Race Day Overview — Retama Park, Friday, July 24, 2026

Retama Park rolls out an eleven-race card on Friday evening featuring a loaded stakes program anchored by three graded events. The card opens with a pair of short-distance maiden sprints before building toward the feature stakes races that dominate Races 6 through 11. The stakes action is headlined by the Grade 2 contest at 870 furlongs in Race 9, a Grade 3 at 550 furlongs in Race 10, and the card-capping Grade 2 at 400 furlongs in Race 11. Combined purse money on the stakes races alone exceeds $246,000, making this one of the more significant Friday programs Retama has offered this summer.

The early races feature maiden claimers and maiden special weights across short distances, with several multi-entry trainer stables having horses entered in different races throughout the card. Trainer Jose Luis Sanchez III fields two horses in Race 2, while John A. Stinebaugh and Shae L. Cox each have multiple horses entered across the stakes races. The Rodriguez Martin barn is particularly active with two horses in Race 6 and one in Race 7, which will draw sharp attention to post time odds movement.

Post times are listed in four time zones, with the first race going at 7:45 PM ET / 6:45 PM CT / 5:45 PM MT / 4:45 PM PT.

Weather and Track Conditions — Retama Park, July 24, 2026

San Antonio in late July is characteristically hot and humid, and this Friday evening is no exception. Temperatures at post time for Race 1 are expected to be in the low-to-mid 90s Fahrenheit with humidity levels making the heat index feel closer to 100 degrees. South Texas summer afternoons frequently bring brief but intense thunderstorm activity, and there is a chance of scattered late-afternoon storms that could affect the track surface heading into the evening card. If any precipitation hits the San Antonio area in the hours before racing, expect the Retama oval to play somewhat sealed and fast on top with potentially deeper footing underneath, a condition that can favor early speed horses who get clean runs near the inside.

Assuming the track remains fast and dry throughout the evening, Retama's main track has traditionally rewarded horses that can secure good early position. The 330-foot and 300-foot sprints that dominate the early card are essentially dead-flat straight dashes where the break is paramount. A dry, firm track surface will compress times and reward the sharpest breakers regardless of post position in those ultra-short distances.

Track Bias and Post Position Analysis — Retama Park

Retama Park's short-distance sprint races, particularly those at 250 feet, 300 feet, and 330 feet, have historically shown minimal post position bias because the races are essentially run in a straight line from gate to wire. In these distances, the break is the single most important factor, and post position advantages are largely negated by the pure speed of the individual horse and the alertness of the jockey in the gate.

At 400 feet and beyond, the track's layout allows for slightly more differentiation. Inside posts at Retama can be advantageous when the track is playing fast because horses can get to the rail and save ground. However, in a full field of ten or more horses, inside posts at 400 feet can occasionally see traffic if the field bunches early. Mid-post positions, particularly Posts 4 through 7, tend to be the sweet spot in most quarter-horse sprints at Retama at the 400-foot distance, offering clean running lanes without being forced to either save ground or wide.

In the marathon race at 870 furlongs in Race 9, post position carries more weight as horses must negotiate turns. Inside posts at Retama's longer distances have traditionally held a slight advantage, giving the nod to Fire Bolt B (POST 1) and Thrill And Fury (POST 2) from a post perspective alone, though class and ability ultimately trump position at any distance.

The 550-foot Race 10 is a straight sprint at a distance where early speed is critical, and Posts 1 through 5 have historically fared well at Retama in that configuration. Top Cowboy (POST 9) will need to break sharply from the outside post to overcome any potential disadvantage.

RACE 1 — Post 7:45 (6:45/5:45/4:45) — 330f | D | S | Md Sp Wt | AOF | Purse $14,100

Pace Analysis

With ten fillies going 330 feet in a maiden special weight dash, this race is a pure gate-to-wire affair. Every horse in the field wants to be in front, and the pace will be blistering from the outset. At 330 feet, there is no pace scenario to analyze in the traditional sense — the horse that breaks the fastest and runs the fastest typically wins. The key factors are gate speed, out-of-chute acceleration, and the ability to maintain maximum velocity through the wire.

Key Contenders

Lethal Monday (POST 7) is the morning line favorite at 2-1 and deserves that respect. Trained by Sergio Luis Lira and piloted by Hernandez H. Javier, this filly has the credentials to justify favoritism in a maiden sprint. Lira is a capable handler at the Texas quarter-horse level, and Hernandez has been one of the more reliable jockeys on the Retama circuit. The 2-1 price will compress further at post time as public money floods in, so value seekers should look elsewhere.

Jess Perrys Cowgirl (POST 4) at 4-1 is trained by Christophe Earlywine and ridden by Luis L. Vivanco. Earlywine is a competent trainer for short sprints, and Vivanco has shown consistent ability to get horses out of the gate cleanly. The 4-1 morning line represents fair value if the filly can break on terms.

Rio Shacarri (POST 6) at 4-1 is co-favorited by the morning line and trained by Jose Luis Sanchez III. Sanchez is one of the more active trainers on the card tonight with multiple horses, suggesting confidence in his stable's current form.

Secondary Choices

Donax (POST 9) at 5-1 is trained by John A. Stinebaugh, who has multiple horses entered on the card and clearly has his barn in good form. Gilberto Linares gets the mount. At 5-1, Donax represents solid value if the Stinebaugh barn's overall form is as sharp as the number of entries suggests.

Apollitical Racey (POST 10) at 10-1 trained by Jacobo Mejia with Rigoberto Camarillo Ortega up is an interesting outside post runner who will need a perfect break to overcome the wide post in a 330-foot dash.

Longshots

Sensational Sinner (POST 1) at 12-1 with trainer Mario J. Loza and jockey Aniceto Gomez breaks from the rail, which in a 330-foot straight dash is a neutral-to-slight advantage. Longshot players may find mild interest here if there is workout evidence of a sharp gate.

Anaheim (POST 5) at 12-1 is trained by Gilberto Gonzalez and ridden by Jose R. Herbert. Gonzalez sends out multiple horses across the card tonight, though Anaheim appears to be a second-tier entry in his stable.

Jv Pyc Kisses (POST 2) at 15-1 with trainer Jesus M. Raygoza and Diego Contreras up is a pure longshot who would need things to go perfectly to factor.

La Enedina Arellano (POST 8) at 15-1 trained by Martin Rodriguez with Victor Manuel Urieta Jr. up is another longshot whose wide post in a sprint of this distance makes the task even more challenging.

Flying Hocks Db (POST 3) at 20-1 with trainer Richard D. Sedillo and jockey Rosendo E. Pina Garcia is an extreme longshot with prohibitive odds that reflect limited competitive expectation.

