with maiden claimers, and this horse drawing the two post in a turf maiden event is a textbook setup.

Greg Compton runs Patton's Tizzy (Post 8) in Race 3 and Pride's Prince (Post 3) in Race 7. Both are morning line favorites or near-favorites, and Compton places horses well at Delaware in claiming and allowance conditions.

Michael Simone fields runners in Races 2, 4, 5, and 9. He is one of the more active claiming trainers on the card and Classic Ballad (Post 4) in Race 9 with Lopez at 6-1 is his most interesting angle of the day.

Best Wagering Strategies and Value Plays

The best value plays on this card can be organized around several key themes. First, trainer-based values on the turf are the primary source of overlay opportunity. Voluntary (Post 2) in Race 6 at 6-1 for Michael Matz from the two post is the single best value play on the card. Matz winning turf routes at Delaware with maiden filly entrants is a bankable angle, and 6-1 is a generous morning line for a horse of this profile.

The Race 6 maiden special weight turf event is also the deepest race on the card for exotic wagering. A trifecta combining Chartist (Post 9) as the key with Voluntary (Post 2), The Jeweler (Post 8), and Companion (Post 1) in various combinations can return excellent payouts in a competitive turf race where the pace will be modest and the surface favors horses with natural turf ability over horses with simply better recent form.

Race 5 with eleven horses at six furlongs is the trifecta race of the day. A $0.50 trifecta box of CYBERBEAST (Post 5), RISK FACTOR (Post 4), and SPOTTED BULL (Post 2) costs $3 and covers the three most logical finishers. Adding PROTEGE (Post 1) as a fourth horse at minimal additional cost broadens coverage in what will be a chaotic early pace scenario.

The Pick 5, if offered at Delaware Park on this card, is best constructed with the following approach: Race 5 through Race 9. Use Cyberbeast (Post 5) as a single in Race 5 to save cost, spread wide in Race 6 with Chartist (Post 9), Voluntary (Post 2), and The Jeweler (Post 8), use Win Street (Post 2) or Pride's Prince (Post 3) as a single in Race 7 depending on ticket budget, key Understudy Kitty (Post 9) in Race 8 with Wyoming Class (Post 2) and Crabs N Beer (Post 6) as savers, and finish with Blue Fashion (Post 1) singled or with Lady Arwen (Post 3) as a backup in Race 9. This structure provides coverage at a manageable cost.

The Race 7 allowance sprint offers a legitimate box exacta play. Pride's Prince (Post 3) and Eastbostonbenny (Post 4) at 2-1 each will produce a modest exacta payout, but adding Fear Nothing (Post 2) to the trifecta at 4-1 boosts the return meaningfully if the pace between the two favorites sets up a closing run.

Morning line odds across the card suggest that Races 4 and 9 have the most vulnerable favorites. Win Street (Post 2) at even money in Race 4 is legitimately favored, but Thirsted (Post 3) at 6-1 with Simone and Marin in a turf maiden claimer represents a competitive price if Win Street (Post 2) shows any grass inexperience. In Race 9, the co-favorites at 2-1 each means any exacta combination returns well below standard, and Lady Arwen (Post 3) at 4-1 is a strong play to use against both of them in multi-race sequences.

The most actionable single-race plays of the day are Voluntary (Post 2) to win in Race 6 at 6-1 and Fear Nothing (Post 2) to place in Race 7 at 4-1 as an exacta saver beneath the co-favorites. Both offer genuine value relative to their morning line positions.
