Charles Town Races — April 18, 2026 Quick Reference

Fast track expected under cool, partly cloudy skies. Speed and pace-pressers favored on the tight oval; inside posts carry premium value in routes.

Race 1

Tierra Santa (4) gets a clean look at the early pace from a favorable draw. Collegeville Queen (3) is the equal threat at the same price. Girl Zero (6) at 4-1 is the value saver if the two co-favorites duel early.

Race 2

Flight Level (5) is a must-use single — the barn and rider combination here is too strong to dismiss at any price. Great Fiber (7) is the logical second choice from the outside. Carolina Nights (6) at 6-1 is the only other horse worth including in exotics.

Race 3

Yankee Doodle Kid (2) holds the best post position angle in a Charles Town route and gets a sharp tactical rider. Lord Of Cork (5) is the equal morning-line threat. Social Chic (7) at 6-1 from a powerful barn is the trifecta saver.

Race 4

Pleasenthanku (3) is the dominant force and worth singling in horizontal sequences despite the short price. Moonlit Notion (5) is the only credible alternative. Trifecta spreads should extend to Dorado (4) and No Time To Boogie (1) in third.

Race 5

Cowboy Magic (1) at 4-1 is the top value play of the card — a high-percentage barn in a maiden sprint at a fair price against a beatable 1-1 chalk. Charlienite (6) remains in secondary exotic positions. Intention To Zip (5) at 4-1 rounds out the trifecta.

Race 6

Rick'swarmheart (1) with the rail in a long route is the strongest pace-positional edge on the entire card. Ascendance (2) is the primary closer to beat. Include Head Lad (5) and Sisyphus (8) in trifectas given the two-barn complexity.

Race 7

Great Ending (7) at 3-1 is the recommended win play — opposing back-to-back 1-1 shots from the same barn in consecutive maiden races is a legitimate angle. My Max (4) stays in secondary positions as a saver. Camp Crystal Lake (3) at 5-1 is the trifecta fill.

Race 8

Duncan Idaho (8) is the feature single — the dominant barn's primary stakes runner is too formidable to oppose outright. Pork Chop Pete (3) and Time To Rock (5) are both live at 4-1 and belong in all exotic structures. Honeyquist (4) at 6-1 is the trifecta saver.

Race 9

Mor D'oro (7) at 3-1 is the closing value play with a high-percentage rider closing out a strong night. T Rex Union (3) is the Runco favorite to beat and belongs in the reverse exacta. Gimme A Holler (5) and Just A Wizard (6) are the trifecta fill options.