Selections

Win: Lethal Monday (POST 7) Place: Jess Perrys Cowgirl (POST 4) Show: Donax (POST 9)

Betting Strategy

Single Lethal Monday (POST 7) on top of a trifecta key using Jess Perrys Cowgirl (POST 4), Rio Shacarri (POST 6), and Donax (POST 9) underneath. The race is a coin flip at this distance between several evenly matched fillies, so exotic players should use wide trifecta coverage. The superfecta at this distance, with ten horses, could pay handsomely if a longer shot like Apollitical Racey (POST 10) or Sensational Sinner (POST 1) sneaks into the bottom.

RACE 2 — Post 8:15 (7:15/6:15/5:15) — 300f | D | C | Clm 20000n2l | AON | Purse $12,600

Pace Analysis

At 300 feet for non-winners of two lifetime in a claiming contest, the gate speed dynamic is even more compressed than Race 1. This is about as pure a speed test as exists in quarter-horse racing. Pace analysis defaults entirely to who breaks fastest and who has demonstrated the highest out-of-gate velocity in past performances.

Key Contenders

Runaway Galilea (POST 2) at 4-1 trained by Jose Luis Sanchez III with Claudio Ponce Aguilar aboard is interesting given Sanchez already has Rio Shacarri (POST 6) in Race 1 showing his barn has quality fillies on the grounds. A barn that has multiple entries across the card on a given night often has horses ready to fire.

Lg Barbie (POST 4) at 4-1 is trained by Gilberto Gonzalez and ridden by Alejandro Medina. Gonzalez also trains Anaheim (POST 5) in Race 1 and Fancy Goes West (POST 10) in Race 4 and Xpozay (POST 8) in Race 5, indicating a full and active barn. LG BARBIE may be the most likely winner in the Gonzalez string based on morning line positioning.

Rr Ranch Hand (POST 10) at 5-1 trained by Nestor Santana Jr. and ridden by Ali Rivera carries a respectable morning line from the outside post. In a 300-foot dash, the outside post is not the liability it would be in a longer race, but a perfect break is essential.

Secondary Choices

Givemeonemorereason (POST 9) at 6-1 with trainer Juan Isidro Cantu and jockey Gilberto Linares offers value at the price. Cantu also trains Apollitical Lelo (POST 12) in Race 7, and Linares is one of the busier jockeys on the card tonight, indicating confidence in his mounts.

Runninforthebrand (POST 7) at 8-1 is the second Sanchez III entry in this race, creating a potential barn-split situation. When a trainer enters two horses in the same race, the one with the more experienced or higher-profile jockey often has the edge. Vivanco aboard Runninforthebrand (POST 7) versus Aguilar on Runaway Galilea (POST 2) is a close call, and bettors should factor in which horse Sanchez is actually trying to win with.

Abyde By The Train (POST 8) at 8-1 with Jose U. Lopez as trainer and Aniceto Gomez riding is a horse that should not be dismissed at the price in a 300-foot claiming contest.

Longshots

Our Secret Baby (POST 3) at 10-1 with trainer Adan Guzman and Noe Villatoro up is a longshot that could surface if the gate breaks in her favor. Guzman trains multiple horses across the card.

Pink Jett (POST 5) at 10-1 with Braulio Hernandez training and Oliver E. Martinez up is another double-digit outsider in a competitive field.

She Him Watters (POST 6) at 15-1 with Francisco Perez Jr. training and Raul Padilla Hernandez Jr. riding is at the extreme end of the field's competitive spectrum.

Dangit Frank (POST 1) at 12-1 with Mario J. Loza and Olvin Josue Martinez deserves mention as the inside post runner, though 12-1 reflects limited expectations from the morning line maker.

Selections

Win: Lg Barbie (POST 4) Place: Runaway Galilea (POST 2) Show: Givemeonemorereason (POST 9)

Betting Strategy

Box Runaway Galilea (POST 2), Lg Barbie (POST 4), and Rr Ranch Hand (POST 10) in a trifecta for a three-horse box, while also keying Lg Barbie (POST 4) on top over those two in a straight trifecta for a higher return. Use Givemeonemorereason (POST 9) as a fourth horse in the superfecta bottom position.

RACE 3 — Post 8:42 (7:42/6:42/5:42) — 400f | D | M | Md 10000 | GON | Purse $9,100

Pace Analysis

A 400-foot maiden claimer for geldings is typically a race where early speed still dominates, but class concerns at the $10,000 claiming level mean the quality of the break and the ability to sustain speed through 400 feet matters. At this distance, horses that have shown any kind of consistent speed index in prior races will have a significant advantage over debut horses or those returning from layoffs.

Key Contenders

Heza Vicious Rogue (POST 7) is the morning line favorite at 2-1, trained by Shae L. Cox with Claudio Ponce Aguilar riding. Cox is a proven trainer with multiple horses on the card in both Race 7 and Race 9, and the 2-1 morning line in a competitive maiden claimer is a statement of confidence. Aguilar has been a reliable presence on the Retama circuit and will be called upon for major rides tonight.

Lil Baby D (POST 4) at 4-1 with trainer Adan Guzman and Noe Villatoro up is co-favored in the field. Guzman also trains Our Secret Baby (POST 3) in Race 2 and Eye Will Decide (POST 3) in Race 9, showing an active and well-stocked barn. LIL BABY D at 4-1 is worth serious consideration.

Vanish Thru The Fire (POST 8) at 4-1 with Janessa Lee Muniz training and Ruben Delarosa Jr. riding is another co-favorite at the morning line, creating a wide-open race at the top of the odds board. Muniz is also training No Faux (POST 7) in Race 10.

Secondary Choices

Cartelito Pool (POST 3) at 8-1 with trainer Isidro Hinojosa and Victor Manuel Urieta Jr. up is a horse that deserves respect in a wide-open field at this claiming level. Urieta is one of the top riders on this card with multiple mounts.

Kinetik (POST 1) at 5-1 trained by Ignacio Bustamante with Hernandez H. Javier riding is a legitimate inside-post speed horse. Bustamante also trains Political Assasin (POST 12) in Race 8, and Javier Hernandez is one of the key jockeys tonight. The 5-1 morning line offers fair value from the gate.

Longshots

Thrills N Spills (POST 9) at 12-1 with Steven Salazar training and Manuel Lara riding is a double-digit longshot who could surface in a competitive maiden claimer.

Sun River (POST 10) at 12-1 with trainer Ricardo Aguirre and Francisco Calderon is a horse trained by the same conditioner who enters Wise Filly (POST 1) in Race 6 and Sign Of A Jet (POST 3) in Race 11.

