Track Surface & Bias

The dirt track should range from fast to good, depending on any daytime shower activity and how quickly the cushion dries. Thistledown's main track typically favors forwardly placed runners, particularly front-runners and pace-pressing stalkers; inside and inside-middle posts can provide an efficiency advantage, especially in sprints. If moisture softens the surface, the best path may shift slightly off the rail, while closers generally require a contested pace or tiring footing to gain a meaningful advantage.

Handicapper’s Edge