Be The Answer (POST 6) at 15-1 with Carlos Lopez training and Eliazar T. Vera is at the long end of the morning line. Lopez also trains Sanremo (POST 9) in Race 4.

Miss Laurinburg (POST 5) at 30-1 with trainer Kie Mushinski and Luis L. Vivanco is an extreme longshot whose odds suggest significant competitive disadvantage.

Haleys Fast Dollor (POST 2) at 30-1 with Manuel Flores training and Aniceto Gomez is another extreme outsider who would need extraordinary circumstances to factor.

Selections

Win: Heza Vicious Rogue (POST 7) Place: Lil Baby D (POST 4) Show: Kinetik (POST 1)

Betting Strategy

Key Heza Vicious Rogue (POST 7) on top in trifectas with Lil Baby D (POST 4), Vanish Thru The Fire (POST 8), and Kinetik (POST 1) in the second and third spots. The 2-1 favorite will dampen win payoffs, so trifectas and exactas offer the best return structure. A $1 exacta box of the top four is a sensible low-risk approach.

RACE 4 — Post 9:09 (8:09/7:09/6:09) — 330f | D | M | Md 15000 | AON | Purse $9,600

Pace Analysis

A 330-foot maiden claimer for all ages with a $15,000 claiming price is a step up from Race 3 in theory, though the “all ages” condition opens the field to a range of experience levels. Gate speed and break quality remain the primary determinants. The $15,000 claiming tag is modest enough that class differentiation is minimal, and the race will likely come down to which horse fires out of the gate with the most authority.

Key Contenders

Rocket Temptation (POST 5) is the heavy morning line favorite at 2-1, trained by Marc E. Jungers with Lucas Constantin riding. Jungers is one of the more prominent trainers on the card tonight with Baby Ruth (POST 1) in Race 7, Master Reigns (POST 5) in Race 9, and Top Cowboy (POST 9) in Race 10. When Jungers brings a horse in as the heavy morning line favorite in a maiden claimer, it demands respect.

Lickadee Split (POST 7) at 4-1 with Marcelo Reyes Jr. training and Luis L. Vivanco aboard is a legitimate contender. Reyes Jr. also trains Favorite Blood (POST 1) in Race 5 and Mexican Runnaway (POST 8) in Race 6.

Secondary Choices

Jh Apolitical (POST 3) at 5-1 with trainer Jacobo Mejia and Rigoberto Camarillo Ortega riding is a horse that carries the Apolitical bloodline, a name associated with quality quarter-horse breeding. Mejia also trains Apollitical Racey (POST 10) in Race 1, and any horse carrying the Apolitical pedigree in the name deserves a second look.

Cinderella Watters (POST 1) at 6-1 trained by Francisco Perez Jr. with Raul Padilla Hernandez Jr. is from the same barn that enters Shot Of Takillya (POST 4) in Race 7 and Celena Olena (POST 1) in Race 8. Perez Jr. is active across the card, and CINDERELLA WATTERS from the rail at 6-1 offers fair each-way value.

Longshots

Zenith Ztormi (POST 6) at 8-1 with Juan Johnny M. Hernandez training and Claudio Ponce Aguilar is a mid-odds runner who could factor if the break goes in her favor.

Sanremo (POST 9) at 12-1 with Carlos Lopez training and Ramirez Jr. Jr. up is a double-digit longshot. Lopez also trains Be The Answer (POST 6) in Race 3.

Lagway (POST 2) at 15-1 with Mario J. Loza training and Gilberto Linares is a significant longshot from an active barn.

Jess Call Me Hero (POST 8) at 20-1 with trainer Kie Mushinski and Eliazar T. Vera represents the Mushinski barn at an extreme morning line.

Fancy Goes West (POST 10) at 20-1 with Gilberto Gonzalez training and Alejandro Medina from the outside post faces a difficult task at this extreme price.

Favorite Tex N (POST 4) at 30-1 with Sergio Luis Lira training and Victor Manuel Urieta Jr. is an extreme outsider despite carrying the Lira barn colors.

Selections

Win: Rocket Temptation (POST 5) Place: Lickadee Split (POST 7) Show: Jh Apolitical (POST 3)

Betting Strategy

Rocket Temptation (POST 5) looks like a legitimate short-price win bet that may not offer great value at likely 3-2 or lower. Consider pairing Rocket Temptation (POST 5) over Lickadee Split (POST 7) and Jh Apolitical (POST 3) in an exacta wheel to generate better returns. If Cinderella Watters (POST 1) is live at 6-1, she deserves inclusion in trifecta coverage as a third-place finisher.

RACE 5 — Post 9:36 (8:36/7:36/6:36) — 330f | D | S | Md Sp Wt | AOC | Purse $14,100

Pace Analysis

This maiden special weight at 330 feet for colts and geldings with an optional claiming condition is the most competitive of the early card sprints. At 330 feet in a maiden sprint, the gate break is everything. The morning line shows a compressed odds board, with Rc Said Cap Em (POST 10) at 2-1 and three horses co-favorited at 4-1, indicating the morning line maker sees genuine competitive equity across the top tier.

Key Contenders

Rc Said Cap Em (POST 10) at 2-1 trained by J.W. Plunkett with Eliazar T. Vera represents the heavy morning line favorite despite starting from the outside post in a 330-foot sprint. In this distance, the outside post is not a significant disadvantage when a horse has demonstrated superior speed, and Plunkett's confidence in putting this horse in as a 2-1 favorite from Post 10 suggests legitimate ability.

Moneyy On My Mind (POST 2) at 4-1 trained by Jose Ivan Martinez and ridden by Ali Rivera gets a favorable inside post draw in what figures to be a fast and competitive sprint. The 4-1 morning line is fair value in a field where the 2-1 favorite may be beatable.

Bv Hit The Road Jack (POST 7) at 4-1 trained by Mario J. Loza and ridden by Victor Manuel Urieta Jr. is from the same barn that starts Sensational Sinner (POST 1) in Race 1 and Lagway (POST 2) in Race 4. BV HIT THE ROAD JACK represents the Loza barn's prime entry in Race 5.

Teller Looks Mrl (POST 4) at 4-1 with John A. Stinebaugh training and Gilberto Linares is a co-favorite from a barn that is well-represented on tonight's card. Stinebaugh's presence in both the maiden races and the stakes races suggests a barn at peak operation.

Secondary Choices

The Landman (POST 3) at 6-1 with trainer Brian Stroud and Jose R. Herbert up is an interesting price horse. Stroud also trains Fdd El Jefe (POST 1) in Race 11, and Herbert rides multiple horses on the card.

The Real Mvp Z (POST 9) at 15-1 trained by Marc E. Jungers with Luis L. Vivanco is a double-digit price from the powerful Jungers barn. Given Jungers has multiple favorites across the card, THE REAL MVP Z at 15-1 may represent value if the barn is particularly hot.

Longshots

Favorite Blood (POST 1) at 12-1 with Marcelo Reyes Jr. and Angel A. Fierro from the rail offers longshot appeal from an inside post.

El Mano Negro (POST 5) at 20-1 with Marcus B. Arenivas training and Raul Padilla Hernandez Jr. is a significant longshot in a competitive field.

Bulett (POST 6) at 20-1 trained by Raul Ramirez with Oliver E. Martinez up is another extreme outside longshot.

Xpozay (POST 8) at 50-1 with Gilberto Gonzalez training and Alejandro Medina is the longest morning line price on the card in Race 5 and essentially has no realistic win expectation at those odds in a competitive maiden sprint.

Selections

Win: Rc Said Cap Em (POST 10) Place: Teller Looks Mrl (POST 4) Show: Moneyy On My Mind (POST 2)

Betting Strategy

Rc Said Cap Em (POST 10) from the outside post in a 330-foot sprint requires a clean, explosive break to overcome post position, but the 2-1 morning line implies the horse has demonstrated this ability. A win bet on Rc Said Cap Em (POST 10) combined with an exacta using Teller Looks Mrl (POST 4) and Moneyy On My Mind (POST 2) underneath is the recommended approach. Use Bv Hit The Road Jack (POST 7) and The Landman (POST 3) in trifecta coverage.

RACE 6 — Post 10:03 (9:03/8:03/7:03) — 350f | D | N | Stk 32k | BUN | Purse $32,000

Pace Analysis

The first stakes race of the evening at 350 feet for non-winners is a step up in quality from the early card. Note that there are gaps in the post positions, with no horses listed at Posts 2, 6, suggesting this is a ten-horse field with scratches or a specific draw arrangement. The field of nine at 350 feet will break from a straight chute, and early speed remains the primary weapon.

Key Contenders

Regal King (POST 9) at 3-1 is the morning line favorite, trained by Juan Ignacio Garcia and ridden by Luis Angel Maldonado. A 3-1 price in a stakes race at Retama suggests the morning line maker sees a clear top candidate, and Maldonado is a capable stakes rider at this level.

This Eagles Quirky (POST 10) at 4-1 trained by Isidro Mancillas-Lopez with Alejandro Landeros Zuniga up is a co-co-favorite with Wise Filly (POST 1) at 4-1. The “eagle” name connection suggests Quarter Horse breeding aligned with the Flying Eagle bloodline, a common marker for quality short-distance runners.

Wise Filly (POST 1) at 4-1 trained by Ricardo Aguirre with Francisco Calderon is an inside post runner in a race where the break from Post 1 in a 350-foot sprint can be advantageous. Aguirre has multiple horses on the card, and WISE FILLY appears to be his top entry.

Secondary Choices

Run Nellie Run (POST 3) at 5-1 is trained by Martin Rodriguez, who also enters Hellofaneagle (POST 7) in this same race at 12-1. Rodriguez is splitting his attention with two runners in Race 6, and RUN NELLIE RUN at 5-1 as the preferred Rodriguez entry is the more likely intended winner. Victor Manuel Urieta Jr. picks up the mount.

Zef Lucky Seis (POST 5) at 10-1 with Arturo Archundia Garcia training and Hernandez H. Javier riding is a double-digit price horse who could spring an upset in a stakes race at this level. Garcia also trains Th Rum Runner (POST 6) in Race 11.

Longshots

Hellofaneagle (POST 7) at 12-1 is Martin Rodriguez's second entry in this race, ridden by Luis L. Vivanco. With Rodriguez splitting his barn between Run Nellie Run (POST 3) and Hellofaneagle (POST 7), the stable jockey assignment often tells the story. Urieta Jr. on Run Nellie Run (POST 3) versus Vivanco on Hellofaneagle (POST 7) is worth analyzing for barn preference signals.

A High Spade (POST 11) at 12-1 trained by Jubenal Del Olmo-Rodriguez with Alejandro Landeros Zuniga up is an extreme outside post runner who would need an extraordinary break to overcome both the post position and the odds.

Vp Rocket Ryon (POST 4) at 15-1 with Zackery N. Rios training and Jose R. Herbert up is a double-digit outsider from a less prominent trainer-jockey combination at this level.

Mexican Runnaway (POST 8) at 30-1 trained by Marcelo Reyes Jr. with Angel A. Fierro is the extreme longshot at this stakes level. The 30-1 morning line reflects significant competitive disadvantage.

Selections

Win: Regal King (POST 9) Place: Wise Filly (POST 1) Show: This Eagles Quirky (POST 10)

Betting Strategy

The compressed odds at the top of this field (three horses at 4-1 or shorter) create an opportunity for trifecta wagering with wide coverage. Key Regal King (POST 9) on top with Wise Filly (POST 1), This Eagles Quirky (POST 10), and Run Nellie Run (POST 3) in the second and third spots. Include Zef Lucky Seis (POST 5) as a deep trifecta inclusion for a potentially significant payout.

RACE 7 — Post 10:30 (9:30/8:30/7:30) — 250f | D | N | Stk 52k | BUN | Purse $52,000

Pace Analysis

The 250-foot stakes race is the shortest distance on the card and the most pure gate test. Twelve horses will break in what amounts to a mass explosion of speed, and the result will be determined in the first two seconds of racing. Jockey alertness in the gate and horse quickness off the break are the only meaningful analytical factors. Class at this level is secondary to raw gate speed.

Key Contenders

Killin Time (POST 3) at 4-1 trained by Delbert McDowell and ridden by Victor Manuel Urieta Jr. is among the morning line co-favorites. McDowell also trains Whata Lota Boy (POST 5) in Race 10, and Urieta Jr. is one of the most active riders on the card tonight.

Fabulous Casina (POST 5) at 4-1 with Brittany N. Tellez training and Hernandez H. Javier riding is another co-favorite. Tellez also trains Thrill And Fury (POST 2) in Race 9 and Thrill And Fury (POST 1) in Race 10, making her one of the more interesting trainer angles on the card with a horse running in consecutive stakes races under slightly different conditions.

Jj Jessa Dynasty (POST 9) at 4-1 trained by Jose Carrizales and ridden by Randy Jr. Edison rounds out the three-way co-favorite grouping at 4-1 in a twelve-horse field at 250 feet.

Secondary Choices

Sheza A Whirlawaytoo (POST 2) at 5-1 with Eddie Taylor training and Ramirez Jr. Jr. is the fourth-best price in the field at morning line. The 5-1 price offers value against three co-favorites in what amounts to a deeply competitive short-sprint stakes.

Ima Chili (POST 10) at 8-1 trained by Zackery N. Rios with Jose R. Herbert up is a double-digit price horse whose trainer also has Vp Rocket Ryon (POST 4) in Race 6. Rios appears to be sending multiple horses out tonight with reasonable expectations.

Longshots

Baby Ruth (POST 1) at 10-1 trained by Marc E. Jungers with Edwin G. Escobedo riding from the inside post. Jungers has the most active stable on the card tonight with multiple entries, and BABY RUTH at 10-1 in a $52,000 stakes race could be a live long price if the barn is running hot.

Defives (POST 11) at 10-1 trained by Zackary Stinebaugh with Gilberto Linares riding. Note that this is a different Stinebaugh trainer (Zackary vs. John A.) on the card tonight.

Jess Louisiana Girl (POST 8) at 12-1 with trainer Victor G. Fierro and Claudio Ponce Aguilar up is a double-digit outsider who would need a flawless break from the inside-outside post range to factor.

Apollitical Lelo (POST 12) at 12-1 trained by Juan Isidro Cantu with Gilberto Linares up — note that Linares is listed as the jockey for both Defives (POST 11) and Apollitical Lelo (POST 12), which would require clarification. This may be an error in the program that resolves before post time, or one mount may have a change.

Shot Of Takillya (POST 4) at 15-1 with Francisco Perez Jr. training and Oliver E. Martinez is a double-digit outsider in what is a very competitive twelve-horse field.

Chieftainess (POST 7) at 20-1 with Martin Rodriguez training and Luis L. Vivanco is from the same barn fielding multiple runners on the card. At 20-1, CHIEFTAINESS is a deep longshot.

Lucky Larry (POST 6) at 30-1 with Carlos B. Sanchez training and Luis Angel Maldonado is the longest price in the field at morning line and figures to need a minor miracle to factor in a 250-foot stakes race.

Selections

Win: Killin Time (POST 3) Place: Fabulous Casina (POST 5) Show: Jj Jessa Dynasty (POST 9)

Betting Strategy

With three co-favorites at 4-1 and twelve horses at 250 feet, this race is a handicapper's nightmare and a trifecta player's dream in terms of potential payout. Box the three 4-1 co-favorites with Sheza A Whirlawaytoo (POST 2) in a four-horse trifecta box. The 250-foot nature of the race means a significant upset is entirely possible, so including Baby Ruth (POST 1) from the inside post in a superfecta at 10-1 could prove prescient.

RACE 8 — Post 10:57 (9:57/8:57/7:57) — 400f | D | N | Stk 50k | BUM | Purse $50,000

Pace Analysis

The $50,000 stakes race for males at 400 feet is the longest of the evening's stakes contests before Race 9. At 400 feet, pace becomes a more meaningful factor than in the ultra-short sprints, as horses must sustain their speed through a slightly longer stretch run. Early speed is still paramount, but horses that can accelerate through the second quarter of the race rather than fading have an advantage. The morning line shows Bludz Valiant Policy (POST 10) as a heavy 2-1 favorite in a twelve-horse field.

Key Contenders

Bludz Valiant Policy (POST 10) at 2-1 trained by Ben Olaveson with Luis L. Vivanco riding is the clear morning line favorite in the most competitive stakes race on the earlier portion of the card. Olaveson is not listed as a trainer for other horses on the card, which could indicate a sharp single-horse focus. The 2-1 price from Post 10 in a twelve-horse field at 400 feet will require a clean break and a direct path to the wire.

Celebratingtheeagle (POST 7) at 4-1 with Joseph D. Manucy training and Victor Manuel Urieta Jr. up is an eagle-pedigree runner at 4-1 who figures to be among the most serious challengers. Manucy also trains Liberater (POST 3) in Race 10.

Secondary Choices

Full Moon Desire (POST 3) at 5-1 trained by Heber Deyta-Melendez with Brian Cobos Barraza is a horse at fair value odds who could disrupt the top two horses in a $50,000 stakes race. Deyta-Melendez is a trainer with specific Quarter Horse expertise at this level.

Magic Apollitical (POST 4) at 6-1 with Rene Talamantes training and Rosendo E. Pina Garcia up carries the prominent Apollitical pedigree name, which is consistently associated with competitive Quarter Horses at this level. The 6-1 morning line offers genuine each-way value.

Lil Kool Marge (POST 8) at 8-1 trained by Esteban Rubio with Francisco Calderon riding is an 8-1 outsider who could outrun the price in a competitive field.

Longshots

Sloww Downn (POST 9) at 10-1 with Delbert McDowell training and Eliazar T. Vera is from a barn that has Killin Time (POST 3) as a co-favorite in Race 7, suggesting McDowell's primary focus may be on that race tonight.

Ruse Dynasty 123 (POST 2) at 12-1 with Bradley Bolen training and Jose R. Herbert is a double-digit outsider from a morning line that reflects limited competitive expectation.

Celena Olena (POST 1) at 12-1 with Francisco Perez Jr. training and Noe Villatoro from the inside rail post is a longshot whose trainer is active across multiple races tonight.

Dm Bella Star (POST 5) at 20-1 trained by Kie Mushinski with Claudio Ponce Aguilar is an extreme longshot from the Mushinski barn.

This Eagles A Leader (POST 6) at 20-1 trained by John A. Stinebaugh with Gilberto Linares is from the Stinebaugh barn that has multiple horses in the stakes races.

Flies Like An Eagle (POST 11) at 20-1 with John A. Stinebaugh training and Ali Rivera is a second Stinebaugh entry in Race 8. Having two 20-1 horses from the same barn in the same race suggests these may be supporting cast rather than the trainer's top stock.

Political Assasin (POST 12) at 20-1 with Ignacio Bustamante training and Hernandez H. Javier up from the outside post is an extreme longshot despite having one of the better jockeys on the mount.

Selections

Win: Bludz Valiant Policy (POST 10) Place: Celebratingtheeagle (POST 7) Show: Magic Apollitical (POST 4)

Betting Strategy

Bludz Valiant Policy (POST 10) at 2-1 is likely to go off at near even money given public support for a heavy favorite in a stakes race. The win return will be modest. Focus on exacta combinations using Bludz Valiant Policy (POST 10) on top with Celebratingtheeagle (POST 7) and Magic Apollitical (POST 4). A trifecta using Bludz Valiant Policy (POST 10) on top with Celebratingtheeagle (POST 7), Magic Apollitical (POST 4), and Full Moon Desire (POST 3) in the remaining spots could pay well in a twelve-horse stakes field.

RACE 9 — Post 11:24 (10:24/9:24/8:24) — 870f | D | G2 | Stk 52k | BUN | Purse $52,000

Pace Analysis

Race 9 is the most analytically interesting race on the card — a Grade 2 stakes at 870 furlongs for fillies and mares. This is by far the longest race on the card and the only true route race, which means pace, stamina, and class separation all become meaningful analytical tools. An 870-furlong race will have genuine pace scenarios where horses who go too fast early will be vulnerable to closers, and horses drawn to the outside will need to settle early and conserve energy through the middle fractions. The inside posts have a clear advantage in this configuration as horses can draft behind the pace on the rail.

Eye Will Decide (POST 3) and Master Reigns (POST 5) appear to be the likely pace setters based on their morning line positions and trainer profiles. If both Thrill And Fury (POST 2) and Gjr Rooster (POST 6) press the pace, the race could set up for a closer.

Key Contenders

Eye Will Decide (POST 3) at 2-1 trained by Adan Guzman and ridden by Noe Villatoro is the clear morning line favorite and has drawn a favorable inside post for the route distance. Guzman's barn has been active all card long, and Villatoro is a capable jockey in longer distances. The 2-1 price will likely tighten further.

Master Reigns (POST 5) at 3-1 trained by Marc E. Jungers with Raul Padilla Hernandez Jr. up is the second choice at morning line and deserves serious respect. Jungers has had multiple live horses throughout this card, and MASTER REIGNS at 3-1 represents the trainer's top entry in the Grade 2 marathon stakes. Jungers' barn being live across multiple races on a given card is a strong indication of overall form.

Secondary Choices

Thrill And Fury (POST 2) at 4-1 with Brittany N. Tellez training and Claudio Ponce Aguilar up is interesting because the same horse Thrill And Fury (POST 1) is also listed in Race 10 at 10-1 under the same trainer but with Hernandez H. Javier as the jockey. This appears to be the same horse double-entered, which is unusual and may require clarification. If the horse runs in Race 9, the Race 10 entry would scratch, and vice versa. Bettors should note this connection and monitor for scratches.

Gjr Rooster (POST 6) at 4-1 trained by Zackary Stinebaugh with Ali Rivera up is a co-favorite with Thrill And Fury (POST 2). Stinebaugh (Zackary) also trains Defives (POST 11) in Race 7. The 4-1 morning line on Gjr Rooster (POST 6) in a Grade 2 stakes is a statement of confidence.

Longshots

Fire Bolt B (POST 1) at 10-1 trained by Richard D. Sedillo and ridden by Alejandro Medina is from the rail post in the route race. Sedillo also trained Flying Hocks Db (POST 3) in Race 1. An inside post at 870 furlongs is a genuine advantage, and if FIRE BOLT B has the class to compete in a Grade 2, the 10-1 morning line represents significant overlay value.

Determined (POST 7) at 15-1 with Shae L. Cox training and Luis L. Vivanco up. Cox also trains Heza Vicious Rogue (POST 7) in Race 3, and the 15-1 on DETERMINED in a Grade 2 marathon suggests this horse is clearly a step below the top tier despite being from a capable barn.

Superfragilistic (POST 4) at 20-1 trained by John Boegner with Victor Manuel Urieta Jr. up. Boegner also trains Gladiator (POST 8) in the same race. Having two 20-1 horses in the same Grade 2 stakes from the same barn is puzzling and may indicate these are pace-setters or horses whose primary purpose is supporting another runner.

Gladiator (POST 8) at 20-1 trained by John Boegner with Eliazar T. Vera is the second Boegner entry at extreme odds in this Grade 2 contest.

Selections

Win: Eye Will Decide (POST 3) Place: Master Reigns (POST 5) Show: Gjr Rooster (POST 6)

Betting Strategy

Eye Will Decide (POST 3) at 2-1 is an overlay candidate if the horse has demonstrated the ability to go long. The route distance at Retama will sort this field more meaningfully than the sprint races, and the Guzman barn's overall form on tonight's card makes this horse dangerous. Key Eye Will Decide (POST 3) in exactas with Master Reigns (POST 5) and Gjr Rooster (POST 6). Include Fire Bolt B (POST 1) at 10-1 in trifectas as a possible late-closing upset on the inside rail. The Thrill And Fury (POST 2) double-entry situation with Race 10 needs monitoring before exotic wagers are finalized.

RACE 10 — Post 11:51 (10:51/9:51/8:51) — 550f | D | G3 | Stk 52k | BUN | Purse $52,000

Pace Analysis

The Grade 3 stakes at 550 feet for fillies and mares is an intermediate-distance sprint where pace scenario analysis has real meaning. At 550 feet, the race is long enough that horses who go out too aggressively early can get caught, yet short enough that early speed horses who rate well maintain a significant advantage. With nine horses, the field is manageable, and the pace will be set by whoever breaks the sharpest from the gate.

Top Cowboy (POST 9) as the 2-1 morning line favorite from the outside post will need to find a clean running lane immediately. If the field compresses early and Top Cowboy (POST 9) gets squeezed at the break, horses drawn inside like Imma Sweet Diva (POST 4) and Onthrocks (POST 6) could benefit.

Key Contenders

Top Cowboy (POST 9) at 2-1 trained by Marc E. Jungers with Luis L. Vivanco riding is the heavy morning line favorite in Race 10. Jungers has Rocket Temptation (POST 5) as the morning line favorite in Race 4, Master Reigns (POST 5) as second choice in Race 9, and Top Cowboy (POST 9) as the favorite here. Three morning line top choices from the same barn on one card is exceptional and signals a barn at or near peak condition. Top Cowboy (POST 9) at 550 feet is a serious contender.

Imma Sweet Diva (POST 4) at 4-1 trained by Joe Chapa and ridden by Ruben Delarosa Jr. is a co-favorite with Onthrocks (POST 6) at 4-1. A mid-post draw at 550 feet is ideal, and the 4-1 morning line on Imma Sweet Diva (POST 4) offers fair value against the heavy Jungers favorite.

Onthrocks (POST 6) at 4-1 trained by Esteban Rubio with Francisco Calderon is the other 4-1 co-favorite. Rubio also trains Lil Kool Marge (POST 8) in Race 8.

Secondary Choices

No Faux (POST 7) at 5-1 with Janessa Lee Muniz training and Randy Jr. Edison up is the fourth-best price in the field at morning line. Muniz trains Vanish Thru The Fire (POST 8) in Race 3, and a trainer sending out live horses throughout the card deserves notice. No Faux (POST 7) at 5-1 offers legitimate each-way value in a Grade 3 stakes.

Whata Lota Boy (POST 5) at 8-1 trained by Delbert McDowell with Alejandro Medina is a double-digit outsider from a trainer who has Killin Time (POST 3) as a co-favorite in Race 7. McDowell's barn appears active, and WHATA LOTA BOY at 8-1 could represent value if the trainer is in particularly sharp form.

Longshots

Thrill And Fury (POST 1) at 10-1 trained by Brittany N. Tellez with Hernandez H. Javier riding — as noted in the Race 9 analysis, this appears to be the same THRILL AND FURY entered in Race 9. The one that scratches from one race will presumably not run in the other, and bettors should track this situation closely before wagering.

Built For Power (POST 2) at 12-1 trained by Shae L. Cox with Ramirez Jr. Jr. up. Cox also trains Heza Vicious Rogue (POST 7) in Race 3 and Determined (POST 7) in Race 9. BUILT FOR POWER at 12-1 in a Grade 3 stakes represents extreme value if Cox's barn fires on all cylinders tonight.

Liberater (POST 3) at 12-1 with Joseph D. Manucy training and Victor Manuel Urieta Jr. riding. Manucy also trains Celebratingtheeagle (POST 7) in Race 8.

Too Broke To Quit (POST 8) at 30-1 trained by Shae L. Cox with Claudio Ponce Aguilar is the second Cox entry in Race 10 at extreme odds, creating a barn-split situation that heavily favors Built For Power (POST 2) as the Cox barn's intended runner.

Selections

Win: Top Cowboy (POST 9) Place: Imma Sweet Diva (POST 4) Show: No Faux (POST 7)

Betting Strategy

Top Cowboy (POST 9) at 2-1 from the outside post at 550 feet requires a strong break, and if Vivanco gets the horse out cleanly, the Jungers favorite should prove difficult to beat. A win parlay using Rocket Temptation (POST 5) in Race 4 and Top Cowboy (POST 9) in Race 10 for the Jungers double play is an appealing angle. Exactas using Top Cowboy (POST 9) over Imma Sweet Diva (POST 4), Onthrocks (POST 6), and No Faux (POST 7) should generate fair returns.

RACE 11 — Post 12:18 (11:18/10:18/9:18) — 400f | D | G2 | Stk 60k | BUN | Purse $60,000

Pace Analysis

The card-capping Grade 2 at 400 feet with a $60,000 purse is the richest race of the evening and features two co-favorites at 2-1 making this a true battle at the top. Nine One Won (POST 2) and Kas Prietito (POST 8) are both installed at 2-1, which is an unusual scenario reflecting genuine uncertainty about which of the two top horses will prevail. At 400 feet, the pace will be explosive from the gate, and both horses will need to show their best at the break to justify the heavy favoritism.

Key Contenders

Nine One Won (POST 2) at 2-1 trained by Raul Ramirez and ridden by Oliver E. Martinez gets a favorable inside post draw at 400 feet. Ramirez also trains Bulett (POST 6) in Race 5. The 2-1 morning line from Post 2 in a Grade 2 suggests a horse that has been consistently fast and competitive at this level.

Kas Prietito (POST 8) at 2-1 trained by Jorge Rivas Correa with Luis Angel Maldonado riding comes from a more outside draw at 400 feet. Rivas Correa does not appear to have other horses on the card, suggesting a sharp single-horse focus on this Grade 2 finale. Maldonado rode Regal King (POST 9) in Race 6, giving the jockey live mounts on both ends of the stakes program tonight.

Secondary Choices

Dm Chasing Money (POST 4) at 4-1 trained by Kie Mushinski with Claudio Ponce Aguilar up is a mid-post runner at a fair price in a Grade 2 finale. Mushinski has multiple entries on the card including Miss Laurinburg (POST 5) in Race 3, Jess Call Me Hero (POST 8) in Race 4, Dm Bella Star (POST 5) in Race 8, and Kadillaking (POST 5) in this race. DM CHASING MONEY at 4-1 appears to be Mushinski's main threat to the co-favorites.

Sign Of A Jet (POST 3) at 6-1 with Ricardo Aguirre training and Francisco Calderon up is a horse from a barn that has been active all card long. Aguirre also trained Sun River (POST 10) in Race 3 and Wise Filly (POST 1) in Race 6. A trainer who has horses across the card often has the barn in sharp condition, and SIGN OF A JET at 6-1 offers genuine value in a Grade 2 finale.

Longshots

Kadillaking (POST 5) at 10-1 trained by Delbert McDowell with Luis L. Vivanco up. McDowell has been active all card long with Killin Time (POST 3) in Race 7 and Whata Lota Boy (POST 5) in Race 10. If McDowell's barn fires late in the card, KADILLAKING at 10-1 in the Grade 2 finale is worth consideration.

Fdd El Jefe (POST 1) at 12-1 with Brian Stroud training and Victor Manuel Urieta Jr. up from the inside post. Stroud also trains The Landman (POST 3) in Race 5. The inside post at 400 feet can be an advantage, and Urieta Jr. is one of the most active jockeys on the card all evening.

Th Rum Runner (POST 6) at 12-1 with Arturo Archundia Garcia training and Jose Elias Villarreal up. Garcia also trains Zef Lucky Seis (POST 5) in Race 6. The 12-1 price reflects the competitive gap between this horse and the top two co-favorites.

Ym Flyin (POST 7) at 20-1 trained by Enrique Alvarado with Gilberto Linares riding is an extreme longshot whose odds reflect a significant step up in class or a horse whose form has been inconsistent.

Selections

Win: Kas Prietito (POST 8) Place: Nine One Won (POST 2) Show: Dm Chasing Money (POST 4)

Betting Strategy

With two co-favorites at 2-1 in the card finale, the win pool will be heavily contested and returns modest regardless of which top horse wins. The most profitable strategy is to box Nine One Won (POST 2) and Kas Prietito (POST 8) in an exacta while adding Dm Chasing Money (POST 4) and Sign Of A Jet (POST 3) in trifecta coverage. A trifecta key using the two 2-1 co-favorites on top with Dm Chasing Money (POST 4), Sign Of A Jet (POST 3), and Kadillaking (POST 5) rounding out the ticket could pay significantly if a 4-1 or longer finishes third.

Jockey Notes and Insights

Luis L. Vivanco is the busiest jockey on the card with mounts in Race 1 on Jess Perrys Cowgirl (POST 4), Race 3 on Miss Laurinburg (POST 5), Race 4 on Lickadee Split (POST 7), Race 6 on Hellofaneagle (POST 7), Race 7 on Chieftainess (POST 7), Race 8 on Bludz Valiant Policy (POST 10), Race 9 on Determined (POST 7), Race 10 on Top Cowboy (POST 9), and Race 11 on Kadillaking (POST 5). Vivanco's assignment on Bludz Valiant Policy (POST 10) in Race 8 and Top Cowboy (POST 9) in Race 10, both morning line favorites, makes him the key jockey to watch in the stakes portion of the card.

Victor Manuel Urieta Jr. is nearly as active with mounts across the stakes races including Celebratingtheeagle (POST 7) in Race 8, Superfragilistic (POST 4) in Race 9, Liberater (POST 3) in Race 10, and Fdd El Jefe (POST 1) in Race 11. The number of stakes mounts Urieta Jr. receives signals his status as one of the top Quarter Horse riders at Retama this meet.

Hernandez H. Javier has key mounts in Race 1 on Lethal Monday (POST 7), Race 3 on Kinetik (POST 1), Race 5 on Zef Lucky Seis (POST 5) in Race 6, Race 7 on Fabulous Casina (POST 5), Race 9 potentially on THRILL AND FURY through the Race 10 connection, and Race 10 on Thrill And Fury (POST 1). The THRILL AND FURY double-entry situation makes Javier a central figure in the Race 9 and 10 drama.

Gilberto Linares is exceptionally active throughout the card with mounts in Race 1 on Donax (POST 9), Race 2 on Givemeonemorereason (POST 9), Race 4 on Lagway (POST 2), Race 5 on Teller Looks Mrl (POST 4), Race 7 on Defives (POST 11) and Apollitical Lelo (POST 12) — the dual mount in Race 7 bears attention as noted — and Race 8 on This Eagles A Leader (POST 6), and Race 11 on Ym Flyin (POST 7).

Luis Angel Maldonado rides Regal King (POST 9) in Race 6, Lucky Larry (POST 6) in Race 7, and Kas Prietito (POST 8) in Race 11. The bookending of Maldonado's card with a potential stakes winner in Race 6 and the Grade 2 finale in Race 11 makes his performance a through-line for the evening.

Claudio Ponce Aguilar has the key stakes mounts including Heza Vicious Rogue (POST 7) in Race 3, Runaway Galilea (POST 2) in Race 2, Zenith Ztormi (POST 6) in Race 4, Jess Louisiana Girl (POST 8) in Race 7, Dm Bella Star (POST 5) in Race 8, Thrill And Fury (POST 2) in Race 9, Too Broke To Quit (POST 8) in Race 10, and Dm Chasing Money (POST 4) in Race 11. With Thrill And Fury (POST 2) in Race 9 and Dm Chasing Money (POST 4) in Race 11 being competitive selections, Aguilar figures to be a significant factor in the evening's richest races.

Trainer Notes and Insights

Marc E. Jungers is the standout trainer story of this card. With Rocket Temptation (POST 5) as the 2-1 favorite in Race 4, Baby Ruth (POST 1) at 10-1 in Race 7, Master Reigns (POST 5) as the 3-1 second choice in Race 9, and Top Cowboy (POST 9) as the 2-1 favorite in Race 10, Jungers has four live horses including two race-day favorites scattered across the card. When a trainer of his caliber installs two separate horses as morning line favorites on the same card, the entire stable should be respected as sharp and ready.

Shae L. Cox sends out Heza Vicious Rogue (POST 7) in Race 3, Determined (POST 7) in Race 9, Built For Power (POST 2) in Race 10, and Too Broke To Quit (POST 8) in Race 10. With Heza Vicious Rogue (POST 7) as the 2-1 favorite in Race 3 and two entries in the Grade 3 Race 10, Cox is positioned to have a significant night if the barn is in form.

John A. Stinebaugh has entries in Race 1 with Donax (POST 9), Race 5 with Teller Looks Mrl (POST 4), Race 8 with This Eagles A Leader (POST 6) and Flies Like An Eagle (POST 11). The Stinebaugh stable's multiple stakes entries at 20-1 in Race 8 may indicate those horses are being used for pacemaking purposes while Teller Looks Mrl (POST 4) in Race 5 at 4-1 is the barn's sharpest runner tonight.

Martin Rodriguez enters two horses in Race 6 with Run Nellie Run (POST 3) and Hellofaneagle (POST 7), and also sends out Chieftainess (POST 7) in Race 7. The dual entry in Race 6 creates an interesting decision for Rodriguez on which horse he is actually pointing to win.

Gilberto Gonzalez is similarly active with Anaheim (POST 5) in Race 1, Lg Barbie (POST 4) in Race 2, Fancy Goes West (POST 10) in Race 4, and Xpozay (POST 8) in Race 5. Lg Barbie (POST 4) at 4-1 in Race 2 appears to be his best chance of the night.

Brittany N. Tellez training THRILL AND FURY in both Race 9 and Race 10 under the same horse name but with different post numbers and jockeys is the most curious trainer situation on the card. Bettors must clarify this connection before committing to exotic wagers in either race. If THRILL AND FURY runs in Race 9, its Race 10 entry is moot, and the Grade 2 at 870 furlongs is likely the targeted race given the higher purse.

Best Wagering Strategies and Value Plays

The Jungers trainer angle is the most compelling single-barn strategy of the evening. Playing Rocket Temptation (POST 5) in Race 4 and Top Cowboy (POST 9) in Race 10 in a double or parlay creates a trainer-based multi-race wagering angle. If both horses go off at near-even money, a Win Parlay would return modest but solid profits. The daily double between Race 9 and Race 10 using Eye Will Decide (POST 3) over Top Cowboy (POST 9) is a strong two-horse combination for the Grade 2 into Grade 3 double.

The Pick 3 covering Races 9, 10, and 11 is the best multi-race exotic opportunity on the card. A ticket structure using Eye Will Decide (POST 3) in Race 9, Top Cowboy (POST 9) in Race 10, and Kas Prietito (POST 8) in Race 11 as the single-single-single combination costs $1 and offers fair potential if all three favorites fire. A more comprehensive ticket would key Eye Will Decide (POST 3) in Race 9, spread to Top Cowboy (POST 9) and Onthrocks (POST 6) in Race 10, and finish with Kas Prietito (POST 8) and Nine One Won (POST 2) in Race 11 for
